You want to compare Iraq military with Nigeria? Are u high? Bokoharam dey beat de army back to back and u talking
if you think to fight and defeat a terrorist group is bread and butter, go and ask US, UK, plus their NATO. How long it took them with all their sophistication to tame Al quada, US and their coalition are finding a backdoor escape from the Talibans today. And don't come with the rag tag ish about BH, last time I checked, they ranked top 3 in the most dangerous terrorist groups category world wide.
Kudos to the Nigerian military in keeping BH at Bay in the North East and not letting them consume us all

I thought they (Buhari, Sanw-olu and co) claimed no live was lost? We lost more than 51' civilians.
Nonsense!
stop misleading people. Buhari is talking about deaths Nationwide. And can you show us where Buhari said nobody died? His uninspiring speech even acknowledged that people died. Sanwo Olu was talking about lekki shootings when he said nobody died, but later acknowledged two deaths thereafter from the incident. Or are you finding is difficult to understand the news. Simply put, the news is about people who sadly died during the protests nationwide and is not about lekki shootings alone

Thought one Femi Adesina claimed Buhari deliberately omitted mentioning d deaths during this struggle cos it's under investigation and would be too early to do so. Honestly I feel d greatest undoing a leader would have is having sycophants around him/her who rather than telling him d truth and apologize on his behalf when necessary would rather be ass-licking and make such leader appear infallible. Femi Adesina would be remembered in history as one of those that often twisted narrative to be in d good books of d tyrants against common truth and conscience. Imagine if in d broadcast Buhari observed a one minute silence for d souls of those that died!!!.
Were the figures mentioned specific to the lekki shootings? Femi was specifically talking about lekki shootings, the president is talking about recorded deaths during the protests nationwide. Two different things apart. And for the records, Buhari mentioned about people that died during the struggle in his speech, go and read again. He didn't mention the lekki shootings though, but that does not mean you should be mixing things up the way you did, which can result to misinformation
I am just trying to throw more light on your mix up, so don't pick offence and start name calling

You are a bit naive and ignorant at the same time. Do you know how many times ASUU used this tactic only for the government to totally back out? Don't think you know more than those lecturers fighting for their rights and that of the public universities, which are glorified secondary schools due to gross negligence by government. I wonder why people still look at ASUU as the bad guys, why politicians steal money in billions meant for development including the education sector. FG should better man up and fulfill all previous agreements and improve our public institutions instead of grandstanding

ASUU seems to be the only union in this country that can bend the arm of the government till they get what they want. Hope this will mark the end of the strike.
But was the strike really about IPPIS? They were already on strike due to non implementation of various agreements with government. The IPPIS issue came in later

I personally do not like the way ASUU arrogantly dictate to their employer on the preferred platform for their payment.

However seeing that the UTAS is more of local content makes it commendable.

Our ivory towers should be providing solutions to the myriads of problems facing us as a nation.

Buy Naija to grow Naija.
There is nothing arrogant about ASUU on IPPIS. It is all about a group of people who know their right and exercise it when needed. Why must they accept IPPIS which is full of errors regarding their payments. An employee should never look at himself as a slave to the employer. You are offering hard earned skills to whoever employ you and they are doing you no favor by employing you in the first place.
EducationRe: FG Considers ASUU's UTAS As Alternative To IPPIS by zikter(m): 8:20am On Oct 14, 2020
ASUU should just hold on for the real issues to be resolved. Our public universities are nothing to write home about.

Ask SSANU, NASU, PENGASSAN etc who are protesting to be out. The system is a mess and does not take into cognizant, some allowances like sabbatical that are unique to the university system. Nothing that our government wants to do that they will do it right. I side with ASUU on this, let them be on strike for as long as our government is ready to improve public education system. Mind you, the strike was started due to a series of breach of MoU signed between ASUU and FG. IPPIS is just adding salt to injury

200k isn't a well paid job, some people are having salary as much as 350k 400k, now you are paid 200k and your boss insult you, that is harassment, harassment is the personal insult and expression of disgust or intolerance towards certain people or person or race and this is punishable offense according to the labour law in nigeria, if you continue to keep that 200k job with insult, your boss will continue to issue you query and that you are incompetent in the discharge of your duty which might eventually lead to sack, so report any harassment at work place to the HR and make sure you have evidence to support your claims
If your boss is the owner of the company nko

Always think about all sides of life. What about people earning 30k, 50k,70k and all sorts, yet you said 200k was not a well paid job. Bro, endure till you get a better one. If a friend disappoints you once, you would know the essence of earning as little as possible compared to begging.
Exactly my point, that is why the use of fat salary in ops post is relative. For someone who gets 10ka month, 200k is a very fat salary. Some people earn 5m but others still look at it as very poor salary. So it is all relative

200K a month is not a fat salary!
Well, your definition of fat salary maybe peanut salary to another person. You can now see that, what the op said is relative. Some people collect 10k per month, to them a 200k salary is more than fat.

you have to spread ur tentacles wide to earn such amount, beside you can't earn that amount through salary.
well, people earn more than that in a month as salary, depending on the organization and level attained. That is not to disregard 200k a month anyway, it is still relatively fat .

This ASUU strike is two faced. Sincerely I don't know what ASUU is really fighting for.
Is it IPPIS, autonomy or revitalization of universities.
It seems they are really loud With the IPPIS issue.

