Here is a moment Senator Dino Melaye revealed that he will obey the Bible before obeying the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOKt2lXddzM
A very dumb thing to say.

Romans 13:5-7
5 You must obey the authorities. Then you will not be punished. You must also obey them because you know it is right. 6 That’s also why you pay taxes. The authorities serve God. Ruling takes up all their time. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them. Do you owe taxes? Then pay them. Do you owe anything else to the government? Then pay it. Do you owe respect? Then give it. Do you owe honor? Then show it.

He would have been dealt with in a developed world. The woman has right to choose who handles her vital organs. It is normal. Do u know if she gets turned on via that means? U don't know her body. U can't judge her. The man lacks professional acts. As u can see, it was stated that other staff members know his antics. These doctors have molested women so much bro. I know what I'm saying. The husband should press buttons.
So the Dr does have the right on who to treat and who not to abi?

Is her condition life threatening? If it was then the Dr might be wrong. If she was brought unconscious then he would have the professional responsibility to stabilize then refer her out of his hospital even if its for personal reasons. To treat arrogant person no be by force.

I see no sense in what you typed up there in the second paragraph. She didn't want a male Dr to touch her sensitive part which to me she has no fault and she didn't make any noise due to that. But the deal is the doctor developed grudges towards her which is not her fault. Two weeks after, she went for a treatment for another case entirely and he walked her out. Why? That's very unprofessional. It only shows he is not true to the tenets of the medical profession. He is a bad egg.
A patient has the right to refuse the service of a professional Dr but the Dr has no right to refuse to service a patient who he feels treated him unfairly.

If out of his grudges doesnt think well and gives her a wrong treatment, will she take it kindly with him?

Don't you know the Dr has rights too?

Good that the husband is taking action immediately. The Doctor needs to find another place to work, not in a Government hospital.
You come to the bank to withdraw money and see your neighbor as the teller but refuse his service saying you dont want him to see your account balance. Next time you need to resolve an ATM dispense error you come to the same neighbor for help! I will tell you i am your neighbor and not supposed to help neighbors.

I dont know what the law says on this issue but i assume nothing will happen to the Dr, he is simply not comfortable with a patient that is hostile. The evidence is how they have approached his refusal to threat her. If he gives her injection and the leg swells up, na law suit. If he uses his stethoscope to on her chest, na law suit for sexual harrasment.

That patient only needs a female Dr or a female psychiatrist.

I'd rather buy Xiaomi Mi 9T for 10k less or Mi A3 for 30k less.

My friend who uses the A70 has complained of the fingerprint. He said he got a new update but it became worst. It feels too big with its 6.7inch screen and too heavy.

Thanks Bro. But the Engine is quite expensive.
Yes but compared to its mates, its affordable except for the V6.

The V6 is VCM and has good fuel economy. The VCM technology shuts 1 bank of the engine depending on power needs. Because the VCM is in the 1st generation with the 2008 Accord, it has some problems and mechanics often mess with it leading to more failures.

The 4cyl is more reliable.

The main issue is that in Africa, tradition is sometimes more respected even over the law. Due to complexities of our way of life.

How many of our marriages was sanctioned by courts if not maybe present generation that are
npw doing court marriage.
And how many men do leave will ? Very few. So due to a lot of complexities tradition still has sway.

Marriage in Africa is a very complex issue. It does not just involve just man and woman, but even family members which therefore this gives rise to many complications except the husband through wisdom protects his family from other external forces. But if he doesn't wisely protect his family, then these external forces will come to bear on them peradventure his demise.

A man protecting his family involves, he starting from time to control these external forces which is also a battle on its own, because these factors are his parents, siblings, relatives. And sometimes there is absolutely nothing much he can do. I have seen very wealthy men fight these battles, they set up there brothers, the brothers squander the money and still be claiming right. And because of the society we are in, they can't hurt there blood, it is unresolved.

