ZooOga:Hope you can wait another 100 to 150 years because that's how long it took most of these so called advanced countries to refine their democracy into something manageable. |
Advocate500:Sorry to say but you're sleeping. The Northerners don't see everyone the same, the Biafrians son't see everyone the same, the Igbos don't see everyone the same and certainly the Yorubas don't see everyone the same. Other countries' political tactics won't work in Nigeria for we are a place with an entirely different spirit. Religion, tribes, political godfatherism and so on, the person wey fit save 9ja dem never BORN AM! |
No be only 9ja jaga jaga, all African countries are mostly sh*th*les. How can someone be a proven killer and still end up in a powerful political position? We go come dey act surprised when they start acting like tyrants....lol. |
JonDon12:I misread nothing, 1 in 5 kids don't know where their next meal will come from. 1 in 5 are living in extreme poverty. Your argument is that no kids goes hungry in America because we have social services, handouts and they can steal, your argument is based on your little town or geographical location and not based on any proper statistical research. As someone that works with numbers and stats all day, I find it comical but you're right no need to argue anymore ![]() |
DarkJeddi:Special effort? LMAO....They were successful, that's all the effort they need. There are two ways to be popular, do something really good or do something really bad......That's all the special effort you need ![]() |
JonDon12:I don't have to argue with you, the statistics says that you're wrong!

LMAO....I've lived and worked in the USA for a decade now, you guys must think social service is some kind of magical wand or fairy that takes away poverty and hunger....LOL. At least do your research on Google, 1 in 5 American children are starving. 1 in 7 adults go to bed hungry everyday. 1 in 4 black households cannot guarantee 2 square meals a day. We have more kids who ran away from the foster system per year than we can count, social services can only help those that they can find and even at that backlogged cases can take years to resolve! |
DarkJeddi:Hakeem Olajuwon(NBA champion), Bennet Omalu(CTE & brain injuries), Uzo Aduba(Orange is the new black), Wale(Rapper). All these are great achievers recognized as Nigerian and American.....Plenty more to come! |
buddenlove:English is very simple but your comprehension is whack! The evidence of this case is tainted and cannot be used hence the court has no choice than to declare him absolved of all charges. A person that cannot be convicted based on available evidence is what? INNOCENT/ACQUITTED! |
LET'S NOT SENSATIONALIZE THINGS! In the USA we have kids sleeping under bridges, kids living with rats, kids hooked on drugs. Same in London, same in France. The problem is not only a local one but global as well. The poor are poor based on bad decisions from parents, governments and nation as a whole. The rich are rich based on good decisions. The poor believes others are to blame for their failures and that other people will take care of them, the rich believes they are responsible for their own success and/or failures, they believe they have to look out for themselves because they can't rely on others. In the end, NO ONE GIVES A BLEEP WHETHER YOU LIVE OR DIE! If you are blessed try to help the poor, if you don't want to no maga can force you! If you're poor don't expect the rich to save you, either ESCAPE your mental and physical slavery or PERISH! |
Omoluabi16:LMAO ![]() |
buddenlove:In other words, he is innocent in the eyes of the law. No case can be brought against him......English no too hard....lol. |
Omoluabi16:Even Nigerians born abroad are still called Nigerians.... That's the power of dual citizenship, a blessing and a curse ![]() |
millionboi2:Idea, inventions, plans etc? So many great ideas/inventions or plans have died with their creator because no one knew about them. |
Whatever is yours is yours! If you like tell 1 Billion people about an idea that you have, if it is truly yours they won't find the means nor the time to be able to steal it. A lot of ideas/inventions in Nigeria died with their creators because no one knew. It is simple, most Nigerians have great ideas but lack the funding or the avenue to bring them to reality. DO YOU THINK KEEPING IT INSIDE WOULD REALLY HELP THESE PEOPLE? Ideas without action/investors is basically worthless! |
shogsman:We don't need to make excuses for any of them, I would have been more sympathetic if they went after Nigerian politicians and corrupt businessmen instead of innocent whites and black foreigners. Most of these vagabonds are the reasons why kids age 9 to 15 don't believe in hardwork anymore, everyone wants to shine like diamond but nobody wants to dig it out of the cave mines. |
shogsman:Do you feel the same way about armed robbers or kidnappers? I'm sure they are some of them that would choose another path if they had real options....lol. Nigerians we like to eat our cake and have it, let me know how you would feel when some unknown person wipes out all your life's savings ![]() |
MrBrownJay1:Sure they exist but to say these events happens just as much as adults? That's funny! |
MrBrownJay1:An adult pouring acid on a kid is understandable, aunties and unclies deforming their nieces and nephews.....Welcome to the 21st century . |
This is what I don't get, most of these politicians travel abroad, they have delegates or representatives that arre well educated. They have the finances, the tools to do the job properly, why deploy suchan archaic solution? Is Abia really that poor? Like someone said earlier, WHO DO US? |
MrBrownJay1:I'm not arguing on what's right or wrong just applicability. The context here is a child, presumably well below 18. Do you think a child will actually be an active participant in money ritual of a family member? All the reasons you mentioned are of criminal nature, so why is the child roaming about free? We can ramble about on hypothesis but the more likely scenario is a wicked aunt who lost her temper. Let's stop this culture of seeing evil and yet giving justification for such evil. |
