The Ijaws, the people of the SS and SE can beat about the bush all they like but the reality is there for all to see. resource control is a waste of time as long as you in Nigeria. If you want to control you resources, form your own nation! The people of the SE/SS will never be free as long as they are in one country with the northerners and Yorubas. It is the inalienable right of a people to choose if they want to be Nigerian or not. I believe that the SS/SE people should unite in concerted effort to breakaway from the federal republic of Nigeria this year. It is either that or we watch as our resources are pilfered away by the Yorubas and northerners whom we have no connection with. |
Nationalist:If any body is talking about Igbo president, let them go and ask Yorubas if there was any significant thing an Obasunjo presidency did for them. The answer is absolutely nothing. Has the north advanced its self after holding power for over 30 years? shockingly no. Not even the Buhari presidency will help them much. If an Igbo man become president tomorrow,it wont count for much either. Its the people who develop their land not the president. Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa presidency are overrated. I laugh when people say that an Igbo man will never be president, ask the same people how their life has become any better since their man was president and they have nothing to say. |
This Buhari is suddenly becoming a 'Rock star' very fast. Must be a far cry from life in Daura. I wonder if anyone has been to Buharis Wikipedia web page and read this: Northern counter-coup of July 28, 1966 In July 1966 Lieutenant Muhammadu Buhari was one of the participants in a coup led by Lt-Col Murtala Muhammed that overthrew and assassinated Nigeria's first self-appointed military Head of State General Aguiyi Ironsi who assumed leadership of the Nigerian government after a failed coup attempt on January 15, 1966 which overthrew the elected parliamentary system of government of independent Nigeria (also known as first republic). Ironsi's assumption of Nigeria's leadership was technically another coup following the January 15, 1966 coup. Other participants in the July 28, 1966 coup included 2nd Lieutenant Sani Abacha, Lieutenant Ibrahim Babangida , Major Theophilus Danjuma, Lieutenant Ibrahim Bako among others. The coup was a reaction to the January 15 coup where a group of mostly Igbo led by Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu overthrew the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. Many Northern soldiers were aggrieved by the murder of senior politicians, Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, northern regional premier, Ahmadu Bello, and four senior officers, Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari, Colonel Kur Mohammed, Lt-Cols Abogo Largema and James Pam.[16] The counter-coup was very bloody leading to the murder of mostly Igbo officers. Among the casualties were the first military head of state General Aguiyi Ironsi and Lt Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi, the military governor of the Western Region. Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammadu_Buhari Buhari is still an accomplished coup plotter and killer. His presidential status will never take that away no matter how had he tries |
BlackGirlsCode:Akuko n'egwu. |
BlackGirlsCode:Ha! Don't make me laugh. The fact that APC won the presidency doesn't still take away the fact that it is still seen as Hausa/Yoruba party by both the SS and SE and this wont change for a long long time. Personally, I don't see APC ever winning any elections in the SE. By the way, APGA is not dead in anyway,it still controls Anambra and has a very good chance of taking Abia, Imo and Ebonyi. The presidential election in the SE was about Jonathan, the Governorship election is about the people. |
Okorocha is a goner and he knows it. APC is still s pariah in Igboland regardles of Buharis victory. Okorocha should ring GEJ and get tips about how to start preparing his hand-over notes. |
Texcoco:One thing that might work against Agbaje is if the huge Igbo population in Lagos decide that the Lagos gubernatorial election isn't worth getting out of bed for...... |
olawalepopoola:Boko Haram dared the might of the federal republic of Nigeria and what happened? Niger-Delta militants dared the might of Nigeria and what happened? Go and find somewhere to sit down man. |
Achilies:You obviously don't live in Igboland because if you did,you would have known that APC and indeed Buhari were widely despised to stand any chance in the elections. |
I want to send a big shoutout to my people of the SE and our SS brothers. Our prefared candidate didn't get re-elected but we have shown decorum in the mist of disappointment. God knows that if Buhari had not been elected, thousands of lives and property worth Billions would have been up in flames in the north by now. We are not northern zealots and never will be. We are much better than them.It doesn't matter what the North does with power, they won't be able to see the backs of southerners. I pray that we will one day be able to dissolve whatever political ties we have with the northerners and Yorubas but until that time comes,we keep the faith. One consolation in all of this is that whatever the incoming administration does is going to affect everyone with equal measure. Life goes on. |
