authority2006:Did you even read what I replied to before you wrote the above? It takes only seconds to do so. Or you want to justify the "lazy youth" yarn of Buhari? ![]() |
lilkech:Dude joke aside, as much as life has developed there mentality is still third world there. So their punishment for criminal act is very severe. Not like Western Europe and human rights yarn. |
papat26:Well if 9ja fails it makes them feel good about colonialism. They still get our oil and looted money propping up UK banks and property market. Failed education system ensured Buhari spent tens of thousands of pounds educating Zahra and Yusuf in UK. And Bubu's grandchildren will follow suite. A win-win situation for UK. Why should they want that change? If we still fail to get the memo, na our wahala be that. |
dominique:What is there to be proud of opening leg anyhow for any yeye man? She said right from the womb. So baby daddy was never in the picture. Probably never wanted the kid. Do people just conceive anyhow for any man without planing family? That people have sex doesn't mean they want a baby. In this day and age most people do if for pleasure. We can argue that men should also be responsible for contraception, but we all know who bearing kids without a plan affects the most. The woman who carries it for 9 months! If something will impact on you disproportionately more seriously, it becomes your duty to hold your side. |
Decent contemporary design. Obviously a very expensive area, hence squeezed into limited space. More space in the compound is the only missing stuff. |
This OP was a learner. ![]() If only you followed our warning here on Nairaland over the years. MOST girls date several men until wedding day. Some even continue beyond wedding day. I thought every guy knew that by now. Never spend on a babe as an investment. Take whatever you spend on her as NGO spending. Since 9ja has no social welfare system, individuals like you are the welfare system upon which many ladies depend. ![]() Only give out whatever you can cheerfully give out. But bravo, you hve helped to reduce illiteracy in 9ja by training one girl. ![]() For your own peace & sanity, just move on. It was an expensive lesson that you needed badly. There is one relatively decent lady out there for you. Do not let bitterness blind you when you bump into her. Good luck. |
vickydevoka:They began everything long ago: crossing desert abroad, women street hustle in Europe, g-work, everything. 9ja was still booming with oil money in the 1970s when their economy was already down. Their hustle abroad brought all things 9ja now do in excess. Rather 9ja use it to rub mouth and all their body. They are still better at these things: smooth & quiet operators. Unlike we that are loud. |
OBJ is a big fan of garri. So are many people out there, rich, average & everyone else. |
So this is what some little girls are doing these days? See their breast like 10 Naira Kpoff kpoff. ![]() |
PrecisionFx:Lol, dude this is a free forum. Islamic threads do not allow non-Muslims. You can liaise with Seun to copy same. That only those who swear allegiance to Biafra can comment on Igbo threads. Until then I can comment freely. In as much as you comment freely and even wantonly insult other tribes on their threads. ![]() Igbo is still part of Nigeria and and being discussed on a Nigerian forum, therefore I have the right. If it were part of Cameroon or an independent country, I couldn't care less. I won't even visit a dedicated Igbo or B.iafra forum. Igbo have at least 25 to 30 million people in 9ja. Which concerted effort on their part have we seen to take a common ground? igbo is very divided. You cannot have an APC governor in Igboland/Imo and prominent Igbo/Igboid people like Orji Kalu, Ngige and others in APC and talk of unity in terms of party line. That people in certain regions may favour one party more is not new. That itself does not translate into unity. Why individualism is good, politics is a game of number. My response was to a guy claiming Igbo only want Biafra and not interested in Nigerian presidency or politics. You must be hyperventilating with so much ethnic pride to know what led to my submission. |
Very insensitive. |
The matter is more complex than Momoh said but clearly there is some truth in it. Some Igbo even lament the lack of common position. As for now there is even no unity as to whether Igbo want Biafra or want to remain part of Nigeria. This ambiguity creates uncertainty and suspicion. Igbo have the opportunity to massively support Ipob or Massob or both. But that has not happened. One has to always brace himself for insult when commenting on a topic like this. |
It must be those former governors. They that used to appoint commissioners. ![]() How can they come and serve under a mere commissioner. ![]() |
ShyCypher:Agege in Edo means CUTLASS or machete (scary big one in particular ) in modern parlance, other meanings in the past exist.Omo-Agege is from current Delta. From an illustrious academic family actually in Bendel State/Mid-West Region back then. Urhobo is an Edoid language, so several names of people and things are similar in Urhobo and Edo. |
Na common thing. Those in authority do it. So who will fight it? ![]() |
Now one has to give up. If even a senior immigration lady can be a brutal fraudster and rapist without conscience, then it is hopeless. Every man for himself. |

