ogugua88: I'm not smearing them. I'm explaining what has happened dating back to July 2011. Sure, cancellations of shows is normal, but it's NOT normal for them to not issue refunds.

Wizkid, Skales, and Banky W are representatives of EME. They hyped the show. They told everyone they were coming when they knew they weren't. EME AND those three artists will not hear the end of this.
But seriously, how could you make payment online without using paypal? Kai! NEVER make any payment without using paypal next time. Paypal often protect buyers than sellers and with paypal you dont have to reveal your credit card details.

tanimola22: Hi,

I don't know the specific figure, but someone with an OND should be ecstatically jocund that he/she is even given an opportunity to attend a job assessment for an offshore position at Total. I say this because anything more than 80K is very fair for a such a person (considering the current state of unemployment in naija), and total won't offer less than this.

Meanwhile, I am curious to know what the exact figure is. I will ring my friend and later get back to you.

T22.
T22... You have given your best in areas you are quite knowledgeable in. So, let me help here.

I have friends who got into TOTAL at OND entry level and I should have been among them but God knows why.

@chyvy, the answer to your question is that TOTAL pays well at OND entry level but I do not know what other fields will consume as per salary but I believe the differences wouldnt be much.

For most of my guys who got in, one bought a duplex in Lagos, another and another one (as at the last time we spoke) said he is building his house... And generally, all the OND holders at TOTAL can afford a brand new car. No Kidding. For those that own houses, it does not mean that TOTAL pay them in millions but there is a special package TOTAL often give their staff after training( the pay go make u kolo o) and it is from there that they get money to build or by a house.

You should receive nothing less than 260-300k/shift... At least,by gauging my friends who are in the operator field.

Hope this helps...

I even wrote to Seun about the way the business section is being handled and I made him to understand that if things were done rightly, nairaland has the capacity to transform lives money-wise. But NEVER got a reply, not even to acknowledge that I care about the future of this forum. Tell me, he I had an idea, do you think I would want to share?

I belong to an international business forum with a population far greater than NL but hardly do you see nonsense post.

It only a matter of time before Nairaland get displaced. Go ask hi5, myspace, yahoo.

pdudy: @Seun- I as a nairaland user was very angry at the recent developments cos I was sent the mail. But in expressing my displeasure, I was banned by you and your mods (my username pDude). Is this how to run a business? Like a Nazi?

I believe r231 should be disciplined by you (if you are serious about your site) because he was very rude and abusive to me and also he was very clueless to what was happening which make him an incompetent customer service representative.
Even the one at the business section does not know the work of a moderator... That's why people get scammed on there. I wrote to Seun at his gmail account but never got a reply.

How could you be a moderator and someone is scamming and you couldnt do anything? People come on the business section and post nonsense that are of no value, everybody is a seller... But when I wrote a thread on things should be done and to show the basic rules for business which also help to educate members as a way to prevent being scammed, the mod move that thread to the advert section. But a week before that, someone called alparifx came on board claiming to have something to sell and under the watchful eyes of a mod, he scammed them.

All the mod could say is that they cant monitor all post. Really? In fact, why should there be a moderator if we already have a spam bot?

start by warning some of your mods.

look around nl for other suggestions on what to do.
Thank God that this came up. The truth is no one is save here because the mods in the business section has some suspicous and weird attitude to forum post.

They would allow good post to be hidden and the fraudulent ones are visible.

When one alparifx scammed member of this forum, I wrote a thread about wanting to educate people about on business so that they could learn and also be able to avoid scam. But what did the mod do? He moved that thread from business section to advert sect. What can you make of this?

The only mod whom I can say is very much alert is Justwise.

Kobojunkie: All you have done is give excuses, like so many others, for why you choose not to do what even the God you worship( I am guessing you are either Christian or Muslim) COMMANDS.

You do not base your decision to give the next man on what the previous man did, or what someone else experienced.

You give and let go. Not give and feel that it is then your place to put shackles around the person you have given help to EXPECTING something(reward, kindness, etc) in return. That is not giving. That is simply you trying to buy some favour, reward, kindness etc.
you are getting it all wrong. The OP asked a question and I am trying to make him see reasons why some people would refuse to help not because they dont want to or are wicked.

This problem has spread like cancerous cells.

Bro, if you knew me, you wouldnt talk like this. I believe in giving. I so much do... And I live by the grace of giving. Read my post in page 2 or 3
FamilyRe: Why Do We Refuse To Help People Financially? by 2sexy(m): 6:39am On Aug 14, 2012
Nairalanders, if you ask someone for help and the person refuse, do not blame him or her. Because you dont know what he has go through.

