Zane2point4:Very correct, one person will use false identify and false everything to collect and disappear in thin air |
Both parties will rig. Let nobody should come here to complain if their party lose on Saturday. |
ebuka1997:Over 90 percent of Indians in Nigeria are here working for Indian owned company. How many Nigerians are in India working for Nigerian owned companies in India? Our manufacturing sector is largely controlled by Indians. I gave you about six sectors of economy where we are no where close to them. You have to admit if you are sincere enough. Now you are talking about per capital income and employment ratios. We do use population to always puncture this argument with UAE. Our population is not up to one quarter of India population. Let's assume we are about 250m people, India is estimated to be 1.3b people, if Nigeria was half as populated as India, imagine the kind of per capital income compare to the resources we will be talking about. We we just be sleeping in gutters. Ironically, Nigeria was rated higher than India as having the more potential to attain the status of a developed nations faster than India, but look at where we are compare to them. There is no sector that we can boast about that can even compete with any of theirs. At this level we are going, I feel we are no where near them and worse off, we are not even making efforts enough to close the gap. It is rather widening. It is fine to be optimistic, but this is the reality in my opinion. |
ebuka1997:Trash? Can you please compare Nigeria with India on any sector of the economy to educate me me? I would like to learn from you. And what do you mean by world capital of poverty? Like I told someone before, poverty is everywhere including the most developed nations. Now let's come back to India vs Nigeria and what each country can contribute globally in key areas. Educationally-Their standard is far above ours, we scramble for visa to go study there. Health-care-They are among one of the best and most competitive health care giver in the world. What do we have here? We run there to get medical treatment. Industrially-India is again miles ahead, we buy machines from them for our industries. They are the ones building the largest refinery in Africa for Dangote. Their pharmaceutical industry is top there with the best, supplying drugs to the US as well. Agriculturally- Again they Trump us by far, we import ordinary rice from them. Technologically- Again they are the best in IT globally. Remind me what we do here. Militarily-India is a powerhouse as well, almost there with the super powers. Again, this is not to bash Nigeria, but just what it is. I will be the happiest person in the world if my Country earns half of the respect India earns among the league of nations. It is high time we started telling ourselves the truth so that we can make amends. Please do not hesitate to convince me how Nigeria and India are on the same level. I will be glad to know. Regards. |
Rosskii:If you going to have a nice conversation with me then you have got to be civil and not uncouth. Firstly, I am not in any way displaying inferiority complex here, rather saying the reality. You put up pictures of slums in india up there to justify your claims. Secondly, I did not say poverty is not in India, for your information, even in the USA there are poverty stricken areas, same in China and every where. But I insist India as a Nation is far ahead of Nigeria. What sector of in Nigeria are you comparing with India exactly? Medically- They are among the topmost, hence we troop there for medical tourism. One of the best pharmaceutical hub globally. Technologically- They are a world power, the brain child of IT globally. Agriculturally- What exactly do we export to them, rather we import their rice and other agricultural products. Militarily- They are a military world power to an extent. Industrially- They are far more industrialize than us. We buy our machines for manufacturing from them. Even entertainment wise, we consume their Bollywood here more than our own Nollywood. So perhaps you can point out to me what exactly we are better than them with. Look it is not a matter of sentiments, slave mentality, inferiority complex or what have you. It is simply a matter of fact that you cannot logically dispute, that India is far ahead of Nigeria in all economic and developmental indices. I would appreciate a more robust and respectful reply than what you did up there. I believe you are capable of doing better than that. |
RTSC:We are talking about general attitude to work here, remember. Yes, India may not be a definition of proper management as you said, but they are still well ahead of Nigerians, management wise. This is why in private sector, they survive far longer than Nigerian manage enterprises. Again, India as a Country is miles ahead of Nigeria in all indices. An average Indian is more trusted generally than an average Nigerian on the same level of skills. This is sadly due to our battered image in all facets of criminality, be it drugs, corruption, internet fraud etc. |
ebuka1997:I do not know about that, I am talking about my country and the reality of what is on the ground. You cannot deny the fact that, Nigerians are suspects all over the world. Ask yourself why and then you will understand the basis of discussion. |
RTSC:As you are very confident of Nigerians managing things, how come the country with abundant resources including human is the way it is? Look there is a reason for that, poor management both in politics, government sectors, private organizations, NGO and what have you. As I said before, MOST Nigerians regardless of social and whatever status they they found themselves have higher tendencies of short changing each other. Again, there is a reason why we are where we are today. It is nothing aside pure mismanagement, no matter how you try to sugar coat it. And again do you know how many medium and large scale industries are owned and manage by foreigners, mostly Indians in Nigeria? They are the majority. Even the few surviving Nigerian companies of worth are still driven by these foreigners. |
