Wonderful thread you have here.... I raised boilers and layers chicks from day old some time last year January with the intention of selling the boilers by Easter that year. It was all gloomy until I got to the market and realized that buyers preference was centered around affordability. They instead prefer to buy old layers for N1,500 instead of buying almost 4 months old boilers for N3,000. I learnt the very hard lesson to always consider affordability first before venturing into any business. I got some Noilers birds too and o must confess they were allot easier to rare compared to boilers. And I also must state that my female Noiler is a champion in laying eggs compared to the layers. She lays twice a day back then and despite being a free ranger. Although I always have layers marsh ready for her but she trouts the compound to scavenge for other food too. I made losses from the venture bcuz I was forced to sell the birds off for way lesser than my investment. |
bluefilm:Yes! Low mortality but highly contagious... remember to add that. The essence of the lockdown is to actually slower the pace of the spread to buy some time for the medical front liners so they don't get overwhelmed.... If Lagos alone should record 1M plus cases, do you think our medical practitioners won't run away? |
Rich4god:Let's say they're allowed to go out to source for food and in the process they got all the amount of food they need in abundance and also contracted the virus. Will food matter more to a dying man than regaining his health? I pray you guys get a rethink sha. It's true we don't cherish what we have until we loose it and that's applicable here. You're heal and hearty that's why you could come out to tell the world that you're hungry, takeaway the good health you're enjoying now and see if food will matter to you anymore... Yes food is an integral part of life but when it comes to choosing between food and health, I hope you'll choose wisely. |
Adakintroy2:Nice one. Science! science!! science!!! I tell people who care to hear that they're 2 broad branch of science. Progressive science and destructive one. Both are sciences but with widening difference. Lemme put it into perspective here. Nuclear plants can be used to generate electricity and the same plant can be turned into a nuclear weapon plant. Reason why US is seriously against Iran nuclear plan. The first person who came up with weapon of masses destruction felt he was doing the world some good but it turned out to be used in several genocides recorded all over the world. The list is endless. My prayer is for mother nature to take care of any ungodly plan against humanity. These guys are commiting too much against humanity |
Iamundisputed:As much I wanna agree with you that there's a widening gap between ordinary people and great people, I implore you to do some internet research regarding the precision with which Dr. Fauci and Bill Gate talked about an outbreak of a virus some years back. These 2 even used the name CoronaVirus at different locations and briefings some 6 or so years before this global pandemic. You might wanna say it's a conspiracy theory but then again, these guys are the leaders of pharmaceuticals who understands the concept of creating a disease and selling the cure/drugs to people. Have you been following the new NCDC bill that is currently under scrutiny in Nigeria? Americans are not like the common Nigerians or Africans that swallow any shit they're fed. These people have individual fact finding groups going round the country and comparing data with that of their Center for Disease Control. Doctors and nurses are being laid off in some hospitals in the US bcuz there's no patients and Donald Trump have started giving out their ventilators to other countries. Is it also a conspiracy that Trump is giving out their ventilators even when report is showing US as the worst hit by COVID-19? Bros, truly the virus is real but there's an agenda bigger than the common man's comprehension about this CoronaVirus thing. |
Lostz:We need our immune system to be firing on all cylinders in a period like this... So doing away with fruits might not be in our best interest. Just adhere to strict hygiene and treat all food items like a potential CoronaVirus carrier. Wash with either hot water or soup and water depending on the food. God will see us through |
Lostz:If people are sensitized on how to handle their food stuffs in a period like this, there's nothing that will happen. Before you eat anything, wash with either soap and water (fruits) or very hot water (grains) depending on the type of food. Then ensure you treat any food item as a COVID-19 patient. My only fear is that they don't start injecting the virus into their livestock bcuz that one go badt gan ooo |
nsiba:Don't drag some people along with you. If you reside in Lagos,I can direct you to where isolation centre is so you can go close to the place to see for yourself. Abba Kyari's family will wish it's all an illusion bcuz they, more than anyone else wish it's all scam but baba Kyari is gone for forever. My wish is that you don't get to experience it before you believe as it'll definitely be too late. |
