skentelelady: Why are you pained Is it because you don't have any inheritance left in your name or you are not recognised as the next of kin? ?? It is his responsibility and the NoK to claim what is right for his family on his father's behalf.
Op please contact the top guys in the bank through email. It happened to someone I know. She was invited by the MD for questioning and her benefits her released ASAP.
It's always the branch managers or account officer that love to play this pranks but once to stand your feet with boldness, you are good to go
If you still didn't get what you want , use social media but I will advise you play smart and act cool
All the best This is the best method honestly. A lawyer will be a total waste of money, instead of lawyer fees, you can sacrifice that fees to the branch manager or account manager of the said bank. They may want higher but just negotiate. Their aim is to frustrate and get you desperate into proposing such a deal yourself because they dont want to approach you for the deal not knowing how you will behave to such corrupt moves. Write the bank MD on his personal or direct email attaching your details. I once wrote an email to postmaster general of NIPOST due to overcharging for receiving international post by their staff which i recorded a spy video of him and our altercation. They refused to help me on Twitter or their official complaint email. When I emailed the PMG I was called by his PA 24hrs later and the staff was almost fired. The staff had to proof that it was an instruction the came from a regional head. They were later sent a circular to effect the correct charges and issue valid receipt. The staff saw me apologized and encouraged me to use their services. My 2 cents are discuss with the bank Manager or acc officer while recording with a spy cam and/or email the MD directly. The reason for and/or is you either settle with the branch or use the video against them to the MD or go to the MD without a video. That Twitter or lawyer thing rarely helps. |

capitalzero: Your argument is flaw. Trailer can run over a car one is even driving. A lot of people own cars and they still use public transport due to various reasons. Accidents do happens. To minimize fatality in any accident, please control the driver or rider(for bike). Few years ago,I had to hit or slap a driver for driving reckless along lagos to ibadan road around 7pm, I reset his brain and he drove carefully till we get to Ibadan. When we alighted from bus, he wanted to fight me but fellow passengers descended on him and I left. Also, I had to call customer care line of God is Good motor on my way to Benin from lagos on one occasion. Driver was driving recklessly, I made the call, few moments later, he received a call from the company and he was calm. She didn't have the opportunity to slap the driver before she died. Maybe you think that the Benue links was parked by the road side that the trailer ran into it. Do not forget that trailers are heavy duty vehicles that cannot move in a fast pace especially in that road. To have a head on with a trailer traveling slow, it will not be rocket science to know who ran into who. Have you seen the other thread that a woman and her 3 children died in the same bus? If you cannot afford to buy a car, my post is not for you. If you own a car and could afford to travel in your own car, drive as carefully as you wish, you wouldn't enter GGM. But some people wouldn't want to waste money. I know a friend who is that stingy to himself. A private car truly doesn't mean one will never have an accident, however, 80% of accidents on the Nigerian roads are due to the driver's carelessness. Unless you are not familiar with Markurdi-Lafia- Akwanga rd. 95% of the accidents happen during over taking because the road has no shoulder and many bends which requires a long patience and a fast car to overtake with short bursts. I served in Lafia and i cannot count the no of times my life was at risk on that road even when I was driving. |

Gistpeeps: Pretty Dr. Patience Tsavnande is one of the casualties recorded in the Benue Links fatal accident that occured yesterday September 15th. Patience was among the passengers in the 18-seater commercial bus that had a headon collission with a trailer in Angwan chiyawa, along Akwanga-Lafia road yesterday. Only one woman survived the accident.
May her soul rest in peace, Amen. Her friends have taken to social media to mourn her.

May she rest in peace but I encourage those who can afford to buy cars to not be stingy on their life. Why should this young promising woman die in the hands of a driver who does not value his life. They say every life is precious to God but to men, some lives are more precious to others. Everytime i think of public transportation and think of the risks and inconvenience, i ask my self, who am i saving the money for? Am using this comment as an advise to those who do not see the need to own a car when they can afford it. |