RTSC:This is never nonsense. If you have not experienced it, don't say what you don't know. Even in the banking sector you mentioned, many banks managed by Nigerians are no more and mostly due to mismanagement. On many occasions banks employees have orchestrated fraud on customers accounts and involved in robberies as well. If not because of strong capitalization initiated by Sanusi, most of the banks would have gone by now. Note the word mostly in my assertions, meaning not all Nigerians are like that. But as always, the majority group will drive the narrative about a nation. And sadly, most Nigerians are crooks in one way or the other, hence the general public perception we are experiencing now |
softset:This is the Koko of the matter. Put a Nigerian there and most likely all he thinks of is how to fraudulently line his pocket with your money without the technical capability to even deliver on the job. He may have tried them as you said, but as usual endless excuses and complaint with other things might have seriously discouraged him or her. |
Jman06:No, ASUU is not the ones disregarding the plight of the students but government. Be sincere with yourself, are you happy with the standard of education in our public schools? Look at the state of infrastructures, non equipped laboratories etc. Check out the reason why ASUU is always on strike, it is mostly about adequate funding, university autonomy and so on. Like I said before, strike is never a first option with ASUU, they will usually negotiate everything on a round table with government, sign all agreements with a timeline of implementation. Then, the government will disregard everything, ASUU will protest by going on strike(at least the only language government tend to understand), and the cycle continues. For me the government has the blame here squarely, let the honor signed agreements and stop grandstanding. |
Jman06:You may not be correct, strike is a legal too in labour laws anywhere, and as a matter of fact, legally recognize by ILO. Workers are free to go on strike when necessary during labour disputes and are not to be victimize in any way by the employer. But the concept of no work no pay is illegal. That is why it has never worked, all these monies owed to them will still be paid to the last kobo at last. So, why owe in the first place? Again, note that ASUU case in particular is as a result of a series of agreements and MoUs which the government has violated severally after signing. Before you misjudge ASUU again, such agreements are not all about their pockets(though they are poorly paid), but for the overall improvement of our almost worthless education system. |
This non payment of salaries to lecturers is uncalled for. Politicians are never owed a fine despite their fat allowances |
Beedude:I think you are misunderstanding the whole saga. No body begged him to stay per se. Laliga and Barca simply said if he wants to leave, 700m euros will be made available by any club willing to take him, as against him going free. Actually, he was told he has a contract and must abide by it. That is not same as begging him. If Ronaldo just stood up that he wants to leave Real for free at that time, nobody would have allowed that. So remove the word beg. |
Even internal party elections must be tampered with in this country. No elections in this Country go without rigging, from NMA, NBA to national elections. Look at PDP disgracing themselves, the so called number one opposition party. Pathetic lots |
Hmm, James, popularly pronounced Hames that year. How the mighty have fallen |
Kaduna1stson:So when you hear nuclear power, the next thing that comes to your mind is nuclear bomb. What has nuclear energy got to do with nuclear bomb? |
jaxxy:The GEJ tenure made bastard money from crude oil high prices. More than twice when Buhari came in. There was much more money to loot and still maintain the economy. |

flyingpig:sheybi the other man gave them better SUVs plus money |
oluDharay:Please don't say waste. When Barca bought those players, they were among the hottest and most in formed players in their clubs. That they did not replicate the form at Barca does not mean it was waste. They may still pick up next season |
Sandra4luv:Was it not your choice to give them 5k? You should have refused and simply allow them to arrest you and charge you according to the state traffic laws, but i guess you did not want to go that route, hence the easier one of settling. It is a sad situation but citizens should no exonerate themselves from the mess. 90% of the times, violators prefer to induce the officers and go rather than facing the law, a win win situation for the rouge officers and the rouge offenders. |
Kaydans:You may be right, but in this case the guy you quoted is absolutely correct on the fake news part from the lady. The patient was brought in by LASEMA, RRS etc which are government agencies in a government hospital. How then could a police report be demanded for? I can't believe people will even buy into the fake story. Finally, she even confessed not being an eyewitness, pure hearsay which makes her more disgusting. People like this need to be seriously dealt with by applicable laws |
PDPdestroyer:Very mentally lazy people on nairaland. This is heartbreaking |
SheikhMuniru:Yes, I meant it is not only in Nigeria. I wanted to believe the assertion without a doubt, so I did a quick Google search and discovered other countries where planes were pushed as well |
SheikhMuniru:I don't think so |
GOFRONT:But is UK a member of EU? |
Almost all the papers coming out with apologies to VP on one issue or another. This is pathetic journalism. To think that many unfortunate people were protesting and shouting press freedom when the VP was protesting his innocence is appalling |
intruder15:OBJ really committed despicable abominations during his tenure. Funny enough, he has the guts to be criticising others. No democratic president during this new dispensation is as half as dictatorial as OBJ. Is it randomly sacking Senate presidents or sending army to level innocent communities? The list is endless |
NewDelhi:I heard it too. Sahara reporters I think. I hate fake news |
This is encouraging. Infrastructure wise, this government is trying. The biggest challenge now is that of insecurity |
Wordson:Bayern d cook am inside pot, e go done very soon |
