Nigerianization:Those electricity people are deliberately hoarding pre-paid metres. They know the estimated billing is a total rip off. Getting pre-paid metres from them ain't easy. |
Whatever the case, Nigerians in UK send awful lot of money. If you have lived in several countries in the West, you will know. While UK residents mostly send cash (either officially through money transfer service or cash through friends & relatives going home), residents in Canada, USA, Germany and so on also send cars and trucks as a way of sending money home. Due to the wheel drive in Nigeria being dissimilar to UK one. Those cars are then sold in Nigeria. |

ajebuter:In addition, the prof was in a position of authority, trust and influence over the student. The same way a pastor or a doctor would be over a female church member or patient. And therefore can manipulate or coerce her into sex. A pastor can threaten her with damnation/hell fire like the student can be threatened with failing her course. Yes the custodial jail sentence is in order,. |
Haba! This one don pass be careful abeg. |

When helping some of these wretched people, be very careful. Some blame others for their predicament, never themselves. And perceive anybody better than them as an enemy and oppressor. They can be very envious of those better off. They might appear grateful one minute but can become insolent next minute. They can later feel they deserve the help or even entitled to it. If you must help, give them whatever you can give freely. Like a poor tithe. But do not let them be too close to you or become attached to you. God bless all those who appreciate their benefactors and see them as agents used by God. RIP to Dahiru. |
Toks2008:Used? So a guy who sponsors a girl through university, his reward being 25 minutes to 1 hour of sex (which the lady enjoys more by the way, possibly with multiple orgasms), pays her rent, recharge card, transportation costs and pocket money, without any guarantee the girl is not dating others guys simultaneously or that she will marry him, is not being used by the girl, bah? Dude stop try to cast ladies as mere passive beings who are always victims. Most of those girls "being used" know what they are doing. If you doubt it, count how many single Nollywood ladies have mansions and businesses AND count single males who do. Same applies at the lower level. Nollywood girls playing in a bigger league is a more visible indication. |
Toks2008:So you mean a guy who just doesn't want to marry should not date at all? The world is changing and choices change with it. Some people will not marry. 100 years ago, you'd not be allowed to see your future wife alone. There had to be a chaperone. Now boys and girls can sample tens of bfs/gfs if they wish before picking one. There was no dating, let alone for a year. That's how much things have changed Someone reading what you wrote now in 50 years would think you are writing from the era of Nebuchadnezzar. ![]() If Nigerian economy seriously improves and most women do not rely on men to survive and society's perception changes, some women too will never marry. We should start accepting what the future will bring NOT some hypocritical moralisation. Whizkid, Flavour, Davido and others are already showing us what to expect in the years ahead. The reason we have so many people killing their spouses and divorces everywhere is that MANY people, male & female, were never cut out to be husbands or wives. But they still marry to tick the box. And fail miserably. Is it not better to "kukuma" not marry knowing you'll be a gargantuan disaster in marriage? |
hisexcellency34:Kiki Kiki Kiki. ![]() But when we said people frustrated GEJ's fight against Boko, saving excess crude money and removing oil subsidy, you guys said he was weak. That a strong general like Buhari is what Nigeria needs. Almost 4 years on, you are saying that a supposedly strong general could begin an airline after much noise, launching a vague idea in London and wasting tax payers' money. You are a comedian. ![]() |
Good points. |
Kikikikikikiki. ![]() So you still believe church these days is about the poor or salvation. My friend it's about who can carve out the biggest church business empire. The difference between Dangote & churches is that Dangote produces tangible goods or services and pays taxes. Churches do neither and they sell false dreams. ![]() |
Good job |
These things are more common than people know or admit. They are not blood relatives. People even legally marry their first cousins. Common in Pakistan and many other places. |
olaben16:It is his house. He has the right to need his property back. What matters is giving adequate legal notice. Did you not specify what notice period is needed by both parties in the tenancy agreement? Imagine you have to move to another city due to work or you are fed up with living in the house, you give him adequate legal notice, would you like him to force you to stay there? If you will not like that why should a landlord who owns his house be forced to have tenants in his house if he wants them to go with adequate legal notice? If you want to do well in life do not listen to advice of those who with their actions and advice are not planning to do well. Aspire to own your own house (if you do not already own one in that city) and work towards it. Not creating problems for a landlord entitled to have his house back. My tenants and their guarantors sign a tenancy agreement clearly stating renewal terms and conditions and the process involved when the tenant wants to leave the property and when the landlord wants the property back. Every savvy tenant and landlord should have mutually agreed ab initio. I think in Nigeria we just like creating problems when such can be easily avoided. Be aware that when you create problems for landlord, you inadvertently encourage tenant profiling. Be it tribal, age, job type, marital status, or other kind of profiling. It is now common in Lagos for landlords to categorically say they do not want people from certain tribes. Due to previous experiences. It may be unfair but humans are largely subjective. |
