Good morning all,pls what's the cost of renewal of a driving license in Abuja/Nigeria? Mine just expired June this year.

N6,350 for 3yrs and N10,350 for 5yrs

N2,000 per year plus bank charges of N350.

You can log in and pay with your Driver's license number and date of birth on their website https://nigeriadriverslicence.frsc.gov.ng/license/renewal/MHbBoe7K37INAnjE4cg pls check yes to recapture data (that was advised by FRSC officer.last time).

Then print acknowledgment slip, sign and proceed to the Driver's license centre for approval and optional data capture. They may collect N500-1000 for vision test or others. I did same process last time, they took N500 from me, bought fuel for gen to do my data capture. They will charge more if they did the process for you.

Make sure your payment status reflects confirmed before you print the slip. This slip also helps you avoid FRSC or VIO if payment is confirmed. Infact, I just paid last week and yet to go for data capture.

If your license is class E, better go directly to them.

The engine is good but can fail prematurely. I learned its due to blocked catalyst, 2003-7 by design is lenient on a blocked catalyst but not 08.

Overall, its strong and heavy.

Major differences is the Mediatek on the 9 vs Snapdragon on 9s/9pro.

Others are smaller screen, plastic back, 3g ram option, a lower 13mp front camera and a significant lower price.

I have always been very confident in my 2003 Accord. Many times people get scared when i drop my keys inside the car but it is totally safe to do that in my car. One has to be inside to lock doors. From outside, its either key or remote.

I have found the a phone I want to buy, with AliExpress standard shipping is about 79+k on one seller and another seller is 78+k via DHL (overall cheapest). If I will pay duties of 5k or less, I will do DHL but more than that would be a deal breaker.

I need an idealistic amount of duties.

I have serious ghost touch on my Xiaomi MI 5. Sometimes the screen Will freeze of if the ghost touch becomes too much, just locking and unlocking the screen helps. If I place the phone flat on its back, It will be usable. Sometimes i can't answer a simple call.

I have removed the screen guard 4 months ago when it started like a dead spot on the screen.

She has been mounting pressure on me to follow her to meet her parents. We have been in this relationship for a year now. Although she is not the only one I am dating. I am not sure of the other lady, but atleast this one is ready to marry me.

I am not sure if I genuinely love her or not, but a part of me love her..A part of me want to treat her bad, whenever I remember what she did to me in the past.

3 years ago, I started noticing and showing interest in her being my junior sister’s friend. I discussed with my sister who encouraged me to approach her that she had no boyfriend. We were on talking terms before which was an opportunity. So I leveraged on that to get closer to her. When she noticed I was getting closer, she started giving me attitudes, stopped talking to me. Finally she stopped coming to our house. She would give my sister thousands of excuses why she was not chanced to come to our house.

We met at a friends birthday party, to my surprized, she warmed up to me, greeted me. I though she must have repented. While the party was on, I asked her to come to my table and spend sometimes with me, she said “ok”. I waited for hours, she didn’t come. I later saw her in the room with the celibrant. I jokingly said to her “You dey whine me abi”. She just went off, started ranting, she said I should say whatever I want to say now infront of everyone..infront of her friends. “Why do you want me to come and sit with you?” say it now “let the whole world hear”. It was so embarrasing for me. I just said to myself “whats there..are they not aldult?..dem never toast all of them before”.

My sister was there, got angry and left us. She had already warned me to leave her alone. That I am interfering with their friendship. On my birthday, she replied to my whatsapp pictures with love and kiss icons. She went to facebook to like all my birthday pix. Facebook was alerting me as she was clicking. She finally sent me happy birthday..where is my cake..we started gisting again. She apologized for what she did that day, that she was not in a good mood that day (someone who met, joked and laugh with me, even agreed to come sit with me on my table).