I am speaking from countless cases like that I have come across. Very complicated issues
Civil marriage is a very simple and uncomplicated thing. Civil law allows everyone to mingle and marry to every race, tradition or religion but race, tradition and religion does not allow every one to mingle freely or get married.

We live in a civilized society therefore we need to marry as civilized people.

A court marriage does not give a couple full rights under a church or tradition.

A church/Mosque marriage will not give thw couple full rights under the civil law or tradition.

A traditional marriage does not give a couple full rights under a church or civil law.

So for a couple to have full marriage rights in our society, it has to be all 3 at the same time.

However, we are fist of all civil members of the society and we are by the Constitution under the civil law whether Christian, Muslim, Traditionalist, Pegan or any sort. Therefore only a court marriage can give anyone such rights that will be recognized by every body and all society law.

Lastly, tradition or traditional marriage in this civilization is meant to serve the interest of the uneducated and old people in the villages who are after their wellbeing. Traditional marriage does not look after the interest of the couple, it is to satisfy the need for entitlement of the uncivilized people. Every item paid or received in a traditional wedding is geared towards the need of the extended family and their need to extract from the couple something to satisfy their stomachs only.

We left horses for cars, aeroplanes, trains etc as civilization has giving us. We embraced education yo better our lives as civilized people. We learned foreign language to communicate and trade as civilized people but what has tradition done, only takes us backward to where we come from. The need to embrace civilization is threatened by a few uncivilized people and their greed.

Anyone here who thinks tradition is something tho behold even if educated is an uncivilized person.

You cannot be educated at the sane time uphold tradition practiced when our great grand fathers held sway. Tradition is one of the main reason of backwards in Nigeria.

djon78:
That was what I was trying to tell female that doesn't know her left from her right. And she was insulting me.
Its a norm in many cultures, if a woman remarries after the death of her husband, she looses rights.
Come oh, tradition has limits oh.

Loses her right? She loses her right to membership or anything position she may be entitled as an extended family member but not her rights in her deceased husband's estate unless there is a will which forbids her any right if she remarries.

It is when she remarries while in custody of the mans estate without a will and not being his next of kin that the court will have to take most of her rights but certainly not all especially if the next of kin is a her child and a minor.

If her husband wills her a house, a car, shares of his company or any other part of his estate, she cannot lose the right when she remarries unless a will specifically says so.

Also if the will says her child is the sole heir to the estate, and being a minor, she is his guardian as the mother, she cannot lose all her rights because she remarried unless the family by a court ruling assume guardianship of the son then she losses most of her rights.

Extended family or tradition cannot cause a woman to lose her rights, it is the law that can do that.

All of you shouting tradition upandan are the reason Nigeria is not moving forward while wickedness and injustice thrives.

When you see tradition as above the law, you are bound to infringe on peoples rights.

Whenever you see someone saying tradition this tradition that, it is meant to cheat or lay claim to what is not his. Tradition is always not fair.

Good day, Honda Lovers.
I intend to upgrade from my present car BMW E46 to a 2008 Accord (evil spirit). I've always wanted to own an EOD due to it's ruggedness and beauty, but I'm presently in love with the 2008 Accord now.

My question is this, is the 2008 Accord as rugged as the EOD, what are the common fault that I'll expect and what the current price of the engine? I also see alot of Nigerian used 2008 Accord for sale on the internet, any reason for this?

Thanks as I await your response.
The major issue with this car is the leather seats.

The engine is kinda expensive at range <300k> and the V6 is quite expensive at range <500k>

The transmission is rock solid (if you stick to recommended oil)

The ground clearance is not great.

It eats brake pads more than normal.

Power steering, never use ATF.

Lastly and more importantly, the usual engine killer on this car is a blocked Catalytic converter (indomie).

Good morning

Please how much bigger is Corner piece from th regular land.

Also, Can a 600 sqm land 1 twin duplex and a 2 bedroom bbq.

Thanks in advance
I believe that a corner piece doesn't always mean a bigger land than a regular one but some features more people desire in an estate.

