Let anybody that wants to pay tithe pay ooooo. This horse has been over flogged. The answer is in the bible but because Africans don't read and believe words from their pastors that twist the Bible for them they will continuing being gullible and scammed. I thank God he has blessed me to be able to send something substantial every month. Afterall they took care of me and paid my bills till I got a job. If anything, there are poor and vulnerable people all over the world and I know how I can legitimately reach them. But for me to give my hardwork to one pastor to fuel private jet or purchase Gucci? When I'm not cursed.

I know a lot of people will say "Touch not my annointed and do my prophets no harm...." but sometimes the truth must just be said. I know this post may be a little long but please be patient, I'm driving at a very crucial point. One disclaimer is that I'm not a bible scholar but I have a fair understanding of some of this things I talk about from my reading the bible.

First to make it clear. I know DaddyFreeze has over-explained this but I will restate it again. The tithe that a lot of people are paying is an old testament law to feed and provide for the Levites who did not do any commercial work. The Levites was a tribe of priests whose sole and only work was to communicate to God on behalf of worshippers because woshippers were not allowed to do so directly because of the veil in the temple. People could not directly communicate with God then. Nowadays we don't have Levites. There is no need for them.Jesus died and resurrected. The veil has been torn. We can access God directly through Jesus Christ, personally.

Secondly, to make it clear again, this tithe was never a rigid 10 percent as is currently preached. Worshippers were supposed to donate to the temple i.e levites, I believe for 2 years, 10 percent of all their produce. On the third year, they were supposed to take the 10 percent and use it for a vacation of some sorts for themselves and their families. Vacation in the bibles words and times were to go somewhere with their family and enjoy themselves with strong drink. (If you think I'm lying, what I'm saying is right there in the bible). In any case, as I have said this practice was before the early church.

Now to the early Church, what they practised was not tithing but communal/sacrificial giving. And it's clearly documented all over the new testament in the early church. What would happen is that people would sell their properties, bring their income to the church etc and it would be shared especially to the poor, widows and most vulnerable church members. It wasn't by compulsion but it was optional. Part of it was used to take care of the disciples e.g Paul but he personally recommended against it and worked so he wouldn't uneccesarily burden the church.

Now to today, you can see what is been practiced is not communal/sacrificial giving. What is being practiced is a corrupt extractive system that caters mostly for the Daddy G.O and his family where the poor, widows and vulnerable are left stranded and not catered for. It is just similar to the corrupt political system we run in Nigeria where govt funds from taxes and the commonwealth of the country are siphoned into private pockets while the citizens and tax payers get no infrastructure, no good roads, no good healthcare, no security and no light. That is why often you see pastors and politicians in bed with each other because they are agents of the same destruction and crime.

At the end of the day, as we have Coronavirus we can see that the church is not functional, because if it was, even in this trying era and just as the disciples faced persecution in the early church, all church members should still be catered for and none should go hungry. The church should have been a shining beacon to other religion and even provide help to them if it was not extractive. I see no better way to evangalize than helping say a muslim or hindu in their time of need to meet basic necessities in this trying times. The church should have had a supply chain in place of reaching the poor and vulnerable in the COVID era if that had been their major focus all along. The govt should actually be reaching out to the church to use the church's mastery of the supply chain helping vulnerable people to distribute it's palliatives to Nigeria at large. The Nigerian church would have been an essential service.

Finally, what I will advice David Oyedepo to do rather than clamouring for the opening of his "non-essential" church is to take one of his multiple private jets (that we said were not needed then but people said who are we to question their G.O), and get Nigeria an airload of testkits, masks and other PPEs from China. So we can get out of this mess quickly.

WHO that said only sick people should wear face masks in the early stages of covid. This WHO sef. They seem to have a big Pharma agenda nowadays. I know it is wrong for the President of Madagascar to claim something is a cure if it has not be scientifically tested or proven but I would expect that an international organization of great repute such as WHO should be above this and not dismiss a potential solution without backing the dismissal up with a scientific study especially when many scientist are trying to find a solution. WHO fall hand yet again.

Seun:
There is a disconnect between the needs of the NCDC and the gifts being sent to them. We need test kits, RNA extraction kits, PPE for healthcare workers, masks for citizens, reagents for the tests, and the equipment and skilled technicians needed to setup Coronavirus testing labs in every major city so that test samples can be processed without delay.

