Have we fully tested our laws in court, the answer is No. If Buhari is not confortable with the intelligence providing formation let him go the court. When the north came up with sharia, the South did not challenge it, ditto Civilian JTF. Each time the south want to move forward, the northern power broker will attach to it breaking of the country, abeg this is expired slogan. |
seunmsg:Work together will be difficult in Nigerian politics because we don't do government of national unity, it is winner takes all. Same way Okorocha became a Czar, had 3 deputies and silenced everybody in the state. That was why imolites were happy when Nwosu could not achieve Okorocha's aim. I have no hope in Hope, beause I don't have confidence in him. |
Eteka1:Although the full judgement has not been made to the public but What should be in the mind of an objective person is 1. Why was it initially excluded. 2. Who excluded the results 3. Were the results signed off by the parties/inec 4. Were the results reconciled to voided votes 5. How come a massive 338 PU were excluded 6. Can the election materials be examined to affirm this results. 7. Could have be a posibility of a rerun election in those units. 8. What is lawful and unlawful result. Electoral judgements in Nigeria will always leave much to be desired. Until we moved to more verifiable and a better reformed election process, we continue to have thieves govern us without fear of removal. |
MXrap:You are absolutely correct, Hope is a confirmed scammer. Just that people of other states and especially those in the SW do not know him,he is the bounced cheque man. He will be worst than Okorocha. Secondly, the Owerri/Mbaise/Ngor Okpala zone has been short change by the Orlu zone. When we are happy that equity is returning to the state and a better candidate amongst the necessary evils in the election won. I remain to see how the zone accept and fully support hope uzodinma. Let see what he is bringing to imo state. As for me the state is back to hopelessness. Did anyone notice that i did not mention political party because when it comes to true leadership, political parties in nigeria are irrelevant. No ideology. |
cybertron88:You made very important points in your comment. It will be foolishness and stupidity for Iran to start any skirmish with US, considering the role Iran is playing in accommodating and funding terrorism in that region and the world as a whole. The effect of any war with US will further put the Arab region in more sociopolitical and economic problems. So many countries in the Arab world, especially KSA and the west will relish the opportunity to put that government in check. They better not start what they cannot finish. |
Blindersoff:When was proceeds from agriculture in the north used to develop south. Did you forget before Nigeria therefore was Lagos, north and south protectorate. Do you remember in history when the south was approached to borrow the north funds? So what happened to the revenue from cocoa, rubber and palm oil? What was built in the south with north agric revenue? And from what period? Please give details. |
[quote author=prof12 post=85232595]Buhari remains the best president we have ever had by all standards. As human, he has his shortcomings but no one could deny he meant well for the nation; using small resources to achieve visible infrastructural developments, building institutions to checkmate looting, bringing corrupt politicians and judges to justice, jailing three former governors from his own party, repositioning Nigeria strategically in relation to our neighbouring countries. The list is endless. If you mean well for this country, you will support his effort and cheer him on[/] For all his achievement, failure to unite Nigerians and uphold the rule of law is his most undoing. Will those in Benue remember him with fond memory? Key and most appointment to only his tribe in a country of many tribes. Someone built 3rd mainland bridge but history is still not kind to him. The future will tell. I wish him well. |
I have been informed by the seemingly crimes of fowler and the power play in the FIRS long before his exit. The truth is that fowler is not well grounded in taxation and the civil service procedure, but at that position you need a well grounded manager with great experiences surrounded by well experience tax officers. In Lagos, he used a lot of unethical method and also got himself very rich. No doubt that he increased our tax revenue but at same time he gradually destroy civil service procedures. If not that people cannot be sacked without civil service procedures he would have sacked so many persons and plug in more of his colleagues and friennds. Therefore he just moved people out to less important function: send them to local areas and the training schools and distort promotion. Imagine writing and passing the compulsory promotions exam but still remain at current position because people within are not moving. Any persons conversant with the appointments of Buhari will not be surprised. Fowler was part of the sharing of positions between APC northern cabals and Tinubu, now Buhari has nothing to loose therefore he could change the agreement initially reached in 2015. But truth be said most top government parastatals has northen domination, which were hitherto balance by Obasanjo. It's just who we have become, tribal sentiment. |
Anambralstson:Sometime last 2 yesrs ago while doing some cleaning i found the receipt issued for the payment made on my behalf by my mother. Every head was levied. I think it was ike Nwachukwu who initiated it. |
