Business › Re: Between Going For Masters And Starting A Business by Yoighaman(m): 5:58am On Mar 22, 2020 |
Gerrard59: At the bild, revenue or profit?
The vast majority of businesses don't generate a profit in their few years of operations as initial costs and re-investment consume the generated revenue. I think you should discuss more on the business as going for a masters is pretty straightforward. You mentioned production, have you calculated the initial costs involved in a production business? I am not saying you should start in a big way (most if not every business started small), but costs like rent (assuming you don't own the facility?), employees' wages & salaries, taxes (expect to see droves of unfortunate human beings in the name of tax/levy collectors. Yesterday, one of such cretins attempted to dupe me in the name of environmental/effluent levy. Inasmuch as the current administration is in a serious IGR drive, the governor espouses businesses to pay taxes/levies online and not physically. So I was able to question him). Expect to encounter such devils daily 'cos they seek to destroy as they don't know what it takes to build. Additionally, do you expect this business to take care of your daily needs/bills? If so, find something else to do as entrepreneurship on an empty stomach or reliance on it in its nascent stage is ill-advised. This is because the business is starved of funds needed for investment/expansion/improvement. Worse still in a place like Nigeria. Don't expect the business to grow if you get your rent, feeding, clothing etc funds from it during its nascent stage. Sure, it is expected to pay you as you progress but not as you begin.
If you are going into the business, please don't expect profits within the first three years esp as it involves production. In the long term, production is more profitable and value adding but the initial costs can be discouraging and the need for you to reinvest going forward. These costs can be depressing esp in a place where there has been no constant electricity for almost 60 years of independence. But in the long term, you get to benefit provided everything is in place and costs are reduced while volumes are increased.
On the other hand, a masters is not bad provided you undergo it in a country where you get to work after your studies and a course that is marketable. Preferably, you play the long game and get a second citizenship not just for yourself but business and future family (your kids would be eternally grateful). Getting admission should not be that difficult esp in the UK where you can apply today and get admission tomorrow. The issue becomes whether you have the funds 'cos 700K won't go anywhere for an MSc in the UK or even Germany. As always, I would recommend the US due to her surfeit of funding opportunities (if you have a STEM background). Due to this Coronavirus debacle, I foresee a drop in the number of Asian students esp the Chinese and maybe Indians applying and if you ask me, this gives room for Africans (Nigerians are the highest) to get admitted and be funded. If it is a Nigerian masters, well, I have nothing to say. Brilliant! |

This is a laudable achievement; however, what I detest is bringing everything on social media. If tomorrow those guys pay the mom an unwanted visit or invites her over to their place for a fee, everyone would be shouting and showing support when she (Francisca) could have just quietly shown love to her (mom). |

Bonaventura: It still baffles me how a head of a government owned media organisation would be an active politician, a card carrying member of the APC. He ran for Senate in Enugu at was promptly defeated at the primaries.
How can he objectively play the role of the watchdog as a head of media organisation? For instance, if the PDP Chairman wants to make an appearance on the Voice of Nigeria, will he be allowed a space? Partisanship everywhere. Tụfịakwa! Did you mean Voice of APC? It's so shameful this is happening, a national media house for the entire country. |

xtremecr8: Thank you sir. We realised it was a ploy to intimidate and delay our payment because we found it strange why they would be using the logo and then send us to legal. If it was in good faith, the use of our design should have been on hold until we finish with their legal. Using our IP and sending us to legal because we demanded for our bill while they are using our design is completely strange and unjust if you look at it closely. Besides, at no time did we raise any dispute so. We gave our best and didn't see this coming at all. Like we said, everyone should learn from our bad experience with FIRST Bank. What I can decipher from all I have read so far is that you have not visited their legal department, please do that first as advised before drawing conclusions. |

She was excitedly giving me the gist of how she beat up her stepmom and went to her room and locked up herself until her dad returned from work.
Immediately she knew he was back, she pretended and turned the table around by shedding crocodile tears in front of her dad narrating how the stepmom had seriously dealt with her.
There and then, during the conversation, I said to myself, "it's all over between us", I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me how my relationship with my mum will eventually pan out if I got married to that kind of a woman.
We are still friends till today after many years though, but I know I took the right decision. |