That's what I do. I could give over 10 instances where my late mother had helped people but wrongly rewarded. She was a typical "generous to a fault" I too have that in me but I also use common sense so that I dont get burnt.

Maybe its also the blessing of my mum helping people that has brought me this far, i dont really cos I hardly lack anything.

Anyway, here is another one. How many of you know Teslim Balogun Stadium near the National Stadium? I bet a lot here do, especially if you are a Lagosian.

My late mother and a Bulgarian with a construction company started the foundation of that stadium back in late 80s. She was awarded the contract to supply all the building material needed... You could imagine the money such a woman would be handling.

Being who she was, she brought in her aunt's sons to come and work and place them in top position. It was from there one had money to travel to the U. States in the 90s and came back after some years. He went and came back three times and couldnt go back for God knows why.

It wasnt long before he came with and aunt and started accusing my mother of witch craft and that, she is the reason he cant go back. Really? A woman that clothed you, fed you, sheltered you and brought you all the way from Bauchi to come and work where you got money to travel out?

I was with my mum in the palour while all this were going on and not even up to 9 years then. But that memory lingered in me and my siblings. My elder sister was just weeping.
FamilyRe: Why Do We Refuse To Help People Financially? by 2sexy(m): 3:54pm On Aug 13, 2012
Just like acidtalk said, I too can only speak for myself.

The truth is that givers never lack and I can testify to that. The bible also said "... Give and ye shall receive"

yes, most Nigerians have evil mind such that when you look at life, you wouldnt want to help another. A guy came into our home and my mum being a good woman, helped him. It wasnt long before he started fabricating stories. This guy is a good actor such that, he knows how sheard REAL tears and under such condition, you would believe him.

When I came back from school and I being a very observant but gentle. I hardly talk much. I called my mum and asked her why would they accept this guy into our home. I also did the same with my elder brother ... But nobody listen to me. I expected my elder bro to have done his homework even if my mum couldnt sense it, but the guy had been sold too. It almost resulted to a family problem, which I had to avoid. If my elder brother couldn't take necessary action, who am I?

It wasnt long before this guy scammed my mum of 648k... And eventually, out of too much thinking, she fell in the bathroom.

The police couldn't do anything, we couldnt reclaim a cent and we were helpless.

Anyway, few months down the road, my mum developed back pain as a result of the fall and she started living on drugs. She could neither walk or stand for too long. It went on and she developed stomach problem which resulted to her death in 2008. She died in my arms and that of my elder brother. I became an orphan and the house she was building near The Bell at Sango Otta has been abandoned.

I couldnt go back to complete my HND and started doing menial jobs, labour, sat for people during WAEC and NECO because am quite good with mathematics ,physics and chemistry. Yeah... I didnt like what I was doing but I had no choice. I also did sales job... And final one was home tutor.

I wanted go back and have my HND. My mum was no more, so UNI was not an option for me. When the time came to buy form, there was no one to turn to.

It was getting close to closing date for sales of form when I recalled a friend and former classmate during OND days. He got a job with TOTAL after our graduation and I also linked him to another guy who had gone through the interview stage so that he could get information needed to pass the interview and which he did. The guy sent me the money and the rest was history. How I went through school had been by the grace of God and 3 friends whom I helped during my OND days. There was one among these three friends one was my roomates and I used to feed him with food stuff I get from home, either cooked or raw and including money. He too is a staff of TOTAL and the one I referred the other guy to...

Till date when I go home people often wonder if I were really in school because there isnt any sign that I was going through school stress.

Today is my final project defence and I dedicate it to God,Abel, Bruno and Michael.

Givers never lack...
Romance45 Things Girls Want, But Won't Ask? by 2sexy(op): 1:41pm On Aug 12, 2012
I got this on my facebook page. How True?
================================================

