Okorocha will surely go to jail even if it takes so many years. We warned him but his supporters at home and the ignorant non indigene supporters who can't seperate okorocha as person and APC can now see. Look at the various revelations coming off from the state judiciary enquiry ongoing. No immunity to cover him now. But it's funny how efcc is refusing to act on petitions before them, same way they claimed ignorant of Uzodinma case. The logical conclusion is to believe Buhari is selective on the corruption fight. |
JonTopps:Exactly. How did we remove civic education from our curricular and expect patriotism in our citizenry? Unfortunately many did not see it from this angle but rather on the demolition mark. A large number of Private schools are on rented property until they finally develop own and the structural design will tell you. |
ultimatekint:The virus strain is very sensitive to head and acidity and has a very short life outside conducive environment so said experts, not many of nigerians go to clinic for flu and we may have developed some level of resistance to the virus without knowing. Many Nigerians and black africa may be carrying the virus right now without knowing it because of our environment and immune system. Here we normally allowed our system to gradually defeat the flu virus, procold only help to speed up the process. |
SmartMen:Only deep thinkers without party line can see this. Build institutions and not personalities Nigerians will not listen. What are the issues? Selfishness. Most of this guys disturbing the peace of our political space are not fit to lead their families. Nigeria remain a lost course for now. |
They better learn from the faith that befell PDP, where some governor worked against the party. What is wrong with finding a genuine common ground. Politicians with their selfish tendencies, more reason why I think no sensible person should go about insulting others over these individual and party sentiment. |
Abia state and indeed the SE has not been fortunate to have visionary leaders since the advent of democracy in 1999. This is largely due to the migration of the best brains and able young people out of the region in search of better opportunities in the diaspora therefore leaving the states to few individuals who have taken and control political sentiments in the states. Secondly, the electoral system has also made it difficult for the few visionary ones to win elections. Abia state is a typical example of bad leadership succession starting from Orji Uzor Kalu to the present day leadership. Today where is OUK? Imo state, a sister state to Abia was almost getting it right in the last election, considering the preparedness of Ihedioha for the job and the profile of the major contenders, unfortunate the process was truncated. Until the indigenes, home and abroad task this set of leadership, no meaningful development will be achieved in the SE |
In my opinion, challenging the FCT high court's jurisdiction to adjudicate in the matter in the same court would have been better. Politician in connivance with lawyers have mastered the abuse of court processes. Let wait and see whst NJC position will be on this. |
nairavsdollars:What about Owode Onirin? |
CyberWolf:I think the SC was constrained by the constitutional time frame window within which to resolve election cases, hence the rush to conclude and make a pronouncement based only technicalities. But the question is can the judgement stand the test of time? It is left to the PDP lawyers to proof that sufficient submissions were made during the initial hearing and which the Judges did not reckoned with. On personal ground I am not a fan of Uzodinma but I wish both side good luck. |
All what people do here is trade blames. How will this solve the shit that we all in right now. Shouldn't we sit down and ruminate over the comments of this elderly man? We all have made mistakes, let think forward and stop allowing some persons called national leaders to think for us. |
fabre4:Exactly, the hearing will not be on new facts, but on the submissions already made at the final hearing. All they need do is prove that thier earlier position was sufficient enough to contest the result produce by Uzodinma and that the court had overlooked or not properly reckoned with some of their submissions. |
The man is right, community policing as presented by the Buhari led police is a fraud. How did the police suddenly came up with community policing initiative when Amotekun came up? The SW governors are proactive , while those morons in the SE are selling out their people for selfish political gains. Since the governors have decided to work against the people, we will protect ourselves in best traditional method. |
Rip to the dead. But I don't know that a police can die, considering the way the way they kill innocent people in Nigeria. A greater number of innocent citizens have died in the hands of Nigeria police officers that the number of police officers killed by criminals. |
willyjacs:I think the situation you pointed out can only happen in the north. Police killing of innocent citizens in the south is becoming alarming. This how some military guys killed a 3SC player some years back in rivers. The unfortunate thing about this is that no one will be brought to book. I wish the perpetrators can be identified immediately and timely jungle justice meted out to them. These fools seem to have forgotten how they used hide their uniforms some years back for fear of dare devil armed robbers. With the way things are going the days of rage against police is coming. |
This is part of the decay and directionless leadership we have in this country. This building is an edifice, if completed would have helped to open up that area. I remember passing through the compound many years back. The place was like a community of it own, a criminal den, surrounded by bushes. This is the same fate suffered by the old national secretariat at Ikoyi. It's unfortunate that even the state government abandoned that axis, we have seen Epe and Ikorodu opened up, when will Lagos state government direct infrastructural investment towards Badagry. That axis has huge potential to Lagos state government, considering the fact that 2 huge trading centers; Alaba International Market and International trade fair complex are situated there, this trading centers attract people from all over West Africa. |
Any group is free to attend the hearing and also free to speak out on their fears but non should think that blackmails and threat will stop this initiative. I hope this noise makers understand the we practice federalism and each state has controlling power over what happens in their jurisdiction. The Fulani group should be concerned on checkmating the bad eggs among them. They should understand that even though our constitution entrench freedom of movement, but that does not grant them the right to destroys other persons asset. Amotekun has come stay period. |
