Education › Re: Boy Burns All His Certificates; Explains Why by abbey621(m): 5:39pm On Nov 09, 2019
There's no need to burn anything....Education everywhere is a scam nowadays, how much did you spend in the university? At most 5m? Try spending 15m and above yet still struggling to find high paying jobs. Even in places like USA and the UK, graduates are slowly finding out that the money spent on university education could have helped them launch a successful campaign as an entrepreneur. Forget am o, no job anywhere, if yo uwant a good paying job, your certificates alone won't do it for you. You have to possess the right network, right interviewing skills and a cut throat attitude against your fellow competitors.

True, that might be the norm for the women you know; but I would take the liberty to educate you

Repeated miscarriages can be a function of Rhesus factor incompatibility, a weak womb muscle or worse still a cocktail of medical abnormalities,

Not every woman is walking with an 'ugly past'; and for all the emotions that this lady has put into this post; it is a fucking insensitive thing to say.
You're both right, it could be caused by multiple factors, abortion is also one of them. We are Africans, we operate not only on the physical but the spiritual as well. For the guy to act this way, it seems he has been fed some very bad advice outside, the woman should not only rely on medical solutions but spiritual as well. Usually in cases like this the husband is a willing participant in looking for a viable solution but I doubt if he still believes in her. So the true question is does she love him enough to continue fighting for their marriage or does she abnadon ship while she still can?

Lol, get some sense and stop castigating your country....a Briton wouldn't do that, so please add some more sense, lol, I can lend you one if you need it, lol. Tell me the areas you have been to in London, you that claim to have a higher IQ.
I repeat stick to words at the same level....Britons including Europeans and Americans are among the most critical sets of people in the world, how do you think most revolution starts? Ode....Let's start from the USA where some refuse to stand for their national anthem or the UK where the protest against Brexit and high taxation has led to several people being arrested and several stand offs with the police. I've been to several places in London(oxford, brighton), several places outside of it including birmingham and kent, I've traveled over 14 countries and I've yet to meet someone duller than you....Get sense!

Treason? Slow down Mufasa, don't use words bigger than your IQ...lol. Read up about segragation of duties, some roads are meant to be the work of federal and state while some are that of municipalities. There are some that are even left up to the homeowners/neighborhood associations but what do you know, as far as you're concerned road na road.... BUSH BOY.....lol.

I'm surprised average Nigerian does not know the difference between roads and streets. I'm surpised they don't know the difference between an alley or enclosed area and a motorable road. No motorable road in the UK can degenrate to such levels without the citizens protesting.

I think we all know the drill by now. There's a special set of rules for America and another one for Europe. If you're moving to Europe without proper papers or have the right connection, na SUFFER be your middle name. In America, you can get away with it if you're lucky, that is you come prepared with a few thousand dollars and you are very friendly and good looking. The koko with America is that you must find someone to marry and get your papers as quickly as possible. This is the end game if you come here on a tourist or student visa.

I was fortunate to have parents who were citizens, many are not. So I can understand the hustle. I've seen people come here and ended up suffering beyond comprehension, 7 years and counting still no papers, still working that odd job with no hope of making it big. I've also seen people encounter what I call divine favor. Within 2 years of entering the USA they got their papers, got a good job and 3 years later got their citizenship. What I'm trying to say here is that not everyone is going to be lucky, so MAKE YOUR OWN LUCK! The more people you know abroad the better, the more dollars you can bring the better, be prepared for ANYTHING!

Abi we're to blame this on Buhari and the failed Nigerian government? The sooner we realize that there's a deep capacity for evil in every Nigerian, the sooner we get to the root of this curse. There's something we should be very aware of, tribes does not matter, religion does not matter, in fact wealth status does not matter. The average Nigerian has the capacity to scam, dupe, hurt another if the opportunity arises. Maybe that's why we need 20 churches and 5 mosques on every street or road, God knows how much more destructive we could have become by now......God help us all!

Adiwana:
This is a very bad mentality and its why Nigerians especially traders jump into lagoons when an incident occurs. Many people don't recover due to lack of "financial backings" and this has led to untimely deaths or families being wrecked for life all because of "paying for what I don't need".Insurance companies are not charity organizations but we cant use because the bets are against us or because they make profits and not do the right thing.