Obaofusa:Then you must be very young. Go ask of Samuel Ogbemudia as military governor of Bendel state. His vision is still unmatched by many governors ij Nigeria till today. Osho did not even come close to matching Ogbemudia's mastetplan. Even after 45 years roughly. Only Fashola might be compared. But Fashola had the benefit of democratic system, jet age and global Village to help visualise things. Ogbemudia operated during analogue age hence very impressive. It the rubbish Lucky that makes Osho look like a giant. |
speedyconnect3:Because they probably believe other guys should go and hustle too. And be a provider instead of receiver. A man can do truck pushing, dig soakaway, conductor, labourer, serve cement on building sites, etc. Whereas what women can do for money is fairly limited. Dating or marrying a man who has money is probably the easiest and most popular among young women in 9ja right now. Even among working class ladies. ![]() |
speedyconnect3:A man's goal should be to be a provider not a receiver. If you make your own money you can correct what you think men are currently doing wrong. Like you can choose to give to fellow men. ![]() That said men giving to women is one of the most stable benefit systems in Africa. Since government at all levels have failed in providing a social safety net system. You cannot imagine the social menace it would create if it stopped. You might have legions of prostitutes milling around the streets in Broad day light. Not the kind of thing we want our daughters and sisters to see daily and come to accept as normal. Do not be fooled into believing that if men didn't provide for women, women will work harder. It won't. Even fewer women would be educated. As foolish as it might seem, thousands of girls are sponsored through school by their lovers. This men to women benefit system sustains many artisans like tailors, hairdressers and hair product shops, clothes shops, bag and shoe shops, etc. Becoming a major reason for booming female goods and services sector. |
Nice. Hope she keeps her lovely skin colour. |
vonlogon:That person who doesn't even know Britain is part of UK probably won't get a UK immigrant visa. ![]() If he has eye problem and couldn't see Britain in the list, NHS should not be giving him free eye treatment. He should be disqualified as an immigrant or health tourist. ![]() Very funny person. ![]() |
OK cool. |
Idibia18:Well, you can have both as presidential team when Nigeria ceases to be a territory owned by the Northern caliphate. Until then, let us Southern educated mumus keep serving the caliphate. Everything has an expiry date. Including mumuism. ![]() |
Originalsly:Look, many of those actors were properly trained actors. Some were/are even lecturers in theater arts, Mass Com, etc. Some began acting for peanuts back then, but they were passionate actors. You cannot compare seasoned stage actors like Pa Olu Jacobs, late Justus Esiri and others with modern ones. The aforementioned were even trained in Europe & acted in European theaters in their youth. Mr Esiri already began stage acting as an engineering student in Germany. Pa Jacobs trained and acted extensively in UK before coming to National theater in Lagos. Like Late Sam Loco Efe also had a stage career previously. Even many of our current top Nollywood stars would make abysmal stage actors, where no chance to double take scenes and lines & actions must be delivered perfectly live & direct. I remember taking amateur acting lessons at university, it's one of the most intense and tasking things you can do: your posture, breathing, movement, body language, facial expressions and the most minute things have to sync perfectly. It was fun though. Like you rightly observed, when mediocrity, connections & glitz are put ahead of quality & expertise, the result is dire. Nollywood is the obvious victim. RIP to a wonderful thespian. |

Probably many more soldiers are never found. The rugged terrain, forest and intense heat conceal and make corpses decompose fast. They are officially missing and nothing will be heard of most after that. FG is doing serious damage control by vastly under-declaring the number of officers & men who fall. This is the most despicable form of propaganda. Untold disrespect for fallen heroes and their families. RIP gallant soldiers. Nigeria is worth arguing about. But dying, no way. F dat poo. |
Op, trouble sleep, nyanga wan go wake am. ![]() Keep a safe emotional distance from this girl. Because in your post, her family seems aware of the military guy's violent and abusive nature. No mention of how often she has tried to leave him. Albeit wrongly, the military guy feels entitled considering his economic investment in the girl. A lesson for girls to beware of shifting their economic burden on a bf. Some men begin forming your master. Now listen OP. You are fully aware the kind of man we are talking of. So simply accept whatever befalls you if you do not mind your business. Unless the girl is in love with you too AND you have the means for both of you to relocate abroad and start a new life together. If not please spare your loved ones much anguish. |
