@ Jansop,
They have a wedding reception hall. It's quite new. You may find out from the other eateries around there too.
Good luck.

Nigeria boi:
LIBERTY HALL,
along Lekki expressway,
Cool Venue, bt it is above 100k
Jansop:
,we need a get a venue for the reception, can anyone please help with a venue ,  around ikeja, ojota and ketu?
@ Nigeria boi, did yu see what the Poster's request is? Liberty Hall in Lekki doesn't seem to fit into into his request. Look above for what he wants.

@ Poster, Magrellos in Ogudu-ojota has a wedding reception venue that is not more than 100k. My only reservations is that it's quite small. Check it out if it will take your guests.
Nairaland GeneralRe: How Has Nairaland Changed Your Life? by yimiton(f): 1:21pm On May 12, 2008
I used to be pretty addicted to NL, it was beginning to affect my job. Fortunately, I was able to discipline myself to come in here only when it is totally convenient for me.

I have made friends through NL though I am yet to meet any of them physically.

Some my cherished friends are TK, Naje Haje, Deji (Street wise) Siena, JK and a few others. It's been nice knowing these guys and I look forward to meeting them physically someday.

It is also my gate away from boredome, it is an interesting place to relax when I'm bored.

It's a very funny place and I could laugh my head off sometimes with some very funny award winning comedy posts!
I learnt here to tolerate people, some people could be totally annoying, but I learnt to relax, enjoy the game and not take them personally.

I have had good advice here which helped me not to take actions I might have regretted.
Jobs/VacanciesDriver Needed Urgently by yimiton(op): 9:55am On Mar 26, 2008
Hi,
I need a driver urgently.
He'll be resuming and reporting as early as 6am in Lekki Phase 1 and will work most times on the island.
He'll be required to go to the airport on the mainland occationally, otherwise, his job will mostly be on the Island.

He should be literate, trustworthy and know Lagos well, especially Victoria Island and Lekki.
Salary is industry standard.

If you're interested or know someone who is, call me on: 01 4627793 or send your resume to: o.bokesh@vectis.gr
AutosRe: Lagos Brt, Riddicle To The Masses by yimiton(op): 1:40pm On Mar 18, 2008
@ jintujinta
1. They should have envisaged the crowd and be ready to combact it
2. They advertised and promised that there is a special task force on ground to make sure hold ups don't affect the BRT, with holdup, nobody will see the need to leave his or her private car and join BRT
3. The idea of BRT is not so new and most of them are suppose to be experienced and trained in the Lagos transportation problem.
4. There are no threats from commercial bus drivers because the project is in association with NRTW and they know the implication.
I have experienced them today, and I say it was overfilled with people standing and holding on hangers from the roof of the bus. I'm talking about the blue ones just launched yesterday.
You didn't talk on the overly expensive fares. The advert said they were going to be 'affordable'
AutosLagos Brt, Riddicle To The Masses by yimiton(op): 1:03pm On Mar 18, 2008
Lagos BRT was launched yesterday, 17th March, 2008 after so much adverts on it's proposed efficiency and effectiveness. People were encouraged to leave their private cars and join BRT to avoid traffic and holdups. I thought it was a nice idea and since I was running a bit late for work today, I decided to try it out.
It would be an understatement if I said I was disappointed. It all started when I had to stand on the queue for over a 1hr 30 mins before I eventually got in. The bus was so overfilled that people were standing like the popular 'molue' in Lagos, the fares where high and primary as well secondary school children with uniform where made to pay the same expensive fares and stand all through the journey.
It will surprise you to know that Ojota to Maryland was charged N50 as well as Ojota to Fadeyi and Ojota to TBS was N100.
The worse thing is that we still got held up in hold ups where there were no BRT lanes and I'd never been as late to the office as I was today.
I think this whole idea is a big slap to the general public, the government has taken the tax payers' money, invested it in a business that will probably be beneficial to a few people instead of the masses and promised us an Eldorado.