guru90:Do you mean more populated in terms of illiterates? I agree they have more illiterates than Lagos but for human counts, Bros it's contestable. Have you actually gone round Lagos State to see for yourself and have you gone round Kano too? Simple question to ask you. How many Lagosians reside in Kano and how many Kano indigenes reside in Lagos? I understand that might not be the yardstick to judge but I'm privileged to have toured most parts of the 2 states. Only if we can have a true population sensor but our northern brothers won't want that for political reasons. |
ucham:I won't lie to you sha, sometimes I also feel the frustration bcuz I know how much these people are dragging the country backward with nepotism. But the bitter truth is that they're only taking advantage of our collective mumuism and porous constitution. Imagine a constitution that allows an SSCE holder to be president while the vice is a Prof and a SAN. That alone encapsulates our heroic stupidity. We practice democracy of numbers and we're all aware that it's the almajiris that will decide who wins or loses an election. Not until those standards are checked, we will continue until God knows when. The fight against COVID-19 is actually beyond tribes or race. It's a collective war against humanity and we should be ready to throw in all our arsenals at it even if it means treating a BH member. Else, he might infect an innocentee who will then kickstart another strain of the virus. #NaijaWillPrevail |
ucham:Bros don vex finish... Na so you hate aboki reach! Oya no vex. Nbok |
RTSC:Without hiding exactly how you felt upon hearing that, what were the first set of thoughts that ran through your mind? Funny tales |
YorubaPrince:But if the current situation goes south here in Nigeria, you won't think twice before you write the embassy that you're trapped in Nigeria. As if Nigeria is an entrapment sort of, I envy people with dual citizenship sha... COVID-19 is a typical scenario that makes being a dual citizenship a big accomplishment. |
Whoever drafted those guidelines has his head on his neck. Top-notch stuff. My prayers is that enforcement and compliance will not flaw the directives. It's A grade. My catch, those over 65 and those with underlying health concerns should remain indoor. I pray this group of people listens and understand the importance of this. |
ceejeck:Thank you for airing this view. I have also been following the reports with some sigh of relief and only wish our people can persevere a bit longer. Just another 2 to 3 weeks might get Lagos State figures down to single digits but this ease of lockdown will only aggravate or escalate things bcuz we all know so many will go about their business as if we've been satisfied COVID-19 free. Hunger that can save us allot of condolences is far better than the obvious otherwise. What makes this ease of lockdown so bad now is that there's already inter-communal spread and asking people to get back to their normal life amidst this fact might be catastrophic. If you can afford to be indoor as from Monday, please stay put and never loose guards bcuz the chances of contracting the virus just got higher as from 4th of May. #TakeResponsibility |
oyeb15:Whether fraud or not, I hope you know that the virus is real and it is viral, and there's inter-communal spread already. Before you come on air to say things like this, always consider those who will read your comments as thou it's scriptural. So many people still take whatever they read online as 100% factual and you might have lured someone into believing COVID-19 is all scam. After 68 confirmed deaths and so many unrecorded ones, you still hold the believe that the government is playing politics. Wake up and smell the coffee menh... Those who will survive COVID-19 would be those who have made a deliberate resolution to be a survivor and have God's favor on their side. #TakeResponsibility |
xcabczyxabczzzz:True it's not a death sentence but seeing 68 deaths on records, you should be asking yourself what about the ones that died without being tested or recorded? Are dead any deserving of it? What assurance do you have that there won't be anymore death as the lockdown eases up? Well, I'm not here to spread fear but the truth is that Nigeria cannot handle a full blown COVID-19 pandemic and the earlier we realize this, the more cautious we are as citizens and the better for us all. Always remember that when push comes to shove in Nigeria, the elites and richest will get treated first before any 100 get tested least you talk of being treated. |
Wow... Such an educative thread. I read from page 1 to 16 and I must confess it's worth the time. I feel breeders should have advanced to the stage of identifying heifers with potential of given birth to 2 set of calf bcuz their multiplication rate is extremely low. |
aaaazq:Looks very much like a Bokolo.. |
BoldKing32:I'm actually considering going into rabbit business but the market for it has always been my put off. I won't mind being tutored by you on how to get the market for it. I had similar issue with boilers a year ago. My birds were market ready around Easter that year and buyers told me old layers are allot affordable. I really wanna get the right info about this rabbit thing before I jump into it |
GreenArrow1:Bros, no vex na joke ooo but you be idiot sha... You were too detailed. Even a fool will borrow sense from all the things you said there. But this will open the eyes of those high body counts ladies to embellishments in their subsequent relationship. |
