My sister, you are very correct.
But at the same time, once you marry, try to make it work. If it didn't work, admit your part that contributed to its failure. So that others can really learn from it.
Advise women not to broke-shame guys. Not to say only rich guys are worth marrying. Most rich guys were once broke.
A decent guy who becomes rich must always highlight the role his wife played in his success in life. Such a wife is the real queen. Not the one who came only when food was ready. |

If it's illegal, let the country's law deal with it. If we really want to follow religious morality without hypocrisy, nobody should have boyfriend or a girlfriend. It should be marriage straight. No adultery or paternity fraud either. Imagine if some extremists take it upon themselves to hunt down and kill all boyfriends, girlfriends, sugar daddies, sugar mummies, hook up girls, prostitutes and their clients? Are you justifying rape? Remember you v female loved ones from mother to sisters and probably daughters. Will you be happy if they are in situation like this trying to offer condom?
You should shut the fuc k up,rapist wannabe! She clearly stated it at the end that she said so to try n buy time to escape. Some of you men deserve pains! Don't mind these babies here. I guess some just want to be cheeky. They don't know when to be serious. Very bad. Just imagine as a guy, a woman you don't want forcing herself on you. Traumatic. They should first imagine it from that angle. It takes a lot of courage for a married woman to report rape. A lot. The stigma is still very big. Many don't because of shame and exactly what some are misguidedly saying here. Geez! A woman was raped in her workplace and that's all they can say? At least most of us that don't have a daughter or wife surely have a mother, sister, female cousins, nieces, aunts, friends, etc. I once advised a young lady to report her rape case. From her description of what happened, it was rape. But her mother dissuaded her because of stigma. I tried convincing her but no way. The alleged rapist was a respected friend of her uncle. Even that uncle was not told about it. What if he uses that friendship to rape other nieces of their uncle? |

Agbalagbi2013: Happy new year my dear Nairalanders. I recently acquired 2 hecters of land which I originally planned to use for cocoa (TC series) plantation. But the land agent adviced I plant cashew instead while a friend said it's more profitable if I plant oil palm (Supergene) As we speak, I have not concluded on which of the 3 crop to cultivate for a small holder plantation of just 2 hecters.
Hence I decided to bring it here to seek your opinions. Your advise would be highly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation for your responses. These are the topics we want on FP, not Toke Makinwa's bum bum. Thank you. All three are good. Like many have already said, analyse soil for suitable crop. Cocoa is a delicate plant, not like the wild cocoa the Mayas/Ameridians once called food of the gods ( Theobroma cacao) anymore. I love cocoa, but you must be passionate and patient. It's almost like breeding livestock. My people did cocoa for a couple of generations and stories around it abound. 1kg of cocoa is selling around N1,500 this season, depending on location. Not bad at all. Cashew and Cocoa are very vulnerable to bush fires. Depending on land size you have, ability to process it into oil, crack the kernel nuts or even press out the kernel oil, palm might be better. Palm has no waste. Everything in it can be used. The pressed cracked kernel provides meal that pigs eat. Cracked kernel serves as gravel for mud houses or used to fill earth road potholes, etc. Cocoa also has no waste. The broken cocoa pod is dried and burnt into ashes. When dissolved in water, and cooked with oil, it's excellent native soap. The ancient chemistry of local saponification. |

They are celebrating 50th wedding anniversary or more, even renewing wedding vows in their 80s and 90s. Those couples that seemed exemplary back then, most are not even alive anymore. felzokugo: Please kindly explain what LTD M and PEP is. Thanks. If you don't mind me chipping in, PEP is post-exposure prophylaxis. It is medication that should be given as soon as possible after possible accidental exposure to HIV or indeed any HIV exposure. For example, unprotected sex or needle prick in a healthcare worker, etc. It is still effective if taken up to 72 hours after exposure but the earlier it is taken, the more effective at preventing infection. TLD is a combination therapy containing three antiretroviral (ARV) drugs to treat HIV. It is the current drug that replaced older TLE. It can be used prophylactically but the quantity in the container the guy found suggests that it is for HIV treatment. Typically taken once a day. Unless she is working secretly as a prostitute and needs to constantly have PEP available. TLD is just an acronym made from choosing the first letter of each drug. This single tab makes taking the drug daily easier. For some reason, in sexual health, gay people are the most enlightened about PEP. They meet a random guy in a gay bar and have a romp till Sunday morning. They go to work normally on Monday Morning, leave work early and turn up just before end of working day in sexual healthcare centre. They tell you exactly how many hours ago they had unprotect gay sex and want PEP. They ensure that their exposure was less than 70 hours, certainly under 72 hours earlier. Simple. I wish most heterosexual people were as enlightened. PEP costs hundreds of pounds per person. Health service bears the cost. The lady should have told the hubby, monitor her viral load together and jointly decide when to use or not use protection during intercourse. HIV diagnosis is not a death sentence anymore. |

