donfineboi: U just a hater... Dbanj is way bigger than what he was during mohits. He's been endorsed by the Bank of industry. That's a blank cheque, to go beyond his wildest dreams, they'll foot the bill for him, right now he can afford to go to any length. He's the biggest thing in africa now. Deal with itIs he bigger than K'naan? Most people just comment for the sake. K'naan has charted 2 albums in USA and even a top 5 single("Waving Flag" . |
killayut: Where is Rivers state to be visited ? Visit Bakana, Kula, Degema, Kalaibiama, Obonnoma, ABUA, Bille , Isaka, To see if AMAECHI HAS DONE ANYTHING...The problem with you Bayelsa people is that you salivate over Rivers riverine part. The aim is nothing but the oil and nothing more as can be proven with the Soku incident. By the time Sekibo comes out of the closet and Amaechi declares for Rivers East shall we know who is from Rivers and who's not. I won't respond to you again as I'm done with this topic. Amaechi will always win and you will as usual burst your own pipeline, kill your own people and pollute your own water in the name of militancy. |
kalunomics: why is taking cocain and marijuana a crime? I mean it's my choice and it's in no way innocuous to people?I've been asking same. Some types of kleptomania is hereditory and not the individual's choice. Same goes with a lot of behaviour which majority of society find repulsive. Marijuana is better to be tolerated than homosexuality. |
mojounited: My point is, if the State Government wants to carry out road construction; be it rural or urban roads, then just make it worth-while...not a shaby job of simple asphalt and compaction (that will be washed off within 2 rainy seasons) - but with good stone base level and crush before asphalting, talkless of absence of pedestrain lanes and closed gutters with slabs. That road in Oron (as depicted) was constructed during the era of military administration. If it needs to be reconstructed, I'll yearn for a better job that'll be durable.Yes the road leads from Ikot-Abasi to Uyo via Abak. Some of these roads have stone base but will still go bad because of our topography. What we actually need is complete refill with sharp sand, casting with steel, cement and hard core before tar. The complaints are about the aesthetics and the accuracy of the lines. I only considered the roads okay just because they only link families and kindreds. Most intra-community roads in Africa are like that. Even inside Lagos State, Rivers State and Abuja. |
Charlestotle: Guy is dia any damed difference...sleeping with a fellow gender is out of place......14yrs imprisonement shi ke ne!!!The law does not prohibit same sex intimacy provided none of the parties was forced. The law is against marriage. The whole court proceeding is illegal. |
mojounited: Whatever is worth doing, is worth doing well. Those pictures are a disgrace...Some of you act like all is rosy in Akwa-Ibom roads like we are not the ones using them. The road that links Uyo to East-West road is not better than these roads shown here true or false? Meanwhile this picture is from the Oron you asked me to visit.
|
IGBO-SON:Akpabio has not constructed any single intra-community road . He has focused mainly on inter-community roads and major roads. What Rochas is doing is going further than just connecting communities but touching the inner parts of the communities. These kinds of roads are called NDDC roads and expected to serve limited traffic. |
The 1st roads are inner rural roads that no one ever imagined could ever be constructed. There is nothing wrong with them as per their purpose but I can attest that major rural roads are better. @poster please could you label the pictures so that we know the exact points they were taken. |
Abiola was the richest man then just like we have Dangote today. How wise does it sound for Dangote to contest 2015? Abiola made a very wrong decision. |
gbanikiti: 14 years imprisonment on my mind......Is the law against "same sex intimacy" or "same sex marriage"? |
Seems Musiwa's prayer has reached the Presidency. |
Abuja- The Federal Government is rolling out plans to use space technology to enhance national security, communication, industrialisation and sustained socio-economic development. President Goodluck Jonathan made this known on Tuesday when he inaugurated a 13-member National Space Council (NSC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said that given the critical place of space technology in national security, communication, industrialisation and sustained socio-economic development, the need to properly structure and drive the national space programme could not be over-emphasised. “This informs why our administration has constituted this council with high calibre membership. “We must evolve clear cut initiatives that will not only fast-track our industrialisation process, but one that will also see us, within the shortest possible period, to be able to build our own motor vehicles, our