eamodu: Good morning brothers and sisters. My brother just got a foreign used Honda DC 07. I'm here to help him get recommendations for the best oils to use, inorder 4 him to enjoy the car. Oils like( engine oil, transmission oil, power steering and brake fluid oils types is what I'm inquiring off. Thank you all I don't know his current mileage but if its between 120-150k, i will encourage him to not touch any of the oils except engine oil for a very long while. This assumption is based on the fact that the prescribed maintenance period of these oils is about 100k miles so most of the owners would either sell the car before it to avoid the cost or do it. He will be safer with OEM PS oil, transmission oil and brake fluid than a fake one out here. He should avoid any ATF he sees on the street whether for steering or transmission. |
Politics › Re: Discos’ Collection Efficiency Drops Despite Tariff Hike by adanny01(m): 7:19am On Sep 16, 2019*. Modified: 7:43am On Sep 16, 2019 |
ogododo: The collection efficiency of power distribution companies witnessed a drop in the first quarter of the year despite an increase in the total billing to electricity consumers by the power firms . In the first quarter , the electricity bill to customers by the 11 power distributors rose to N 182. 8 bn , but the Discos only recorded an aggregate collection of N 116. 9 bn , representing 64 . 1 per cent collection efficiency . This indicated a drop when compared to their performance in the fourth quarter of 2018 , as it was gathered that in Q4 of 2018 , the power firms billed customers a total of N 172. 5 bn and collected the sum of N 117. 5 bn , representing 68 . 1 per cent collection efficiency . An analysis of their performances in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the first quarter of this year , based on data obtained from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission on Sunday in Abuja , also showed that the remittances of the Discos to the power market dropped in Q1 2019 . In its 2019 first quarter report , NERC stated that the financial viability of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry was still the most significant challenge threatening the sustainability of the power sector . It noted that as reported in the preceding quarterly reports , the liquidity challenge was partly due to the non - implementation of cost - reflective tariffs , high technical and commercial losses exacerbated by energy theft , and consumers ’ apathy to payments under the widely prevailing practice of estimated billing . The regulator said , “ The total billing to electricity consumers by the 11 Discos rose to N 182. 8 bn in the first quarter of 2019 but only an aggregate collection of N 116. 9 bn , representing 64 . 1 per cent collection efficiency was achieved , a 4 . 1 percentage points decrease from the last quarter of 2018 . “ The level of collection efficiency during the quarter under review indicates that a sum of N 3 . 6 out of every N 10 worth of energy sold during the first quarter of 2019 remains uncollected as and when due . ” The commission explained that the severity of the liquidity challenge in NESI was further reflected in the settlement rate of energy invoices issued by the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company and the Market Operator to Discos , as well as the payment by special and international customers. It said , “ During the first quarter of 2019 , the 11 Discos were issued a total invoice of N 190. 1 bn for energy received from NBET and for service charge by the MO , but only a sum of N 52 . 8 bn ( approximately 28 per cent ) of the total invoice was settled , indicating a significant deficit of N 137. 3 bn . “ Whereas the collection efficiency ranges from 40 per cent ( Kaduna Disco) to 84 per cent ( Ikeja Disco) , remittance performance ranges from 10 per cent ( Jos Disco) to 43 per cent ( Ikeja Disco) . ”
https://punchng.com/discos-collection-efficiency-drops-despite-tariff-hike/ With this analysis, power cannot improve in this country. The rot in the system is just too much. Energy theft is the no 1 problem while the continued existence of post paid billing albeit estimated billing remains the encouraging factor of energy theft. Seeing the collection efficiency of Kaduna at 40%, I am not surprised. Kaduna is the disco with the lowest prepaid meter enforcement. Prepaid meter eliminates a lot of issues. Staff corruption were bill ends up unremitted, staff aid energy theft by protecting their favourite consumers, over estimating bills leading to consumer apathy etc. Last year the transformer in my area got burnt and we spent over 4months without electricity before the LG replaced it with a new one. We still contributed over 500k for that job but a year later we are now 3 months without electricity again. Our transformer that was still under warranty got burnt again and has not been resolved. Consumers buy transformer, buy poles, buy meter and pay the disco staff for every single installation. Why would they progress? |