Julietsim:Of all your comments, I must confess this is the part that struck me in the face. Look here ma'am, you're in a wrong matched relationship. Sorry I have to be frank with you. A loving and caring husband would know where to cut the line between pleasure and torture. Most men fantasize p0rnstar sex rounds with their spouse but many a times, they're constraint by the stream of emotions and passion they have for their wife. Yes, you asked for advice from married women but I'm a guy and I'm talking as a man who understands your plight and know exactly how you feel. The fact that you've discussed it with him and he told you if you'll prefer he goes out to get his pleasure from other sources says it all for me. Sex is supposed to be pleasured, cherished and longed for... But when it becomes a punishment, then I feel there's need to call in with your church/mosque marriage counselor and discuss this matter in a more civilized manner. Truth be told, I doubt if he has any regards for your emotional well-being. Marriage should not be a visa to sexual slavery. There should be moderations. |
Drabeey:Any suggestion on the way forward? Remember the implication of asking people to resume their normal life. If the virus is still easily transmissible despite the lockdown, what will be the case if people are allowed to roam freely. With the lockdown, Lagos State isolation centre is just few days from reaching its maximum capacity and we're already getting short of test kits. I hope you see the big picture too. I really would like to read from you on what the way out would be |
chrischukszy01:I swear me self dey interested... You look left and right, front and back, and up and down, it's not just looking like there's light at the end of the tunnel. Anything negative you can think of is present in Nigeria. From having a vegetative president to having terrible leaders and followers. Sit down at home to curb the spread of COVID-19, they said No. Okay, NCDC wants to evacuate some suspected CoronaVirus patients from Makoko, area boys said they must be settled or else there's nothing anybody will do to take the dying patients to isolation centre. And truly staying indoor too has its own consequence. Look at hunger starring us in the eyes and the little money we have cannot buy anything again since prices have skyrocketed. Bros, please alert me when you get the change of country form jare.... I just need to get out of here before things go from worse to worst. |
The message is clear... Let's all turn to God in prayers. The night is about to get darker and longer too. If we analyse our reaction to CoronaVirus as individuals with government's intervention in form of palliatives and responsiveness, we'll see for a fact that we're in for a long thing. Kano is a typical example for all to see. I'm not wishing bad for Nigeria but I want us all to take safety allot more seriously than we're taking it. We should also seek God's intervention. Heal the world oooooh God. |
solochris:My dear it is well. You're not the only one feeling that way. I pray we get it right somehow but our attitude isn't suggesting that. If it means going offline to keep your mind at peace, please do it. How I wish it's possible to just hibernate for the remainder of the year and wake up when it's 2021, I for like am ooo. |
Ishilove:I hope you've injected the dog with anti rabies and you do so regularly bcuz I see this dog biting someone in the nearest future. Mind you, Rottweilers aren't pet dogs to the best of my knowledge. They're security dogs so I see no reason why you should have a rott living with you. This bread is known for high temperament and aggressiveness so am not surprised by your experience with it. Truth is this dog has outgrown any form discipline you want to imbibe in it. Just sell the dog and get another low temperament dog. Rottweilers can be extremely dangerous with children. Make your research OP |
Some weeks back I said it is time Africans look inwardly and come up with a cure for the novel CoronaVirus that has held the globe under lockdown. In time past, the western world would come up with a curative drug or vaccine to mitigate against such health concerns but it appears our regular source of relief is as overwhelmed. It might interest you to know that our very own here in Nigeria have been researching our local foods and herbs for cure to communicable and non-communicable diseases for some decades with resounding rate of success. However, due to the Nigerianized mode of handling research and discoveries, these achievements have gone unnoticed and uncelebrated despite winning awards at the international summits. Kindly take some time to listen to the man himself as he revels his products to the world at a time we need people like him and his drugs the most. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxHQtEzh3CI The civilized countries of the world are at a phase of testing new drugs on COVID-19 patients and I am of the opinion that while Africa waits on their super heroes from the West for cure/vaccines to cure CoronaVirus, it will be wise we start testing our very own best locally made drugs against this deadly virus. |
u11ae1013:I'll like to take a cursory look at the graph you attached. Could you please send me the source of the graph lemme do some reading. Thank you |
