Focusmind: All these comments makes some of us that wants to remain in Nigeria look insane. I had all the opportunity to leave Nigeria but just couldn't. I seems to be in charge of my affairs and life here in Nigeria.
What I did was to give citizenship to my kids by having them abroad but all of us are still in Nigeria.
I seems to be relatively ok and enjoying my consultancy job with the little freedom it offers me.
I wouldn't want to start life again. I did my masters in UK more than 10 years ago, but still came back because of family and boredom.
For now, no regret staying back in Nigeria. I believe strongly that my success and fulfilment will come here. The future is bright and the right contacts are also being made.
I remain HERE! I think I should stop reading comments at this point. |

NonEthniCITY: After I finished my high school in 2005, I wanted to work and make money, so I was directed to a now defunct bank(Oceanic Sapele Road Branch, Benin City) to meet someone there to get a job as a janitor.
I went there and met this man, he told me my salary will be N6, 000, but I must pay him N4,000 cash before I get the job. I told him I had no money as I just finished my high school and then told him to deduct it from my first salary in that case - it was as if I insulted him by saying that. He said no way that he is going to have to give the job to someone who can pay him. That was how I didn't get that job. It changed a whole lot for me at that point.
Fast forward to about 15 years later, I landed in America with an immigrant visa. All I needed to apply for a job was a social security number (other than my visa). Started applying for different one online. I even got one without an interview - all that was needed to know was that I was legal, drug-free and able to work. That was it! No bribe, no payment of any sort.
Now, among many other injustices and harsh life the average Nigerian man and woman has to endure, tell me why I should regret leaving. Listen, I am not saying my life is perfect here, but I have a lot to be grateful for.
My only regret is not being able to bring all my family with me. Wonderful. |

Redeemed Church, Winners Chapel, Mountain of Fire, Deeper Life, CAC all of them dey here. direct flight to Lagos. If you have spare $1500 , you can go to Lagos for week-end Thursday back Sunday. Best of 2 scenarios. If you update/upgrade your skills (especially modern IT skills) (note I said skills not qualifications) , jobs that can fetch $150,000 a year plenty. Very true. |

Romance › Re: A 19-Year-Old Lady Is In Love With Me, I'm 10 Years Older. I'm Scared by Yoighaman(m): 2:56pm On Feb 21, 2020 |
Toks2008: Don't you know that one the reasons young ladies cry of heartbreak is because they get involved with men too young to know what they really want?
Yes in some cases it is not about age but the truth is that age gap is a great factor.
A lady can be older than her man don't get me wrong and love is not about age but understanding and connection but nevertheless it is better for a young girl in her adult teens or early 20s to be with a man that is at least 8 or 10years older.. Why?
1. In most cases, the guy will adore her like a kid sis and will cope with her nastiness compared to a younger guy who is just about her age.
2. By the time the lady is in her mid 20s the guy is probably ready to take her home if she proves to be a good lady.
3. A 30 year old guy dating a 20 or 22year old lady will likely be stable enough financially, psychologically...to support the lady.
4. Ladies love to be pampered and they can get that easily from a guy who is quite older and not their peers that are probably still as childish as them.
5. Guys naturally get the kick when they know a girl is very younger than them and this spark will continue for a long time at least I am a testimony to this...
I can go on and on listing the benefits and guess what; the reason why ladies fall for married men easily is because married men are so mature mentally and they sure know how to take care of a woman and unfortunately ladies are wired to love a man that takes good care of them regardless of his marital status but the good thing is that girls experience same care from men who are considerably older than them.
My advise to adult teenage girls and those in their 20s is that they meticulously choose a guy who is at least 7 to 10years older or even more if they truly want to enjoy bliss.
This is my personal opinion and I think lalasticlala should consider this for front page so that young ladies can benefit from this no holds barr expose. . You made sense die, only myopic and insular minds would not fathom out what you just wrote. Thumbs up. |

TroubleMaker47: The truth is, Amnesty either for ND militants or Boko haram should never have been! There is absolutely no justification for forgiving criminals and paying them or catering for there welfare regardless of the cause they claim to be fighting for! Late Umaru Yar Ardua set a bad precedent by granting amnesty to terrorists with the name MEND. Today BH are asking for the same. Afterall they are both intricately intertwined They both fought for a cause! They both threatened the goverment! They both employed violence They both caused the goverment loss of lives and properties! So yes WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GEESE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER! AMNESTY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN, BUT HERE WE ARE!!!
N/B; Honestly I'm tired of explaining my stand to every ignorant person that quotes me so i might as well do it here. No matter how honourable a cause may seem to be by the propagators, THE MOMENT VIOLENCE AGAINST THE STATE IS INVOLVED IN THE FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE, IT IS NO LONGER AN AGITATION BUT AN ACT OF TERRORISM! THAT IS just how every government works! MEND employed violence against the Nigerian state for their "honourable cause" hence in the eyes of every reasonable goverment, THEY ARE TERRORISTS! REMEMBER HENRY OKAH? Just like the #BlackLivesMatter movement in USA, their cause is very honourable but what do you think would have happened if they took up arms and started attacking the US Govt? THEY WOULD BE FLUSHED and tried under the terrorism act. The law wouldn't look at the cause anymore but the meduim employed in fighting the cause! As unpleasant as it may seem even to me, MEND was a terrorist organisation and the Nigerian govt set a bad precedent by granting them amnesty! What cause is BH fighting? |

The reach of the Islamic Revolution stretches way beyond the Middle East.
Both were attending an annual “global resistance front” conference in Qom, which included speeches by senior IRGC commanders. The motto of this conference:
“The expulsion of the US is the prelude to the destruction of Israel and the death of the Deal of Century”

Since she doesn't have any documentary evidence of this situation, is there a chance she could be lying.
Or are we just to take her words because we do not like Amaechi and Buhari? When you cry " Wolf, wolf, wolf" always, when there's no wolf, nobody will believe you the day a real wolf appears. When you tell lies always, nobody will believe you even if you are saying the truth. |

Caseless: The question you should ask is, how much does it cost to put a good building up in that area of Lagos? 400m will give him a befitting structure in that area. He's a big time businessman (who owns Emilinks); people like him think differently and must have had his reasons for staying there; probably to make a statement to his business associates or for just about any reason personally known to him. It's like asking someone who bought a Bentley or Rolls Royce why he made the purchase when a Toyota or Nissan can take him from point A to B. |

He must have spent just about N400M over the 6-year period, that's about $1.4M considering exchange rate fluctuations. That's chicken change to a Billionaire with constant inflow of money.