MrBrownJay1:Lol....So does those scenarios apply in this situation, keep in mind it's just a kid, money ritual? Really ![]() |
If the job is guaranteed, take it. You'll earn valuable income and savings needed to propel your business idea into existence. Trust me without capital, you're on a long thing. Do not borrow money to start a business, do not tell your parents or anyone to raise you. Work for it, you'll appreciate the value in the long run! You are still young hence working for a few years will not detract you from your entrepreneurial dreams. |
QuintessentialW:Yes God knows best which is why you must not be judge and executioner. Don't take revenge for soemthing you had no control of, don't keep a grudge for something beyond your undertsanding. Even if the man was not in anyway a good father, don't you think the fact that he had something to do with you coimg to this world deserves acknowledgment? In the past week can you count how many sins you committed knowingly or unknowingly? Why hasn't God struck you down? If he can forgive surely you can find a space in your heart for this man that has clearly erred, surely you can show him that love trumps hate or neglect? I've seen so much of this world to know that it is much more beyond what we see, I wish you best of luck! |
Parents be careful how you train your children, be weary of what bad things you tell you r sons or daughters about your partner. A true psychologists can discern a bit of fib from her story: Myself and my siblings were raised (from when I was about 8 years old) single handedly by my mum. Even all the 7 years that my father lived with us, my mum chiefly ran the home... she was the one who paid rent and school fees and ensured quality feeding. So you mean an 8 year old child knew who was paying rent, school fees? An 8 year old child knew who put money down for the well being of the family or was this what she was told after the man left? What OP fails to understand is that whether he did his duties or not, he's still your biological father and that is a God given role. Africa being a place where physical meets spiritual, I wouldn't be surprised if the man was suffering from serious depression mixed with gigantic spiritual battles. All in all, unless you truly forgive this man, you might not know peace. End the cycle now, do not let the sins of the father create the sins of the child. |
jayfolarin:You're both right, some have enough money to care about issues like this while some are just getting started and would rather keep making money than to speak up on issues that they can't control. Racism is everywhere even within our own Nigeria but people pass people. Money is a serious motivator especially when you've suffered years of extreme poverty. |
merahki:Funny....You think referees care about emotions, rules are rules and the referee did nothing wrong. Raising his middle finger and kicking the ball was all the justification the referee needed. |
symbianDON:Of course it's further maths, regular maths is for under 6 years old in Asia ![]() |
wirinet:Do you know the word 'context'? Did the OP mentioned that she was a Christian? As far as I'm concerned she practices Islam, she's just not practicing it the way it is meant to be practiced. Now to answer some of your ridiculous assertions, you claim he saw that she was not a devoted Muslim when he married her so he should just let it be, the same can be said of the wife. She saw that he came from a strong Muslim background and that he prays 5 times daily, what was she expecting? The fact remains simple, religion is not by force neither is marriage. In a union especially an Islamic one, you have to obey your spouse's wishes. If you cannot then it is best to leave. Komot relifgion for this matter, if a woman feels she cannot conform to the wishes of the man she married, what options do you suggest? |
wirinet:If the OP follows your advice she's bound to end up going from frying pan to fire. Muslims pray 5 times daily because it is commanded by the Almighty not their husband or wife. The fact that the man eats her food and still lays with her shows that he's not after marrying another wife rather he wants her to change. The OP already said he comes from a strong muslim household, this goes to show you where his orientation comes from, a woman with kids will surely influence her kids. The man is thinking about the bigger picture but most women being the emotional creatures that they are can only see the present. Think about it, why would a woman come on Nairaland asking for advice just because her man told her to start acting like a real Muslim? Why would you watch your man keep malice for a whole YEAR and still refuse to adjust? Is she trying to prove stubborness or that she can't obey him? Religion or no religion, one's character cannot be hidden for too long! |
chigoizie7:All the good points you made drowned by your generalization, you don't know the guy yet you already classified him......Are you not one of 9ja's problem? Sir Criticizer of Nairaland first of his name ![]() |
Victorex001:I get it but not all Nigerian degrees are created equal. Most degrees don't match up to their equivalency abroad, sure you can do masters but can you defend it? A computer science graduate from Nigeria gets to the USA, gets a masters in systems development or information technology, yet when they get to interviews they can't articulate the difference between x64 and x86 architecture. A nursing graduate from Nigeria yet he or she can't pass the Nursing board exam on first try. You get my point, it is one thing to have the degree, it is another to back it up.....Unfortunately most of what students are learning in Nigerian universities are 5 to 10 years outdated. |
