xavuv: They were new tires bought them 2 years ago. Year of manufacture is 2017. SUNFULL TYRES.
I use 45 psi. I make sure it stays that way. Vulcaniser uses the new guage, the one that with clock like face.
Same tires on four wheels. But that particular spot is giving me problem. Third tyre is bulgibg our smal small.
Evwr sonce that thing started i been buyibg tokunbo tyres Over inflation and substandard tyre. 45 PSI on that dial face gauge is probably 50 or 55 PSI. Recall my experience. Secondly, the vulcanisers usually over inflate and then gradually reduce the pressure to whatever pressure you ask them to. In your case, you want 45 PSI, he inflates to about 50psi (about 60psi real) before deflating to your expected pressure. This damages the tyre and causes the bulge you now see. It's purely coincidence that it's happening to the same side of your car. Keep your pressures below 35psi. Your tyres will love you for it. |

HisSexcellency: yea, the AC was not working when i bought the car, he fixed the Ac but after that i noticed that the fan doesnt come on when i turn on the ignition, so i went back to him and he said its on termostat and will only come on when the engine is hot except i want him to connect it directly which he did. Seems like your electrician knew what he was doing but you told him to do the wrong thing. Go back to him so he can restore than fan to factory setting. That may solve your problem. |

Azmanaty: Hello sir, pls I called in three mechanics to check the car. They all said its engine knock. Two said it can be fixed and one said I should go and buy half and top engine instead of trying to fix it.
My question is this: can I go ahead and fix the car? I have heard stories that Honda engines are not advised to be repaired. Do I have any chance that it will work fine if its fixed?
I dont have money on me. I will draw my conclusion based on your advice. The two options I have now is to rally round and get money to fix the engine or wait till God knows when i'll get money to buy half and top engine. If its fixed and doesn't work fine, then I will loose the entire sum I may have spent fixing it.
What do u suggest sir based on ur wealth of experience with Honda cars Just out of curiosity, what oil were you using to service this car. How long between servicing? are you certain your mechanic changed filters whenever he serviced your car? |

Op, help me with the following answers. 1. Is this a tokunbo tyre? 2. What is the date of manufacture of this tyre? 3. What pressures does your vulcanised inflate your tires to? 4. Does he use the dial face and stick gauge? I have found some of the dial face gauges to be wrong. My TPMS confirmed it as there's was reading 10 PSI lower than actual. If I wasn't paying attention or had the TPMS to check, I would have been driving around with 44 osi instead of 34 PSI. |

tonididdy: Hi good morning, what do you mean a lemon rx300? I bought it direct from a car sales yard (tokunbo). I drive to and from my workplace everyday for the past one month (from home to work is 30 to 35mins drive on a free way), some days I make this trips thrice in a day and some days once and sometimes twice. But I still find its gas gulping very outrageous.
Do you find this normal? Thirty minutes is not an indication of distance driven. There is little we can do with such information. You can do it ten times a day, it doesn't still tell us the distance. Now fill up your tank, zero your trip meter either A or B (your Lexus should have that), drive till your fuel reaches empty(amber light comes on). Refill your tank again. Check how many liters it took to fill up. Divide distance driven by the number of liters it took to fill your tank. Come back and we will can tell you whether your fuel consumption is good or not. It's an SUV. Do not expect it to give you the mileage of a corolla. Even a corolla driven in Ajao estate will get terrible fuel economy because of the very short distance it covers daily in a very long time. Ajao traffic na die. |

Kelvin30286063: Oh okay... Will consider that. Not consider. That's what you need. You will travelling on roads that you aren't familiar with. Some roads are mud pits, caverns and canyons. They aren't fit to be called roads and you will be encountering quite a few of them. The south east has terrible roads. I was never a fan a SUVs but I had to reconsider after a few hair raisers. And boy am I glad I did. All the best on your road trip. Ensure you tail transport company buses. They know roads like the back of their hands and you can always discuss with some drivers ahead of the journey, find out their destination and if it aligns with yours, you tail them. |

I really need help on the best engine oil to use...I have searched for 0w 20 and 5w 20 mobil 1 but couldn't find it in enugu mobil stations.. They (mobil) recommended for me mobil XHP or 0w 40 that it's all same... I don't know what to do... Guys please help me out.. Don't Wana make mistakes.. Thanks Mobil Enugu has 5w30. I've bought from there. Go to Mobil at the enugu-ph and abakaliki junction. Close to nnpc mega station. You will find 5w30 there. It's the next best thing after 5w20. Or go to any total filling station and buy their 5w30 grade oil. You should be fine. If you can order the 5w20 from the numerous oil sellers here, then that will be a better solution. Steer clear of that 20w50 oil aka xhp |

Car Talk › Re: 7 Signs That Your Car's Engine Performance Might Be Decreasing by 9icetoo(m): 1:56pm On Nov 20, 2019 |
Mrford: Most Nigeria cars have their check engine light on, that i will agree. Apart from that he is very wrong. He should quit patronising kazeems.
Your check engine light came up because your car rim has the tpms (tire pressure monitoring sensor) build inside it. Your new set didn't have them. Your car ECM couldn't dictect the sensor signal after the change causing it to pop those light on. Failure of the TPMS or the absence of the sensors won't turn on the check engine light. The TPMS light will come on but not the chef engine light. |

radautoworks: Dude, it's obvious you like the car so continue to enjoy it. I just wouldn't advice an enemy to buy it. I said there was no rhyme or reason to repairs we see which means everything on that vehicle is constantly in the shop. The owner maintains this vehicle so how it happened is a puzzle.
I could list all the symptoms of the ones that come to the shop but would be pointless. The previous one had the cooler house spontaneously explode while driving. The one before threw a rod. Another had electrical system just go haywire.
Agree to disagree Village people things. |
Car Talk › Re: What Is The Highest Speed You Have Ever Hit While Driving Or Riding? by 9icetoo(m): 3:33pm On Nov 15, 2019 |
Jakumo: On a whim a few years back, I decided to saddle up and head north along the desolate California Highway 395, all the way to the Mammoth Mountain ski area, in the Sierra Nevada range. The journey began in Ontario California, on a spring day in late May, right at the tail end of the annual ski season.
Highway 395 is a speed demon's playground, where drivers of fast cars engage their electronic police radar-detectors, and then, when the coast is clear, with no California Highway Patrol cruisers on the horizon, open up to full throttle so as to explore the world beyond 100 mph, for mile upon mile of dead-straight trajectory.
On my ski trip from Ontario California to Mammoth Mountain, I averaged 110 mph ( 180km/hr), for a terrestrial flight lasting 4 hours without letup. As night drew closer, I pulled off into the desert, and slept in my car under a star-lit sky, before waking at dawn to complete the desert run by midday the following day, just in time to commence some serious late-season snow skiing under the gondola lifts.
From Google Earth, here is a picture of the fabled Highway 395, where the question is just how long you can cruise in excess of 100 miles per hour, without losing concentration and ending up like James Dean. I will drive on that road. Bucket list activated. Even if it's the last thing I do before I die. See road. And it's gonna be in a v8 behemoth. Pedal to the metal. |

Seems cyber peace has been terminated. Smartchoiice seems to be away. Oya na. Let the games begin. OP, if you seek better protection (what against, I do not know) and you seem to think 5w40 will offer you that, then by all the pistons and rings in your car, do so. At least I am sure you will lose a few mpg, the other consequence(s) if any is what I am not sure of. Been to other car forums where people have run 5w40 against the recommended 5w30 or 5w20 and their engines didn't grenade after years of use. However, those people may not report if and when their engines quit. So it's up to you. |