Reading through this thread, you find out how divided Nigeria really is. The so called "Nigerians" are only talking about how they are going to kill each other. How Buhari will "level" the Niger-Delta if Asari Dokubo and the Niger-Delta militants try anything. Death, death, death. The question is why? We did not kill each other before the British came and formed Nigeria but we are more than ready to massacre each other to up-hold the "British invention" known as Nigeria. A whitmans idea has now become the focal point of deciet and killings. Going by history, the SE/SS people where those who resisted the most in regards to British attempt to force them into Nigeria as opposed to the Yorubas and Northerners who accepted British rule without hardly fighting. This is the major reason why it is most likely that the people who shout 'one Nigeria' will be a Yoruba or Hausa man. Another historical fact about the fraud known as Nigeria is that same Buhari who has been elected president was one of the ring leaders of the "Hausa coup" of July 1966 where they massacred hundreds of people and wanted to seceed the North from Nigeria. Buhari and his fellow northerners had wanted to declare "Arewa Republic" ( a They had even got planes ready to fly themselves and family to Kaduna) but as soon as they were told by the British that it would not be sustainable with the South-south Oil money, they changed tune to 'one Nigeria'. Nigeria is a doomed enterprise. Just like a husband or wife has the right to divorce and leave each other at any time, so have the Igbos or the SS people the right to seceed from Nigeria any time they so wish. Nigeria is a British idea that has long outlived its usefulness and we must be free. You cannot force anyone to be Nigerian no matter how hard you try and we must disintegrate peacefully and quietly or we kill each to trying keep propping up this unworkable Union that has no legitimacy called 'one Nigeria' |
Everything that Dokubo said is true. Nigeria is far from a united country. Nigeria is a collection of ethnicities that mistrust and dislike each other so why are we together? It is most unfortunate that the south-south could not see what we Igbos and Ojukwu saw almost 50 years ago when we declared Biafra, that the SS/SE people have nothing in common with the northerners and that the Yorubas will perpetually help the Hausa man to enslave us. It is unfortunate that SS then went ahead to sabotage Biafra. Had they listened and trusted Ojukwu, we would not be listening to any 'Sai Buhari' today. Finally the SS realise that Igbos are the only true friends they have. Nigeria is a fraud brought by the white man and perpetuated by the Yoruba/Hausa alliance. What gives the Yoruba or Hausa man the right to tell the Igbos, a tribe of over 35 million people, who their president should be? Because of a none existent one Nigeria? What nonsense? The people of the SS should take back their God given Oil and Gas wealth because the truth is that if a South-South president is not good enough for Nigeria, then Nigeria is not good enough for the south-south Oil. There is no integration in Nigeria, no patriotism and my fatherland is not Sokoto or Ibadan. Nigeria should be divided and constituent people who make it up should go their separate ways and stop given each other headache. A fraud can only carry on for so long, and one day, this ' failed British experiment' called "Nigeria" will surely come to an end . Amen |
Hope15:Is it paining me that an illiterate, cattle rearing ab0ki is now president? Yea it pained me yesterday. But when I woke up this morning I remembered that if Buhari messes up,it's not just me it will affect so I smile........ |
ChristyG:Don't kid your self. The fact that as an Igbo man I live in Lagos or Ibadan or Kano doesn't mean those people are adding anything of value to my life. I have business there and I'm not begging anyone for food and if Ineasnt there I would be somewhere else. Neither the Yoruba man or the Hausa man adds anything of value to the Igbo mans life. |
NewNigeriaMind:It's not how people act and think when they have money is the same way they act and think when they don't have anything. Same way people don't act the same after they come to power. There will be a power tussle between Tinubu and Buhari and it won't end well |
Teejizzle:They did that when they formed Biiafra but the same Hausa and Yoruba fought a war to bring them back. |
oakson:Of course the Igbos are not nationalist. It's not like you don't know that if Igbos were offered the choice of opting out of Nigeria peacefuly and without bloodshed they would jump at the offer and run out fast. |
ireneony:Buhari is just one of the many injustices the SE/SS have to face for being part of the failed project known as Nigeria. If I found a Genie in bottle tomorrow, the first thing I would wish for is the secession of the SE/SS from Nigeria as a different country (or 2 separate countries) so we can finally have breathing space from the Yorubas and Hausas who in reality add no value to our lives. |
DickTator1:I have no doubt that Tinubu snd Buhari will have a major fall out within the first 6 months of an APC Government. What brought APC together, which is to remove PDP,has been achieved. Now they will fight each other just like PDP for the 'spoils of office' which may ultimatEly lead to their destruction. |
MisterLongman:A very small price to pay in other to help retain Jonathan. What APGA should do now is to strategise to ensure they win the Gubernatorial primaries in their areas of strenght like Imo,Abia and Ebonyi. This is far more important than the election of the lawmakers. |