I think the BRT fares should be cheaper than privately owned vehicles, there should be different fares for people who do not take it from one initial terminus to the other; children of school age *especially those wearing uniforms* should not be made to pay; the staff members should be properly trained on how to manage crowd and make people queue. The promise of BRT that they'll be available every five minutes should be implemented to the letter.
Alternatively, the BRT idea should be scraped and Train system should be introduced.

Have you taken BRT, if yes, please share your experience, suggestions and ideas and remember to take the poll.
ComputersRe: Do You Love Your Computer? by yimiton(f): 11:34am On Mar 18, 2008
I love my lap top. I felt like crying cry when my first laptop crashed, I didn't throw it away, it's still in my achives. I learnt a lot with it, it practically thought me all the computer knowledge I have today.
My new lappy is my companion and *friend*. I enjoy working with it and I can stay on it all week long without feeling bored.
Foreign AffairsRe: British Authorities Have Gone Mad by yimiton(f): 10:47am On Mar 18, 2008
Homosexuality is horrible and it's scaring the hell of of me that it's literally being encouraged in some countries. It's shameful that people now compare and defend themselves with behaviours animals exibit which are suppose to be lower then human beings.
If animals become role models for human beings, what is the difference between they and the so called lower animals. Meanwhile, I don't believe that animals practice homosexuality no matter what our western scientists tell us neither will it make it right if for some weired reasons, they do.

I really wish the world will take example for Iraq where homosexuals, lesbians and paedophiles are beheaded without even being given a second chance. The terrible sin of homosexuality will be greatly reduced.
deor03:
yeah,

The british have gone kolo. The was a gay exhibition for 2 months in a popular university in scotland. Also a law is coming out soon to " protect" these people.

Surely my children CANNOT grow up in the UK.

I thinks this should just another oppurtunity for AFRICA to get it acts right. The current power houses are crumbling. Check out the collapse of the previous empires, history is about to repeat itself!
I agree with you and see Europe as a whole, not just a country crumbling, and what a great fall it shall be.
RomanceRe: I Am The Luckiest Man On Earth! by yimiton(f): 1:59pm On Mar 03, 2008
This isn't so cool at all shocked.
You met, you talked online and on phone, she came to visit once, just once, you've spent only one week together, filled in fiancee visa for you and you're excited to go and join her in the States where the roads are paved with gold and diamond and you and she will live happily together forever.
Is that what you really think? why are we so taken away with this *abroad thing?*
I pray you don't regret your decision, if your story is true that is.
PoliticsRe: Stop Calling Benin City Acient! by yimiton(f): 1:50pm On Mar 03, 2008
Benin is not only ANCIENT, it's old, underdeveloped, dirty, totally *roadless* and annoyingly smelly!
This is as a result of our bad governance. It has nothing to do with it being *ancient*. The fact that it ancient is suppose to be a compliment, like one of the cities that got civilized on time, remember the great bini Massacre at the time of Oba Overanwen *guess I got the spelling wrong, sorry* That was suppose to be the Ancient beautiful Benin, remember the tusks and other beautiful treasures stolen from Benin by the british? That was suppose to be the ancient beautiful Land of Benin. Remember the Great Bini empire that emcompassed a lot of yoruba lands of today. . . . .

Being ancient and beautiful has very lovely qualities but being old, corrupt, greedy no glutony, unfeeling for your fellow men is another story entirely.

Whatever you do, the worst will be to do nothing!

Write a petition, seek redress, talk to the press, do anything you can to get these people to book.
I hope you still remember some of the plate numbers, the time, place and date.
Please bring these barbarians to book, even if you don't finally succeed, make sure you try your best.
Who knows, Nigeria is changing, someone might actually listen to you and put the monkeys in the cage where they belong.
AutosRe: Bikers In Nigeria by yimiton(f): 1:13pm On Mar 03, 2008
I love bikes.
I think they are really cool but I'll never try them in Nigeria. My fear is that it's so dangerous. Any crazy bike man *Okada rider* or danfo driver can come from no where and sweep you right into the land of nowhere. Otherwise, I think it's a cool way to travel around.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Looking For Jkpretty! by yimiton(f): 4:45pm On Feb 13, 2008
@ smtprince,

What precisely are you talking about here? Are you trying to say you know the lady in question personally? Has she dated and dumped you before or what?

