He was always brutal. He just couldn’t criticise without ridiculing your defence and giving you a funny nickname that would trend for hours.

Now, everything he says in his defence is ridiculed. A taste of his bitter medicine plus the big risk of him losing his job and if the case goes badly, his license and freedom. All because of nakking.

That rebuttal of his did not help, especially with him mentioning drunken sex. Sex with a drunk woman is always a bad idea even if you, the man, were drunk as well.

You’re meeting someone physically for the first time and you sponsored her visa and invited her to stay at your own house? That risk should be reserved for family or long time friends with unassailable loyalty.

He is in for it.

If both of you were drunk and she reported you, that still means you had sex with a drunk woman who could not giver her consent. That’s how it will be interpreted by the crazy society. I believe that is how he (Dr Funmi) would have interpreted it too if he were not the accused.

The man’s drunken state can hardly sway anything.

In the end it will be his word against hers. Regardless, he will, first of all, lose his sleep and probably his job pending the outcome of the case.

If it were another doctor accused, Funmi would have given him a funny nickname by now. He doesn’t give men the benefit of the doubt. He would use his online influence to ridicule you and lead a mob to bully you especially if you mistakenly defend your name. Now he knows how it feels to have your own girlfriend accuse you of sexual assault.

Some abusers hide in plain sight so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is found guilty.

For someone who can’t stop tweeting, he has been silent for about 12 hours now. He hasn’t said a word to defend himself. I hope he is gathering evidence to clear his name before his employers see this allegation.

Just curious. Why didn’t you mention Brandon Sanderson as well? I think he did a great job finishing the WOT series and has written superb personal works too.

There’s a new young gifted writer I was lucky to stumble upon recently: Evan Winter. He wrote “The Rage or Dragons”. The pace is unbelievable.

Other authors I like are Patrick Rothfuss, George R.R. Martin, Tad Williams, Joe Abercrombie, Michael Crichton, Nelson DeMille, Jeffery Archer, Frank Peretti, C. S. Lewis, Jim Butcher, Glen Cook, Steven Erikson, George Johnston.

For classics: Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Alexandre Dumas.

African Writers: Chinua Achebe, Cyprian Ekwensi, Chimamanda Adichie, Mongo Beti, Camara Laye, Peter Abrahams.

You could add a couple of new services to your skill set. Offer them as complimentary services for a start then charge later. If you think you have covered all bases and you just can’t seem to scale up, you should consider changing careers.

A building on the grounds of the embassy was demolished. That is simply an attack on Nigerian soil. An apology alone without punishing the perpetrators is nothing.

The Speaker is right on this. And it should be treated as urgent. If they get away with this, it’s as good as saying Nigerian lives and businesses are fair game. After all, the embassy was attacked and nothing happened.
