That isn't a criteria to be tribalistic. The fact that GEJ has used religion and tribe to create sectionalism in Nigeria; the Igbos have always had that tendency of tearing Nigeria apart.

Why tf did Biafra set up an embassy in Holland?
There has always been tribalism and sectionalism in Nigeria and this will never change. It did not start with GEJ. Nigeria is an invention of the White man,it's not a nation in any sense of the word. I'm an Igboman first before Nigerian. As for us Igbos,we have always wanted to opt out of Nigeria,we even fought a war for this. Nigeria is just a collection of ethnic groups kept together by force of arms and not by choice. That's why it is not a country

You are getting it twisted. Nigeria didn't fight for Biafra, but Niger/delta oil. If Biafra had opted out of Nigeria without claiming Niger/delta, there wouldn't have been a war.
And How did you expect Biafra to leave the Niger-Delta? Do you know the number of Delta-Igbos,Rivers Igbos,Etche-Igbos and so on in the Niger-Delta? Even the so called Niger-Delta declared their independence before Ojukwu declared Biafra in 1967. Isaac Boro declared the Niger-Delta republic in 1966

Absolute rubbish!! Who are these Odua foundation? So as an Igbo man I am now a foreigner in Lagos? The Yorubas actually think they are doing us Igbos a favour by accommodating us in Lagos? How laughable. Did we come to Lagos to beg for food? This is the same Lagos the Yorubas "sold" to the British as a crown colony in the 1860's. The same Lagos that Igbos left 1967 to go back home and create their own nation of Biafra but the Yorubas teamed up with their Hausa comrades to fight a war to bring us back. Well we Igbos are here now and we ain't going no where. As far as I'm concerned, the Oba of Lagos is a nobody and Lagos is a satellite Igbo territory. Agbaje to win!!!! Fork APC!!!
Politics › Re: The Politics Of Oil And The Yorubas by zendy: 8:20am On Apr 11, 2015
OP, I understand where you are coming from. Just like most Yorubas and Northernwrs believe in the British inspired fraud called 'Nigeria', so also must the SS reach the realisation that they must unite with the SE people to leave Nigeria. There's no point wasting time on resource or political control while we are part of Nigeria. If you want to control your resources and politics, you have to agitate for your own separate country. I can guarantee you 100% that if it had been the North who had oil and sea-port,they would have divided Nigeria long before Ojukwu declared Biafra. Only two kinds of people believe in "one Nigeria". The ignorant ones and those who are scared about how they will survive without oil money. The SE/SS people must unite and breakaway from the cesspool of deciet called Nigeria.

I just visited Captain Iheanachos campaign website!!! He did not step down for any body!!! He said on the website that PDP has resorted to telling the electorate that APGA candidates are stepping down for them. This is a lie! They are doing the same in Abia and Ebonyi. APGA has nothing to do with PDP except supporting president Goodlucks re-election.

MAYOWAAK:
Most Igbos says they are the people that developed Lagos and made Lagos what it is today. They say without Igbos, Lagos is finished. And i keep wondering, how has Igbos helped in shaping and developing Lagos?

Lets get the fact right, Igbos didn't develop Lagos rather, it was Lagos that shaped and made the Igbos what they are today. Without igbos in Lagos, Lagos will remain Lagos and without Lagos, most Igbos may likely be nothing.

Reason for my assertion is that most giant and top companies that attracts millions of people across the country to Lagos are not owned by the Igbos so, how has Igbos shaped and developed Lagos?

This are the achievements and economic advancement Igbos gave Lagos and Lagosians; tokunbo and fake spare parts at Ladepo Market, China Electronics and pirated CDs at Alaba market, bend-down select cloths at Idumota and yaba and kotangowa market, Chinese and tokunbo computers accessories and phones at Computer village Ikeja are Igbos economical achievement and contribution to Lagos. In fact, most Igbos are causing nuisance in Lagos. A visit to this markets will tell you the amount of nuisance that Most Igbos has caused in Lagos. The environments this Igbos traders are mostly populated are always polluted with waste of all sorts, they are dirty, stinking, rough, erection of illegal shops on road, on pipeline and railway lines are encouraged in this market places that causes traffic gridlock and other dangerous acts and when Lagos state government dismantle this illegal shops, they get angry, if Lagos state government close their shops for environmental violation, they pick offence. How then has the Igbos developed Lagos?

As long as am concerned, PZ, COCA-COLA, 7UP, CADBURY, MTN, ZAIN, GLO, ETISALAT, DANGOTE, SHOP-RITES, GOLDEN PENNY, FLOUR MILL, INDOMIE, UNILEVER, P&G, CHI LIMITED, GUINNESS, NIGERIA BREWERIES, OANDO, CONOIL, TOTAL, MOBIL, CHEVRON, SHELL, AQUADANA, KFC, EKO HOTEL, INTER CONTINENTAL HOTEL, PROTEA HOTEL, JULIUS BERGER, RCC CONSTRUCTION, NESTLE, KPMG, GSK, FRISLAND FOOD, WAMCO, BRITISH AMERICA TOBACCO, FLOUR MILL, SCHLUBEGER, AIT, SILVERBIRD TV, CHANNELS TV, LARFARGE, etc are not own by the Igbos. This companies are what attracted millions of people to Lagos.

