rugged enough to last
maintenance no go cut my neck
and most especially e no go chop fuel.

Please tell me which of these meet the criteria. PLUS my budget is below 800k

Honda Civic 2004 - 2006
Honda Accord 2008
Nissan Altima 2008
Hyundai Sonata 2008
Volkswagen Passat 2009
Chevrolet Aveo 2008

Truth is I actually need a car not just for leisure but for hustle as well (maybe uber)

Romance › Re: How Do I Get My Cheating Ex-Girlfriend Off My Mind? by adanny01(m): 12:47am On Aug 14, 2019
blizard44:
Hello , Nairalanders.

I recently called off a two-year relationship with my Ex Girlfriend.

I found out she was cheating on me with two other guys and decided to walk away.

But the thing is that I can't stop thinking about her.
I can't eat, work or do anything without memories of the times we shared together hanging over my eyelids.

I felt that the depression and pain that suffused me after I told her it was over was hinged on the fact that she was my first love - and would go away with time, but I was wrong.
I think of her now more than I ever remember doing.
I'm afraid the feelings heightens everyday.
And this is made worse by the fact that we're colleagues.
We see each other everyday.
And concerns for her, I found out, still manage to hide behind my ribs.

I'm not thinking of going back to her.
It's not an option.
That to me now, is like dining with my archenemies blindfolded.

I feel like I don't know her .
I never knew her!

At least, I never knew she could tell heavy lies with our eyes locked.

I need help redeeming myself from her.
I want to see her for who she really is.
And I want to go back to the life I led before her.

I need help getting her out of my head.

Tell me how you survived breakups.

P.S
I want to read your comments.
Replying the title, just go on a f.ckong spree.

Finaly i decided to create an account

What's up Nairaland, Please Pardon my English.

So me and my man been married for a year now but here's the thing he does that pisses me OFF!!! TOTALLY!!!! ehn, every time I cook rice and stew (fried stew/fish/meat) he'd ask me to go outside the estate to go and buy Ewa(beans) (I'm using Ewa because that's how he pronounces it. So I noticed this earlier and I started Cooking beans anytime I cook rice. He'll still request for 'Ewa' the Mama put beans made and sold by the roadside

While we dated he'd even ask me to cook for himself and his friends and if my cooking was bad, I'd have gotten feedback somehow.. how can I serve food and he'll ask me to go get 'Ewa' at Shangisha Outside Magodo Gra to mix his rice even when we have visitors he will send me a whatsapp message to still go get Ewa most times he'll even book uber if i tell him I'm too tired to drive I'm tired of going to buy Ewa!!

How do i get to know what the problem is, because it's definitely not my cooking, 2 of my office buddies they don't buy lunch because i bring enough food for 3 of us everyday and they'd have stopped eating it if it was bad
Pls dont mind the -ve comments especially NwaAmaikpe. grin

I am married and i like wedding rice. My wife cooks that kind of rice and it comes out far better than most wedding rice but she can not replicate the flavours or add the occasion to the rice to make it wedding rice.

The mai shayi tea.also has its own flavours you will try to replicate without success.

My wife loves moi moi but I purge every time i take it at home. I eat the one in my parents house or a particular restaurant i desire without issues.

It may or may not be your cooking, the best thing is to ask him why he prefers that particular ewa than yours. Communication is key.

dapo456:
It was Etihad , lagos to india, i missed my flight, and i was rescheduled to tomorrow flight, the lady wrote a penalty of 75k on my print out which i know its not official, please someone in the house who is experience should help me, i don't have such amount of money , i have logged on there sight and confirmed that i'm scheduled for tomorrow flight.

I booked the ticket by myself online with my master card and i believe if there's any extra charges , i should also pay it by myself online. The lady said i should bring the 75k tomorrow on my travel date.

