Majority of roads in Nigeria are tarred with rough surface which aren't drift friendly not to talk of the roads not wide or secured enough to accept drifting. Your C230k or the ES350 were not made out of the factory for that neither did you mod them to.

can you actually drift in a corner with your Benz probably yes with speed but the road to do that in isn't available at your disposal.

They do but they wouldn't really know if your car is registered or not until you get close and most times they are slow to react and you zoom past. Passed two of their points before they even knew I was close. Same goes for army check points.

Let me give you a shocker. Electronic power steering appeared in a 2007 Honda city before your Benz. Paddle shifters appeared in same 07 Honda city before a Benz of the same class. Let that sink in slowly. Benz are just another group of automakers competing in a harsh market. Benz was "Benz" pre 2000 before the bean counters took over. They haven't recovered since then.

Go for the rx300. The 1st gen acura had issues with transmission oil and coolant mixing which kills off transmission. That doesn't make it a bad car but the rx300 is a thoroughbred.

I wanted to comment but learnt that people lost their lives. So I will just say RIP to the dead.

Soapy water and paint brush does it for me. With a rag to wipe off the soapy water. I do this myself.
I don't risk the steam and engine wash. Too many things that can go wrong and I don't want to be the guy with his bonnet open at the car wash calling a mechanic.
Only time steam is used is when washing radiator or condensers. And I cover the engine and alternator with water proof before they start.

OP, after all the troubles, you went ahead to list Nissan's, fords and Volkswagen products in your bucket list? Your village people are at work oo.
Consider the Hyundai elantra, accent, Kia Rio, honda civic and the w202 mentioned.

Most importantly, go with a reputable mechanic in those brands or pay Gazzuzz or any of the reputable vehicle pre-purchase inspectors here their token fee to avoid heart aches. The money you spent changing all those parts in your Honda will pay the pre-purchase inspection fee and leave you with enough change to take your wife out instead of dashing it to mechanics.

Increase your budget slightly to avoid buying cheap troublesome cars. They are cheap for a reason.

Consider the 98 Camry too. It is a crazily reliable car. You can even fix it yourself with all the experience you've gained with the Honda if something ever goes wrong.

I'm not a big fan of commenting on nairaland forum, but I just had to encourage my new found friend/auto broker.

Lol. I am not a strictly jap guy. I just don't like the way people put them down. I love the Peugeot. Had one in the family, drove it when I started driving and the acceleration is something else.
The bmw 850i was the first sports car I fell in love with. The design was mind-blowing. The reliability is nothing to write home about though.

Please sir i need your help. I saw your post back then in 2013 about obd code p1349, am having similar problem now and my car 8s seriously losing power. Fuel pump has been changed several time, OCV has been changed too. But before then the VVT actuator was making knocking sound so it was repaired i don't know if that's the problem because the timing has been set severally by different mechanic. But the code still returns after clearing it and the car is losing power with poor acceleration. Please sir help out on what to do to solve this problem.

How long have had this vehicle and what type of oil have you been using?

Follow greenhulks advice. You will be okay. At startup, both oils offer the same protection. At higher temp, you may lose a bit of mpg as the 30 weight oil is slightly heavier but in an older car is not a death sentence. Buy synthetic to keep sludge at bay.

Is the engine timing belt or chain driven?

Hello my people, yesterday, I realized that, Naija fuel doesn't stop our cars from achieving the required MPG o.

On the highway yesterday, I got 28.4 MPG, 8.4l per 100km.....i was wowed.

If the journey had continued b4 I got into town, I probably would have gotten more.

Your car does not require premium fuel. If it does, you won't get the stated mpg.
I consistently got above the stated mpg on my Camry (sold), my Skoda (diesel) and my Honda city. These did not require premium fuels.

Update us on your Xylene usage.

So far so good. One liter mixed with 30 ml transmission oil and 20 ml diesel fuel does the trick.
I don't use the mixture when doing town driving though. Only use it when I travel with family which is often these days.
Ping is gone but like I posted in another thread, car doesn't ping when I travel alone (without load) even without the xylene mixture.
But it does feel faster when it has the xylene mixture in it and the fuel economy is always above 13 mpg when it's got xylene in it around town.
