Honesty. Not mincing words. Punctuality. Generosity. Importance of education. Being always there for others. Happy to see others succeed. Accepting others irrespective of tribe/creed/religion. Sure not all these things are wise in modern times. In fact honesty towards others can create problems. But........at some point those who hate your honesty will come calling on you to use your honesty to defend them. Happens to dad a lot. God nor dey sleep. Maybe all these attributes & certainly God's grace have kept dad going.....living a long life. And more years of healthy life. Amen. |

If she has done more to represent Nigeria one way or another, better than many Nigerians, not minding her nationality, then she deserves it. She has certainly played a part in popularizing Nollywood, one of the few success stories of the last few decades. Forget this online bullshi+ that you've read. Only one bullet went to the direction of the glass. Shattered it and the impact and velocity of the bullet will be greatly reduced. The thief sitting in that side took cover immediately he heard gunshots (apparently fired to the ground at first before been aimed at the glass). So, he had enough time.
No way the dead thief would have died easily if he had jazz. Blood doesn't neutralise jazz. I am a conc afonja and we are the fathers of jazz |

but compared to wat Nigerians pay fr importation, education, health care & other foreign luxuries we are still at a loss o.. Unless you return to Nigeria, doing business from abroad is almost impossible. People are too uncommitted and dishonest to manage your business on your behalf. Most of us have sad stories to tell. I know some who have sold their hotels, guesthouses, farms, car dealership, pure water factories and other business they began from diaspora. Often the only option left is real estate. Gwan2: I'm sorry, but your argument is incoherent bro. For the umpteen time, SS OR SE have senators in the National assembly, these are representatives of the region and its population. Lobby, solicit, push for amendments or whatever you want via that channel....that is how it is done in develop worlds you cited. I am in support if only it can be done diplomatically and peacefully....not issuing threats and ordering legal oil bloc owners and companies operating outside Niger delta to either leave or bring its head office to a troubled region. . Let me use the US again as a model, oil producing states like TEXAS, CALIFORNIA etc have sole right and policies guarding oil production, taxes and revenue generation although federal laws such as waste management, health, pollution super-cedes individual states policies. . But again OIL WELLS ON FEDERAL LANDS OR WATERWAYS LIKE THE GULF OF MEXICO and others solely lies with the federal government......again this is achieved because it was embedded in the American constitution. . Mind you in as much as some state control their oil policies, federal law supercedes respective state laws.....The US started major crude oil export around 2015, because there was a law that restricted exportation of American crude, reasons they have a massive crude reserve. . . Summarily, push for constitutional amendment diplomatically instead of the parochial way ND are displaying. As far as the constitution hold water, you cant say our oyel or their oil.....it is the Nigerian government oil Same grammar. Coherent or not, you got the message. You forget the lopsidedness of our democratic representation due many states created for those who control the centre. That is the hypocrisy I mentioned earlier. What happened to the report of the national conference? Peace has continued to elude Nigeria. You must be very young to be so naive. Or just pure hypocrisy. We have been there many times before. Keep waiting for democratic process to resolve it. We are talking of Nigeria you are talking of Texas in USA. You are really naive. Is that how USA political leaders use ethnicity & tribalism to run the country? Keep claiming oil there. I do not think you are better traveled than me. So forget using foreign analogies. |

Gwan2: I can only allow you wallow in your worries, if and only if your worries wont constitute a nuisance to me.....My friend please go over the Nigerian constitution and understand it very well. According to the land use act, every land within the sovereign state belongs to the Government...this is were I think the supposedly error emanated from, as far as this act still hold waters, YOU CANT AUTHORITATIVELY declare a land or its resources as "OUR". So telling private individual with license to oil blocs and oil companies with licence of operation to return license issued by the Federal government and vacate the region is utterly uncalled for.......and this is where i wont just shut up and mind my business because once they start their disturbances my business as well as movement will be interrupted. Well, we have been speaking this grammar since 1978 now. Where has it got us? Has Boko, MEND, IPOB and others not already caused you "nuisance"? And you think more of same grammar will get us anywhere? It was the military govt of OBJ that gave us Land Use act. Is that how serious countries create laws? Sure that those it favours have created more states for themselves to dominate the legislature. So talking of democracy changing it since 1999 is sheer hypocrisy. When are we going to face the reality that Nigeria is bitterly divided and is not working? Land Use Act only benefits anyone if we have peace. And he who ignores peaceful negotiation or separation courts a disorderly and messy one. Yugoslavia should be a warning. |

Gwan2: In as much as am not in support of the recent quit notice by northern youth and hate speeches occupying our cyberspace.....I will like to ask a very pertinent question......WHERE DO THE NIGER delta PEOPLE STAND? . You dissociated yourselves from IPOB and still reacting aggressively to quit notice issued to them. . In this century NIGER DELTA still carry oil for head like it will make them be like Dubai if given 100% derivatives?....Pls go learn how southern Sudan fare Will their oil and its export polices. . In this era that OPEC member countries are trying to cut down supply of crude oil because of glut in market to maintain a reasonable price, yet some people still think crude oil gat dsame value it had 3 decades ago? . How had the massive monthly allocation, 13% derivatives, selected favors both from Federal and oil companies helped you guys over time......I jus saw a shell livewire business grant...wanted applying only for me to see it is restricted only for the NIGER Delta states.. . Yet some of you that had been curse from your ancestry think your problems is from the man working in chevron or Nnpc either in Lagos or Abuja...Think well, but this time add wisdom. We should let people worry about their own problem. Does your region not have any problems? Have you solved them all? Why is your pant tearing over ND? Evidently Nigeria has expired. Even the parasites up North now say they are tired of one Nigeria. Let ND carry their oil cross. Help carry palm oil, groundnut, yam or whatever cross your region has. Nobody needs paternalism. I am not the one to tell other regions their problem whether as part of the union or when they become independent countries. That is pure arrogance. Let each mind own business. As long as it is not my region, they can love or kill themselves for whatever reason, not my headache. It should not be yours either. |