Please kindly move to front page if possible, i need urgent advice from experienced people, i've contacted ethihad but since the call was picked by nigerians , i still smell pre-intimacy. please help me. i attached a picture of an image which seams like what i could have paid if there's any charges , which is 75dolars or i have already paid charges for extension incase i missed the flight. please check the image

Reason why i missed the flight: The first flight i booked showed September 18th, 1:30pm, i was so sad because this will not meet up with my course and i will have to book another one. Not knowing that the date was an error from there end and i wasn't charged at all, i almost cried for about 1hour while i was waiting for gtb to charge me, But when they didn't charge me, that was when i realized it was an error from their end so i rebooked it, now the date was okay (august 12th, 2019) but i never bother to checked the time again , forgetting that the date and time changed, i've been telling my self my flight was 1:30, I EVEN SLEPT AROUND 9 TILL 10, i live at ojodu berger, so i could be at ikeja airport by 11am which i did. Note: No village people is involved, It will had to my experience i live i know. so just give me your honest advice not village things.
No show fee is not the same as the change of date fee you paid for if am correct.

The one you paid allows you change your date before the flight date subject to seat availability.

The no show fee should have been included in the economy flex or flexible ticket.

I think you will have to pay.

Thanks.
I broke my Upper left canine while opening a bottle of coke.

Some years later the tooth became temp sensitive and was filled. About 2 yrs + later the tooth started sensitivity and changed colour. I was told it was infected and was going to decay. The dentist advised and did a procedure called RCT. So far, the tooth is still good and no issues.

This is not to disrespect Messi whom I see as a naturally talented and gifted footballer.

bros, by now you should have known that there are some people in this section you should not even bother doing arguments, they are a bunch of loud talking empty headed people always trying to force their opinion on others

we all know which cars are reliable and which cars are not

we all know which cars we will choose if we were stranded in the desert with only fuel and we had to choose a car to cross

so please dont give yourself headache
You guys talk about reliability as if it is the only parameter of rating a car. What about performance, comfortability, safety, price etc.

What's good in a person who is good in math but terrible in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography etc?

What's good in a woman who can f_ck well, but cannot cook, clean, dress or is as dull as an im.becile?

Reliability is not the only parameter to rate a car. Just because Corolla carries 1st position in reliability, failing performance, safety, comfort etc can make a very unreliable car the best relatively.

When looking for a wife, beauty is not all? When looking for a car reliability is not all. When looking for a president, integrity is not all! Isn't that the reason we voted Buhari? See where we are.

If you drive your reliable Corolla and you cannot catch up to me in a race, how can reliability make up for it. If I drive 200miles with 3k fuel and your corolla stops on the way, how will reliability help you?

If you want to eat rice and i give you raw rice with no condiments, fire or water, what have i done?

I have put in so many analogies so you can understand, i really hope you do.

Toyota tops reliability scales but certainly not the best car brand.

I went thy way...never voted ...well the lord is our strenght. I need to clear you on something....buhari's two election was seriously rigged ....
Thats one propaganda i never believed and strongly oppose.

2015 and 2019 my entire group of friends didn't believe me when i repeatedly told them APC will win, they didn't believe.

It is my belief that the last totally rigged presidential election was 2007, after then, it kept improving. Even though not perfect, rigging has been considerably reduced such that an entire election cannot be said to be rigged compared to how it was in 2007. The votes which would have amounted to rigging are the ones cancelled thats why we have far more cancelled votes than before. If you look at the voter turnout since 1999, you will know which elections were seriously rigged.
1999 - 50%
2003 - 70%
2007 - 70%
2011 - 53%
2015 - 43%
2019 - 35%
Gone are the days where remaining ballot paper was shared to highest bidder or ballot boxes were stuffed by the toughest thugs or simply writing bogus results. The menace of rigging we used to know during PDP is gone. I am not saying malpractice is eliminated (Kano is a clear case) but the kind of rigging we knew is impossible and has drastically dropped to the extent an entire election cannot be said to be rigged.

Saying the last election was rigged is either a propaganda or outright denial of the plain truth due to the believe that it was impossible for Buhari to win with his abissmal performance like my friends believed. One of my friends would say, "I cant believe Buhari won, it must have been rigged". This particular guy voted for the 1st time this 2019, he voted only because he so much wanted Buhari out.

Are you a stranger to the Nigerian political space? Nigeria is effectively a 2 party state. There is the ruling party and the opposition. All the others are either opportunist or seeking for relevance to later launch in the main parties or seek for a political crumbs.

