It's the rulers/government that have been saddled with the responsibilities of putting wayward citizen in check.
Humans all over the world would do same if they have the dumb, selfish, evil set of politicians we have.

So blaming the citizen also sound myopic to me. undecided
Have you ever been tothe USA, the UK or most European countries. Do you think it's only the law that keeps people in check? For any law or code to work, there must be willingless to report and ability to self monitor. If you slap your child in the USA, even tho there's no police around, the fear in you knowing that any of your neighbor or witness could call the cops means that you would be more careful never to repeat it. In the UK, it's possible that you can tie down salah goats and Christmas chickens at your home for days but the fear knowing that people are watching you is enough for you to think twice. These are just small examples of cooperation between the governemnt and the citizens. The myopic thing to do is continue believing government is solely responsible for your well being!

Your first paragraph only depicts a symptom of a failed state. So what are you talking about brohuh
A failed state is not the sole responsibility of the governemnt, the citizens must accept equal and fair share of the blame.

Nigerians are not the worst people on earth... Those citizens of those nations didn't necessarily imbibe the behavior themselves, neither were they born with it... It took years of brute force, and social re-engineering...

Enforce the law with massive force, and see how Lasgidi will be cleaner than a new bathtub in a month.
Nigerians are one of the worst in the world statistically and sentimentally. We're talking about honesty, character, knowing right from wrong and so on, you're here talking about brute force. Get it into your head, it is not the government's job to to babysit its citizens! If a human being does not know that pooing in the gutter is crazy then tell me what would the government do to correct that? This is why Nigeria is so messed up, everything government government government, no personal or private responsibilities. You talk of social re-engineering, are you saying the most of these people don't know that it is wrong to throw refuse in the gutter? Are yo usaying they don't know it is wrong to pile up trash until it rains? The answer is simple, they know, THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A F*CK!

If I talk now, some warriors will bring up pictures to compare this slum to other mega cities around the world, claiming that it happens everywhere...

Something termed a rare disaster in those places, is a yearly occurrence in Lagos... How can our leaders sit up when people readily come to their defense online??!... Smh.
What do you want leaders to do about filthy people? People who at the slightest sight of rain start dumping refuse into gutters. People who would buy gala and pure water, consume it and throw the wrapper on the road/street. People who would rather poo/piss in the gutters than to use the bathroom. NO SANE COUNTRY in the world has such myopic citizens, even in Afghanistan people still use common sense!

Listen to this advice at your own peril. If you are dating someone or married and you feel there's a need to tippy toe around the relationship then be prepared for cardiac arrest when your relationship/marriage hits a rough patch. People who give advice such as never do this, never do that keep forgetting one simple fundamental clause, every person is DIFFERENT! Relationship/marriage advice is not a one size fits all kind of thing, each one should be treated according to its circumstance!

pls whats social phising
Phising is when you receive email or a link that looks like it came from someone or a company that you know, you are directed to the link location, everything looks normal, you enter your information but unknowingly you are sending the information to a phisher/attacker. It is just one form of social engineering. Social engineering is when attackers use social media/methods to obtain valuable information.
Programming › Re: What Programming Language Is Used In Creating Viruses? by abbey621(m): 1:28pm On Oct 06, 2019
Master C language or C++ and you're golden, viruses/malwares requires just basic coding, the real work is knowing what you're targeting and if there exists any vulnerabilities at the target host where your exploit can be successfully activated. In fact, social engineering/phishing is usually the more dangerous culprit than any virus.

Stop the nonsense.

You've stated it, you were an essay writer.

You can introduce yourself as a freelance to those who know your specifics or those who are totally ignorant about anything.

Even in the States, when you call yourself a freelancer, they would ask for specifics.

You can use those terms to bamboozle an illiterate.
Okay Chief argue with yourself, freelancing is not a vocation and you know this because of your delusional exposure to 1/10000th of the freelancing world. Just try an experiment, go to indeed.com, monster.com and type in freelancer at the search bar and see if you get any result....If you do then you've solved your own parable.....Goodluck!

Freelance what?

Freelance.

It's like saying I'm a part time. And that's my job.

PART TIME.
You are getting caught up in terminologies instead of focusing on the point. Before I broke through corporate America, I was a freelance essay writer, a freelance database admin, a freelance security analyst and a freelance web developer. I often introduced myself as a freelancer and if they want more details I give them more details but at this day and age, even sh*tting is a vocation grin grin grin. Programming › Re: What Are The Differences Between Programming And Coding? by abbey621(m): 9:37pm On Oct 02, 2019
Nigerians love arguing unnecessarily...There's no difference between the two, a programmer writes codes which serves as a set of instructions or path. A coder writes code which does exactly the same thing. Anybody can be called a coder, anybody can be called a programmer, your actual skill set can vary greatly based on the industry that you are in; for example, a person with a certificate in medical billing and coding can be called a coder, while a computer scientist/software enginer can be called a programmer but make no mistake, they are not mates!

