Top1gun:When comparing governors please also factor in federal allocation and IGR, so that such discuss can be balanced. Not holding fort for any governor but comparison has to be based on same variables. |
Good initiative but can it be hastened up. Nigerians can only trust this government when the policies are positively affecting lives and business. |
isthatso:There is no credibility in Nigeria politicians and politics, I have had the opportunity to relate with them at the grass root level. It always what is in therefore them. I agree that the name PDP is damaged, a change of name and political mergers with new faces could change things for them. You never can tell, this is Nigeria. But they first need to be a credible opposition in terms putting the current government on their toes. The way they have been going about it shows that they have not learned anything. |
isthatso:Remember that, this was exactly said of APC before the fall of PDP, irrelevant. It was same internal opposition that brought down the party. I will be foolish to think that the problem of leadership is actually the party name and exonerate the party members. People make up party, as people make up a country. From North to the South, all most every one that mattered in PDP are all in APC, is there any change? When Buhari who has a large supporters up north leaves in 2023, you will see the partisanship within the party. I will rather respect that man that sticks to one party than political prostitutes. All those jumping from one party to another, are full time politician who depend on the national cake to remain relevant. They know remaining in PDP for the next 4 or 8 yrs will leave them hungry, so they need to join the wagon, the bigger the merrier and the better to subvert the aspirations of the general populace. |
It is high time we separate region from state. What we need is godly and not religious practices. Religion is personal Show me one country that shows so much religiousness but filled with ungodly people, I will show you Nigeria. Lagos state government is filled with so much official corruption, let another party take over and you will see the stench of corruption that will out from state. With the level of commercial activities in Lagos, the state should be the leading city in Africa, comparable to cities in the Europe. Well, with all the mismanagement, the state is still leading in the country, that show how underdeveloped Nigeria as a country is. |
Please sue SR to clear your name since efcc have remained indifference in doing so. With all this evidence of corrupt practices you are still talking. You want us to see that there is hand of Esau in your matter, something we already know. You should be more concerned about the person after you. This could also be a ploy to reach or rubbish someone at the top. I did not mention any person name, you can fix the name of the person you mind tells you. |
Networking is key to success. This is the difference between the rich and the poor. Where the rich reach out to friends in position to help get that contract or business, the poor will always be filled with hatred for their neighbor who has made it. Most of the politicians and people in position met either in school or leaved in same neighborhood as friends. There is nothing wrong if your childhood close friend tries to reach you today for assistance. That you have made it among your friends should be a blessing to your close pals too. Today I still remember my childhood friends and have made effort to find them not because I necessary want something from them, felt bad for the once that are dead. I just recently connected to my pals in college, which is that network all should build. It is not entitlement, sometimes wealth and fame keeps us from our very close friends, just like people surrounding government official making it difficult to reach them (like Kelechi senior brother did). Let him reach Kelechi first, it is left for him to assist or not. |
DamnnNiggarr:Same way APC acted when PDP was in power, they are all the same. But should we keep quite and point fingers? |
Okowa has accommodated this guys for too long. He is always pacifying his people when these atrocities are committed. It is high time he takes a decisive action to protect the live and property of his people. One Nigeria is a hoax. You can not love some else without loving of selve first. Selve preservation should be the main object of any tribe in Nigeria now, since we have all agreed to deceive our selves as a country |
The kind of news coming out of Imo state nowadays baffles me. |
Even though they are my in-laws, I no dey put mouth for ND matter again. They and their leaders prefer the way things are going. They joiner others to castigate easterners, yet this same people they call all sort of names help to create commercial activities in their towns. They need to wake up and align with other groups in the south, and demand for something collectively life changing, not just 13% derivative. They are my people, so let me leave it here. |
Great, please remember to update this forum with pictures. DIY is a huge hobby in the advanced worlds, that is why you google and you get loads of information. But we here, all we know is to complain about artisans when we could do it our selves. Wish you the best. |
Who are the elders, ones who do not have authority in there domains, elders whose conscience has a price and have been paid for. Were they not there when the youths were heavily involved in elections malpractices. Elder who murdered the truth and busy playing to the galary. Everyone one is entitled to their opinion, if he is elected governor to you, he can be supreme court governor to others. Probe my foot. How can you probe a person for funds never withdrawn during his tenor and want him to answer for the withdrawal. Probe Ihedioha for transactions during is governorship period. Hope can only fool his supporters and those who don't have first hand information not some of us who do. |
It is quite unfortunate that a lot people don't understand the power of the presence and the personality of a president, leader of a country. What made the like of the Ziks , Awolowos, and even the sarduanas of this world to be respected is the power to reach out to the people and speak directly to them. There are certain functions, in a modern democracy that leaders should not readily assign to anyone else, except he is incapacitated by which his Vice should take up the duty. If the president could tour all the geographical zone during the election within a short period what stops him from doing same now. Was he at a University in Lagos giving speech, or in Abuja secondary school speaking to the young ones or any seminar in the Owerri speaking to the youths who are the future of the country as they say. The man who command some level of respect and brings some level of presidential pride within the presidency is relegated to some duties. Buhari is not an Emir with his palace in Aso rock, he is a democratically elected president of a multicultural society. It is either he moves around the country or delegate his vice who has the agility and brilliance to speak. But everything is politics with this government. |