Dangote ,the richest man in Africa still insures every bag of cement he produces.Do you really think losing 1 bag of cement takes away anything closely significant to his wealth?? Do you think he can't absorb losing one full trailer of cement??

Petroleum business is a very high risk business that's compounded by bad roads. There was a report here on nairaland that Nigerians lose billions of naira yearly due to bad roads only. You can't expect a person doing business that involves moving tens of millions on our roads to just absorb shock when accidents occur.
The problem is not insurance, the question here remains, are you getting your money's worth? We all know how recklesss and unregulated things like insurance can be in in 9ja and majority of people won't dig deep and read the tiny lettered exceptions in their policy. Heck, majority don't even know what is covered and what is not covered. I worked at an insurance company for several years outside of 9ja and can tell you this, THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS! In 9ja, it is even more precarious. Let's use the case of the tanker for example and 70 cars. They would carryout their investigation, was the driver wearing a seatbelt, was he drunk, did another person caused the accident? Was the road slippery, potholes and so on? Depending on the results of the invesrtigation, the payout could be adjusted anywhere from 20 to 80%. Heck, they could deny your claim completely.

So I would say insurance is worth it as long as you're diligent and understand what exactly is covered and what is not. It is worth it as long as you understand your risk appetite.

What's the use of graduating only to end up making money that can't afford you a decent 2 bedroom flat in Lagos? Fine, Eto played for Cameroun but we have small non-playing teams like Togo, Angola and Congo play at the world cup. Weah should have singlehandled carry Liberia as how expectional players do for their countries.

And to ur last point.................1 gold medal is heavier than 99 silver and bronze...... hmmmm u are right partially but can the financial value of 1gold medal be greater than 99 silverhuh l guess not
Come on surely this is not logical. The teams you mentioned Congo, Togo and Angola had other players playing in Europe and other foreign continents. That Liberia team was one eof the worst in African history, zero talents aside from WEah, no money from the federation to even train the athletes properly. Abeg o, football in 1995 was drastically different from 2005 upwards, there's more money now which means better training and better players.

Kulushkalash:
What i wrote is total hogwash? Are you being objective? I sense bias creeping in!

I regard your perspective and understand the dilemmas you motioned in analysing the intricacies of sex! But you have to agree with me that all of these are the sufferings of the underdeveloped mind.

However, I make a point for the place of the mind in this array. Picasso has been promiscuous from age 16/17! And yet, he came off with astounding works, same for Einstein.

Indeed there are socially inept folks but that does not mean they don't have sex. I think we really should analyse sex and how it's seen. I make a case for it as a lifestyle and a rather natural course of human nature.

Again should scientist or those mentioned be the criteria for measuring brilliance or intellectual abilities.

On individuals not being able to write cvs or aptitude test; I'd restate that it has nothing to do with sex, as several other reason could be a cause.

And you can test me on the basis of aptitude test, or Cv's to know whether i am intellectually inept.

There is a bias in your argument and I hope you see it; sex or its intricacies doesn't mean academic backwardness there are other vices!
You're still getting it wrong. You keep mistaken anormalities for the norm even at that you're only partially correct. You regard Einstein as having a promiscous youth, I don't see it! Einstein in his teenage years was rather uninteresting, he did not fit in socially and was often referred to as 'dopey'. If he was wild and sowing his oats everywhere, I'm sure things might have turned out differently.

Moving on, individuals not being able to write proper CVs or defend themselves during interview is evidence of ineptitude. How can you graduate from a university and be as clueless as before you went in? I keep telling you it's not only about sex, it's about romantic fantasies and all the complications of occupying your mind with the thoughts of lover/lovers. When pleasing a girl is more important than that STAT201 or BUS301 Assignment, when Valentine is more important than studying one week till Final exams. You may think they don't correlate but the result shows otherwise. You can make excuses all you want but you know there's no smoke without fire.

