The way some of you like to downplay luck ehn. Because one person has done it before, you now think there is nothing special about it. If you have the All Stars every three years, there is no assurance that you would always produce this luck all the time. It is not normal. It is grace. It didn't happen to people like Ike, Pere, or even Kim with all her beauty. It chose Ilebaye whose entry into the House did not even spark anything. It is grace!!! It is special. From a weakling among newcomers (during her set) to a heavyweight among stars. |

PegasusSolid: Baye's case is different. It's the first win that happened because of a somewhat one-sided depiction of events/majority of viewers misunderstanding events portrayed to them.
Efe came with the poverty theme (this was before the era of deliberately gaming viewers/strategy). This was unplanned but manipulative and pretentious. At the reunion he was rightly lambasted by housemates like Tboss, Gifty and Miyonse.
Miracle played a neat game selling his real personality (unplanned)
Mercy came with her killer fashion sense, enhanced body, party highlights, ship with Ike and feud with Tacha (spontaneous, unplanned).
Laycon was probably the first real gamer to win the show, looking poor and evoking the pity of viewers for being rejected by Erica which almost even snowballed into an ethnic issue with celebrities like Teni suffering backlash from viewers. It was later we knew that he actually hired a PR team (planned).
Whitemoney took gaming viewers to a whole new level, actually second guessing viewers and even identifying presumed strong housemates (planned).
Phyna rode off the pity wave that came from being part of a section of housemates that were called "The Trenches". She looked like an orphan and played the part - only to come out and at the reunion say she played the game and won as the best gamer. I don't believe this though, she's just too unrefined for that sophisticated level of pretence (planned).
Baye claimed to copy Tacha, but the truth is she didn't act anything. She was genuinely rude, provocative and unable to handle her liquor or fascination with boys. Egged on a malicious Doyin, she would act up and then cry when she got fitting reactions, but we almost never saw the beginning of her fights. With the exception of the Uriel incident and beef with Doyin,we never saw her provoking other housemates despite this being confirmed by them.
She wasn't the only provocative person (there's still Angel), but she was the youngest, silliest and smallest, making her fit the profile of the victim bravely standing up for herself against condescending, high & mighty OGs. Ike trashing her clothes was the last straw. Arisers, looking for a feel-good story plus content, jumped on it. Only gamers like Frodd and WM clocked that the narrative was favouring her when they noticed she kept surviving eviction after eviction.
Baye planned none of this, but Biggie failed in its usual standards of objectively showing the viewers events as they unfold. By the time the housemates had gotten wise, viewers already had their minds made up. It was unfair, but e don happen. Some viewers even saw Doyin as a heroic friend willing to fight injustice on her friend's behalf instead of a lonely, deluded, bitter, Hot and unattractive clout-chaser. Kidd and Pere should have lashed out and threatened legal action in the diary room for having their video linked to Ike's very cruel act against Ilebaye. So Baye's win will be the first and maybe the last of its kind - a mistake. What no one doubts is that she has already won. You people are always judging Laycon unfairly. Laycon did not dress poor to evoke pity. That is Laycon. He is not a good dresser. That Laycon you saw in LD is the real Laycon. And quit blaming him for Erica's errors. He was just deluded and Erica encouraged his delusion. |

It is their own way of defending themselves, because people, especially in a country like Nigeria, tend to be very dismissive of people that are closer to the ground and do not accord them respect.
So, they shout, they're quick to pick offense, they rave, because that is how they give themselves the illusion of size; that is how they make themselves bigger, since they cannot be physically bigger.
It is a short people thing, it is not just short women. Read the full post that you quoted. Read the last line of that post of mine. You quoted it to make this reply, and yet you didn't bother to read the whole post. |

Rapmoney: It seems as if private school owners in Nigeria belong to a secret cult that is hidden from the public, and which is different from the usual private school owners association that we know of. It's as if anyone who opens a school is forced to join this 'evil association' with utmost alacrity. Why do I feel so? There is a laid down pattern which almost everyone of them follows. To suck you, use you and drain the youthfulness out of your soul.
All over the world, July/August is usually a long holiday when teachers take out time to rest, go on vacations or engage in acquiring new skills that could even be outside their field. What we usually observe in Nigeria is different from this. In Nigeria, it is a time where school owners engage teachers in fruitless and vain holiday lesson just to suck money from gullible parents and prevent the teachers from engaging in other endeavours that can improve their lives and wellbeing.
If you're a young person and you work in a private school, I beg you, have different plans for yourself and set targets for the duration you wish to work in the school, if you don't want your life to become wasted. There is no career growth in Nigerian private schools. The highest that will be offered you when you work for 10/12 years is the post of a principal/headmaster/headmistress and with a salary of 70k - 80k. After that, what happens? Of course, you can't be promoted to occupy the school owner's position.
Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that working in a private school is bad. What I am saying is that as a young person, don't stay too long on the job. Lest you waste your life.
Dem say 'dey do am till better job come, dey do am till better job come, na so Brother Okrimona take turn 58 years for inside teaching job. 70-80k? I doubt any principal in a private school earns that much. Except maybe in those British/American schools. |

olaolaking: Date of birth is just to detail and certify the age.
It is just like presenting SSCE as a requirement. The SSCE is the koko. The school you attended to get SSCE is just to get more information or details or proofs.
Some organizations will add more details and specify date of target. But in this case, the guy is 26 Ordinarily, the guy is 26. But technically, he is above 26. Ever heard about NYSC age limit? It works exactly the same. Your date of birth is used to calculate your true age, and then matched against your graduation to see if you are eligible to serve. Once you are even 30 years and 1 day old, you become ineligible. I once entered a program which said entrants must not be older than 35. The system rejected me because (at the time), I was 35 years and 4 months. What did you think the system used to decide that? My date of birth, of course. I was 4 months past my 35th birthday. I was not 36 yet, but I was already older than 35. |