Ausrichie:The truth is, these elements of hate speech is abound in all tribes and all is guilty of what they accuse others. When people should think and concentrate on getting politicians do the right thing. All the energy and skill used up on attacking each other, can't be it better used in demanding for better development from those in government system? |
surgical:You made a good point, Jude is a grass root politician. Igbokwe on the other hand drew lot of dislike to himself due to the insulting manner he speaks to his fellow Igbo people. He never reach out with humility. Even though Ben Akabueze was not know to an average Igbo man in Lagos but he commands respect better than Igbokwe who was always in the news. Bottom line, you don't fill yourself with arrogance and insult your people, at every opportunity and expect them to follow you. I wish all of them well in Lagos and APC. I don't care whichever party in power, all I want is the conducive environment where people can freely achieve the best of their potential, after all parties are just vehicle to achieve a certain goal, until we get to that point of party ideology, it's all about AGIP ( Any party in power). |
rottencorpse:Are those national monuments not looking like the country? Very much dilapidated, abused and abandoned. |
Another blood spilled. What a wasteful country, waste natural resources, waste human resources. Sick people every where, from the killing bandits, to fulani militia, to boko haram and to the armed forces. Kidnappers and ritualistic doing there own thing unhindered. Oh Nigeria. |
zikter:Government in Nigeria is not proactive, be at state or federal level. In advance worlds, they convert their weakness to strength, while we simple resign to faith by not doing anything. Venice and Amsterdam developed a city on water which attract tourist across the world. We just have governments that lack capacity to create real infrastructural development. Yet you see government praise singer all over the places. Until we understand that politicians are our employees and one cardinal responsibility beyond obeying the laws, is to demand for accountability and to show our displeasure in a very civil way. |
9jayes:Don't worry our rulers can rule from any where in the solar planet system so we were told. We can also take it further to from the grave. |
Season of media congratulations from all quarters. |
I lost hope in Nigeria and in the ability of our people to get it right as a nation. When is Nigeria going to have the change we all want, if we continue recycling old people who has used up their very productive years. Youths are the future they say, I guess the future is when they get to 75 year and above. While most of the developed world are shifting their leadership ideology to meet the current need of today, our people are still entrenched in putting this old people on seat that requires young and dynamic individuals. Can we have new persons in the like of the Soludos, Adeshina's, Iwealas and other fresh faces of the past governments, can't we get our people doing very well in the diaspora to come home and contribute something. It is easier for us to search out this people in the sporting world and make them represent the country but not in leadership. As for Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, if president Bubu find him capable of contributing positively to his government so be it. It is difficult to get any Nigeria politician who has served in past administrations without baggage either in terms of financial corruption or moral bankruptcy. |
HarunaWest:You mean graveyard peace, take way the threat of government and see how people will savagely turn to each other. I hope you will share this same sentiment when a Christian governor does the same in Kaduna. The Nigerian constitution prescribed a system that was believed will give Nigerians a sense of belonging in the country, but this present government is rubbishing it. |
Slawormir:Let them try nonsense and get the result from US. They should be careful before America uses them as testing ground for their new inventions. Trump is not Obama. |
Marrying from same tribe is good because it saves from lot of language and cultural problems. However it does not guarantee you peace. What everyone looks for in marriage is a partner to grow old with in peace. If the love shared by you both is strong and you are both convinced to overcome all the differences that comes with inter-tribal marriage so go ahead. Is she your friend. Does the lady share in your dreams and aspirations? Is she tribal biased? Do you share same religious inclination? Are you very cultural and traditionally inclined? Times will come when language and cultural difference may come in but you will need wisdom to overcome. Note that both of you will need to shift grounds on some issues. Most importantly pray over it for God's direction |
StreetFight:Rivers and Lagos are not the same, laws and practices is based on the environment. That is why some country have capital punishment for crime like drug trafficking and others don't. The basic thing is, is there a law on this and what does the law say about the enforcement. Either the law is faulty or the enforcer is wrong. The governor must have invoked some law. The court is there to settle the matter |
SpecialAdviser:Many Nigerians are stubborn and ready to break whatever law is existing especially when they are connected. Is there a state law that backs the action? If yes why the uproar and calling of names. I will dissagree with actions like this where it is not backed by law. |
hotseat:Nigeria has no enemies but enemy to itself. When a country is not built on equity and justice, you don't have to look far for enemies. Leave the vested interest, first do the right thing at all time and vested intetest will diminish. Selective justice is corruption. |
I stopped taking Femi Adesina serious, when I realized that he is doing a professional job for the president. This is what he is employed to do. He is not employed to think to use his head and heart. If we all remember Rueben Abati in Patito's gang and as a columnist and what he became in GEJ government we will understand why we should not focus on this guys but their principals. |
pword:Interesting, where do you stand and what do you stand for. |
friday2011:When they create problems in the North, they push it to the South to bear the pains and back it up with the slogan " One Nigeria" When will south whose development has been slowed down by the north stand up and deliberately demand for state or regional restructuring of the country . It is a pity that some group of southerners with all the education still allow themselves to be fooled by a few among them who claim to be leaders and will support the silencing of anybody who demand for a change. Nigeria need a pragmatic surgery either by peaceful or violent means. Rwanda is an example of choosing the hard way. The options is our to take. |
First, human trafficking is evil no matter what form or who is involved. The continued existence of this group of criminals is because of failure of government at all level to protect her citizens and give them justice. Man is naturally evil, and a small population will go extra miles. The governors in the East are not really working hard to eradicate this crime. More reason why community policing is very much needed in Nigeria, if not for anything atleast for intelligence gathering. Any property used for this nefarious crime should be ceased and converted to state government use. |