Charles1888: I had to create a new account for this
I don't know how to get through to my wife anymore, of which the fault is mine, when we were dating, she showed that she was committed to me and loved me wholeheartedly but I was reluctant to marry her cos she was of age, I wanted someone younger, say under 25, but something important that i have to acquire made me marry all of a sudden and she was the only one available, don't get me wrong, I loved her then, her peaceful and humble soul but for some reason I simply can't understand I felt she wasn't enough, but I was wrong, she was perfect, the best I can ever wish for and more, she is everything,
After we got married, you know newlyweds now, the quarrels about every little thing, it was much then, so this particular incident made me so worked up and angry I made a statement I shouldnt have said, during the heated argument I told her that she was never who I would have married, that she wasn't my specs, she was too old (31 lol) that if someone younger was available I wouldn't blink twice before I'll marry the person.
After saying all that, I wasn't sober about it, she held on to that statement, I knew she cried that night, since then we don't talk, play, gist anymore, we became distant, though I apologised the next morning but things isn't just the same anymore, communication isn't there, she only talks to me when she wants to ask or say necessary things, nothing more, though she still cooks, we still have sex, infact every other aspect is fine except for communication, anytime I come back from work and I'm in the sitting room, she doesn't stay there, she either goes to the room or dinning room, I have begged and begged and I don't want to involve third party cos I obviously caused this, when she got pregnant, she didn't tell me till I saw the strip, when I asked why she said she forgot, and we had plans to celebrate when she takes in, I was sad that day, I begged and asked to tell me anything she wants and I'll do it, I'll make it up to her,,she said she wants nothing that she is fine, I love her, she is my baby, we use to be gist buddies, I missed that and I want it back.
I don't know what to do anymore, it's my fault I know that and I'm sorry I ever said that cos it hurt her deeply, I told her to tell me more evil things so that we will be even, she said she can't that she loves me, we are drifting apart, I can feel it,
Pls help me folks, I came here becos I want anonymous advise, what else can I do to make the hurt go away? Let me advise you. Please move on from that fight and stop blaming yourself. Focus on making her happy and being the best married couple in town while being the best husband any woman can have. You've hurt her yes, you've apologized yes, she has forgiven you yes, but she has not forgotten. What is left is to make her forget by making her smile and laugh again. |

TRIGITIS: Oga, by Short Service, you mean their stay in the military will be for short period, and I have told you already that they get converted to have same status as their NDA trained counterparts.
Again, when you say holding command, short service officers are holding commands in the army very well. Some of them are given the command of battalions and even higher.
When you talk about professional, I think you are getting it very wrong. Check their requirements when they advertise for recruitment, it cuts across almost all courses studied in the universities.
I also know they are taken into all the corps of the army such as infantry, armour, these are the ones I know. I was informed when I bought short service form that the highest a short service officer will ever get in the Nigerian military is the equivalent of Major General. In fact, 50% of short service cadet will retire as Colonels, 30% as Lt. Colonels, 10% as Majors and only less that 5% would reach their limit which is Major General while the rest will go down one way or another. As an analogy, a graduate of B.A English Language will never be promoted to the full rank of a Director or Education in my state Ministry of Education despite his graduate status and will be limited to the rank of Deputy Director of Education. To reach that highest rank, he must have a B.Ed English or English language Education, NCE, PGDE or any other relevant qualification that makes him qualified to be registered by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. This is obtainable in so many professional disciplines so i wouldn't be surprised if a graduate in the US Navy will be so limited. |

asdfjklhaha: Husbands please will you be happy with your wife,if you discover she is saving from the house keep money? Please give reasons.
I went to spend sometime with my elder sister along with my mum cos she just delivered. And recently her husband was quarreling with her it got so serious that mumsy had to intervene. after everything died down, I asked mumsy what happened she said the man was very angry because his wife which is my sister has been saving money from the upkeep money he's been given to her.
that if she had any left overs she should have told him so he'll add it to the next money he'll give and spend less. he said she's selfish and inconsiderate.
for me I don't see any big deal in it cos as a woman a nursing mother she should have some cash in hand.
please what are your views Yeah, there is something wrong with that. It just brings distrust. I have experienced this first hand, even though her savings became my bailout several times, her actions was just taking from my own savings and putting in her personal savings. In my case, my spending habit is totally different to my wife's. Her estimates always end up in a deficit while thinking she has surplus. After giving her monthly stipends, we would be short on groceries before month end which i will bail out from my savings while she was saving. The real question is, if your sister truly has surplus from what her husband is giving her, when she declares it or plugs one of his responsibilities, such as, TV bills, Electricity bills, house maintenance or any of the sort women usually leave to men directly, he will appreciate it better than hiding it. If he spends less a home, he will embark on capital projects. Besides, a man loves a woman who says she has enough and trust him to invest what he has or save for the family. |

I could tell you how to do it yourself (note that we have done the calculations on this thread as recent as this year). You could get what you want by going over this thread, you wouldn't go far since this year's part of the thread contains what you need to know to DIY. In summary, add the total perimeter of the block work and get the area by multiplying by the building height, less the total area by the area of windows, doors and other openings to get the net wall area. Divide the net wall area by the area of 1 block and voila you have what you need. Hope it helps. |