A corner piece has one less neighbor, more natural light, more fresh airflow, more street parking, more street visibility, more garden area etc the downside is there is no privacy in the compound if the fence is short or no fence estate, more street noise, more gardening cost, and for those countries where you are require to clear ice on walk way, you have more walkway to cover. A hurricane will batter such a house more than any other etc.

The twin duplex will depend on its size.

The difference is the cost of decking relative to the cost of land in the area.

If the cost of decking is more expensive than the same size of land, then 6 number of ground floor mini flats are better. If the cost of decking is cheaper than the cost of land of the same size, then up and down mini flats are better.

So for example, if 100x50 is 5 million, but decking is 3 million, then up and down is better. But if 100x50 is N500k and decking is 3 million, no need for decking. Just buy two plot or three.

You build vertically if land is very expensive and build horizontally if land is cheap.
I totally agree but to add a little more, the decking not only serves as additional land, it also serves as roofing and ceiling of the 3 flats on ground. So, the cost of roofing and ceiling of 3 flats should be added to cost of buying extra land for proper cost comparison.

Using the example you made

So for example, if 100x50 is 5 million plus roofing and ceiling 3 of 6 flats is 1.5m making 6.5 million, but decking is 3 million, then up and down is better. But if 100x50 is N500k plus roofing and ceiling 3 of 6 flats is 1.5m making 2 million and decking is 3 million, no need for decking. Just buy additional plot
On this example, if 100x50 is N1.5m plus roofing and ceiling 3 of 6 flats is 1.5m making 3 million and decking is 3 million, it now cost the same both ways, this will only lead to personal preference. Even at the same cost, you will have minor differences such as more parking area or unbuilt space with the additional land.

I initially approached her during my 300 level first semester last year, though I was not straight forward letting my intentions known to her. Then as we entered second semester same session I shot my shot and she accepted my proposal. Throughout the three months we spent during the session, we only had wonderful romantic moments no sex though which I never demanded from her because I did not want everything to happen too fast despite realizing she keeps numerous guys around.

Fast forward, we entered another session our final year. And my birthday happened to be on the 26th of April, she got excited to celebrate with me and came for the first time to my new lodge. As a nice lover, I served her her favorite food which we ate together then proceeded with our normal romantic gestures till I got to her panties and her mood changed all of a sudden, I still never mind and tried all I could to relax her mind for the act and she resisted and begged me to stop for my good sake.

I got angry and enquired why I should not have my way into her and her response still got me confused till now. She told me that am one of a rare nice guy she has met in her life, that she doesn't deserve me because she is not good in health and would not want to see me suffer like most bad guys she had come across, also that it will be more better for me to just enjoy friendship with her with no sex attached.
Ever since then, my mind has been pondering why she made those statements. Why she considers me nice and not deserving? Or is she giving me those excuses to deny me sex?

Please fellow Nairalanders advise me concerning the situation. Should I quit the relationship with her and move on?
Guy, she has HIV or another deadly STD.

I have had almost exactly the same relationship. Immediately after sec sch, i met this beautiful and fairer that most girls around. We were initially just friends but it was too obvious she had an eye for me so i made it official. Some days later we almost had sex but luckily, my mum came back home from church and interrupted the love session. 2 weeks later my close friends found out i was dating this girl and they all kicked saying she was a bad girl. Every one had story of 1 man or the other, mostly sugar daddies. One of her guys is a confirmed HIV carrier. My next meeting with her, i called it quits, she called me a small boy but i left anyways.

Fast forward 4yrs, i was in the University while she was in a nursing school close to my aunts house. We hanged out together sometime and i discovered she would get picked up by expensive cars most nights and she will apologise. I was wiser so i wanted to cut my cut with proper protection. The girl never allowed me to kiss or have intercourse saying i can have anything on her body except those two. She said am a good guy she doesn't wanna spoil. I told her i am ready for spoiling but she said her mum and my mum know each other very well and she will not do anything bad towards me or my family.