timesup234:Lol not necessarily true. I know someone, a single professional on about £79K per year. A UK bred guy. He complains of being broke every time. Of course 40% tax rate. I sat him down one day to ask how he spends his money. When he explained I began to understand. Before that as a typical African I could not understand it. It is largely about discipline and prudence. There are Africans on less than £30k in UK, wife on £20K. And they have been so disciplined and frugal and own some properties in 9ja. The less than 30k one is on 20% tax rate. I discussed something similar in another thread here about 2 years ago. I know another couple on even less, yet they own a mortgage in the Midlands which they pay conveniently for over 10 years now. I know a cleaner 15 years back who from UK began a business employing about 9 or 10 people in Lagos. Good income is of course good but some achieve more with less. If roadside tailor make that much money in 9ja as you claim, why is every youth not doing tailoring? ![]() I should know because over the years I have assisted several people train in fashion and set up fashion business. 80% are graduates. Many resorted to it after seeking corporate jobs for years or done 15K Naira per month teaching jobs. |
yeyerolling:Wrong. A newly qualifies nurse can earn £23k per year. I know of some bank cashier (not Tesco's) on £25k. Remember that 1800 is after roughly 30% taken away in taxes and other deductions like NI & pension. Most people do not earn as much as you think. Majority earn less than £40k per year. Check UK average income. She was on around £30k per year. Check adverts of many London city jobs like recruitment agencies and several other jobs. They are less than £30K per year. Many only earn more with substantial work experience. |
Shame on Tinubu. I thought he and his ilk were slightly better people despite never been their fan. But they have failed beyond belief. Genuine inability can be excused because you cannot give what you do not have. Nemo dat quod non habet. But blatant dishonesty about it is unforgivable. |
MrBrownJay1:The magic word 9ja women want to hear is marriage. Mention marriage to a girl with an investor (boyfriend) of 5 years and she will follow you. Just show her a comfortable apartment, a nice car, and put your bank statement with even just 1m in a place she will definitely see it and she's yours. Even if the investor has spent 1 million on her, without ever mentioning marriage she will leave him. The number of girls that suddenly marry, just because a guy suddenly popped up to marry them is alarming. The church is partly playing a role in this. Girls are encouraged to marry not minding if they are ready for it, have the right guy or have the right motive. Many girls have married complete strangers. Because that was the only one who showed up with the magic word. I have lost count of how many sm media friends doing slay queens a few years back who are now in bad marriages. Most of them suddenly announced engagement or marriage with much fanfare on sm. When you ask why they never mentioned they had a serious bf you hear things like "my brother e just happen o, we just met earlier this year o, my uncle abroad introduced us o, etc. Our women want to dump all their wahala on a man's head and they feel the best commitment is marriage. Even most working class girls. But marriage does not suddenly make anyone responsible these days. It comes from within. Never mind what many ladies try to argue here online. They are only being defensive. MOST aspire to marrying a well off guy. The sooner the better. We know this from real life. QED. |
LIFEisSIMPLE:Dude, who told you that you were her only bf even before you bought her the phone? Listen carefully. It is now normal for girls to date multiple guys till wedding night! Forget about any yeye investment. If you give her 30k per month, two other guys might be giving her 25k and 50k monthly respectively at the same time. The only thing that restrains some girls is marriage. Until then simply assume she's public property. Some may individually choose to be loyal to you during courtship but it is NOT a given anymore. Sadly guys still foolishly assume so. |
Pavore9: ![]() Very correct. At least one cannot be useless in everything. He missed the golden chance to atone and apologise long ago. The blood of those that perished under Abacha are partly on IBB's head. |
Na wa o. Kenya & Kpekus are like 5 & 6. Wey dat Zuma pic? ![]() |
BabaO2:The constitution that requires minimum school cert for presidency, have we seen Bubu's school cert? Forget that thing. This is 9ja. Anything goes. |
Basic123:Very true. More regretful because he listened to certain people who did not mean well for Nigeria. It was not his decision alone. There were both local entrenched interests & foreign powers involved. IBB succumbed to foreign powers because he has huge sums of money kept abroad. That was his weak point. Abiola was too vocal about slave reparation fund. He was also too strong-willed. That didn't sit well with the West. Sadly IBB has been too "maradonic" to just come clean and apologise. He's still spinning the story. Pathetic. |
Ayohbk:Gayness was a crime in UK for perhaps centuries. Until 1960s. When it was a crime we Africans did not impose our own views to influence their laws. We did not even officially have a law against it until a few years ago. UK considers being in UK illegally as a crime since some years ago. Considering that many suddenly caught by the new law are Africans, do African governments lecture UK that the law that breaks families apart is inhumane? Rather Africans will be asking what fellow Africans are doing in UK. Whereas illegal immigration is not a crime in a place like Canada. Not desirable by Canada but not a crime by law to go to prison for. It took UK centuries to legalise gayness, when their society was ready for it. We might do that when our society is ready for it. They should go and tell the Saudis their bosom friends first. |
How do you even proof gay sef? The video-recorded them? ![]() If these guys reach UK, Theresa May will welcome them. |
How come the West have no single respect for us in Africa? Can they tell Saudi Arabia and Kuwait such nonsense? I respect both gay & straight but some people should not impose their views on other people. It is disrespectful and arrogant. |
IamD18:It is one thing I learned early in life. Whatever the cause of braking up, after the initial hurt, forgive and move on. It gives you peace too. Quite often the friendship endures. We all become wiser with time. |
PrinceJoeWan:Lol. |
