Education / Re: Offhand Or Offhead Which Is Correct by Alvino1(m): 2:51pm On Apr 02
Bade007:
Me I mostly use offhead e.g I know this book offhead, most times I hear people saying offhand... please which of them is correct

If it relates to what you can do with your hands, then off-hands can suffice, but where it has to do with what you can do with your head, then off head should apply simple… 🤣🤣🤣 cos there is no way you can tell me that a person can think about the economic situation of this country offhand… that person needs to be flogged…. Is it not because Tinubu promised us that he can carry the whole situation of Nigeria on his head off-hand that brought us to where we are today Abeg make nobody provoke me ohhh…..

Just look at what the youths of this country are doing to survive this hardship, they've resorted to reckless betting.

Some of them are graduates without jobs, they are tired and frustrated.

OP I do not think that you completely understand the picture… YES! The rate of betting in Nigeria today (particularly amongst the youths) is skyrocketing and alarming… but you see it is not everyone you see lying there came to bet… recently some bet companies decided to run a 24/7 package I.e the bet shops stays open round clock, so some other persons who are homeless took advantage of the development to house themselves particularly at night. Atleast that would house them against cold and insecurity…. Make them know say na only where go bath and brush for morning remain….

Family / Re: Police Invitation; What Could Go Wrong At The Police Station? by Alvino1(m): 12:54pm On Mar 05
Afonja2000:
This my female colleague at work received a call from a female Police officer by name officer angel.

She informed her that her husband brought a complaint against her to the station and as a result her presence is required at the station.

It was when she got home tonight that the police Invitation was handed to her by a co-tenant.

Right now, she is contemplating if she should honor the invitation or not as she is not sure if the Nigerian police can be trusted.

From what I could gather concerning her and her husband is that they have been married for less than two years. The foundation of the marriage was built on lies. The husband pretended to be what he wasn't during their courtship, which unfortunately lasted less than three months.

My colleague for reasons I'm yet to understand failed to make all the necessary enquiry concerning the man she was getting married to.

The man has been married before in which the first wife died as a result of maltreatment from the man and his family members especially from his mother and his elder sisters.

My colleague saw a completely different man from what she thought that she got married to in less than a month after their white wedding.
She was always treated like a slave by her mother in law and two of her daughters with broken marriages.

The husband always accused her of having extra marital affairs with no tangible evidence to back it up and usually have her locked out of their rented apartment.

This is actually the first time she stood up to her husband and the next thing he did was to report her to the police.

She should honour the invitation, the offense for which she is invited is a bailable one, but she shouldn’t go alone and empty handed…. She should get someone who would stand as a surty to accompany her and also have some cash at hand.. cos after her statement, the next thing would be to detain her… but if she has a surty and also some bailout money, she will be heading home immediately after the statement then the police will give them an appointment date and time…
Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by Alvino1(m): 11:48pm On Feb 18
Firstly you need to understand that the fact that an agreement was made orally doesn’t mean that such agreement isn’t enforceable. In your post you have not in anyway denied the fact that you went into an oral agreement with him. You also clearly stated that you returned his money one day after he had paid his last installment… in other words you returned the money a day after he had fully paid for the vehicle… in my opinion I think ownership had already passed to him one minute after making full payments (cos I’m sure the oral agreement would be that upon full payment, ownership would pass) in which case the car doesn’t belong to you anymore… it would have been a different case if you had raised this issue in between the transaction, then “maybe” his claim for specific performance may not suffice… but I would advise you approach him calmly, possibly with some respected people in the area, get a reasonable reason why you decided to abort the mission, maybe make him some offer by way of a promised interest on refund… and see how it goes…. Remember that “DIALOGUE IS ALWAYS BETTER AND MORE PREFERABLE THAN VIOLENCE!!”

Politics / Re: Are You Still Batified? by Alvino1(m): 11:16pm On Feb 18
emkz:
Yes.

For many years, we have been living in a bubble. We subsidized the consumption by the rich. Our refineries have not been producing. There was pervasive insecurity. Oil theft was rife. Chinese were stealing from us. We started handing out dollars to people for reasons that don't make sense. The subsidy was consistently being abused by people who claimed it and still took the products across the borders. Local fuel consumption was inflated. There were no investments in critical infrastructure. Questionable billionaires emerged following the start of the 4th republic. The bought banks and no one knows the source of their incomes. Industries completely collapsed and religion became rife.

Infact, we started borrowing to pay salaries and subsidies. People like Professor Usman Yusuf in NHIS used their positions to rob the nation. Today, they are sudden moralists for a better Nigeria.

What Tinubu is doing is an attempt to refocus things so that the pains will not be even more in the future. Tinubu demonstrates the boldness many before him lacked. We can see some improvements in certain areas. For example, after the kidnap of the Nabeeha family and the killing of Nabeeha herself, we can see how Wike and Co swung into action and have arrested the masterminds. Our military chiefs are not talking too much and are doing the job.