By this time, her rich sugar daddy back home had died of HIV while her health detoriated seriously till she dropped out of school. It was not news that she had HIV.

It dawned on me she didn't want to infect me and was now critically ill. I decided to keep the friendship alive till the end. I would visit her and would spend hours gisting. One day she cried to me in appreciation for being the only person who still visits her on her sick bed, all her friends had abandoned her for fear stigmatization. In the day she died and my mum came home crying and begging me to go for HIV screening and possibly start retroviral drugs since it was gaining popularity then. I told her we were never intimate but even my sister joined in begging me to go for testing, i laughed and assured them.

And yes... My Vinyl wood-like floor was imported from South Korea and they are 100% water friendly. They are far better than wood floor as they don't get dented by high heel or furnitures and are coated with anti scratch surface which also serves as anti slide. Good thing is that,
they can be laid on ceramic tiles and virgin floors as long as the floor is smooth.

Thank you
You are missing the point.

Go to Autos section, if you want to sell a car, you open a thread for that car displaying its pictures and other information. Go to technology market, pretty much the same. The same thing happens on properties, if you want to sell a house or building products, you open a thread. It is allowed once a while to direct traffic to your thread link.

What you are doing is spamming this thread which is not meant for what you are foing and it is annoying. Gone are the days where Nairaland rules were strict, you would have had enough bans to discourage you from spams.

On this thread, i'd rather see your project sites, the installation methods and materials you use. More people with will get interested and ask you questions leading to more patronage.

I wont patronize a spammer even when i need his service.

Polyvinyl chloride commonly known by its abbreviation PVC is a synthetic plastic polymer. It is available two basic forms- rigid and flexible. Polyvinyl chloride is used in many industries especially in construction. Its application in this industry ranges from pipes to doors, windows and flooring. In flooring they come in the form of tiles.

Benefits of PVC Tiles

PVC tiles are commonly used floor finishes. The tiles are made of a composite of PVC and fiber. This produces a very thin and reasonably hard tile. Flexible PVC Flooring is used in homes, offices, schools and hospitals. Here are top five benefits of polyvinyl chloride flooring:

Low cost: The biggest benefit of PVC tiles is that they are inexpensive. They are the most pocket-friendly type of flooring material when compared to other forms such as wood, marble, ceramic, etc. Even luxury polyvinyl flooring is affordable when compared to other materials. When it comes to style and durability, you wouldn’t regret choosing PVC tiles. It is not only an affordable option but the installation cost of PVC tiles is also low. This type of flooring can be put together without incurring professional installation costs.

Easy installation: As mentioned earlier, this type of flooring installation does not require professional help. Firstly, the tiles are very light in weight as compared to the other forms of flooring and can be easily moved around. There are various installation options depending on the vinyl floor you have chosen. DIY experts can install these tiles easily by following the right instructions. However, it is recommended to seek professional help when installing PVC or any other type of flooring. Easy to install PVC tiles let you create beautiful patterns on you floor. Make use of the variety of textures, patterns and designs that come printed on these tiles to enhance the look of your home or office space.

Small size: PVC tiles come in small sizes (150mm, 225mm and 305mm). The benefit of having small sized tiles is that individual tiles can be easily replaced. This means the replacement cost of these tiles is also low.

Ease of maintenance: PVC floors are the easiest to clean. No other type of flooring comes close to PVC when it comes to ease of cleaning. All you need is a damp cloth or mop to clean these tiles. Mostly, these tiles come with various coatings which provide the required protection from stains, moisture and fading. Polyvinyl floors are naturally resistant to scratches and dents unlike hardwood flooring. To keep these floors clean and sparkling just sweep or vacuum regularly.

Anti-static: as we all know, the human body attracts static energy. There are variants of Polyvinyl chloride flooring that are anti-static. anti static flooring made from polyvinyl chloride can keep you and your family safe from static energy. This means that you can easily pass cables below the tiles without worrying about the safety of your family from static current passing from the floor.

