Imagine the effrontery. I don't blame them. It is now clear to everyone why we have all these attacks on rural dwellers by so called "Unknown bandits" now we know that the perpetrators are the fulani tribe. Ojukwu said it, they said it is his ego with Gowon Danjuma said it, they said his pained because of oil deal Obasanjo said it, they called him a loser even his kinsmen called him names Now that the Fulani has come open with thier intention, what will other tribes do about it? This fools forget that Buhari has only 3yrs more. If they wants us to go tribal so be it, they will be surprise with what will come upon them. I only pity Hausas as they may fall victim. |
Sirjamo:More reason the need to adjust the policing system in Nigeria for which some state in the south west has began but some people are politicizing the move. |
HacheNoire:The primary responsibility of government is to protect life and property as it is enshrined in our constitution. Otherwise, it would have been all man for himself. This is same reason you are not allowed to have firearms to protect your self but rest the responsibility to government and agencies of the government. Know it that man has capacity to be wicked to man but government is to keep that in check. If government cannot protect lives and property then we are finished. |
I am very pleased to see him back in premiership, at least Nigerians will get to see him play. Good luck to him. If you are not happy with this move, that is your problem. |
Chimookigwe:To borrow from your own words Nigeria will make a mistake giving Igbo the presidency. No Igbo person would ever rule in Nigeria again I don't think you understand the magnitude of your words. . |
This is your side of the story and it's good that you voice it out, don't wait for any action from PDP before telling the world what you experienced. We are also expecting others and PDP to tell us their own version. Bottom line for me, politicians are all same. APC or PDP, as they are in Nigeria now, they just are names under which same politician are deceiving the people. |
Noerection:In addition to your submissions, Supreme court is expected to be detailed in examining all the facts and fiqures, by painstaking going beyond what is presented, but examining the content of evidence to be able to make a long lasting and wise ruling that will stand the test of time. The Supreme court has lost the pride and wisdom of the likes of Justice Oputa,Elias, Adetokunbo Ademola etc. Just like everything in the country now, people are killed unjust-fully, everybody moves on, people's right are trampled on by government and it agencies, everybody moves on. Court's rob the people, everybody moves on. Whether you are for or against, whether you are a Wailer or Hailer as we chose to identify persons, the truth is these happenings have a way of affecting everyone of us; Rich, Poor, Christian, Muslim, Igbo,Hausa, Yoruba etc. Let stand for Justice, equity and the rule of law. |
It will be absolutely right that relevant electoral laws are tested. The laws are there to bring sanity into the polity, otherwise these prostitutes in politics will not keep there stinking ass in one place. This is the right time build ideology in the various parties and in Nigerians. |
These are 2 brothers from the West, if they were from the East some people will say Igbos don't love themselves. Tax evasion is a serious crime and no reasonable country take kindly to such crime. Our Nigerian business owners should learn to apply the best practices in running their companies. Secondly, the accounting bodies should have some tighter regulation on their members. Accountant are either helping to perpetrate financial crimes or stay aloof to what they see. There is nothing wrong in these companies doing tax planning to reduce or avoid exposure but outright evasion, it a big crime. |
recievesense:Supreme Court is now the highest electoral body. what is the total registered number of voters in the 2 cancelled units? where they cancelled at the polling units level? Because someone can produced results sheet in the future and Supreme Court will declare the person winner. Anything can happen nowadays with the Supreme Court. |
raumdeuter:The Political elements in PDP played to the gallery. Never raised the bar of leadership higher. |
sassiemyk:APC is just a name, the people and practitioners behind the name are the main problem. when the unifying factor in APC leaves in 2023 and the party losses majority, the virus politician and their supporter will look for another host to plunder. What a people, what a country. |
GuestLog:Those things you mentioned don't apply with those criminal in the North. Sometime early last year, someone close to me traveled between Abuja to Jos, and was attached by islamic/tribal extremist at the outskirt of Jos. Till date the wound suffered has not healed and is still undergoing therapy. According to her, she and every Christian in that coaster would have been death if not for the timely call sent to a high ranking military officer in Jos who sent some soldiers to escort them to town. In the mist of all the confusion, and cross shooting, the driver of the bus received severe machete cut on the head and lives were lost. Bottom line, this things happen on daily bases in the north and don't get reported on the news media. People just move on. What a country we live in, where lives don't count and common sense and rationality is murdered on the platform of tribal, political and religious sentiments. |
vicdom:It is only a fool that that will come on any platform to insult people based on party affiliation. Nigerian politicians are all about self preservation. They don't care about you, or the suffering of Nigerians. Imo state law makers are one of the worst in the country. A house that impeached deputies on laughable allegations. If welfare of the people is the primary purpose of this people would it matter which party you belong to? |
BeijinDossier:Nigerians don't critically evaluate the past antecedent of their leaders and that is why we make bad choices. For the fact that Hope Uzodinma has unanswered question on corruption charges is enough for any right thinking person to keep a distance from him let alone given the purse of a state. This man stinks with corruption. Period. I don't care what ever plan he has, it will all end up in intricate corruption and swindling of Imo state funds. If he wants to be transparent, let him monthly or quarterly publish Imo state accounts and procurement process. Tomorrow he will say FOI Act is not binding on him. |