Not more than 2 parties can afford to build the kind of political structure needed to emerge as ruling party in Nigeria. If a third party is to spend even half of what the 2 main parties will spend, our economy will always go in recession after every election.

You who has put the question forward am sure voted either the opposition, am I not better to have even declined to vote and chosen to take an adhoc responsibility knowing fully well both were not my 1st or 2nd choice.

kidap:
A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called on Nigerians, particularly those who worked against the re-election and sabotaged the former President Goodluck Jonathan to publicly tender an apology if the country must move forward.

Frank said unless Nigerians prefer to continue in pretence, the era of former President Jonathan managed well the challenge of insecurity compared to what the country has now.

In a statement Timi Frank released to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, called on religious leaders, traditional rulers and all Nigerians who directly or indirectly worked against Jonathan's government to ask for forgiveness before it is too late.

Frank acknowledged that there were things Jonathan's government should have done better but in all Nigerians made a wrong choice of electing the current administration.

"I call on Nigerians that we should beg former President Goodluck Jonathan for wrongly voted him out and sabotaged his government. I must confess that as an APC figure in 2015, we fabricated many lies against Jonathan, though I have publicly apologised to him but other Nigerians, especially the pastors, Imams, traditional rulers and other opinion leaders should beg for forgiveness too.

"It is obvious now that insecurity in our Nation has gone out of hand. The challenge was limited to a zone under Goodluck Jonathan but presently no state, including General Buhari's home state is secured.

"Under Jonathan, Fulani herdsmen were using stick but they now carry AK 47. Under Jonathan, lives of Nigerians were more important despite the challenges but under Buhari, cows are more important than lives.

"There was democracy and rule of law under Jonathan but its now rule of force and impunity. Under Jonathan, National Assembly were active and working but its now a rubber stamp.

"Under Jonathan, Nigerians abroad were relocating back home but under Buhari Nigerians are running away. Under Jonathan Nigerians are respected all over the world but that has since gone under Buhari.

"Under Jonathan Nigerians were crying in tears but now Nigerians are crying in blood

"Under Jonathan, there was freedom of speech but that has long gone under the APC administration.

"Under Jonathan, poverty, hunger and unemployment were not as bad as it is today. Under Jonathan Nigeria was a unitedunited Nation but sentiments have taken over now.

"As it is now, all the institutions of government that were working well under Jonathan have all been blackmailed and politicised.

"So, I call on others who betrayed Jonathan to come out publicly and apologise to him. I also use this opportunity to appeal to former President Jonathan to forgive Nigerians and bless the Nation against the evils that have pervaded the land."

Frank said Nigerians should ask the APC administration what happened to the $1 Billion ECA money removed to fight insecurity in Nigeria.

He called on Nigerians to support a peaceful revolution to take back Nigeria to the good old days from the hands "evil men in power."

Signed
Comrade Timi Frank
Political activist
Abuja.

Good morning good people of Nairaland. please don't mind my grammatical errors coz I'm not that good.

I'm 28yrs, working and I had a gf of 21yrs. we are very good together and I love her so much. we started dating a year ago and I told her what can make me breakup with her which is cheating. she swear never to cheat on me coz she loves me. (she's a virgin when I met her).

But after 6months of dating, I suspect she's still attached to her ex.. they are very close. I warned her but she said she'll rather break up with me than to cheat. she swear never to do that. I accepted but I keep watching and been sensitive.

Fast-forward to last month, I checked her fone for the 1st time. she don't expect it. I notice she's eager to get her fone back but I don't care. I checked and I notice she and her ex are having romantic affairs (no sex though) ..

I confronted her but ever since den she kept begging. her friends keep begging.

I'm a type that if u cheat on me, no matter how much I love u, d love will dropped totally. one of my ex did same, despite our relationship is 4 years, I broke up with her.

She's so afraid and keep saying she can't leave me Coz I'm d one that disvirgin her, but I wish to leave.

She said she never mean to do all those bull'shit with her ex, but I let her know that she still have feelings for him.

Each time I remember, I felt hurt and wish to quit. whenever she come to my place, she'll beg from morning till evening but that doesn't move me.

