But I thought Netherlands also has 2nd option of using bank statement....just that u have to have the balance for 3months.....u can still borrow....negotiate a low interest rate since u are borrowing for long.....and refund the money before u leave naija....

Look at the world around you. Formal education is not the only place one can excel in.
Sports, art, business and other fields can be explored to bring out the excellence in people.

Intelligent quotient is not the same for everyone.
Most times, this foundational repair has to go as far back as my Jss, when we started learning Quadratic equation.

Even in that year 1, I still didn't know much chemistry, but that CH- chain, the lady taught us very well that I understood the mechanism better than a brilliant science student that had another lecturer.
I didn't have to do anything extraordinary from what I've been doing in secondary school.
I would have been better off as an art student...but who do I blame for being in science; when my school put you in dept by force...everything for military na by force.
I was excelling in all other subjects except mathematics.
They assumed I was a good fit for science and put me der...and I was struggling for the rest of my academic life till graduation.

Do I blame myself for not being resilient enough to maintain my stance in a military school, or my parents for not accepting my own choice and refusing to approve my letter to the school
Or the school, for not giving us free hand to choose our departments in Ss1.

Me that was in ss2, but personally went back read my chemistry ss1 introductory textbook, yet e still no enter.
I can't come and kee myself for book o.

I've put my excellence into other pursuits

My point is that good grades are good but it doesn't guarantee success in life. A number of my course mates are very rich in the real sense of it. One is Fed. Govt Contractor and owns a very big Customs Bonded Warehouse. His company handles and processes countless containers in a week. The vast land serving as the premises of the bonded Terminal is obviously insufficient thereby making trucks to line up for hundreds of metres on both sides of the public road and causing traffic. If you see his entourage you will marvel.
Another is a very popular mass transit company with more than 200 buses as at years back including many Sienna but they both notably graduated with "Pass"

Guess what? their staff are the brilliant brains.

I can go on and on. such scenarios are countless bro.

I really don't understand u guys..I never said good grades guarantee success or not...I have said before...my initial comment is about doing well weteva is worth doing...

today i am a US based robotics design engineer.
i graduated with a lower bsc not becuz i failed any course but due to extortion and wickedness, final exams i didnt write were deemed as f thats why... you never know what people pass tru.. i missed those exams because i sponsored my self and i had challenges meeting up final exams due to hustle. all i was thinking was according to the school bylaws it was incomplete and i can write again which was the way.. but the deliberately made it an F and asked us to pay to rewrite. life is deep bros...

Nigeria is a bad place. today with that lower degree, i have a phd and i can top up the ow degree but i dont want to. my MSc and PHD succeeds that rubbish i got from Nigeria.

thats my testimony, never be too quick to judge.

You can teach all you want...but if the pupil does not have appropriate foundational knowledge, that gap will create an interference in their learning.
Whatever you teach afterwards, is not entering.
And scheme of work must continue.

Everyone should be given a chance to proof themselves in the work place. That era on holding on to classes and degrees should be done away with.

If u like let everyone prove themselves in an application of 3000 applicants...u will still need something to cut off those u don't want because u can't employ everyone........there's no how it won't come back to grades and in some cases the university or institution....

You want to see my grades? I had a 3.56 CGPA. I boosted this in my 300 and 400L when I saw I was on a 2:2 after 200L.

I’m not an average student. I chose not to be too serious with academics else I could have had a first class if I took studies much more serious than I did.

No need to explain urself.....some pple with grades that they themselves are not so proud of will justify with it with anything, especially when they know they could have come out with a better grade
...we all get 4 or 5 years of the college journey to improve our grades....but these days everyone wants to blame lecturers for harassing them
..some will even insult u say their third class in OAU is better than ur 1st class in Unilag..

I got an admission to study in the Netherlands, and one of their criteria is to send an amount as proof of finances in living expenses to their bank account.

I have not seen this one before o. People who normally do Proof of Funds sef keep rejecting me, and they don't do it. The money is quite large, and loans are hard to get.

This admission is important to me, and I can't afford to miss it.

Proof of funds via block account means u must have the whole amount for a year's upkeep sent to the school..... With exchange rate of nearly N1800 for 1euro....proof of funds for one or two years will be huge..

The bad part is....u can't borrow it from POF business men because refunding it who u lend u won't be possible since the school wont give the money back to you at once when u get to Netherlands...

they will pay u in bits like salary every month... It's a way of proving the money is yours and not borrowed... That's why lots of pple that want to japa through study don't go to those countries, which also include Germany, Belgium, etc...
