Though, it depends on individual involves and not gender base, but females generally( especially the rich ones) have more empathy towards their parents and siblings than males.

Now if the state and local government allocation are doled out in dollars.. there would be so much dollars in the system coupled with that which the BDC will bring in plus Nigerians in diaspora... He said the government shld be strict with arrest on anybody who does local transaction in dollars cuz it is illegal...

It self with foreign currency..instead they should control the volume of naira put into the system..that way, if they pump in less naira knowing that dollars has flooded the market..and knowing the people will be arrested if they transact business or government pays wages with dollars...they they will be forced to exchange that dollars with Dem at a lower rate with the scarcity of the naira in the system....

That way dollars exchange will fall...

This analysis is still the same thing the current governments are doing. If you check your Third paragraph, you will see that it the same argument that forced government to ban the importation of some products and subsequently closed some borders.

The forth paragraph does not even make sense, it portraits federal governments as business venture. Why would other aims of governments earn in dollar when it totally subordinate to federal government that control foreign trade?

The influx of dollars as a control measure as it being done by previous governments won't solve anything, it would only give room to more arbitration and holding. One thing is certain, governments and cbn officials are also into this arbitration, hence their reluctant to provide fundamental solution to this problem.

Things would've not bad/expensive like this if importer are able to import at official rate of 416/$.

Why must you source for dollars before you send money abroad or do business. Cbn need to provide a simple platform or app where every one can easily convert naira to dollar at official rate and send to any destination in the world. By this method, dollars would be virtually surplus and accessible. This is the only way to kill BDC business, not a mere arrest/intimidation that has never work anywhere in Nigeria.

Exactly, what these people dont know is that over 70% of people sourcing for dollars has absolutely nothing to do with foreign trade. They are simply buying for arbitration or to save fund.

I will continue to say this, for exchange rate to be dictate by true nature of Nigeria economy, Bureau de change business must be totally eradicated.

Let cbn and other commercial banks partner with their foreign counterparts and enable easy transferring of Naira to dollar and vise visa at official rate through these channels. By this method, 98% of those using dollars won't need to patronize FX traders, the remaining 2% won't have any meaningful effect on economy or dictate exchange rate.

Dollar has always been functioning on the basis of demand and supply, and the government has always claims to create enable environment for foreign investors, so what is new here that other candidates has never said before?

It is quite obvious that the old method could still continue even if Obi win next year election.

Until we find a way to make dollar unattractive to arbitration, there is no way the forces of demand and supply or overall economy will solve the problems.

It depends on available capital, poultry feeds are very expensive this period. You can be a sub- distributor or direct one, just make sure you follow a right channel to avoid buying adulterated feeds.

You are talking about online bank. First of all, how many customers do those online banks have.

Secondly so you know also that so failed transaction using some of these POS of online banks takes time to come back too.

Thirdly I hope you know too that some of these online banks have their system attached to the traditional banking services. The traditional banks provide the platform in which they operate.

I still work in the banks presently, we interface with all these online banks and a very big yes, transaction hangs in theirs too and it takes time to resolve.

Some are fully independent with millions of account holders, typical example are Carbon, Opay, etc.

I can categorically tell you that they resolve issue faster than traditional banks.

The basis of all this is that banks are highly under staffed and I blame CBN for all this. This is because they are supposed to regulate the welfare of banks staff and also. checkmate their workload.

My experience in banking, I have noticed that banks will rather prefer frauds to take place than for them to employ more staff to mitigate it. They did prefer for customers issue to go unsettled or delayed than for them to employ hands that will make the process faster.

Most banks have few hands attending to customers complaint resolution.

A lot of POS/ATM transaction that failed, customers hardly get refunds. And some that do have to go through the stress of going to the bank over and over again.

Now imagine how much yearly that customers forfeit to bank.

Most bank staff are overstretched in their work place. The bank management knows and the HR knows too.

Then the bulk of the staff in branches are mostly contract staff who earns very little money with little or no benefits. How then do you expect them to perform better.

I recently went through the he financial statements of the top 5 banks in Nigeria. Just see their enormous profit, yet bulk of their staff are contracts who earn nothing and CBN just kept quiet.


If our CBN regulatory department are doing their work properly, Andy bank who's yearly profit is above 100Bn have no business paying any of their staff doing core banking job less than 200k.

Funny enough, some banks have a yearly profit above 200Bn yet some of their core banking staff are been paid less than 100k monthly.

This is not an issue at all. Infact bank can fully operate without any staff. All they needed is working automated system that will respond to customer's complaints immediately.

If those online banks can solve their customers problem in less than 24 hours, I don't think there is any excuse for traditional banks to do the same.

Their actions are mostly deliberate, and there is no regulation authority the victims can report.

I've been a regular member in here but I'd decided to open a fresh account for the sake of privacy, and please pardon my typographical errors or probably correct them for me cause I like learning.

So here's the thing, I've been working for someone as a labourer for the past five years in a small private company. A very stressful work and very time consuming that I see no future in it and its affecting my health at the same time causeI always look stressed up, however I've been able to save a little over 3 million within this period of time. But your man is getting old, am 27 and by now I'm supposed to have a sable business of my own I should be doing.

Now am planning to leave the work cause to me it seems like I've wasted all this years cause I don't have any single skill to start with, I have no knowledge of any business to venture into and if I decide to go and start learning handwork it will take me more time, hence my confusion.. So many thought have been going through my mind. if I should relocate, buy a small car and start uber business or if I should look for a way and leave the country, or if I should just venture into business.

Please guys what do you advise me to do

I will advise you to save your money in dollar account or start trading usdt and continue enduring at where you work till you are able to start making reasonable profit from your investment.

Business is not easy these days, and majority of startup and the existing ones may likely find it hard or pack off by the time they remove fuel subsidy next year.
