Arsewipemod:I do not know about you, but even the best scientists I have met, Nobel Prize winners & such calibre, always put common sense first. Followed by first principle. All great minds seek to find simple solutions to complicated questions/matters. Your common sense is your best ally. It helps you to know where to look for information, which is plausible and worth further exploration, who/what to doubt & who to learn from, what would look silly arguing publicly, when to talk & when to be quiet and so on. Well, I have to admit it's not common to everybody. ![]() It needs no lies, propaganda, bigotry or ego. But straight, honest & reproducible answers. You will find your life becoming more successful & happier if you can emulate such honesty & simplicity. |
bigboss80s:Very true. And check that the battery is working frequently too. The other bad aspect is burglary proof all over the house. Insecurity seems a very big problem, or at least perceived to be one. |

mmsen:Apart from having or not having money, oyinbo are not generous with their money. Even oyinbo beggars know that. They harass black people & other foreigners for alms instead of fellow oyinbo. They can blow $200 on themselves in a restaurant but won't give a dollar to a beggar sitting outside that restaurant. Except those young hippie free love people who might give, but they are few. If you are a busker playing guitar or other instrument & singing inside a train station, they might drop you a coin, depending on how good they rate your performance. My big question is : how far would that waitress be ready to go for that assistance? Into "the other room"? ![]() |
But 9ja is damn cast o. Haba! So not even an iota of dignity for someone who died so tragically? The police, Road safety, Edison motor or anybody has sought to locate her address in Mushin or at least take the body to the mortuary? Which kind country be this sef?? How can people be encouraged to care about Nigeria if Nigeria gives no damn if you are alive or dead? RIP young lady. No doubt you are in a better place now. |
Agric people should study that breed of garri & the soil. |
Gerrard59:Hahahaha. Very funny dude. ![]() I usually answer questions, even insulting ones. ![]() Tbh never actually saw your email. I get tens of spam mails daily and mostly go into spam box. Even many normal mails go into spam. Unless I am specifically expecting mail, I cannot spot it in spam. I think behaviour and attitude make a man, not necessarily age. The so called "little person" can often be the best teacher. Surprisingly not UCL. But I know the school reasonably well, having used their facilities in the past. ![]() |
Arsewipemod:Common sense did . As for brain, no need to go into that. Our respective posts here should speak for themselves. |
Deen77:So somebody who built 14 new universities, brought railway train back, hundreds of Almajiri schools, modernised fertiliser supply to remove fraud, did many federal roads like Lagos -Benin Road that OBJ could not do in 8 years, electricity supply improved, made Nigeria Africa's largest economy for the first time, tried to remove oil subsidy scam but SW used media power against him, signed freedom of information bill, ensured free and fair elections, food was far more affordable, investors were coming back and many more. If that is failure, then the propaganda the person you mentioned talked about was really effective. People with narrow vested interests have used SW media machine to cause crisis since independence like goading military officers into coups as IBB said recently. What GEJ did for Nigerian democracy will become obvious in years to come. When propaganda has cleared from people's eyes and brain and can think and see clearly again. |
jaymejate:In fact she has got fed up talking without Bubu heeding. She's talking on behalf of people she met on the campaign train. How much effort they put in before being sidelined. In deed most have reached out to her and she knows they have a point. She's actually doing Buhari a big favour. Letting people know that many things going on are caused by a cabal. |
Gerrard59:Thank you sir. I do try to reply most mentions, even if late. It is a forum to share ideas after all. Sorry if I have not replied in the past. |
gypsey:Hahahaha. At least church is booming business. |
Nice one biochemist. Congrats! No one can beat you out there if you have been through Biochem. It prepares you for anything you chose to follow later: research, medicine & more. |
gypsey:My brother, when you look at those people, you wonder if this world will ever settle. Imagine a young man about 50 who already has many grandkids, brought grand kids and his own little kids, one by one, to live in a flat that he seems unable & unwilling to pay for. They think landlord has lots of money & can afford to be father Christmas. Most have never moulded 100 blocks let alone lay a foundation, so how will they know the costs a landlord incurs? Some will rather pay a lawyer to fight you than pay rent. It's just that most other investments like stock/shares, bonds, savings are either too volatile or eaten away by inflation, so property seems a solid one. If you build a small hall on a vacant plot & rent it out to a church, you will even have better rest of mind sef. ![]() |
modath:Actually, that visit to that military officer raised my suspicion. That he was there for treatment. The facility has been used by 9ja army top notch since at least the early 1980s. Many of us know the popular company that organises it. Without disclosing much, it was the only major facility in the West easily accessible to top officers in Abacha years because of embargo. Yours truly had the opportunity to see the place then. ![]() |
gypsey:Very thoughtful. My my tenants were bad liars. Once one of them got paid at work, he won't return to the house for two weeks. Instead he would call his wife & kids to come collect food money from his hang out. You know kids cannot keep secret. They kids eventually told the caretaker. ![]() |