Igbos shouldn't lay claim that they develop a place by becoming nuisance. Most of the top churches in Lagos are not also owned by Igbos. House on the Rock, Redeem, Christ Embassy, Deeper life, living faith, MFM, etc are not owned by Igbos, the only church that's reasonable that's owned by an Igbo man is TREM, while another Igbos church Lord Chosen church encourage nuisance in Lagos and it also double as the most dirtiest church in Lagos.

Records shows that 75% of robbery cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 85% of ritual cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of drug cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 70% of fraud cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 90% of pirated CDs in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of fake and Adulterated drugs in Lagos that has kill thousands of Lagosians are carried out by Igbos, in fact, most of the crimes in Lagos are related to the Igbos so how has Igbos developed Lagos when they can't get their hands off crimes?

There's no Igbo man among the top three richest people in Nigeria, so how are they successful?

The truth is that Igbos should be grateful that the Yorubas accommodated them in Lagos peacefully, they shouldn't take the Meekness and kindness of the Yorubas for granted.

Igbos didn't make Lagos but its actually Lagos that made Igbos.
And with all you wrote about Igbos, if the same Igbos say they want to go home and form their own nation of Biafra, it will be Nigerians like you who will come out prepared for war to keep the same Igbos in your fake "one Nigeria". Also, you talk about Lagos making the Igbos but conveniently forgot that the large international commercial hubs of Onitsha,Nnewi and Aba were created by the Igbos and they are not even state capitals like Lagos. Can you tell me any other geo-political zone that has such hubs? The contribution of the Igbos in making Lagos what it is can never be doubted.

What other choice has Agbaje got but to appeal to the Igbo vote? He knows that the only thing standing between him and Government house is if the Igbos come en mass to vote for him on Saturday. The Oba of Lagos made Agbajes job much easier.

The Cat is going down. If you take a good look at the steps. See where the steps meet the wall and you might see what some call the "step marks". It is usually painted over in most buildings so some may never have seen it. The "step marks" are in descending order which means the cat is going down. The cat would need to be 'flying' if it were going up

Moderator, why do you allow a thread that promote tribal divide? It seems that the younger generation in Nigeria are more tribalistic than our fathers. What is all these Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa in a purported United Nigeria? Young Nigerians place tribe far and above Nationality. This Nairaland is becoming a plateform to showcase tribal hatred.
Please Mod, sanitize this Nairaland before seriouse minded Nigerians lost complete interest in this social media. I rest my case.

They can't give us Biafra for the simple reason that they are scared of what an independent Igbo homeland might be capable of . The Yorubas and Hausas need Igbos in Nigeria like fish needs water.

Buhari got elected on an anti-corruption platform. It will be interesting to see how he will fight corruption. I don't think a lot Nigerians realise that fighting corruption, particularly in a country like Nigeria where it entrenched, is a life and death issue. When you fight corruption,it fights back. A lot of people are where they are in life because of corruption and they are not prepared to back to porverty no matter what Buhari does. To fight corruption,Buhari will need to throw most of the APC and PDP leadership in jail and this is like fighting your own shadow. We wait to to see what Buhari does. Fighting corruption is not drinking fura de nunu.

Yoruba people can be funny sometimes. If an Igbo man like me says I want Biafra, the Yoruba man will be the first to come out up in arms that we must remain 'one Nigeria'. Then when we Igbos say "since we are one Nigera,Lagos is my land", the Yoruba man will say " you no know where your land dey for East?". They want one Nigeria but don't want to accept what it means. Wahala dey this Nigeria we are in.

The greatest irony of this election is that Jonathans base the south south gave Buhari almost four hundred thousand votes, while the south east that has no Igbo man in the ballot could not generate up to two hundred thousand votes for the peoples general.

Our people has a lot to learn politically.
You are mistaken when you say that the Igbos had no one on the ballot. There were at least 3 Igbos in the presidential race. UPP and NCP fielded Igbos as their presidential candidate, however, everyone knew these guys had no realistic chance of winning. Igbos voted Jonathan because out of all the people who contested, he was the one who best suited their interest. There was no way Igbos where going support APC or Buhari, not even in 4 years time when he seeks re-election. APC is a Nothern/Yoruba thing that has nothing to do with Igbos. If they think that Jonathan was a failure, well they have 4 years to show if they can do better. It should be noted that all Nigerian presidents since 1960 to date were all failures anyway.