RIP to all the aid workers. Nigeria is not a country that is worth loosing ones life for. I personally will not live or work in the north now or in the future. If I may ask, what did Buhari as a well respected person in the norther do in the early day of this monster to stop the misguided minds? While he was out of power, as a respected northern leader, what projects and programme did he lead to improve education and eradicate poverty in the north? What makes anybody think that Buhari will stop boko haram? My personal opinion, I don't have the conviction to die for Nigerian project and would not want to wish anybody to die recklessly in this project of deceit.A country so rich but cannot provide basic needs of life. |
Buhari won't be seeking for your vote in 2023 and has said that himself. He is a product of the old northern oligarchy. For those who have forgoting history, the emirs used to rule supreme and brutal to any contrary opinion, and that was why the colonial master prefer them to their counterparts in the south. I am not surprised with the turn out of event, inshort I expected it. This a man who retired to his home in Daura, and never on his own championed any meaningful course for his people in the north other faning ambers of national disunity by his various religious and political comments. NBA sounds like a broken record. Anything short of carrying out industrial action will not shake Buhari. What we are withnessing is the main disadvantage of one party state. It ultmately make the head a supreme leader. All this grabbing of election results and political positions by one party will kill this country. Who will bring Buhari to order, when he has placed puppets in the legislator and Judiciary. We warmed and they called everybody wailers. If we want democracy let us live by the undiluted tenet. We can't practise democracy and dictatorship same time. |
So truly Okorocha dipped his hand in the cookie jar. When we demanded accountability, he and his supporters said we hated him because he is APC member. We only wanted good governance, where it comes from we do not care. Okorocha must go to Jail. Where are the supporters now? |
Deering1008:How do we hold those you mentioned accountable and exonerate the president? We all saw how Osinbajo handled the DSS boss over the seige on saraki home, can Buhari also do the same. Nigeria is a joke under this government. |
I don't care if these few thounsand at the corridors of power get beaten outside Nigeria, after all can you get close to them here in nigeria with body guards. In the past we all went to same public schools and know each other, the child of the fire wood seller sit in same class with that of a commissioner but now they destroyed everything that brought us together and created a dichotomy of the rich and the poor, yet some so called intellectuals who should know better preffer viewing every issue on political, tribal or religious basis. Does supporters of this politicians be it APC or PDP forbid good life? I here them say oh we want peace, I hope it is not grave yard peace they want like the present oppressors in government. Did I hear somebody quote JFK? That does not apply in Nigeria, where we don't enjoy basic needs of life. A country where human life is worthless, the state and it agencies are lawless. Let the beating continue until they get sense. |
I think a joint full investigation of the matter should be carried out and the report made public. There are so many loose ends to the info release by both IPOB supporters and the police. I will never accept in totality the stories been released around and will not give words of support to any of the group. However, having listened to the Lawyer, our police system should have a better way of treating issues and not by show of force. we need an intelligent police who will carry out their duties with minimal effort. |
If some states claim to be Muslim state by law or by implication of majority and we have come to accept it that way. should we not accept Wike's proclamation based on Christain majoirty in the state? Since we choose to bring religious law (Sharia law) into our jurisprudence, then nobody should be offended when other religions or persons begin to make demands or lay claims to some religious right. If we claim to be a secular nation by words and practice, then the Muslim state and Wike are wrong but if not, both are right. As is stands now we are not a unit of secular nation by both words and practice. |
EmptyCoconutHead:Every politician from the North in APC has always mentioned relationship with Buhari as their reason for being in the party. Therefore if Buhari was presented under the platform of PDP, they will also follow him. This parties are mere names but something has remained constant with APC & PDP; same politicians jumping around. If APC losses to another party in 2023, they will also move in block the the winning party. I don't care about this people, they are the real original scammers. |
This should be a lesson to government in Nigeria. People are more informed now than years back. Hunger and hardship knows no tribe, religion or political affiliation. Trouble is brewing silently and the politicians will rather prefer to gag the people than provide good leadership. Let him take the message to his bosses. |
SirNuell1:Did you ever believe the country has a future? This is a country where the oppressed support and make excuses for their oppressors. The young people who know what they want and have the means to leave the country are leaving in large numbers. These are professionals who can't take it any more. |