own boats and our own aircraft. “We should also be able to launch our own satellite manufactured in Nigeria from a launch site in Nigeria on a launch vehicle made in Nigeria.” Jonathan said this was a challenge not only to the members of the council, but to all Nigerians. “We should rededicate ourselves to building a better, technologically advanced, stable and prosperous Nigeria for our children.” He reiterated government’s unwavering commitment to the actualisation of the goal of the programme, and urged members of the Council to evolve measures that would enable the country to maximally benefit from the huge investments in the development of space technology. The Council is chaired by the President, while Vice President Namadi Sambo is the deputy chairman. Other members are the ministers of science and technology, communication technology, education, defence, interior and national planning. The attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice; professors Elijah Mshelia, Vincent Olunloyo and Francesca Okeke, and the director-general, National Space Research and Development Agency, are also members of the Council. The National Space Council is the apex body charged with the responsibility of developing policy guidelines for the country’s activities in space, in addition to monitoring the implementation of the National Space Programme. Malawian: what i am saying is that elderly ika speak a language i can understand. you were kind of agreeing with him that mordern day ika speak different from elderly ika. that is why i said rubbish. All languages do evolve and in some instances turn to new languages. Ika is classified as a separate Igbo dialect like Ikwerre, Ogba or Ezza. The mistake Agbotaen has been making is in using language, Kingship and origin which points to Igbo instead of the "rights to ethnic determination" which states that you could speak same language and have same origin but you have a right on what ethnic group you belong. Owa Kingship descended from Odogwu an Igbo warrior from Nri as stated by the Obi of Owa. |
thelastPope: After watching this video, i feel like giving Buhari and Tinubu a hot slap each! These guys should be in jail, if not for this democracy thing. They are very BIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGG FOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLSSS!How does the video concern Buhari and Tinubu. The villagers claim the Boko Haram guys are not Nigerians. I believe they were talking about the real Jihadist Boko Haram but I believe the political ones are Nigerians. |

Onyegecha: Workers in Imo state have defied threats by the state government and shut down the secretariats to protest government insensitivity to their welfare.Ok. What will it profit you to spoil a progressing State? Its obvious those sponsoring this nonsense. |
Chillypelly: @Onyegecha I commend you for being counted on the side of the truth. One of the reasons Imo will find difficulty in governance is because there are more sycophants than the rest of the population. Ohakim was my mother's relative but that didnt stop me from participating in processes that ousted him.Is he dualizing the Owerri-Aba highway? That's commendable if its wide enough. I hope you remember Wetheral road was dualized with block and it was this same Okorocha that removed the block and used casting for both the median and drainage. Dede1 said it was nothing to cast drainage and median. Today Wetheral road. Is wearing a more solid new look. Enugu government has stayed 6years and what they did was commendable urban renewal like Rochas is doing. With the pace he started with, I think more will be achieved in 4 years time and will surpass Enugu. However road is not the only thing I expect from Rochas. My judgement day for his 1st tenure is December this year when I'll take a tour of the entire Imo State. At the moment, my movements have been Owerri-Oguta-Orlu. If all I will see is just roads, then I'll score him below average like I did for Akpabio. The reason why I pick Amaechi ahead of others is because he went beyond painting roads and bridges to standard hospitals and hundreds of standard schools. His highest achievement is in youth enpowerment and re-orientation. He ended "marching grant", cultism and reduced crime to the barest minimum without engaging thousands of police checkpoints like his Abia counterpart. |
A State with bright future. What impresses me most about Osun people is that they still take farming seriously. Even the cab drivers and market women engage in farming. |
v love: AMECHI HAS MURDERED SLEEP.Mention what Amaechi did. You people just type out of ignorance. |
PapaBrowne: When a President persecutes a Governor, it is sacrilege and desecration of our constitution. The Governors have actually killed the Local Government system. I think we should make all the 3 tiers independent or operate a federal system with each State being almost independent. |