gypsey:Oga your own good o. I had to lose over 6 months rent & use more money to evict them through lawyer. ![]() |
Ezechinwa:It is not that simple. Has petrol remained same price as 3 years ago? No. What about raw material prices, local & imported? All gone up. With fall in value of the Naira, inflation comes too. Just like the bag of rice you bought 3 years ago for under 8k is now over 20k. So have other prices. It looks big as you said. But it can afford little. |
nwakibie3:Again? But he's only on transit. Just to refuel. Or have you not heard that the King of Thailand just died? He has to go pay condolence visit na. ![]() |
The trim young lady she was looks healthier & more natural to me. |
Abeg o, which normal person sends an 8 year old girl without even a swimming trunk or rescue swimmer swimming alongside into a dirty lake to swim? A lake that might even be having corpses weighed down with heavy objects & animal carcasses in it considering high crime levels & people vanishing without a trace? |
FriendChoice:What about ordinary soldiers who get blasted by Boko, that are far more in number, do they get treatment in Germany too? Does it mean a year and half is not enough to upgrade at least one military base hospital to the standard that can treat wounded soldiers? Before you blame GEJ as is the default setting, we did not vote Buhari based on GEJ promises but to correct what he claimed GEJ/PDP has not done that he says he can do much better. ![]() |
Tadeus:What about cost of getting 2003 & 2004 editions of the cars above to Lagos, Akure or Benin? But with 3 seat rows in each. In addition, also 2003 & 2004 editions of ML320 with three rows? Thanks. |
Sorry dear. Maybe there is hope for 9ja after all. Altruistic people like Chelseabmw are offering to help. Good luck with your exams. |

NPF needs a massive reform. It is probably the most hated govt institution. Little credibility. They are perceived as devious & totally evil. They represent the worst about 9ja. Yet there are some among them that actually try to do a decent job. But their work is ruined by widespread public mistrust. |
PRISTINEMUSCLES:Actually, it is no respecter of gender. The main thing is that lots of people saying they are surprised here may actually themselves have it to some extent. Nobody really ever tells you to your face. Just like they have not told people they complain about, others too have not told them. Women can perceive bad breath 3 times more than a guy can. Meaning a lady that perceives a guy's breathe might also have it herself, but the guy's olfactory function cannot detect it. But hers might also be perceived by another woman. Reason is simple. Men evolutionarily have to put up with all kinds of job, grime, spreading animal dung on land for farming, smell of death & dying in wars & doesn't need all the sissy smell sensitivity to too many things. People walk about confidently because they brush including tongue 2 or 3 times daily, floss, use mouthwash and believe they have fresh breathe. But the person standing opposite might have a different opinion about it. |
Ugosample:Well, it is down to individual. The smacking MJ got was at the lower end if it was in 9ja in the 1960s and early 70s. Anybody who has kids will know you need a balanced approach. Remember, for minor stealing in many 9ja cities you can get burned alive, so parents are duly concerned. Whereas in many parts of the West, petty crimes that lead to lynching in 9ja may just earn you a little fine. So your bad behaving child has a better chance of justice in the West. So their permissive nature suits their socio-economic environment. Regarding our smacking society being worse you are taking a simplistic view. In the West opportunities are far more for the locals even without much education. Also the robust social welfare system provides basic necessities of life. Things that some people steal in 9ja and get killed for. Westerners have also had many centuries of existence as national entities, largely racially and religiously homogeneous for the best part. Dude, you will be in a better position to judge after you have raised all your kids into adulthood l. |
ednut1:Be careful though. Not all health info online are accurate. But at least you can have a rough idea in most cases. |
mandy1990:Please add more details to your advert: Like prices, location (GRA extension can be anywhere from remote Ugbor to remote Amagba, Ogba Zoo and farther). Land matter in that zone can be serious & sketchy information doesn't encourage people. Not true that serious people will always call. Serious people have many choices & sketchy information is the last thing to attract them. Add pics of the decking one. Then you will get more calls. My two cents. |
Ugosample:Lol. His father was not an AH. Yes, he was pushy. He was a perfectionist. If not for that early push he would never have become the perfectionist he was. Look back at his song arrangements, lyrics, instrumental, flow/delivery, choreography. All at the zenith of possibility in the arts. It was a blend of immense talent & hardwork/perfection. I say this because far more African kids suffer far more abuse for just meal & roof over their heads. Most African kids of MJ's generation "seriously chop cane" for flimsy reasons like taking meat from the pot, going off to play football and minor things. Without any level of extra support from parents or guardians, aside the usual ones. The issue was MJ lived in an environment where parents are vilified for smacking & correcting kids. And Western raised kids use that standard to judge parents. If same rules were strictly applied in Nigeria, 80% of parents would lose their kids to social services & 50% of them may end up in jail. We see 9ja parents losing kids to the govt/social services for smacking or leaving them to go shopping & neighbors call the police. |