megacity:That's exacly it. The Igbos never believed in Buhari and as such, did not vote for him. Another thing which some don't realise is that the issue of an "Igbo president" is more of a psychological thing than anything else. The North has held power for over 30 years but are no where near the south-west,South-East or South-south in terms of overall development. It's the people that develop their land not the office of the president. The presidency or an "Igbo president" is highly overrated. Even if the North hold power for another 30 years, they still will not catch-up with the South. |
sherryshitt:Well at least now you know that Nigeria is a country but a forced marriage. |
Adek15:Don't decieve your self. a very small minority of Igbos, probably less than 5%,supported Buhari |
sherryshitt:The Igbos don't have to accept anything. The same Igbos have been trying to leave the you people and form their own country for a long time. |
I also want to add that the only 2 good things that has come out of Buharis victory are that the many people who would have been slaughtered like Sallah Ram up in the North had Buhari not been declared winner can breathe a sigh of relief. The other good thing is that an era of 2 party system has been ushered in. To the people of the South-south,I hope the reality of Nigeria is sinking in? A south-South president will not emerge again in my life time. In the mean time, those that kicked GEJ will be all too happy to keep taking the oil money if the south-south people while dictating who will be president. I think that the Igbos and the south-south should face the reality that unless we come together and breakout of Nigeria,we will always remain victims of Hausa/Yoruba hegemony. Nigeria is a long failed British project and it's a slap on our face that a Yoruba or Hausa man can still tell us who our leader should be. Ojukwu fought to liberate us from this political oppression 45 years ago but we still remain in it. Nigeria is a fraud! And one day,we shall be free of this fraud!! |
Naturally,I'm not happy that Buhari has been elected president same as most my fellow Igbos and the people of the South-south region. The only people who are celebrating are the Yorubas and the northerners. What they are celebrating is not really Buharis victory but the return of Yoruba/Hausa-Fulani hegemony. For 50 years out of Nigerias 55 year existence,it has been either a Yoruba or a northerner ruling and naturally, they are happy that things have returned to 'business as usual' following the interruption caused by the death of Yaradua which brought in GEJ. There is really nothing to celebrate anyway, I am 100% certain that things will much worse under Buhari because he is not the type of person who can carry Nigerians along. He is just a product of "born to rule" which destroyed this country. Nigeria is just a country on paper only. The people are as divided as ever |
IbnSultaan:I'm GEJ supporter but I have to admit that it is not looking good for us. It is still a wonder to me where the North are getting these numbers that run into millions from. However it's not over until Jega says so and knowing Nigeria, anything can still happen. One thing I will tell Buhari supporters is that should their man win, there is nothing to rejoice about. Buhari will be inheriting a highly divided nation and us from SS/SE will Not forget how the north sabotaged the regime of Jonathan in their desperate bid to return to power. The problems bedeviling Nigeria did not start with GEJ and it won't end with Buhari. I have no doubt in my mind that things will get much worse under Buhari because he is a man who has been in the presidential game for the last 12 years but has never come out with a clear cut policy on how he will solve the problems of Nigeria. The only thing Buhari represents is the desire of the North and their Yoruba compatriots to control the political destiny of Nigeria. When PDP was producing Yoruba and Hausa presidents in Obasunjo and Yaradua, nobody remembered 'Sai Buhar!'. But as soon as a SS president came up,they all ganged up against him. For the SS/SE people, the hand writing is on the wall. We can either choose to remain subservient to the Hausa/Yoruba hegemony or we can choose leave this unworkable,British invented fraud called Nigeria. |
EmmySparky:Your just looking for an excuse to remain a slave. Igbos are not afraid to fight for their freedom ,whatever the violence that may come. They have done it before and they will do it again. It's cowards that hide under 'one Nigeria' |
They should keep that Jet on standby to take him back to Daura tomorrow. |
ozoigbondu:Imo state must follow suit and kick Okorocha out in 2 weeks |
I know longer know what to believe any more. So many online results and no way to authenticate them |
EmmySparky:This is the way you and many other people are trying to use 'scare mongering' to get the SE/SS people to stay with you in this utterly failed British invented project called 'Nigeria'. No where in the world do people lose their investment because they are not citizens of the place. Nobody is running back to any village and leaving their property. The 'ECOWAS' stamped on your Nigerian passport is there for a reason. It allows you and any body living within the ECOWAS a sub-region to travel, live and transact business within that region without needing a Visa. That's why a Ghanain can come and go from Nigeria as he pleases. Biafra will be an ECOWAS country and any Igbo,EFIK,Ijaw,Ibibio can travel or live anywhere in Nigeria. What we will not share is political connection. Buhari wins,Nigeria ends! |