obembet:Please take it easy, The guy made his choice so support him. Why are we always looking at importing finished product. We have so many talent in-country but how is our sport system pushing them up? Principal cup dead, YSFON long dead, our leagues always in trouble. Iwobi with England is a special case because his uncle is a Nigerian legend. Please support him. |
Nice one, even though I am not a fan of Gandollar, I must commend him for the continuity of projects started by his predecessor. If Ambode had continued Fashola projects like the badagry road and rail project, some services would have started. Any governor that cannot build IPP for it own use and public facilities is a failure. Good project for Kano people. Eastern governors what are your plans? |
I will be insane to expect anything from this case. That is the Nigeria we all want abi? |
Hate him or love him, Sowore is leaving his print in the sand of time. What Sowore case is showing me is that Nigeria and Nigerians are not worth to die for. Today where is MKO, where is Saro Wiwa. Gani suffered so much for the masses, moved from one prison to another all for the sake of the masses. I hear some people say Sowore is senseless, then, Martin luther king, Mandela and host of other were senseless as well. The myopic can keep supporting their oppressors. |
Those who want to clap for these government can go on. I am diligently working my way out of this country.Too many shenanigans.I will rather prefer to visit. The government is always swift and decisive when it come to punitive action against the masses but will never be that fast in alleviating the pains of the masses. Can they also use this method to cut down cost of governance, including the crazy cost of maintaining the legislatives across the country? Nigerians will see more pain. The primary duty of the citizens is to hold leaders accountable but here, citizens are expected to be praise singers to those in leadership irrespective of performance. Bush meat will soon catch the hunter , if only my people go get sense. |
Realdeals:Very good question. The Chinese had plan and followed that over the years. The plan was anchored on using their human capital and internal resources and in the process have developed their own technology. This is the problem with black African countries, failure to mobilize internal resources due to unstable politics and policies, all emanating from poor leadership. Africa is always looking for easy way out therefore creating future problems. I have always advocated for internalizing our development, so that our people can develop technological know-how and competencies. Have they made public the actual contract papers? Like you said, we are going nowhere with the current model and China may will use these various contract against Nigeria in the future. |
Cabals and bigwigs will not let things work in Nigeria. Things has been so messed up that it will take so many years to get half close to the development in advance societies. The so called big wigs are not interested in the local female league but are interested in the national team because of money and opportunity for foreign jamborees, leaving the main actors, the players, without their bonuses. Sport gives the youths hope and keeps them away from harmful activities but these selfish individuals will not allow us advance. |
Nice one from Wike, If only the state governors can replicate such project strategically in communities, the issue of street trading will be reduced greatly. I hope the maintenance of the market will be paramount, otherwise the structure will soon become a burden to the community. We as a people should be begin to maintain our public utilities no matter how small they are. Government should partner with private companies, where full government participation cannot bring the desired maintenance. There is also need to make it affordable to the common street seller. |
What is the difference between PDP and APC? These jobless fools who never attracted any meaningful economic investment in their community but rather will share for themselves what is due to the people. |
Okorocha destroyed institutions and institutional processes in Imo state. He became lord of the state, removing his deputies and SHA speakers the way he so desired. Silenced every percieved enemy. And to cover all this atrocities was his plan to installed his son in-law. Ihedioha should ensure transparency and due process in his government by regularly publishing state income and expenditure as well as having quarterly press media chat to evaluate performance and feedback from the people. |
The wicked shall know no peace, it will never be well for murderers and all they hold dear to their heart. Curse be unto them. Our society is under siege from all front. |
It was crystal clear that Okorocha was stealing from Imo state purse through various means, while his paid mouth piece were here on this platform defending him, wimping APC and tribal sentiment. The people knew he had the state house of assembly in his pocket, so they patiently waited for him in the election. Let wait and see how event fold out. |
When you become successful in what you do, you will become friend to many who know nothing about you. It's a simple and known model, acquire illegal wealth, invest in legit business and mingle with the rich and politicians. We have friends who we do not have full details of what they do. |