He said that the confession he made was made at gunpoint and that the signature on the statement was not his signature. However, the judge Justice enebeli gave him a piece of paper to sign his own signature.
He denied that he never lodged in any of those hotels where the girls were murdered. He also claimed that he never met any of those girls who were killed in the hotel. When the prosecution asked him if he would apologize to the public for his actions, he said he has nothing to apologize about because he did not kill anyone. The case was adjourned to 23rd of March. I don't blame him, I blame hungry lawyers who are willing to take up any case as long as it puts food on their table. |

Family › Re: Celebrating A Good Wife by Yoighaman(m): 3:50pm On Feb 26, 2020 |
LagosBoi2: It is your birthday my darling wife, I have to make public this letter because you are the best thing that ever happened to my life and I can't keep silent anymore.
My friend and lover of 16 straight years, It is usual for husbands to appreciate their wives in the name of marriage but it is unusual to state reasons for the appreciation.
I think you don't just love, there should be genuine reasons to love, I will purge out my thoughts on the reasons you should be the most celebrated wife on earth.
As a young man, if all you ever wish for is to meet your partner a virgin, I personally NEVER wished for it but women who still keep their virginity against all odds for the right man should be specially celebrated in today's crazy world. Amazingly I can confidently say that I am the only man in her life for 16yrs until date, she is a completely faithful wife.
We have never had any issues over infidelity on her part during our courtship and marriage till date, I have been the one misbehaving through the years, growing up was crazy, I was the one exploring life and doing all I could but she submitted her life to me.
As a multi talented young lady, she submitted her career and life to me, believing in me despite all my mistakes, she is the only person that understands me even without an explanation to my human mistakes.
I can not easily forget her usual lines after giving her piece of advice, she will say "I do not see you as my husband, I see you as my own son, If my son should do this same thing you have just done, will i disown him?", "you are still young, you will outgrow these behaviours and be the best man for me"
I lost my biological mother 11 yrs ago but If I call you my mother, I have a genuine reason to do so because you stood by me in a way that only a mother can.
The 16yrs wasn't all rosy, about 9 of the 16 years was full sufferings and poverty, even when I lost hope in myself, you continued to have high hopes in me without any iota of doubt.
We were homeless on two occasions in our lives and then with 2 kids, you endured with me, staying with your mom while I stay with a friend, you even came to live with me in my friend's place.
Despite the humiliation, you refused to give up on me, you absolutely signed off your whole life to me. At a point you wore your best cloth to a company where I asked you to help me submit a proposal, a young lady tapped you to inform you that your dress is torn at the back.
If you have ever had to wear a cloth that is so used up and begins to split into two from the back, you will understand what this means, my wife came home and narrated the issue to me, she actually saw the dress before wearing it, she wore it because she had no better one to wear
I couldn't control my emotions, I began to cry like a baby, I can never forget what she told me that faithful day, she said "Baby, don't worry, the same me wearing torn cloths today will have enough to wear tomorrow, I will even be giving out because it will be excess" Behold 7yrs after her words came to pass, cloths and female accessories are the least of her worries.
Your wisdom is extraordinary even me your husband can not match, your heart so pure that you forgive the unthinkable. Your ways so pure that you find it difficult to tell a lie. You gave me a girl and 2 boys. 12yr, 6yr and 2yr respectively.
You stood by your promise to see me through to success, If you look for a woman who gives in everything into a relationship without blinking, that is my wife.
You politely correct me when I am wrong, you warmly advise me and leave me to make my final decisions, you respect me as a father not as a husband.
Your culinary skills are the best I have ever known, friends and family can testify to this, you are the best mother to our kids, your daughter calls you the best mom in the world, I also call you the best wife and mother in the world. They say no perfect human but you are near perfect. You are so beautiful that people who do not know you conclude that you must have several men in your life spending money on you to look younger and beautiful even after 3 kids.
I can go on and on because there is a lot to talk about you that is not open to others, you live a private life without desperation for anything in life, You are a woman of honor, dignity, value with undying strength to carry on and remain focus against all odds.
I promise to guide our union with my life, protect our family with my strength and celebrate you for the rest of your life.
Happy birthday my darling wife!
You are indeed the best!
Please help move this to FP today 26 Feb to celebrate a good woman's birthday.
Add: On your request, I have added pics.
Thank you. I have not been this moved emotionally in a long time.....damn! @OP: May God continue to keep aglow the love and all that keeps your marriage so sweet. Nothing in the world will seperate both of you and your joy shall remain unspeakable IJN. Happy birthday to her, please express our warmest regards. We that are looking up to him for a marriage like this, may he bless us with such a woman and also make us a wonderful spouse for her IJN. God bless you. Cheers. |