Some men have really strong genes, some families have birthmark or other symbol that must be pesent in every child of that lineage. Some tribes have what I call anti-promiscuity mechanism which means any woman that cheats or brings in a bastaard child is going to pay for it with her life. I read the epistle and all I can see is a person of limited exposure claiming to have seen it all. First of all, what do you mean by host citizens? Majority of these countries are nations of immigrants, this means immigrants represents majority of the population. So who's the host? As long as you've gotten your citizenship, you have every right as non naturalized citizens. Please let's stop this behavior of generalization, why is it that Nigerians are experts in putting their own people down? Why is it that you ignore where Nigerians are contributing meaningfully in the space of science, Engineering, Medicine and so on, the positive contributions far outweighs the negative ones if you truly look at it from an economical perspective.Don't let your experience shape you into thinking the world is as far as you can see, it's much more bigger than that!

African governments don't seem to be swerving away from corruption and indiscipline through democracy.
Democracy has proved to be a successful system of government in Europe and America but has failed woefully in Africa.

Our governments are dictators cloaked as Democrats, Some African leaders have ruled for over ten years through democracy. This system of government has failed thoroughly and I doubt the possibility of a true and insightful leader emerging through democratic election.

At this point, we need more than a general election to solve the current political woe.
It could be a Revolution, Uprising, Heavy protests or Disintegration. We clearly need more than any election.
Would the uprising come from typing on Nairaland or shouting on social media? How many matyrs are in your family? How many cna stand in front of government houses or Aso rock and blow themselves up? How many can go Kamakazee? True revolution costs blood and lives, if you aren't willing to put yours down first please let's just continue drinking the zobo called Nigeria!

If he is unable to be an active participant in the child’s life then he should leave her with her mum. I said what I said because he is clearly not present, yet he is trying to yank the child from her mother and dump her with a relative. He clearly thinks his only responsibility as parent is providing, but you are both wrong in believing that. If he is going to take the kid from her mother, he should be ready to fill her shoes.
By the way, there are many parents (both mums and dads) that provide and parent at the same time, both of which is their responsibility.
Again you ignore situational analysis and focus on black and white rhetoric, didn't you read that they are staying off campus and the mom is in school? do you think this is a conducive environment for a child? I also agree that he is wrong to want to take the child away but believe me, no man wants his child to witness his woman bringing another guy/guys around! Moving on, we are all not privileged to earn the same amount of money or have good jobs. As a parent, you try to balance both but according to Maslow's hierachy, certain needs outweighs others. If a father or mother pays for his or her child's shelter, food and other basic needs but falls short of being available "every" weekend due to job obligations or side hustle, WOE unto anyone that faults him or her, survival comes first! Now this is 9ja we are talking about, if the guy is genuinely concerned about the safety of his child and can provide evidence to back it up, he would win easily in court and there's nothing anyone can do about it but for the sake of the child, they should both work it out amicably without psychological warfare....May God help them!

If everything is well with you and you are not the type to physically or verbally abuse your woman then PLEASE STOP! There's no stopping a woman that wants to leave, not even the biggest blokos can convince such a woman, to her you're leftover eba and the new guy is freshly prepared jollof rice with goat meat. For the sake of your daughter, do not label her as wicked or evil, just realize people fall in and out of love, thank God for the good times and move on!

If you follow through with this you will be the evil one. There is no reason why a child should be raised by a relative when both parents are alive and kicking. You are not even interested in raising you own child, yet you claim her mum, who is raising her, is evil. You need to take a good look at yourself and realize that you are a parent and it is your responsibility to raise your child!

In your current arrangement, how actively involved are you in raising her? how often does she come to live with you at your place? Do you take her on weekends? How many weekends a month? How involved are you in your child’s life?

If you are being a father to your child it will be difficult for someone to siphon money off you because you would already know what your child needs. Even the grandmother can still use your child to siphon money off you, the only way to avoid this is to be an active parent.
Sorry you made a few good points in the beginning but some of your other points are just plain wrong! Everyone knows that the parent with the most custody of the child has the most influence on the child. A father's primary responsibility is survival, making sure they have shelter, food and other basic ammenities. If in the path of providing these things he's forced to work 80 to 100 hours per week, he's forced to do some hustle on the side. Tell me how would he have time to be soap opera dad you clearly stated above? Before calling someone a bad parent, let's try to understand their circumstance, especially in Nigeria where the lack of money is more shameful than being an alcoholic. If attention without money equaled being a great parent then deadbeat dads would always have hope grin grin grin grin

If Lagos is cursed then 95% of Nigerian states are cursed, bewitched and zombified...lol. The problem here is that the government is too big and the population is too large for such a small geographical area. It's the same problem cities like New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta face on the daily. In LA, if you're not careful you can spend 5 hours or more in traffic, even with all the advancement and oversabi citizens, traffic jam is their curse, homeless people full their streets and taxes, omg taxes, let's just say yearly taxes can send people back to their villages if not careful. The point is simple, despite falling short of our expectations, LAgos still remains one of few states in Nigeria that actually represents the hope of the people. States like Ogun/Osun/Ekiti, many states in the East and majority of the North can only dream of emulating.