It's disgusting how people just come in here and talk gibberish about people they know nothing about.
OK, the poster wanted to get JK's attention; she's not interested and all she said was that he missed road, which was true considering the fact that he was talking to someone who wasn't interested what if she had said 'you don dive rock?' which would have been better? Look, you succeeded in getting attention to yourself, but that should do it, this whole nonsense is enough.

And for the records, I know that they say Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and also an inert quality, but if you really want to know, I'll say it categorically that JK is a very pretty young woman, not just morally but also physically.

You can bring it on if you want to continue on this.

Please JKpretty, ignore all these nonsense.

its best if they don't know, period!
I hate it when some guys talk about women as if they are some dumb things. It's totally annoying.
A lot of guys really don't know what RELATIONSHIP is all about. Some of them have never had one. Maybe a slepping partner or something else, but never really a relationship.

eclear:
Why is it important for them know this information.

smiley
Wait a minute, isn't this the same guy with those du*b questions? why do women shave; which is more embarassing. . . . Well, I was just wondering. I'm really not surprised about his stands in this subject.

I don't give a flip if my partner decides to tell me how much he's worth or not.

If he asks me plainly, I could tell him my gross, net and whatever else he wants to know about my finances.

If he keeps mute on his, he should be ready for a very demanding partner because if he can't disclose his finances, it means he's so so rich that he's scared that I'll wish him death if he discloses it! shocked

If he does, I'll see how we can both plan, invest and make best use of both our incomes to the advantage of our immediate family.

Its unfortunate, I hope the guy finds out before its too late. . .why would she want her papers then divorce him to go live in naija? undecided
This guy may never find out. When a woman is set to be bad, she could be bad indeed.
I only hope and pray that she ends up falling in love with him genuinly and forgetting this crazy plan.

My Gosh!
TKB recommended it and I ran to get it when he mentioned that the song Fire on the Mountain was among the songs he was talking about.

I've not stopped playing it ever since I got it on Friday! It's so beautiful, so much da bomb that I can't find a word to express how proud of it I am! It's the best thing I've ever heard from a Nigerian!
cool
She's wonderful, ASA ROOOCKS! kiss

That's not all, I hear that the producer of the music Cobham Asuquo is a blind Unilag Graduate!
Nigerians are definitely going places!
Another interesting thing about it is that all the songs in the album are so good. This album is world class! wink

I studied English with specific interests in american and old/middle english. I also did media/ photgraphy(which I have fallen in love with). I haven't made up my mind yet on what to do for my masters yet. LOL!
Hey Girlie, you've studied courses I respect so much. Is American and old/middle English the same thing as Renaissance English?
I think that language is great.
I was watching 'Girls of the play boy mansion' on E! the other day and I was impressed that people still study Renaissance.
I didn't know though that Nigerians or even Africans study it still. I respected the way Bridget learnt it so fast.
It was so beautiful. I love that Era, the language and  the cloths but I hate 'The play boy mansion'!

I also developed interest in media and gained admission for a program in Media and Public relations sometime ago but for some reasons, I couldn't honour the admission. I admire and envy you. I love photography!

I'm actually tired of all these Ogbanje talks, who ever is one can come out to identify otherwise, i stubbornly disagree that it exists.

Meanwhile, it's nice to have you back. Hope you're fully recovered and will be here for a long time.
Welcome back girlfriend.
RomanceRe: Is Der A Problem With Being A Virgin by yimiton(f): 2:20pm On Jan 25, 2008
How old is your friend?
Why has she remained a virgin, is it for moral's sake or she hasn't met anyone she feels in tune with enough to let go?

If it's for morals' sake, I don't see any reason why she should be ashamed or shy about it, it's a good thing.

If it's because she's not met anyone who thinks she's good enough for him, that is another issue entirely.

No body seem to be answering my question here.
I'll ask again in case it has been missed out.

what ever happens to the one eyed snake of transexuals?

I understand the silicon boobs and the other surgeries but can  you actually construct a female genital organ from a one eyed snake?

I really need answers to this please, it's been puzzling me for too long.