Eriokanmi: This is one of the major challenges they face. I met a guy in Chicago in 2018. He moved in from Europe. Last year, his dad died, the man who spent his hard-earned money on his education, including his master's degree in Europe. He only cried his heart out but couldn't come home cos he had no papers yet. I advised him to return to Europe since he had their papers and work or he applied for work in USA and processed his papers from EU and emigrate legit. He didn't listen, till his US visa expired in husbands. He had already completed his programme before he left for USA from Europe. He's been visiting USA from Europe as a student all along.
Even some can't afford to visit yearly, regardless of their status over there. Once they look at that money, they change their mind. They'd prefer sending that money instead meanwhile, money can't buy relationship and family. Seeing your parents and relations around you alone is more healing than any medication.
Here despite the economic situation, people would dash those in need here money freely , despite not earning so much but ask them in the Diaspora to do same, they could block your lines forever. I understand it's not that easy over there. I pray we get leadership right this year so our economy and country can fare better and people can come home and invest. I crave family so much. I can't afford to spend a quarter without seeing my lovely parents and siblings. I like being with people around me. Over there , everyone is afraid of neighbours. Here you can barge into your neighbour's house and ask if they have chilled water inside their fridge or anything to munch, out of love. You can't do that over there. They'd call police at the slightest suspicion. You could be living with the neighbour next door for months and yet, you're not seeing each other and that's why people commit suicide more easily there. Nobody to share thoughts with and by the time they add one plus one, they've ended it before you know it.
For me, I like putting my money down for wherever I like without anyone coming to me and be asking me to pay for one gbese. If I want to build house, I build and move on, same if I want to buy car. Mortgage and stuffs aren't my style. I be African man, original. Oga, this your generalisation nor be here. The 20 billion dollar annual remittance to 9ja goes into what? I don't know of anybody in diaspora that didn't send at least £1,000 to friends and relatives in 9ja just this last December. I am talking of people I know o. The duplex some 9ja based people built in 9ja and do big man with is less than money some diaspora people sent to assist friends and relatives over the past 10 to 15 years. I wrote on the matter in another thread some months ago. Yet the diaspora person may only have a bungalow in 9ja. This is actually an insult because many diaspora people make a great sacrifice to assist those at home. The reason some people block those in 9ja is due the entitlement mentality of some of our people. Imagine a jobless relative or friend in 9ja asking for iPhone 13 when you yourself abroad are managing one Samsung or an older version of iPhone? Perhaps same relative or friend that couldn't run a business you helped them to set up. People in diaspora can also fall on hard times. Job loss, increasing family size, more expenses as kids grow older, etc. So they may not be able to render help every time people ask for it. The attitude is often that if you help 10 times and refuse once, you have never helped. It is either his wicked wife or her husband has stopped them from helping their 9ja family, all his money now goes to his/her in-laws in 9ja, etc. We all hear of the clichéd "stingy uncle in London/America". He has been abroad for 35 years. A common thread on Nairaland. But nobody cares about how the uncle or aunty has been going through life, without the moral support of people he/she grew up with. The same way life happens to many people in 9ja, so it does to many abroad too. Mortgage might not be everybody's thing but all developed societies have used mortgage well. A time will come in 9ja, with our growing population when land use will be more regulated, land becomes very expensive and building regulations will be more rigorously enforced. You cannot just be doing foundation anyhow and anywhere anymore. The high cost of building will make mortgage inevitable. 9ja is not there yet. As for diaspora fear, the real issues may turn out to be those you never envisaged. You can at least brace yourself for things you are already aware of. |