Most first class students are usually not out there partying late every weekend or banging left and right. Most first class students are very competent and able to defend themselves during interviews, most sacrificed a lot and are easily not distracted by social vanities. I never said SEX/RELATIONSHIPS was the only reason, I just cited it as a contributing factor that no one can DENY!
Education › Re: Students' Romance In Classroom: Nigerians React by abbey621(m): 5:40pm On Oct 29, 2019
Kulushkalash:
I think you misunderstand the realities and confusing it with lack of discipline or a regard for handwork as against shortcuts.

Your points are superfluous! How would you rationalize sex and failure at aptitude test undecided? You are in Nigeria dear, you know, also, that failure in some exams requires fact checking! Again does sex causes outright failure? Because if so then everyone in the world should be a failure on the guise that nobody has sex which I highly doubt.

You are missing another point too. The question to ask on why student bribe lecturers isn't because of sex or promiscuity, it's more to do with the realities of the Nigerian system! People have come to realise that hard work doesn't pay in Nigeria and that's why the smartest suffer and are vilified while those with shortcut knowledge are glorified, they bask in ostentatious wealth and people find themselves adoring them and wishing.

On the other hand, however, I'm not lost on the realities, and I can effortlessly point you in the direction of several promiscuous brilliant minds. Davinci, Einstein, Pablo Picasso among several others. The point here isn't the distraction it causes, it's how it's handled. Sex/romance is an expression of self, although, I won't deny how it hurts the attention span but that as well is subject to the level of mental dexterity a person has or how psychologically, a person is developed.

Lastly, What's the truth?
Because I'm sure if you knew, you wouldn't even state what you typed as true! Do your research! And I will do you one better read a bit on biology, and psychology, I think both fields suffices for a rounded understanding or knowledge of the subject!

And if you want your mind blown read on astronomy or astrophysics, when you're done please come back and tell me if you can thump your hand on your chest to state you know the truth.
What you wrote is total hogwash! No I'm not in Nigeria, I grew up in Nigeria and I have also seen the realities beyond Nigeria. Unless you are saying majority of those that failed their exams did so unjustly then you have no point! Even the brilliant minds you cited would show that most of them in their youths were rather inept socially, Einstein was often viewed as retarded. I already told you to do your research using Google , the majority of the scientific community agrees that the more active you are socially and romantically, the less time you have for active scholarly research. Moving on, you keep mentioning sex but I went beyond sex, I'm talking about all the problems a heartbreak, thinking of how to please a lover and so on brings. I'm talking about the endless hours of daydreaming, how one wrong disagreement or action involving a lover can make one sick or troubled for weeks or months. Take it or leave it, facts are facts. Majority of Nigerian graduates cannot successfully put together a well written CV, majority cannot successfully demonstrate the required skillset needed to pass interviews at most companies.

How can you be producing thousands of graduates per yeaar and less than 20% are seen as ready for the job market? I've not only been an employee but now I'm also an employer, I'm not here to argue baselessly or convince you otherwise, I'm not here for your mumbo jumbo! You can cite examples of a few anormalities but once you do a proper survey of most intellectual minds and their lives growing up, you can't deny that most of them were awkward socially. In fact they were so occupied with getting good grades and mastering their craft, they often grew up isolated and out of sync.

Kulushkalash:
This statement is off! What rationale explains an expression of sex with being unqualified, unemployed/underemployed, ignorant, and corrupt. Your comment lacks cohesion and I think you need to repent sad or think better
Simple, whatever you devote your energy towards occupies your existence. If your life is all about sex/romance, other areas usually suffers. In this case, academics/intellectual capacity often suffers when youths are preoccupied with sexual thoughts and dreams of romantic escapades. I've yet to see many scientist or brilliant minds capable of juggling a full social life and high academic activities. Now in Nigeria, the chances are even slimmer because exams are gruesome, lectures are tedious and so on. This has resulted in students finding shortcuts to pass exam/ bribing lecturers. This has led to many unqualified graduates who end up being unemployable or undesirable. The evidence is there if you look closely, Nigeria pumps out thousands of graduates each year but over 70% of them cannot pass a simple aptitude test. Keep deceiving yourself, you know the truth hurts!