Instead of these, they are sending us ventilators that we don’t yet need. Why? If your condition has deteriorated to the point where you need a ventilator, it has already gone too far because your prognosis is not good. Not allowing patients to deteriorate to that extent should be our priority right now (though it is nice to have more ventilators)

I think the NCDC is not adequately communicating its most urgent needs to defeat the virus and that is why we are receiving many gifts and promises that are not immediately helpful while our more urgent needs are not being met. Trump should send test kits instead. The US produces a lot of them.
Hahaha. You're quite funny Seun. The U. S will not give out its test kits. They need more of them. Test kits will prevent people from infecting others that will get sick in the first place. The ventilators? Not quite much. They are not as useful as they were made to seem. A very large percentage of people on ventilators usually don't survive as their case is already bad. Remember U. S is now the "Ventilator King." All the efforts used to produce and procure ventilators should have been used in promoting masks. Anyway in America everything is politics far right vs far left.
I won't be surprised if the ventilator agenda was being pushed by hospitals that will charge health insurance companies 32000 dollars for intubating patients. One of the ills of U. S Capitalism.

I'm not here to be for or against the conspiracy theory against Bill Gates. Everyone can look at the information online and form their own opinion.

What I just wanted to mention was that ever since the U. S govt has withdrawn is funding from WHO, Bill Gates is now the largest sponsor of WHO. The greatest sponsor of WHO right now is not a government. Governments no matter how corrupt are usually still afixed with check and balances that curtail misfunction. But a person or corporation being the highest "shareholder" of the WHO which is in charge of global public health is really scary.

Hello All!

I have about 12 to 14 million naira in treasury bills. Things were pretty good as I had been doing this for years since naira was pretty stable. But the naira was devalued in March. I'm beginning to feel like Nigerian treasury bills is not even a good way to keep the value of your money. Since the money is always been devalued for example in March this year. What is the point of huge interest rate that will eventually get devalued.

Does anyone here know of somewhere I can invest this money and still keep the value. Note I'm a longterm investor and I prefer to play it safe with manageable interests as long as my initial capital's value is kept.
Thanks in anticipation.

What are you saying? Please stop this it's evil.

You want to dismiss it's efficacy, but it's being used and positive result is achieved.

What do you mean by concrete evidence?

There is a pandemic, You say it's novel, you say there's no cure, you claim people are dying, a possible respite is available, it's tried and it appears to work, you go against it's use without providing an alternative! Haba!!!!

In a pandemic ooo!!!!, You claim people are dying, you are always pushing over the Media, that nothing works against the virus, any effort people make to stay alive is dismissed immediately. Except for a non existent vaccine.

Those are the stance of witchcraft! blood thirsty people, and it's satanic. QED
Thank God you said appears to work. Should chloroquine be given to corona patients? Certainly since there is no better proven regimen out there and it may actually work. Is there any scientific evidence that it actually works or its efficacy is just coincidental? To get the answer to that you will need to carry out proper drug trial with adequate controls. This is what the president should have said. There are 1000s of people that are willing to try it out since there is no proven medicine. Why not give the medicine to one group and then not to the other group. Balance both groups for age and pre-existing conditions and look at how quick both groups responded to treatment. That is how science is done. Not one random senator someone claiming that because she took hydroxy chloroquine and she got better therefore it will work for everyone else. That is nothing but junk science.

Can you name the experts in number-3

Also are you amongst those dismissing the use of chloroquine, even when it's currently being used?

A lot of doctors in the front line have admitted using it, both in Europe and the US. A democratic State legislature testified how she was saved after being administered the drugs. It's on YouTube.

Those who are being discharged, what are they giving them.

Do you just want people to do nothing? They should just wait, get complications and die?

Is all these about Trump? because you're making it seem so. It's becoming suspicious.

Why do you want to dismiss so called conspiracy theories. But want to give credence to those who don't want you to do anything, until the person dies so they can form stupid statistics.

Those who say, there's no human to human transmission

Those who say don't administer chloroquine, even when it works. Rather we should wait for a vaccine while people die. It's evil and suspicious

Those who say don't put on face mask, it's not necessary. Now people are now enforcing the use of face mask.

You think those who don't want to align with them are foolish?

You need to calm down and interrogate yourself.

Are you being manipulated?

Think do not be an agent without knowing.
For the fact that doctors are using it doesn't mean it's proven to work. I guess you do not have a scientific mind. For the fact that one senator somewherr used one drug and then she started getting better doesn't mean it's the medication that made her better. In fact I know of a specific story in which someone used the chloroquine and the person still passed on. My point is that the efficacy of chloroquine could be entirely coincidental. You will need to consider a lot of factors and carry out a proper study because people get better even without using any medications. Some have the virus in their body and don't even show any symptoms at all. Any sensible scientific study that is testing a drug will have a control. I'm not saying chloroquine doesn't work. It possibly does. I'm saying there is no concrete evidence that backs it up. Science relies almost purely on evidence.

Ps: I always supported that everyone should use masks regardless of what anyone said because it's just common sense.

Halopy:
I knew people like you who hates the truth or are rather gullible swallowing anything they tell you without doing your own research will come for me,

Firstly, there was never an official agreement to stop naming a pandemic after its origin, there are many issues like political, economic and diplomatic overtones in naming a virus. for example, the 2009 flu was discovered in Mexico, and they named it swine flu because, Thailand, Israel and some other countries rejected that name and insisted it must be called mexican flu because it affected the pork business globally, It was the USA that intervened and named it H1N1 its scientific name.