45 THINGS A GIRL WANT, BUT
WON'T ASK FOR:
1. Touch her waist.
2. Actually talk to her.
3. Share secrets with her.
4. Give her your jacket. 5.Kiss her slowly.
Are you remembering this?
6. Hug her.
7. Hold her.
8. Laugh with her.
9. Invite her somewhere.
10. Hangout with her and your friends together.
11. Smile with her.
12. Take pictures with her.
13. Pull her onto your lap.
14. When she says she loves you more, deny it. Fight
back.
15. When her friends say “I love her more than you”,
deny it. Fight
back and hug her tight so she can’t get to her
friends. It makes her
feel loved.
Are you thinking of someone?
16. Always hug her and say I love you whenever you
see her.
17. Kiss her unexpectedly.
18. Hug her from behind around the waist.
19. Tell her she’s beautiful.
20. Tell her the way you feel about her. One last
thing you need to do to
show her you actually do mean it.
21. Open doors for her, walk her to her car - it
makes her feel protected, plus it never hurts to act
like a gentleman.
22. Tell her she’s your everything - only if you mean
it.
23. If it seems like there is something wrong, ask her
- if she denies something being wrong, it means SHE
DOESN’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT - so just hug her.
24. Make her feel loved.
25. Kiss her in front of OTHER girls you know! WE
MIGHT DENY IT BUT WE ACTUALLY LIKE AND KINDA
WANT YOU TO TICKLE US....
26. Don’t lie to her.
27. DON’T cheat on her.
28. Take her ANYWHERE she wants.
29. Text message or call her in the morning and tell
her have a good
day at school, and how much you miss her.
30. Be there for her whenever she needs you, and
even when she doesn’t need you, just be there so
she’ll know that she can always count on you.
ARE YOU STILL READING THIS? YOU BETTER,
BECAUSE IT’S IMPORTANT.
31. Hold her close when she’s cold so she can hold
you too.
32. When you are alone hold her close and kiss her.
33. Kiss her on the cheek; (it will give her the hint
that you want to kiss her).
34. While in the movies, put your arm around her
and then she will
automatically put her head on your shoulder, then
lean in and tilt her chin up and kiss her lightly.
35. Don’t ever tell her to leave even jokingly or act
like you’re mad. If
she’s upset, comfort her.
REMEMBER ALL THESE THINGS WHEN YOU ARE WITH
HER NEXT ..
36. When people diss her, stand up for her.
37. Look deep into her eyes and tell her you love
her.
38. Lay down under the stars and put her head on
your chest so she
can listen to the steady beat of your heart, link your
fingers together while you whisper to her as she
rests her eyes and listens to
you.
39. When walking next to each other grab her hand.
40. When you hug her, hold her in your arms as long
as possible.
MAKE SURE SHE KNOWS SHES LOVED.
41. Call or text her at night to wish her sweet
dreams.
42. Comfort her when she cries and wipe away her
tears.
43. Take her for long walks at night.
44. Always remind her how much you love her.
45. Sit on top of her and tell her how much you love
her and then
bend down to her face and kiss her while you’re
sitting on her.
You’ll never know when she needs just a little more
love .. !tongue

ferhyntorlah: Freecocoa, she did get married at a young age. Maybe you were too young to notice then.

The movie that gave her fame was "Mortal Inheritance", which she acted with Fred Amata. It was the movie that gave her her first ever nomination as an actress. And I remember that around the time she won the award, she was already pregnant or just gave birth; either of the two. She was around 18/19 then and that was in 1998. So do the mathematics; I don't think she is up to 34 yet maybe 32/33.

There are somethings I just don't forget. Once I keep seeing the person, I keep remembering the record my memory has of them and this continues as the years go by.

So all those talking she can't be in her thirties, please if you don't have facts to back up your claim, it better you don't saying anything. Nowadays, ignorance is so blissful!

She married very early and I read somewhere that her dad was initially against the marriage, probably due to the age factor. It takes alot of maturity and wisdom for a girl of that age you know and considering the remaining flock of fish brains we have in feminine form. I respect this lady and her husband for that.

How could some say she has always been the dumper and not the dumpee? Even when we know most of them na fish brain.

There even some that are quite good at castigating you but you will never see such a person discuss her relationship life.

A typical example is my own friend here but I dont wanna call her name. You should know cos people call her crazy. I went through her previous post and could find one in which she share her relationship experience, but I did find post where she were calling people names.

But despite all that, i like d lady o o o.

All this one wey ppl dey talk say things hard 4abroad, yet dem no wan com home.

Most people contaminate others mind just because they couldn't make it. I have come to realise that life is like school. Some pass and some fail. You are either on the other side, never both.

My school in Naija for instance, people would go out and say it is so hard to cope with academic activities. Imagine the effect that would cause if someone listen to them. Such a person wouldn't even know that the person telling him or her such is among the group who are scared, lack confidence or faith, lazy and not willing to work or read.

Such is life.

I didn't want to say anything till I read this. But mind you, whoever you work for owns the company and it his business. You are helping him build his business . Where is yours.

Being a business owner is the only way to guarantee financially security.

Bro, it is not easy to own a business either but if you have a long term goal, you will make it.

I have never left the shores of Nigeria, but I do know that owning and growing a business is the smartest, wisest and surest decision you will ever make in your life.

The problem we have is that this subject is not taught in school...

I will have to beg you or anyone to get this book : Rich Dad , Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. It will change your life for good. You will begin to see life, money and working from another angle. Please get that book and read it. I bet you wouldn't want to work for anyone, but yourself.
