Lovely and colourful as ever. |
Sadly religiosity does not equate to godliness. So we have misplaced priorities and massive hypocrisy. |
Wiinnd:It is actually a Caribbean Island country. |
Some 9ja girls are just brainless. 5k for bd photoshoot. Not for photosboot to give modelling agency as an aspiring model. Just to show off on ig and Facebook. Pathetic. |
Hmmmm |
His Osogbo weed nor be here. Mixed with kaikai too. |
This lady should first go to sculpturing school. ![]() That she totally omitted love from the equation is quite telling. If she meets a brutal rich guy now that beats her black 7 blue daily, hope she'll accept it like that. ![]() Amen sha. |
MissRaine69:- Hehehehe! Well the wines were cheap enough. Otherwise no chance! ![]() You know also wine has this reputation of being healthier than beer. And that notion has led to a couple for example finishing a full bottle at dinner, still thinking it's all healthy. The good quality beers are quite nice to taste too. Now that's interesting. Berlin is something else when it comes to night life. Visiting those many years ago. ![]() Kreuzberg was great. Mitte is still the bomb of course. Berlin seems gentrified a lot already in the 2000s, especially in the East compared to how it was even by up to around mid-1990s. I have always wondered why micro-breweries/micro - distilleries are not operating in Nigeria. Producing properly approved & labelled drinks, not kaikai. ![]() We have a wide range of grains & fruits that can produce a wide range of drinks/beverage and create jobs. If the govt could licence small ones, it could create jobs. Lots of cassava, maize, millet, rice, sorghum, sugar cane, mango, pawpaw and others go to waste during season. In Nollywood films, "bigmanity" is displayed by people drinking fruit juices. Gulping them down daily. These are largely very sugary drinks. Worse than a very moderate amount of wine & beer a couple of times a week. |
highqueen:And despite his first class degree/summa cum laude in that department, he's now your ex? What should he have done not to be your ex? Bring the man called Ogbeide that as kids (tales by the moonlight) we were told lived in the moon, down to earth for you? ![]() |
MissRaine69:Very true. The area around River Rhine called "Weinstrasses" literally Wine Route/Road connects excellent wine producing areas in German Rhineland Palatinate. When you consider that Iberia & Balkans were key parts of Roman Empire like Gaul/France & Italy/Etrusca, easy to see that they have very old wine tradition too. Well, I got into wines purely out of necessity. I worked in a restaurant as a foreign student. But in drinks section. Wine bar was separate from beer/soft drinks bars. So you had to recommend wines to customers. Sometimes they'd ask funny questions, sometimes deep questions about wine. It became obvious that the basic wine training given wasn't adequate. I had to learn more on my own. Same with beer. They may all taste bitter but have unique differences in taste, purity law (especially with German/Bavarian beer's "Reinheitsgebot" for beers from Germany), seasonality, ingredients, brewing, etc. My dear just keep the case of that Lafite o. Selling it on in the future will be easier as a complete case. The price could rise considerably. I decimated my little cheap collection when I moved and had no more access to a cellar. A mere wine rack made it too visible and accessible. People could literally just take from it when visiting. You sabi awoof things na. ![]() |
greenprince:I was shocked when in a casual discussion with guys, over half said one "aunty" sexually used them as kids. Some were under 10 years old then ! One of the most ignored facts in our conservative and hypocritical society. |
Beware of friends. Enemies hardly have anything on you. |
MissRaine69:Ok nice. If my memory from my days as "amateur sommelier" serves me right, Sauternes are more accurately a bordelais (from Bordeaux region). Sauterne is good, except being a bit too sweet for me. But it was always easy to recommend to those not so much into wines. Not knowing how the sweetness of Sauternes comes about helps to keep loving/enjoying it. ![]() Reds are always great. You can never go wrong with classic Bordeaux like Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. I once saw a bottle of Chauteau Lafite Rothschild. A vintage Bordaux red. The price left me stunned. A 1982 vintage for the price of a brand new SUV! Not even from the 1870s or 1940s sef. Well, until we hit big time, na to dey collect the cheap ones first. ![]() Quite amazing how Australia, SA & California have quietly nearly caught up with France & Italy in wines. South Americans are not sleeping either. |