IjapaTiroko: OKANBI AND ORANMIYAN: THE FANTASY OF EUROPEAN COLONIAL ROGUES TO DESTROYED OUR HERITAGE!
(The following are based upon the Oriki [the praise singing for record purpose] of these kingdoms, and Ifa Corpus [the divination system and UNDILUTED historical records of Yoruba people). Also note that Oriki can sometimes be tampered with, such as that of Ijebu, so we will focus much more on Ifa which can not be distorted for political reasons.
We are told Oduduwa was our Ancestor, which reigned in Ile-Ife between 900AD to 1200AD and begat OKANBI (Only Son) that gave birth to 7 Children as below...
Orangun of Ila (Osun-Kwara States) Onipopo of Popo (Benin Republic & Togo) Alaketu of ketu (Benin Republic) Onisabe of Sabe (Benin Republic) Olowu of Owu Owa Obokun Adimula (Osun State) Oranmiyan (That Oranmiyan birthed Aláàfin of Oyo and Oba Ado Bini)
Again, another list have below names interchanging with the above names.....
Alara of Ara (Ekiti State) Ajero of Ijero (Ekiti State)
Prince ObaLoye Òtùkò Adimula Contemptuously noted that Oduduwa was never the only Ancestor for Karo o jire/ Omoluabi Race. Oduduwa was just one of our divinity progenitors that includes Obatala, Sango Ayilegbe-Orun, Ogun, Esu, Osun, Oya, Orunmila etc according to verses inside IFA CORPUS.
It is an established fact inside Ifa Corpus that both Oduduwa, Obatala, Sango Ayilegbe-Orun, Ogun, Esu, Osun, Oya, Orunmila etc are our Ancestral Contemporaries. Only that Oduduwa was uniquely blessed as the Supreme Leader of other Ancestors by the Creator- Olodumare.
Another unhealthy revelations was that Oduduwa reigned around 900AD to 1100AD at Ile-Ife. It must be noted that IFA CORPUS that established our heritage generational existence made us understand that our Race must have been in existence for more than 100,000years and not as being canvased within 2,000years heritage existence.
Even the account that Oduduwa came from Mecca area to attack an organized indigenous people of Ile-Ife, revealed the devilish position of those that reported same fallacy. The link below clear such evil narratives... https://m./157218294674152/permalink/1064207763975196/
The question is when was Ugbomokun area suddenly turned to Ile-Ife? Was Arabia people before Oodua Race or that Arabia evolved after many thousands years that Karo o jire/ Omoluabi Race have been in existence? Surely, the entire package exposed European Colonial Concocted Abracadabra to devalue Oodua heritage foundation!!!
Back to the real topic.... Which characters are Okanbi and Oranmiyan in Oodua Land? What does Ifa Corpus says about their existence? Which family (ies) or People (s) have Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki linking with either Okanbi and Oranmiyan? Are the Oranmiyan or Oranyan mentioned in Ado Bini (Benin), Oyo Aladikun, Yariv Sudan, Yoruba Oranyan the same person?
Now let's analyze the position of the supposed 7 or 8 children of Okanbi together.....
✓ Orangun of Ila: Most Cognomen of Orangun remain scanty without any link with either Okanbi nor Oduduwa. The strange identity found inside their Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki which is AJANGUNLA cast more doubt over the praises, because the occupant of the Orangun is never of warrior status. The Ifa Corpus clearly identify the favoured candidate on Orangun Throne as Orunmila Priesthood lineage!
✓ Onipopo of Popo: The available Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki revealed that Popo was an area that covers both the present day Ufe Afapameh and Ufe Atapameh of today Benin/ Togo Republics.
✓ Alaketu of Ketou/Ketu: Most research heritage facts available pointed clearly that the area was a Dynasty established by Èsù Offsprings.
✓ Onisabe of Sabe: The historical facts surrounding this Dynasty are far from link with either Oduduwa or Okanbi. But most cultural revelations linking the land revealed that the real Ancestry Title was 'OLA' not Onisabe. Again, it is confirmed that Sabe evolved from part of Onikoyi Dynasty!
✓ Olowu of Owu: The available Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki failed to link with either Oduduwa or Okanbi. Of interest is the fact that a known Descendant of Sacred Atiba Lineage of Oduduwa called "ÒTÙKÒ" was acknowledged inside Owu Cognomen as only Dynasty that can collect Royalties and taxes from Owu People.
✓ Owa Obokun Adimula: The available Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki revealed that the Dynasty was founded by Owaluse. The location of Owa Obokun base called Ilesha was initially known as Obe/ Egan Abiri and the Ilesha main settlement was an international market established by Onijebu Dynasty linking 3 Enu-odi Ijebu boundaries area. Owaluse, also called Olujobi was an Erin ( formerly Erinmoko, but now crested as Erin-Ijesha) offspring of Princess Orunnodo(Onijebu Daughter as Mother) and Agbeleku (Son of Ogun Dynasty).
✓ Oranmiyan: That Oranmiyan left Ile-Ife to Ado Bini and left the place to found Oyo (slippery plateau). Was he the same person that moved to Yariv Sudan and Yoruba Ethiopia? Then, what's the difference between Oranmiyan and Oranmigun or Oranyan and Orangun? Why is Oranmiyan not reflected inside the Ancestry Lineage Praises-Oriki of Oba Ado Bini or Aláàfin of Oyo? If the position of Oranmiyan founded Oyo is correct, how do we handle the past history of Olufe- Aladikun or Oloyo? Aláàfin, it's clearly stated that the occupant of the Throne is an offspring of the Sacred Atiba Royal Lineage of Oduduwa Dynasty. While, that of Ado Bini (Benin) revealed an offspring of Ogun Dynasty with corresponding link with Adimula of Sacred Atiba! The assertion that Oranmiyan embarked upon the journey from Ile-Ife was serious fallacy. Because Ile-Ife was never in existence during the period under review, but area known as Ugbomokun, before European Colonial Rogues crested the area as Ile-Ife.
✓ Alara of Ara & Ajero of Ijero: The fantasy that surrounded the 2monarchs related to that of Orangun of Ila. Both Orangun, Alara and Ajero are Orunmila descendants. Their Cognomens and Ifa verses revealed their Identities as Offsprings of Orunmila.
TO BE CONTINUED!!!
I wonder the origin of these distortions. Though I'm pretty sure they were for political reasons
©️ Prince ObaLoye Òtùkò Adimula Paraphrased By: Ijapa T'Iroko I am particularly interested in Ajero of Ijero. Did he leave Ife with Ojugbelu Arere? Current position says Ajero founded Ijero and Ojugbelu founded Owo. Or at least Ojugbelu's son Imade founded Owo. Many things to debate here. Much of this doesn't sit well with current politics, so many would rather prefer to hush this up. I have always said that Yoruba race cannot be under 2000 years old, never mind from just 9th to 12th Century CE/AD. This thread needs to reach Front Page. Myndd, Seun, super mods and mods, FP please. Why do we love to devide ourselves all the time ? Indeed when was the last time this Obi was spotted with his Benin regalia ? Although he is a noble of Benin empire, I am a commoner, so I owe him that respect. It's not only in Agbor. In Eastern Yorubaland monarchs there increasingly don't use their Benin-type regalia still prevalent just 10 to 20 years ago. There is pressure to identify with larger tribes like Igbo and Yoruba for political expediency. But old pictures don't lie. Google the two monarchs in Owo. Olowo of Owo and Ojomo-Oluda of Ijebu-Owo in Ondo State. Just like in Benin, the Ezomo is the only town chief that has a coronet. Over time Ojomo's (Ezomo) coronet in Owo became a crown. He is now an Oba and descended from same ancestor as the Olowo. While Ezomo remains a chief in Benin and now third ranking among the Edions of Benin (Uzama) after Oliha and Edohen. |