Please good people of Nairaland. what can I do?
if you're on my shoe, what will be ur judgment.
I've never accept cheat with any of my ex but this particular girl keep apologizing.
Are you even totally sure you deflowered her?

I bet you, it will be easier to find a sound EOD or the Civic at a specific budget than the Camry.

With the Hondas, you will have a sea of cars to choose from and if you choose well, you will not regret. The camry is older and less available in the market. If you go for the camry, you are more likely to get a lemon for even a higher price due to the "Toyota mindset".

Forget about the leg pull, it only happens to people who think throwing money at the car will prevent it. Yes, Honda is not made for everyone, if you choose it, you have to abide by it to really enjoy it. If you know you dont like visiting the workshop for any slight unfamiliar noise, pls buy your Camry jeje.

A very bright morning to professionals in the house. Please I will be grateful if I can get a realistic quotation for plastering a 4 bedroom bungalow and a 1 bedroom BQ. Finer details of property are;
4 bedrooms, each bedroom with its toilet/bath (together)

A study room (not up to the size of a bedroom though)

A waiting area

Living room

Kitchen and store.

The BQ is made up of the sitting room, 1 bedroom, kitchen, toilet/bath (together).

In addition to the cost of plastering, I will appreciate if I can get a realistic time frame for plastering a property like this, paying attention to fine details.

The site is located around atan area of Ogun state.

Thank you.
We have done this quote several times. Check the previous page you will see something. All 4 bedroom flats are not the same size so you dont expect anyone here to give you a quote. There are posts that can help you know if a quote is bogus or not and how to bargain an acceptable quote. Pls do the research, use the search bar to reduce the amount of pages you will have to go through.

How exactly is that structure an explosive. I can see the support structure standing strong with a very negligible load on it. I can see gas welding pipes and that the steel structure had to be welded to cut it. If it were not good steel a simple hack saw would do the job. From what i see, there was no need to remove that structure, it was removed not because it was failing but the government of the day and the people chose not to see it.

Enyimbamercedes:
So maybe they would have included in his brief that the bridge would double as a selfie platform. His static design calculation may have been for maximum 10 people and not 30. Why over design? A bridge is a crossing and should ideally have constantly moving load and not what happened.

This isn’t to absolve the engineer but we have the benefit of hindsight to say he should have been able to predict but you can never predict human behavior. There is a Murphy’s law that states if they are many ways to do something and one way would lead to a disaster, some one will do it
Why 10? Is 10 the maximum number of people the bridge platform can contain? How did you arrive at 10? As long as there is space to accommodate 50 people, the bridge should have designed to carry 50.

3rd mainland brigde should have collapse by now if what you are saying was applied to its design. A bridge is primarily designed for live loads aka dynamic loads, with the hold ups on 3rd mainland taking the entire bridge, the designer could not have predicted static load of hold up cars among the dead load of the bridge. But the bridge is standing strong. Ask yourself why its still standing?

If you look at that collapse bridge what do you see?

I will tell you what i see.

I see a combination of 2 things that caused the failure and both were not estimated to happen at the same time.

1. Number of people on the bridge
2. The force of the flood current

The bridge would not have collapsed if there was no such current and people on top of it at the same time. On a good day, with no such current, the brigde would not have collapse with that many people on it. The bridge collapsed towards the downstream, it means the water assisted in pushing the bridge till it collapsed. A steel structure like this is expected to sway but recover, recovery is impossible with such current if not calculated in design.

Depends on the design criteria! They probably never expected 30 people would ever be stationary on the bridge. It’s called static load. If they keep moving, it probably would not collapse but them staying stationary on the bridge at once.

The engineer never thought a scenario would play out that 30 students would be so captivated with a flood and all stand on the bridge at one... I’m sure if he did he would have over-designed it to hold 50...
The responsibility of a structural engineer is to predict forces on a structure. He is fully responsible for predicting dynamic and static loads on a bridge. He had no excuse not to estimate static loads on this bridge so he failed. The school needs to take responsibility or pick the scape goat who is the engineer not blame the victims. That's an insult to common sense.

I bet you, the Civil Engineering dept was never consulted on that structure let alone been designed by a qualified engr for that matter.

The VC knows that every responsibility will fall at his table so he is diverting attention from himself.