VanGun:Don't apologise and meet him in courts. Mainstream media, publishing material without proper investigation like the social media. Dino is a product of our society. Love or hate, we produced him and his fellow politicians. |
garfield1:Selective enforcement of our laws is the main issue, because all level of govermnent do not readily obey court order in Naija. When the father of the house chooses which house rule to accept what will the children do? Are there punitive measure that can be evoked by the the NA or the Executive to compel the defaulting governors to obey court orders. |
Reference:You made a good point on process and instutionalism, but we are not even trying to build one but create hatred for the state. Love and patriotism for the country is at the lowest ebb, people wishing to leave the country more than than ever. |
Blue3k:So he just suddenly woke up to his duties or is the Amotekun thing causing bad belly. Let him take any of the APC state infringing on this law to court to make it look atleast that he is not witch hunting opposition states. If he gets judgement, that will be binding on all. |
No one should be surprised by this move by APGA. I very much expected it, even those in PDP will soon, in mass move over to APC. Imo state HOA is the most useless one in Nigeria. A HOA that sacked 3 deputy governors under very laughable reasons. Ararume and hope coming togther, two people of questionable cv. Imo is in trouble. I don't really see why any reasonable person will insult others for the sake this politicians , there no differences between the parties. Same of same. |
APC is Buhari and Buhari is APC. He has a cult followership up north, and judging by his nature, he is always aloof to issues not concerning him directly, another is his age and ill health. |
Dbiz1111:Did you miss your prescription? |
Good move, let the court interprete. Until we challenge government actions in court we may not improve the currently skewed federal system. |
bakescos01:Can you tell me the part of my comment that is contrary to what you have outlined above. May be you should check my others comment on this issue, it might give you a better insight to what i have said about amotekun and federalism. |
Osagyefo98:But each state involved can legislate at state level like the hisbah thing and have joint and operational rules. The effectiveness of this body will subsequently push for state or regional policing restructure. Nigeria is a federating unit therefore, should provide for layers of policing system with checks and balancing built within. Same federal system is why we can have sharia law in somes states up north. Because our law has not been challenged at the court does not mean the the presidency or executive is absolutely correct. Who is afraid of true interpretation of federalism? The current system has become too restrictive to emerging developmental challenges. Let breakdown this political shackles so as to attain the level of development we desire. |
KingAzari:You don't want to know what happened during that election. Until we santize our electoral system issue like this will continue to come up, where votes won't tally up of accreditation. Judgements are giving base on technicalities, even when votes are publicly rigged and provided signed off by returning officers, the result is valid. Once there is over voting, then something is wrong. But our judicial system is not one that seek to do forensic, therefore case can go either way. |
itsme01:Discuss like adults is the last thing you will get on this platform. People who support or oppose without objectivity or rationality. The issue of Amotekun is just blown out of proportions. The issues and fears been raised will be taken care of and necessary legislation will be put in place. Let practise federalism the way it should be for the development of our country. Having layers of policing is part of federalism. All this bickering is unnecessary if we are sincere. |
I have in two occasions on this platform raised the question on the corrupt baggage hanging on Uzodinma and his lack of the ability to govern my dearling state. But what one ignoramus could do is label me "Ipob miscreant ". Nigerians profile your so called leaders and make right choices. A man who could not execute project paid for at national level, will he execute project at state level, when he becomes supremo Imo state? Some people are blinded by party affiliation, than look at the person in question, party is just a vehicle to achieve positions, but what matters is the moral and intellectual capacity to hold the position. The thieves in PDP like uzodinma are now APC and corruption continued. And the subjugated masses who are at the receiving end will sit behind their computers and insult others over these thieves. For me, by virtue of the corruption cases, Uzodinma is not fit for the position, has any one seen his policy thrust? The leopard nevers changes it spots. |
Sicilyjoe:It is so convenient for you to sit in your comfort zone a tag people names. What do you know about imo state? |
JubrinElSudan:You have just said what I have been saying, people have not profiled this man and are busy jubilating based on politics of party. Some years later they all start wailing, just like they did with Okorocha. This man has nothing to offer. Until I see his policy trust and verifiable performance, then i can change my position. |
iLiquidator:Handle each case based on facts on ground. the mentioned states are not exactly the same, In election, it is all about people votes. where things don't add up elections are nullified and another held. I have read lots of comments here from both extremes, and what I see is that a lot of people lack sense of Judgement of what is right or wrong. What is the essence of accreditation? The Imo judgement is so obviously flawed, it left a lot of questions which even the Supreme court will not be able to give a convincing answer. This judgment will set a bad precedence especially when nothing is done to strengthen our election process. What it means is that INEC is a waste of resources. |
He can probe even to 1999, what Imolites want is transparent leadership. And this leadership I don't see in him. The truth is majority of our people don't take time to profile those vying for positions. Hope Uzodinma has been involved in lot of corrupt issues plus returning stolen funds when the heat was turned on him. This man has efcc issue too which no one can tell whether he has been cleared. I dont want a fantastically corrupt person as my governor. But if he is transparent and work for the people like Uncle Sam, he will surely be loved by all. |