A second hand 2019 Rav4 will buy a brand new 2019 CRV.... It just boils down to how much money one has! Am sure you'll go 4 d Rav4 if money wasnt a problem. Quite frankly, the CRV is slightly more expensive to the Rav4 in the US but i wonder why the CRV is N9m cheaper in Nigeria. Secondly, even though this Rav4 has had a complete redesign, even has 13hp more than the CRV and its Hybrid is always better than any Honda anyday anytime, the CRV is in general a better car (US reviews) and in 2018 the CRV sold more than even the Accord in the US. Hell, the CRV even has better fuel economy than the Rav4. For that price of N15.5m, CRV has the best value in the entire Op's list. |

Enyimbamercedes: A while back, my key for a 2012 Honda Crosstour was misplaced when the driver left it on the Bonnet of another vehicle which drove off with it.
At the time I couldn’t find the spare so I went to The Honda Place in Abuja for a replacement and they gave a bill of nearly 500k for 2 new key, reprogramming and replacement of key cylinders.
I eventually found a spare key ( a valet key though) so it had no keyless entry and cannot open my glove box but at least the car is drivable but very inconvenient walking up to the door to open it.
So I go back to Honda place and they insist they have to still insist the quotation is the same even though I now have a key which they can cut from.
Please is there anyone who provides key cutting and reprogramming. I went to Gudu and they said the car is not American spec so the conventional method of reprogramming doesn’t work. Thank you I am shocked they charged you 500k and will not drop their quote even when you have a valet key. My take is that programing another key or the keyless entry isnt a big deal. The big deal is cutting a master key when you only have a valet key. You can easily buy a replacement key and fob for less than 2k on Aliexpress or Amazon and have it programmed but to cut a missing master is what I think you need professional help. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Bible Does Not Support Drinking Alcohol, Don't Let Anyone Fool You by adanny01(m): 9:37pm On Sep 10, 2019 |
executive12: From a little research, and www.crosswalk.com has these 6 things to say about the Bible on Alcoholic drinks:
1. The Bible allows Christians to drink for medical reasons: 1 Timothy 5:23
Note that most liquid medicines contain alcohol.
2. The Bible sometimes portrays alcohol as something good and enjoyable: John 2:3-11, Psalm 104 makes reference to "wine that gladdens the heart of man".
3. The Bible forbids drunkenness: Ephesians 5:6, Romans 13:13, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Peter 4:3.
4. The Bible forbids drinking if it offends fellow believers: Romans 14: 15-21, 1 Corinthians 8.
5. The Bible forbids drinking is it hinders the gospel: 1 Corinthians 9:19-23.
6. The Bible warns that drinking is often dangerous and unwise: Proverbs 31:4-5, Proverbs 23:31.
The takeaway: The Bible does not forbid Christians from drinking. However, it forbids them from getting drunk and warns them of how easy it is to lose control after drinking alcoholic drinks. So, in effect, the Bible weighs more on the side of completely staying away from alcoholic drinks to avoid losing control and then falling into sin. It is clear, from the Bible verses, that drinking is not a sin. If you have strong self control, you can enjoy some alcoholic beverages; otherwise, stay away from them to avoid stories.
PS: A wine is an alcoholic beverage, not a fruit juice. Our Lord Jesus Christ turned water into wine, not into fruit juice. AL Baghdadi take note. Don't get confused by some clever crooked importers who bring in sparkling fruit drinks (eg Eva 'wine') and slap 'wine' on the carton. They are not wines. They are fruit drinks (not even juice). No mine that guy, he is just too dumb thinking all of us are as gullible as he is. |

alBHAGDADI: Stop quoting wrong translation. The Bible didn't say too much wine. It simply says not to drink wine.
1 Timothy 3:2-3 (KJV) 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
Stay away from all these other Bible versions, they will lead you to hell. Stick with the King James Version. Read link below to see why.

csiworksnig: Someone asked how he can protect his house from people jumping in after doing fence.. It cracked me up seriosly
Someone replied him on this thread, said prayer and hope.
A small story below for that person
My next house neighbour travelled for five days last week with his family. So on Friday, someone told us birds are flying to his plantain three at d back , that maybe the plantation is ripe, that we should call him so he can send someone down to cut it, although we had his gate extra key but he was due back the next day so we did not bother to check or call him. Next day my neighbor came back so we asked him to go and check the plantain at d back, and behold , a whole bunch of plantain was missing on the tree, someone entered and cut it off, this is a house with tall fence and barb wires oooo and my street is already populated , houses everywhere.. I was so alarmed, like how can someone jump the fence to steal plantain .
So for the person who asked that question , how he can protect his house .. Its same reply, pray and hope for the lords divine security. If he had electric fence, I bet you, no one will jump that fence. |
