but them again

hausas/kanuri have been using it for years before igbos

and so did yoruba and edo people

so the first to use it would be yorubas, igbos just adopted it just like other words they use today

yorubas use it for shocking expression or supportive words

hausa/kanuri use it for supportive words as well

Gbam is an igbo iconic word to signify expression such as

supported

comfimed

well said etc

One would think it originalted for igboland but that is wrong and false to a larger extent
Odumchi you are quite wrong here.

Those wrappers are typically associated with yoruba because its part and parcel of yoruba culture.

The dressing is usually worn by oba's wives and in olden times they werent allowed to wear anything else.

I've seen a photo of my grandma(yoruba) when she was young-maybe in her twenties or so- and that was the kind of wrapper she tied.

Yoruba cultural dances also feature that exact dressing combined with horsetail. Horsetails are very prominent in the traditional culture.

I really dont know what you're trying to accomplish with these lies of yours. Its getting too much.
I could assume an edoid link for the photo because of the hair beads, but some yorubas also use those and the horsetails are more conclusive.
really i don't understand the man

NO

1. The south capitals where calabar in the SE and Lagos in the SW. Let us too Have One in the north

2. doing the most violent unrest in the country, the capital was still in Lagos even when biafra army bomded obalende and fadeyi all in lagos, the capital did not change

3. Boko haram is National problem and it is not a northern problem, what grantee do u have that if the capital was moved to the south where Mend and co are that the New FCT would be save

4. MEND bombed abuja, do what makes Boko haram any different

lastly where in the south do you intented on putting it

Not the SW because of OPC

Not the SS because of Mend

Not the SE because of rapist, kidnappers etc and Massob a secessionist group. We can not invest there Untill Massob ends for good and we are sure our investments there are save and are not taken to a possible biafra/ new country

You don't have to agree of you don't like. Ignorance is bliss. I'm an Igbo telling you facts from the inside and you still won't believe. Take it from me that such items were present in Precolonial Igboland. I don't want to derail so let's get back to the topic.
Agree! what you are saying does not make sense at all. All i am asking is how did it get to igboland unless it was imported from the bini people who either got it from the igala, nupe or yoruba people. there is no way it would have been present in "Precolonial Igboland" . I mean does it make sense to you?

not to derail the thread i would leave it here

economic genocide huh huh huh huh i have pity for the man because it is his investment and his money but using GENOCIDE  in every word is a stu.pid thing to do.I mean how silly can this man be

1. he should ask the people or minister of FCT why his properties were demolished

2. he should be arrested for trying to make it an "ethnic scene" i mean why are this people this tribalistic

3. and lastly. if he was building in an illegal land. then the government has every right to do so, i mean demolish his houses but if not, then he should be compensated and he should sue the people involved in it

is it ? that is shocking because dogs and hedgehogs don't have this much hair at least of this length

porcupines are spines and don't have hairs of this length, more over am yet to see any of this animals with white long hairs unless u want to talk of the European breed dogs which started occuring about 25-30 years ago

Those pictures are of Igbo women. Igbo women wear double wrappers after marriage and single prior to marriage but after the coming of age. Horsetail has always been a part of Igbo culture even prior to the colonial era. Traditional rulers, women and etc use it. However it isn't made with horses in Igboland. It was made with other materials such as animal hide not necessarily horses.

So far I've not seen anything Yoruba or non-Igbo on this thread so let's keep the focus on inyom ndiIgbo.
please show me any link , picture or history book both now and past history that igbo culture has horses not to talk of horsetail

Failure to address the realities of the socio-economic problems facing the individual passing through the education system has been identified as the major problem facing education in the country.

President, Nigeria Book Foundation, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike has attributed the reason why people drop out of school to the result of the Igboman's get-rich-quick propensity.

"Drug peddling, 419, internet business deals, political patronage, and other instant money spinning avenues have out distanced education as the means of acquiring the present day social indices of success, "namely a "white house", the okwu oto ekene eze automobile, paper titles from traditional rulers, and spraying of bundles of dollar bills at the slightest provocation".

In her remark, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Education Trust Fund (ETF), Chief Mrs. Olutoyin Olakunri said that gender crisis manifests in Nigerian education system line in most of Africa.

To solve the problem, she said that a new awarenss and zeal in gender research must be developed, accelerated and sustained.

Olakunri highlighted the importance of Boy Child Education in Nigeria as a whole in the South East, adding that there is a national gender disparity in basic education in enrolment, retention and completion against girls.

She also said that there are regional variations in education with girls and women from Northern Nigeria and rural communities generally at disadvantage.

"The national literacy rate for females is only 56 compared to 72 for males, and in certain states the female literace enrolnment and achievement rates are much lower", she added.

She said that following this, strategies have been mapped out to address the imbalance by raising national awareness on girls education, building of schools technical capacity to develop girl-friendly school environment.

Ok. The picture is getting clearer. So the hausa/fulani are the the purveyor of Boko Haram, it is the kanuri, magan, shuwa that are causing the great distress upon themselves. No wonder. So who are the other people causing this mess apart from the kanuri, magan, shuwa let's continue to name and shame them. It's not fair blaming everything on hausa/fulani, the kanuri, magan, shuwa should also take their own portion.

I mean the hausa/fulani are actually saints compare to the real purveyor of boko haramism. And we all blame the hausa man for the Kanuri sins. By the way, the googled butcher - Abacha, is he not from Kanuri?