Sad. Funny thing is all this is happening just when everybody is forming holier than the Middle Eastern people who brought their religions. It shows the hypocrisy and ignorance I have always talked about. |
emmyid:Hmmm |
MissRaine69:Very correct. Wow! You have a taste for Burgundy wines. We should go to Burgundy on wine tasting visit at some point. ![]() The city of Auxerre is lovely. Or Dijon, another lovely city. Chablis wines have less flavour & more acidic. I slightly prefer the flavoured fruity nature of Chardonnay. Goes great with fish or poultry meals. Yum yum! |
MissRaine69:Plenty Amstel Malt or whatever you drink my dear. ![]() Her parents are more concerned about "what people will say". Not really about whether the guy is independent or not. Society that is largely superstitious, ignorant (even the educated) and biased cannot see beyond parochial inclinations. Does everybody have to climb many stairs daily even? Shouldn't we start thinking of the physically challenged when designing houses and offices to ease their movement? |
nwakibie3:Freeze crusade might just be forcing mogs to show these stunts. So he's doing a good job. ![]() Some will claim churches have been doing it. But since they now want to prove Freeze wrong they will probably up their game and do a lot more than usual. ![]() |
jclassiq:Cameroon is officially a bilingual country. Though the French speakers like to "form" boss. |
Is it that they cannot account for the legit source of the money? I like to know the offence. They are not crossing a national border. |
Rip. |
OK. But the way most girls form you think they do not date broke guys. Fact is most are broke and date even "broker" guys. And the guy Na gentleman to admit instead of running away without paying. ![]() |
Quality is very subjective. For some it is beauty, nyansh, complexion, shape etc. For others it's character, intelligence, grace and the whole package. It also depends on your starting point. So improving quality is equally subjective and relative. |
It is vanity business so what does she expect? Saints? |
The system encourages corruption at all levels. No point trying to be hypocrites. NASS members have to do constituency projects, give constituents cash, schloarships etc. These are projects the FG, State and LGAs should be doing and providing a proper social welfare system. Not Parliamentarians. They are there to make laws and act as check and balance. We have a nebulous system that promotes corruption. Considering how those who think they own Nigeria who dominate all tiers of govt we prepared to use any means to bring GEJ down, what choice did he have? Whatever the case I am sure most Nigerian families will tell you they were in a better economic shape in December 2014 than in December 2018. |
alexistaiwo:Tor! People forget that pythons are water experts too. They just need holes and spaces big enough to curl and chill. They can at night come out and catch small domestic animals and rodents that abound in Lagos. They can conceal themselves well and go about at night mostly to avoid people. When caught during day time, it's usual by a rare chance. There can easily be 50 of such in that wider area and nobody will know. |
Very sad. |
eki2000:At over 40 even. ![]() |
![]() |
omooba969:I wonder o. They make it sound like one "Sinator or onorabu" representing Abakiliki or Onigbongbo somehow living in UK. This is someone born in Cambridge, UK. Perhaps the closest she is to being Nigerian is eating amala and ewedu occasionally. ![]() If she had won Nobel Prize now, people will quickly "unnigerianize" her. We have enough wahala of our own biko, no extra tokunbo wahala needed. ![]() |
2buffagain:Lol @senior wahala. Weyrey! ![]() Quite interesting how you succinctly analysed the situation. If you're migrating irregularly and you're above 25, oh boy, do not tie anybody down in Nigeria. Even if under 25, still think it over very carefully. Or you might spend your youth in limbo in a foreign land. And make your lover miserable thousands of miles away. If after 3 years you have not brought your bf/gf from 9ja, everyone will conclude that you have moved on. No matter how hard you have tried to seek ways to bring him or her over. Unless your gf in 9ja can at least secure a visiting Visa while you are there. If she comes over at least once yearly, she might understand the challenges. But the temptation for her to kukuma overstay and battle for her own resident papers could be difficult. Many people are caught up in the situation where they cannot secure "green card" and hence have not visited 9ja in 10 or even 20 years. People need to be more informed about the hurdles to overcome to stay in foreign countries. That would spare many people much headache & heartache. This thread is therefore timely. |