We continued chattin for weeks, I made sure I didn’t get intimate with her. One day, my sister was playing with my phone, then saw our chats, read through our chats. She was mad at me. She confronted me and nearly slapped her for disrespect. She later calm down and explain to me that if I knew what this girl said about me on group chat, that I would shoot her if I have a gun. That’s when I closed her chapter. Blocked her on facebook, whatsapp, instagram. I moved on. My sister did photoshoot for her birthday and some of her friends came. I saw her and just greeted her, minding my business. Then I was dating another girl then, so it’s a win win for all. She stayed behind, when everyone left, she asked my sister to help her beg me. She knelt infront of me started telling me “she was sorry..she was being childish” This was someone that was in her 24 when I was chasing her. I said I forgave due to pressure from my sister. Since then, she will come to my apartment, do my laundary, cook soup inside my freezer. When she is coming from work, she will branch at my place prepare food on my table. At times she offered to sleep overnite, that she cooked till late in the night, which I will refuse.

But one thing led to another, one day, we had sex. And that changed everything. I couldn’t resist her again. But a part of me still hate her whenever I remember those disgraceful moments. Now she is 26, she want us get married. If I marry her, I may treat her bad.

In a dilema seriously and its giving me headache.

The car I am talking about warms up even faster than my DC which has its thermostat intact..

From a cold morning start in Jos, by the time I back out of my compound and make my way to work which is barely 2 kilometres away from home, the vehicle temp gauge is already very close to the middle.....and Nigerians know how cold Jos can be..

By the time I switch on the car a few minutes later for a 5 minute drive to court, the vehicle is at optimal temp within two minutes...and the fan may never come on for a whole day unless I meet some hefty traffic...

And yes, the fuel consumption was better...I was getting 8km per liter on city driving compared to the 5km per litre before the fan auto connect...I know this because I deliberately drove the car till the car stopped due to an empty tank..I then bought 575 naira fuel (exactly one gallon of fuel), reset my trip A to 0.0 and drove within the town till the car stopped due to no fuel...by the time that car stopped, I had covered 32.4 kilometres, which is approximately the exact factory stated mpg for the car...it's rated 20mpg for city driving...

For express driving, it took me exactly 11 litres of fuel to cover the 108km distance between Jos to Bauchi town...that's almost 10km per litre


D nigga who bought the car told me after filling his tank (65 litres) at NNPC in Jos, the gauge came down to 'e' at Owo in Ondo State...that should be close to or more than 600km on a full tank..he didnt use ac sha...so it seems the longer d journey, the better the mpg

Don't misconstrue me Sir, I am all for thermostats and stuff...but I honestly never knew a baby boy's fans can work in auto mode without a thermostat, and still get amazing MPG and not overheat at all...in fact if that vehicle is driven for about 20 minutes and parked under normal sunshine, by the time you come back in about an hour and switch on the vehicle, the temp gauge will rise to the middle before you even back out of where it was parked....that's how efficient the heating preservation of the enginewas

And yes, just one fan (gearbox side) comes on when the engine need it...the otherwise fan never comes on unless I switch on the vehicle AC, at which point, the AC thermostat cycles on and off both fans and compressor depending on temp in one of the AC hoses...

And yes...when fan was connected direct, the engine idle RPM hardly went below 1000rpm unless on very long journeys...but with the fan auto connect, engine idle rom dropped to about 750rpm and rises to 1000rpm when AC is switched on


My present car, a Honda DC V6, has both engine and ac factory thermostats installed...and it's all good...but if that engine thermo gets stuck in the closed position, I will take it to my rewire to yank it out and set the fan the way he set the baby boy's...I cannot be on 160km/hr on Lokoja-Abaji Road and have one yeye thermostat close on me and overheat my car...I will only put a new thermostat if the fans can't run on auto without one..

Personally, I feel the fans auto cycling on and off without a thermostat is the best of both worlds..no thermostat to put one in trouble on a lonely road and vehicle still hits optimum operating temperature very fast...