solmus:What do you mean by unconstitutional. Do you really understand the matter at hand, forgery. In a saner country the deputy governorship candidate will be answering questions as to how he has several names on his publicly tendered document and even the governor & party as whole APC as a body failed to screen their candidate properly or felt that impunity will prevail. Note that this is a pre election matter which should have been resolved before election but APC choose to get a court injunction on the eve of the election, which is not supreme. To directly give response to you comment; 1. To stand for election you must meet all the requirement set by INEC which is empowered by the constitution 2. The requirement includes possessing the requisite academic qualification, evidenced by a certificates 3. One of the conditions to be a governor is, you must have a deputy and vice visa .i.e no governor without deputy or deputy without governor 4. Since both are jointly standing for the election under a party, a fault in one, is a fault by the other The APC deputy governorship candidate should have perfected his document or step aside to avoid this mess, but their lawyers would have told them that they have a good case. |
I see a rerun in those units, which should have been the wise judgement but instead the SC played into the hands of Uzodinma. |
thundafire:That is the point many has not reckoned with. SC was more concerned with time frame within which to resolve election matters rather than examining all the issue raised at the tribunal and lower court. In other words SC narrowed the arguments and even over looked it own decision on Nwosu. No mater which divide you sympathise with, the truth must never be muddle up with politics. eventhough PDP did not provide a result, should the result provided by APC not be subjected to test and interrogation. Oya unilaterally produce WEAC exam result which waec cancelled. |
kahal29:Does it mean that if SC condems a person to death, and later new evidences exonerating the person comes up, there will be no review of the case? In this case the SC was looking at the time line of concluding the election matters and gave the judgement. Therefore, overlooked interrogation of evidences provided by Uzodinma. Now the timeline is met, but with wrong judgement, the aggrieved is at liberty to seek for judicial reveiw. Let wait and see what next. |
Nigeria is an error, and everything that happend in it has been error, and some people have chosen to preserve the error. This is not how a country is built. Justice should be given whenever the truth is discovered. We have preserved errors in our national systems far too long. |
Abyima:Cattle colony was a ploy to steal lands from the indigenous people and install fulani all over the country. It's a ploy to dilute our cultures with fulani's who are bad neighbours. It's rational to start it in the north and not try to force it on all. If the Fulani wants to continue with atrocities, let the local people apply local solutions quitely. |
Antoeni:As if diocesans are not living in Nigeria. These reverends do a lot of faith healing to give hope to the people of a better tomorrow but what do the politicians do? Kill the people and the nation gradually. If the men of God keep quite, who will speak to the heart of these wicked these politicians. Remember prophet Nathan and David. |
DrChukki:Keep on saying it. It's community service |
SoNature:Let them keep deviating from the main issue at hand. What I expect intelligent person ask; upon which which laws or practice are they seeking the court intervention? Is the use of the jet by any other person not on state function, illegal? Our laws and rules has not been well tested in court since 1999 and it is good that people and groups takes take government actions they found abnormal to court for interpretation otherwise the abnormal will become normal in this country. |
NORSYK:Tell them, eventhough they will not understand. |
TechCapon:Who is this fool? And what do you know about Imo state. I wouldn't enter into the mud with you because I am not a pig. But for your information, Ihedioha was more prepared for the job, google his website and see the daily update of the activities he was carrying out in office. Atleast that is verifiable. Those who subscribe to the website gets daily verifiable update of event in the state. That is innovatively carrying people along. Your man Okorocha was killing the state and running a propaganda government and you see nothing wrong with that. That mediums like this gives you opportunity to be heard should not make you irresponsible. |
Uzodinma is trying hard to legitimise his questionable victory. Face governance and let who want ro protest do that. If there is nothing wrong in people giving you solidarity support, there shouldn't be any with peaceful protest. Please let imolites have your road map and policy thrust which I am sure you don't have, accidental governor. Let us have the yardstick which we can evaluate you with. The man you took over from have one. |
cana882:I know some will be interested in hearing he awarded this and he awarded that. The first he did is to introduce the Treasury Single Account. Do know what this did? This eliminated the over 200 account control by the state government that encouraged corruption. Secondly, he has instilled due process within the government, sector. He awarded contract of one of the erosion site threating a major road to arab contractor, not the Okorocha quacks contractors. He has instilled confidence in Imo workers by paying up Salary and pension as at when due. He has invested into sport development by drawing a sport road map for the state and construction of sport facility in each local government. This is same thing fashola did in lagos. I was so glad with this because sport gave me focus as teenager. Ihedioha gave his policy thrust before the election, go to his website and you get there and the various things he did day by day. This is a man who has a plan. So what does Uzodinma have, corruption cases? My position is that a man who has no efcc case against him and one who unanswered cases of corruption, rationally which will you choose. |
cana882:Iheadioha is far better that Uzodinma. Does Iheadioha have efcc corruption cases over his neck? No. Does Uzodinma have, Yes. So, as a normal critically individual, who will you want between the two? You don't need to answer I know who choice is. Don't be blinded by party affiliation look at the persons in particular and make a wise discussion. |
odiks:Irrespective of whether SC will over tune it judgement or not it is important that Ihedioha seeks for the review. How do we develop our laws, is not by painstakingly testing them in court. If we continue quoting technicalities, then we should forget justice. The judgement has alot of loopholes. The SC atimes should go beyound the ordinary to ensure that justice is seen to have been done. When the the SC was using doctrine of necessity did it not go out of normal to settle the issue facing the country then. Every case has it own uniqueness and ihedioha's own case is not an exception. SC should look at that judgement again and it many obvious flaws and find a way to be innovative, so to be seen that justice has been served. Some people will quote this case in the future to get flawed judgement. |
Simplyleo:Don't forget that Okorocha did more, that people initially loved him but after the first four years, the rot began. I wish Uzodinma could do better but considering how he defrauded Nigeria through the water dredging contract and the efcc cases hanging over his neck when he did not have a state purse under his armpit. I wonder what level of intricate and sophisticated stealing he will do with Imo state fund as a governor. If you are not blinded with APC/PDP sentiment, will you want a man of such character as you leader? Who cares what party he belong to, what imo state need is good and inspiring leadership, that will listen to the people, and protect lives and property of our people. The coming days will tell because a leopard never shed it spots. |