FG is not being sincere at all. its not like I'm supporting ASUU but FG should look for a way to settle this issue.
Since ASUU has proposed an alternative, why not look at it and come up with a conclusion on what to do.

ASUU should look for other means to hold FG by the balls rather than using this 1970 old trick. These incessant strike is really Killing what they claim they are fighting for(education). Education in nigeria is not really attractive anymore due to these strike here and there.

Students on the other hand should look for what to do rather than waste away at home.
Look for a job even if its 5k(just to keep body and soul together), Learn a skill(this one will require money but if you have the money start now) or if your course has an IT attached to it look for one and intern there. Just engage yourself in something productive.
Anytime ASUU and FG decide to call it a truce you will be glad you didn't waste all your time doing nothing.
To be candid, ASUU went on strike before IPPIS issue came up. The strike was due to signed agreements which the government failed to implement, autonomy was the main issue in the agreement. I will expressly support ASUU on this. FG is too insincere with our education, no funding resulting to poverty of everything in the system.

These people have made up their minds to completely destroy the public university system.

Is this what a professors takes home in the universities that their own children do attend?

342,000 per month (less than $1,000) after about 20 years in service, and so many promotions.

This is just the end of the public university in Nigeria.
Just like the public secondary schools are shadows. It is a pity many people don't look beyond the deceit by FG, but instead chose to pick on ASUU

It is well

The Fed Government always use their might to intimidate and coerce people who doesn’t dance to their tunes. Police killing peaceful EndSars protest; Arresting Revolution protesters; And highest paid idle legislators now intimidating and stopping salaries of Meagerly paid lecturers who are the lowest paid in the world.

When I was a student, I didn’t realize what ASUU was fighting for because I wanted to graduate on time. Today, nothing has changed neither improved from the same institutions that fought in the past. NLC and others chickened out but this is the only institution that fights to the last

The little evident improvement, if any, is the fight and struggles of heroes past. There has never been a time when students fight Government for better education in this country because we all want to graduate on time which I always wished for too at that time. Now our kith and kins are suffering the same fate.

Students being in an overcrowded classrooms
No infrastructural developements
Decaying educational standards
Some private school teachers earn more than PhD holders.
Politicians earning fat with little contribution to the economy.
Rickety and old fashioned libraries that can’t match up some African standard let alone international standard.

Put ASUU to shame- since that’s what we want from a propaganda lord. Salaries has been stopped for some from March while some from June.

How will you be negotiating better education for over 20 years in a country earning fat from oil?

Let us put ASUU to shame and resume

Status quo remains the same.
You made a lot of sense in your comment. FG should stop grandstanding, man up and make our universities a better learning place. ASUU is never the problem, under funding is. It is a pity interacting with many public University graduates, especially in recent years. The standard is going down daily and it is saddening. ASUU is the scapegoat now, that same system is already full of ghost workers if you audit it properly.

The reason they are going on strike is because ASUU was beginning to taunt them abi some of IPPIS teething problems. If FG succorms to ASUU demands, then many other organizations will want to pull out and go back to the opague system.

Make una commot and see the outside world away from hiding inside university community, no where do on earth does an employee tell an employer how the method he wants to be paid with
I am not a lecturer anyway. But an employee is neither a slave to an employer as well. You cannot just be taking anything thrown at you because you are an employee. Again, no where in a sane country is the education system so poorly funded by government. There were talks of University autonomy since many years ago but nothing has happened.
Additionally, why must the system have "teething" problems and not take off smoothly? Are we cursed not to do something quality right first time? Like I said students will only continue to suffer for no just cause which unfair on government part especially
EducationRe: Buhari: Only University Lecturers On IPPIS Would Get Salaries by zikter(m): 9:17pm On Oct 08, 2020

This is a right step in the right direction. If ASUU have nothing to hide, let them embrace IPPIS. This will even open more employment opportunities for unemployed youths and graduates
The thing is, even those who embraced it are agitating to be taken out. NASU and SSANU have declared two weeks warning strike already. The system like any other thing in Nigeria is already corrupt with ghost workers. Students will only be the victim of all of this

Add up the minutes, do the math:

...."was filled the preceding day had 10 minutes of engine run and 20 minutes of test flight is on it same day in Port Harcourt.
“The helicopter has an endurance of 3:24h. The operational flight plan filed by the pilot indicated an endurance of 3:15h and an estimated flight time of 2:45h. The helicopter engine was started at 09:15h. The helicopter took off at 09:20h.The helicopter crashed at 12:14h."

Helicopter was started at 09:15h , crashed at 12:14h.

Difference of 02:59h.

Add this to the 10 mins of engine run and 20 mins of test flight.

That gives us 03:29h.

Endurance capacity of helicopter 03:24h

The helicopter was out of fuel. Q.E.D.
Thumbs up man. The other guy is just talking without facts. He cannot provide a proof that this copter has the capacity to dump fuel, AIB said it didn't but the guy is hammering NCCA constantly. I believe the pilot simply run out of fuel

This implies Obaseki is very strong and always willing notwithstanding the support from his loyal deputy. If Ambode had the right cartels, Lagos would be long free from godfatherism
majorly, the PDP platform in Lagos in too shaky. In short, the politics dynamics of Lagos and Edo are too far apart to compare Ambode and Obasaki situations. APC as a party are well aware of what Lagos brings to the table and Kano as well, same as Rivers for PDP. So Ambode did not just have any way around it, once the party decision was against him.