kingingkinging: Why?I don't know. I think there's an attempt to mould Nairaland in a pattern that suits the wish of some people. I think the site is under duress. |
Timehin: So Ameachi is no longer interested in becoming VP/President or he meant not vying for any political position under PDPAmaechi had never declared interest in vying for VP or anything but we can assume that he is being approached or could be interested as well but he has never talked about or confirmed it. Many people outside Rivers State are ignorant of the politics as even people on the streets know that there are plans to impose Senator Sekibo as the next Governor. |
How did Amaechi wrestle Jonathan? That he condemned slow pace of work on East/West road or he intends to vie for a political place in 2015? IMHO, I've still not read anywhere Amaechi talked down on GEJ or challenge the President's authority. If anyone knows, let him show me. The politics here is not even about 2015 Presidency but 2015 Rivers State Governorship. Patience wants Sekibo as Governor while Rivers people want an Ogoni of which Amaechi is in support of Godwin Abe. Let us watch the drama unfold but remember I wrote it 1st. Nyesom Wike's interest is in the Rivers East senatorial which Amaechi is also eyeing. |
I opened this same thread yesterday and was banned. |

Sekibo cannot rule Rivers State in 2015 and there's nothing to stop the Ogoni as long as the rest of Rivers State is behind them. Even if Abbey must not emerge, then Abuja people should look for another Ogoni replacement or better still create Ogoni State. |
This is an old thread resurrected for mischievous reasons. There exists no Igbo hegemony and Ikwerres are good hosts to multiple ethnic groups of which Igbos outnumber others. Igbos and their Ikwerre hosts are in good terms and that is why Ikwerreland continues to flourish. We'll continue to inter-marry, trade and invest for the good of us all. God bless Port Harcourt, God bless Rivers State, God bless Nigeria. |
Chillypelly: @Abagworo I feel sorry realising how gullible you present yourself. Please clearly state one signature project by Rochas outside the dualization of orlu township roadsDualizing Orlu and Okigwe township roads alone has made him exceptional because all the past Governors concentrated on Owerri and in that process left Orlu and Okigwe under-developed. He has constructed several new link roads in Owerri in addition to Orlu, Okigwe, Mbaise, Oru and several other villages. My only reservations just like I've always stated remains the quality of the roads. However all his predecessors never did any rural roads, schools, parks, housing estates not to talk of quality. Udenwa built the Secretariat and that remains a landmark achievement even though it is undergoing slow renovation at the moment. |
I laugh off the double standards often applied by many Nairalanders just because of party affiliation. When Orji Kalu founded PPA, clinched 2 States and came 4th in Presidential elections, our fellow Igbos fought him to a standstill and today PPA is dead and buried inside PDP with Ohakim and Theodore Orji. Rochas was like a beautiful bride when he proclaimed his governorship ambitions but had to settle for APGA as his platform because of his love and reverence for Ojukwu. Now when you compare Rochas with all other Southeast Governors, you'll notice that he honored Ojukwu so much that the most beautiful layout in the Southeast was renamed "Ojukwu boulevard" and he built a housing estate as well as "Hero's Square" in honour of Ojukwu.
|
My own fear lies in the renewed arms proliferation in Bayelsa State. Everyone on the streets know this and believe it is being done by PDP ahead of 2015. What might happen in Bayelsa come 2015 will be worse than 2003-2007 Rivers State. |
princenat: People like you would make themselves God over fellow man if given the opportunity. Hear yourself blabbing. Put yourself in that man's shoes (considering the fact that no one knows the outcome of an accident no matter who rammed into the other), would you still be talking rubbish? You are not being logical here. The Governor was driving and someone suddenly rammed into him but he was lucky to survive. There are questions begging to be answered which you and I do not know. 1) Was it intentional or by accident that he rammed directly into the Governor's car out of many in the convoy? 2) If it was intentional, what was the motive? 3) Was it self planned or was he paid to do that? 4) He could be innocent of assassination attempt 5) Is he innocent of reckless driving? So guy next time you see the Presidents convoy in Abuja just single out the President's car and ram into it to prove a point. Even if na Obama foul-play would have been suspected until proven otherwise.. |
Compare these and understand what politicians in Nigeria can do. http://nigeriafilms.com/news/17054/27/edo-governor-adams-oshiomole-escapes-fatal-acciden.html http://www.thescoopng.com/gov-rochas-okorocha-sustains-injuries-as-convoy-involved-in-accident/ |