And this particular corona virus wasn't named Wuhan virus because some scientists lobbied for covid 19 apparently for reasons best known to them on excuses that there are more than 17 viruses attached to Wuhan alone from cricket virus to mosquito virus even zika. Not because of discrimination if any sort against Wuhan people. Read from bbc published article https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200214-coronavirus-swine-flu-and-sars-how-viruses-get-their-names

2. That there is no study that chloroquine works is laughable. It shows you are nit in touch with realities. The FDA approved it after several clinical trials and up to date USA is using it coupled with some other drugs to treat the pneumonia caused by covid 19, just like Nigeria most people who died in USA have other health issues and they already have more than 87,000 people well treated and discharged from hospitals.

3. Saying how Nigeria keep the rate of infection under 1000 as credit is another reason I should not answer you again. Firstly Nigeria is not testing anywhere near USA or even south Africa here. Now that Lagos have about 20 sample collection centers in this week alone New confirmed cases as at yesterday was 91 cases. Which shows if more people are tested you will be amazed at how community transmission can be deadly in dealing with a contagious virus as this. And it was this your WHO that insisted mask is not necessary if your not already infected.

If it has entered Nigeria the time it got to USA, i fear Nigeria would have become the world epicenter by now. Another grace Nigeria is enjoying is that we rather have a warm weather that reduced the community transmission to only human contacts.
I don't even have time to argue with you because you think you know a lot but u don't. WHO discourages naming viruses after places. Go to their website. It is there. Also, nobody has stopped anyone from using any medication to treat coronavirus. WHO releases GUIDELINES. Guidelines are what they are and it is left for each country to decide what to do with them. They are not mandatory. How come in spite of the earlier guidelines by WHO that only sick people should wear mask. South Korea and China fully enforced wearing of masks in their country. And to say that U. S is handling the situation better than others is laughable. How come you country like South Korea has been able to manage the situation and keep figures low. You can't say the only reason that U. S has high cases is because of testing. No matter how much you test or don't test, one thing you cannot hide for long is how much people are dying. At some point it will get exposed just the way nobody believes China's reports. A whole U. S blaming WHO for their gafes is just very laughable. If they really were the superpower with the superior intelligence that they claim, people should have been wearing masks there since Janaury. It's just April and people are already protesting to end the lockdown yet there is still no clear countrywide policy on enforcing wearing of masks.

The way WHO handled the matter under this present regime is the worst so far, starting from the naming of the virus, going by presence, such pandemics are named after the town or area it was discovered, for example, the Asian flu of 1956, hong kong flu, 1968, Spanish virus, Eboka named after river Ebola in Congo, even Lassa fever here was named after Lassa town in Borno state. Why this corona not named Wuhan virus? It simply shows the double standard and politics of WHO. They have not be sincere since day one. They were covering this because they were covering China, they sabotaged use of hydroxyl chloroquine as a possible treatment because the world powers lobbied them because they want to use this opportunity to bring in their vaccine to achieve the new world order. They connived with India not to supply chloroquine to USA. Now they are saying it will be with us for a long time.

Anyway that's not for us in Nigeria. We reject it in Jesus name. We will not take your vaccine and we will be OK. We are rugged and we will use our herbs it will leave Nigeria the way it came. I just wish we have a sensible government.
A fellow ignorant person like you will read what you wrote now and think it is making sense not knowing all you wrote there is utter rubbish. I will dispute your nonsense
1) Naming a virus after a location has been found out to be discriminatory especially against people of that place. That is why WHO has stopped doing that. Also, the fact that the Covid19 was first discovered in Nigeria doesn't mean it originated there.
2) There is no proven study that hydroxyl chloroquine works. To test a medication or therapy, you must have good control with checks and balances. Covid19 has about 3 % to 10% mortality rate. It's also more serious in older people and people with exisiting health conditions. It could be a coincidence that it works in one group against the other if the control is not well established for example if one group has way more older people or people with existing conditions.
3)Blaming WHO is dumb. WHO had always taken it seriously. Their major gafe has been not encouraging widespread use of masks irresprective of if you're showing symptoms or not. 20% are asymptomatic. But are you telling me that with all the experts and intelligence U.S has they need to rely on WHO to warn them of what was coming?? So if China say wanted to destroy U.S with a biological virus, is this how easy it would be? I do not believe they didn't know what was coming but they put economy over people and the politicians didn't listen to the experts. Even many hotspot areas in the U.S dont have masks and hand sanitizers in adequate supply so people can protect themselves and also curtail the spread.4) How is it that Nigeria a developing country is able to curtail the spread to under 1000 while U.S is just blowing up and blowing up?