I recall when they started partitioning roads in Lagos for BRT. As soon as the buses were rolled out, no one criticized Tinubu again. So the suffering we are currently facing are pains that will pass.

We only call on Tinubu to go after the sponsors of terrorism, banditry and rogue businessmen inflating prices. We also call on governors to show workings. It is evil for PDP governors to be attacking the president when they should be worried and working harder for their people.

As a people, let us put the same pressure on the governors, representatives and senators as we put on the president.

If the elections hold again, I'd still throw my weight behind Tinubu. Atiku had his time, and he had nothing to show for it beyond plundering national assets to cronies. He is one of the architects of the current mess and should take responsibility. He also lacks understanding of presidential processes. Peter Obi is just a revolt against the status quo and people conveniently forgot he was a governor as well and Anambra did not improve.

Any sincere Nigerian would make suggestions to help the nation.

Well said but all you just cited now are mere statistics, and like Tinubu said “na statistics we go chop?” It’s quite appalling that of all the supposed improvements you mentioned, you consider the kidnap case in abj for which the minister placed a bounty on the head of the kidnappers (which I personally believe triggered the seriousness of that case) a major progress, considering the rate of kidnapping and mass killing going on in the country today, particularly in the north. Well for your info sir, that supposed progress constitutes less than quarter percent of improvement in security and when you come to improvement involving lives and properties citizens, such level of improvement is “no improvement at all” cos protection of lives and properties is a fundamental duty on any govt and it’s a not to be joked with kinda duty. I was hoping you would as well talk about any plan(s) on ground by the govt to aid the rate of famine in the land but I guess by your avoidance of that issue, you have admitted that there is no such plans on ground.. now tell me is that how a govt should roll? Nothing in place in times of famine? You are advising Nigerians to be patient. Clearly it appears you do not understand the present rate of suffering going on in the country, maybe you are looking at it from a bird’s eye view, I would recommend you try looking at it from a worm’s eye view cos looking at it from a bird’s eye view may make you think that it is a mere propaganda… before you embark upon any adventure as a leader whether such adventure would Favour your people or not, you should atleast be able to put something on ground for them to lean on or hold on to while you adventure, no matter how small… you don’t just embark on an adventure leaving the people empty and expect them to be patient…. Assuming you are married and you want to travel from your current state of residence to another in search of a contract, do you leave your wife and kids empty handed?? You see it’s not like our leaders don’t know all these things, but they are blinded by their selfishness and greed…. That was how we kept on waiting for the past administration to change the narrative with all their big, big promises but at the end of the 8years period, nothing happened. it would shock you to know that about a week or so to the recently concluded elections some politicians were still encouraging Nigerians to be patient and believe on the plans of the Buhari lead administration… a govt that has just few weeks to go… well in all I appreciate your comment, we are all here to share views and learn, my prayers which I believe is also same as yours is that things turns out good for our dear country, cos to be honest my brother…. PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING!!!!

All of them can't be presidential convoy, 123 convoys breakdown.

Presidential convoy____about 15 cars
Sanwo-Olu convoy_____about 7 cars
Commissioners________20 cars
Political associates_____20 cars
Business associates____8cars
Press and media houses____8cars
Those looking for appointment__17
Family members________8cars
Security_________________10cars

That's more than 115 cars already.
When Tinubu celebrated his birthday 2yrs ago, people came with private jets to Lagos too, forget presidency, Tinubu has too much connections and I will be shocked if his convoy didn't reach 100 now that people are looking for appointment and will even walk with him to the bathroom if they had the chance.
If you want to check Tinubu convoy, go and count it after all appointments has been given out

It appears you ain't certain with your breakdown.... No disrespect sir
Celebrities / Re: Portable Taken Back To Prison After Failing To Meet Bail Conditions (Video) by Alvino1(m): 8:24pm On Apr 03, 2023
SLIDEwaxie:
Relax and learn... When they said- bail conditions, you automatically think it was only money. If he has the money and no sureties, who probably would be Lebel 13 officers of the government, you think they'll let him go? And besides, no government worker would stand as surety for him because of his madness. That's where his problem starts. ₦800,000 is sure fire, but the surety will be the problem... How much is ₦800,000?

Getting sureties these days are the easiest part of bail conditions so long as you have the cash... there are people who are equal to the requirement that are willing to stand as a surety so long as you can meet their conditions... the Court is not interested in your relationship with your surety.... it is a whole different kind of hustle in court premises, no be everybody way wear suit for court premises be lawyer oh! some of them are retired civil servants looking for clients like portable that they can surety.... these people even have agents that scouts for potential clients for themmm.... no worry bro.... different kinds of hustles dey this country cheesy cheesy cheesy

in my opinion, I think it is apt for one to make a very sensitive observation and awareness as to the age of anyone vying for any elective or appointive position... However any man who would stand against similar observation or awareness been carried on or raised against him, particularly when such man had previously done so against another man as in the present video, then (sentiments aside) such man isn't different from what is already is existence.