Lastly, aside the Honda Baby boy with a 4-cylinder engine, I dont know if any other car can have fans on auto without the thermostat...if any car's fans need the thermostat to run on auto, then the thermostat is compulsory...

I am not a mechanic but as a hands-on user, this is my humble opinion due to my personal experience

You have misunderstood what a thermostat does.

Thermostat in a car has no direct connection with cooling fans.

A thermostat is purely a Mechanical device while the fan is electrical.

A thermostat only blocks cold coolant coming from radiator to engine when cold an allows coolant to enter the engine when optimum temperature is reached. That's the end of its job.

What controls the fan is a fan (temperature)q switch (sensor). It is a simple smaller thermostat device just like the other thermostat but this time it merely completes a circuit turning the fan at a certain temperature and opens the circuit at other lower temp. Some mechanics call it cold start sensor.

The thermostat closes coolant at lower temp and the fan switch turns on the fan at high temp.

The temp range between the low and high is the optimum operating temperature of the engine.

Direct fan connection is just joining the 2 wires of the fan switch sensor. Any car fan will work automatically if this sensor is not bypassed.

If your baby boy heats up to operating temp in less than 3mins WITHOUT THERMOSTAT, IMHO you have a problem.

Ii am currently facing this issue in my EOD. I removed the thermostat because I its rubber seal got broken and it doesn't close properly. The issue i have is that if I am driving in rain or high speed with AC, the temp falls too low and RPM goes high. It also happens when I put on AC at cold startq, the temperature does not climb to operating temp leaving me with high RPM.

Yes your temp gauge will climb but not to operating temperature in 3 mins. It takes me 10-15mins to get to optimum 1temperature and that's without AC. With AC, almost never, unless in hold ups.

Am saying the set up is the same. Its called the "double wishbone suspension" and several if not all Accords use it. Even Toyota use it on heavier cars like Hilux, Prado etc

Technically, a ball joint can fail in any car. In the Accord, IMO the placing of the ball joint above the lower control arm causes more stress to the ball joint, the bolt shaft and the nut. So a thread failure is 10 times more likely to happen leading to k-leg. To prevent it, Honda decided to put a cotter pin to prevent the nut from falling out but for whatever stupid reason, Naija mechanics will remove the pin and throw away leaving Nigerians at the mercy of k-leg.

On an Accord, the weight of the car through the shocks rest on the nut with a safety pin, on a Camry the weight of the car through the shocks rests on the hub. That's why Camry's have more bearing failure but less ball joint failure.

The only thing is that ball joint failure is more catastrophic.

Lastly, do you know that Chinese ball joint doesn't even come with the hole for cotter pin? If you noticed, mechanics will buy new chinko ball joint but will not use the new nut. If the nut is substandard, the ball joint is surely substandard. The Nigerian factor is the reason for failures.

Aunty, as much as I agreed with your comment, i want you to reduce the gravity of the bolded statement.

What I mean is, the fact that a husband is responsible for his nuclear family, it does not remove his responsibility to his extended family. So a man is responsible for both but your comment seems to stress the fact that a man should only care for his nuclear family first which assumes a priority. But no a dying sibling or parents can become first priority ahead of wife and children.

Even the Bible says the man who does not take care of his extended family is worst than an infidel.

All the parties have a relationship in the house, the brother that brought him from the village is responsible for him and his welfare as well as that of every one in the house hold. So lets keep priorities aside and call a spade a spade.

I did something in Kaduna Prison for like 2 weeks now, I have seen different calibers of criminals. The most mind bugling is the "big" woman who is reported to be an oil worker who adopted orphans of community clashes but turn around to turture same orphan. Seeing her, one would not believe the storyline but when the husband showed up to arrange VIP treatment for her, things went through my mind.

Is this husband responsible to his wife even if she has actually commited such heinous atrocity?

The best thing is not to rub this first responsibility on my face, we are only responsible for ourselves and whoever we chose to be responsible to.