Ghostwon821: Below, the Obi of Agbor in 1935 (Obi Obika Gbenoba) I think the picture is that of the father or the grand father of the current Obi of Agbor, since his title is hereditary. I don't really understand why someone chose to change the title to "Dein" ...? Whomever denies the Agbor people are Edo needs his eyes to be examined. Oh, you see. He even looks much like my late relative in his Enogie (ducal) regalia. I believe the idea of Dein was to call the title a name of one of the earliest monarchs of Agbor. I may be wrong though. Asaba case is even more pathetic. Ajayi Crowther somehow highlighted it in the 1800s. He mentioned that the majority Edo speaking people were being diluted by Igbo from across the Niger. Today, many Asaba people don't even know of Asaba population composition back then. Many Igbo criticise Zik of Africa for writing in his book published in the early 70s that Onitsha people are of Benin origin. Ojukwu hated him for it. But Zik's grandmother was emphatic that they are from Benin. We are not dragging anything or anyone but please don't distort history. That is Edo position on history. |

Lagos and it's environs were part of a precolonial country called Benin Kingdom/empire whose leader is called the Oba of Benin. The Oba of Lagos was directly appointed into his position by the Oba of Benin. There is no doubt about the above. Anybody can say what they want nowadays but history is quite clear. The proverb goes that "Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown". As regards, what the Oba did or didn't do in the 1990s, we can all have our opinions. But life was a bit different then, history was slightly less politicised back then.