Extremely and clearly one sided, but the most shocking thing is that 90% of posters here have already concluded and calling the husband's family all sorts of names.
The truth about this case and all her wild allegations can only be known if she can provide further details, such as:
-She claimed knowing her husband's death only during the burial, several weeks after his death.
For a wife that was not in coma in hospital, you didn't hear from your husband and u didn't bother finding out why he hasn't called to find out how u are doing? She also didn't tell her own relations to tell them she hasn't heard from him?
It's either she is outrightly lying here or her own family members were also aware of d husband's death and both sides agreed to keep the news away from her for her own health concerns, not a unilateral decision taken by d husband's family.
-She also claimed d husband's death was caused by an overdose of a pain killing injection they were both to be given. Is she now saying after the husband was given, she wasn't given same injection?I find it hard to believe that bcoz d husband was still alive then and there is no way she would have known d dosage was too much to decline receiving same.
I believe that she brought up this overdose theory because both of them were given same injection and in order to forcefully rope in the man's sister as d killer, she is using overdose, otherwise she would have simply said d sister killed d brother with a lethal drug.
-She is also claiming she wants the custody of her child, all good and well, without providing reason the family gave for taking the child, asides her own wild theory of they feeling he used her as next of kin.
Even if the speculation is true,it says a lot that a husband would use a then barely year old child as next of kin,not the wife and mother of the child.
What I see here is appeal to emotions that the social media can weep up for people like this to get the child. But I can bet anything her tale of events used in weeping up these distressed and deprived mother sentiments, are not all what they seem.
I hope for her sake this matter doesn't end in court and both sides can come to a mutual understanding and agreement because if it does, the lawyers on the husband's family side will reap her to pieces and put her in more emotional turmoil,if she still comes up with this kind of story.People with far more believable stories have found it distressing facing an opposing child custody lawyer, talkless of one with question marks everywhere.
The part of the child is where i know you are obviously biased.

The family can do all they want but not forcefully taking the child from the mother. Since the mother is alive, it is her right to decided who becomes guardian over her child and not the late husband's family. There is no reason to justify kidnapping a child unless she gave them permission to keep the child.

It sounds like the family paid you to defend them.

No matter the holes in her story, no one has the right to take her child without her consent.

oh

so u r from that side where my other ikorodu friend is from

no wonder u both drive Honda grin

I drive Honda not for the side i come from but because I understand it better. I get pissed at Toyota for things i find easy with Honda.

For example, when my Mums Pontiac refused to start 20 mins after it was parked with low fuel, i bought fuel twice in a gallon but no start. After removing the the fuel pump assembly, it took a weak before i successfully started the car. Even after i found out there was no power to the fuel pump assembly unit, looking for the relay was another task. The interior fuse assembly was in an awkward position. What was Toyota thinking?

From 2003 Honda started using Engine immobilizer but Toyota started with 2007. Honda had courtesy power to power windows in 2003 but when did Toyota start. Remote power windows from 2003 in Honda but camry has nothing. Remote trunk release in Honda 2003 but Toyota. Every body who bought a Toyota after me and even before me has change a Shock absorber at least once but i am yet to. Even when i needed to adjust my engine valve clearance and i saw the Toyota process, I had to spit at Toyota. The Toyota valve lash doesnt often require adjusting but when it does, you will need more expensive parts and labour.

Owning a Toyota is a classic case of penny wise pound foolish. Toyota is technologically cheaper and offers the least. Buying a brand new Honda is more expensive to any same class of Toyota for this reason. Even the constant use of MacPherson suspension system in Corolla against the Double Wishbone suspension in Accord tells you which car is after customer satisfaction.

Lastly, mechanics who prefer Toyota, do so for selfish reasons. Mechanics dont make money in labour as they make it parts. The frequently replaced parts of Toyota are far more expensive than a Honda.

Almost every review i have read comparing Toyota and Honda says Toyota is after reliability and Honda is after user satisfaction.