ValarDoharis: He is 26yrs old until his next birthday.
Age is not fractionalized officially On the contrary, age is fractionalized officially. In fact, there is hardly any documents that would ask for your age as a whole number. If you have such an official document, it would still ask for your date of birth. DD/MM/YYYY In fact, most official documents would only ask for your date of birth, and not your age as a whole number. And that is because age is continuous. 26.9 27.0 27.1 27.1 is obviously greater than 27.0 but less than 27.2 |

Kobicove: Technically speaking he's still 26 until his next birthday! You meant ordinarily speaking. Because technically, age is calculated in months and years. In medicine, even in in pathology, you would have cases tendered as "man has been dead for a day and 2 hours." They will not say, "man has been dead for a day". They would include the hours past one day because those hours are not useless. They are significant. |

olaolaking: Can you fill any form and input 26+? Have you seen any online form with such things as 26 plus in there selection? Most official forms would not ask you for your age as a whole number. They would rather ask for date of birth which would include day/month/year. That is because age is never really a discrete variable, exactly like time. It is continuous until you die. |

IMASTEX: The reference point is a "year". Tell that to organizations like NYSC. And who told you the reference is year? You think we are talking about birthday day here? We are talking about age. Age includes day, month and year. Organizations like NYSC does not just look at the year you were born. They look at the day and month as well. If you are one day or a month past your 30th birth, you will be treated as above 30. It is the same with this issue. Someone between 26 and 27 will be treated as older than 26. |

IMASTEX: The reference point is a "year". Age is a continuous variable in this regard. 26+1 month is greater than 26. For example, NYSC said 30 or below for service eligibility. Because of certain disputes, some people turned it to 29 years max. But it is actually 30 or below. If your date of birth is 27/08/1993, for example. And you graduate 28/08/2023, you become immediately ineligible by being a day older than 30 years old. |

He is worried if he can still apply for bank graduate trainees vacancies in which the criteria for the fresh graduates is that they should be not more than 26 years old. Because he will be 27 years on November 6th this year. Just few months to go.
Can he still be considered 26 years? Or is he above the age limit? He is already more than 26 years old. He is 26 and 8 months. |

Technology Market › How I Ended Up Buying A Fake Lg TV. Or Did I? by aremubabs(op): 11:24am On Aug 26, 2023 |
OK, I am not the television type of person. Neither is my wife. As long as it has a wide screen (32' and above), black in colour and with a flatscreen and a thin bezel, we are interested.
My wife just opened a shop, so we moved our sitting room TV to her shop, and I prepared to buy a bigger TV for the sitting room. My budget was 40-50k, so I decided I would go for a Tokunbo TV (the ones we like to call London or American-used here in Nigeria).
So, I went to Iwo Road side to buy TV. I went straight into one shop like that (name withheld), and I found the TV I liked. At the time, I didn't care about brand. I just wanted a big screen TV. I saw a 32 inch TV. I negotiated a price with the seller and got it for 40k. Then, I noticed the LG logo on the bottom bezel.
The seller tested the TV for me, packed it in a carton, and off I went home. At home, I took the time to check the TV. There was an LG sticker stuck to the back which stated that it was an HD-LED TV.
Then, I noticed the TV was DVD-integrated. Since I am not very particular about TVs, I considered myself lucky.
The seller did not sell any remote with the TV. He said he made only a tiny profit with the 40k he sold it to me. So, along the way, I had bought an LG remote.
When I tried using the remote control to take the TV out of standby mode, it did not work. I had to use the side buttons on the TV to navigate.
The next day, I returned to the seller to complain about the TV not responding to a remote. He gave me a UMC remote which surprisingly worked for the TV.
Alright, I began to play around with the TV using the UMC remote. Everything seemed OK, only that I had yet to see the iconic LG icon on the screen since I began using the TV.
Then, as I pressed a button on the remote, there was a message on my screen which says if I have a problem with the TV, I should contact Cello Electronics.
I began to wonder. What has Cello Electronics got to do with LG?
Next, I tried verifying the product number and serial number on the LG website but neither the product number nor the serial number could be found.
I browsed Cello Electronics and found that there is a high chance of the TV being a Cello TV fraudulently branded an LG TV. The repackaging probably happened here in Nigeria.
I have sent an email to Cello Electronics to help verify the identity of this TV in my sitting room. The product number has a similar format with that of Cello TVs, so I am almost 100% sure that my TV is a fake LG.
What are your take on my experience? For those who know Cello Electronics, is there a quick way to verify product numbers with them? It is taking forever for them to even acknowledge my email, let alone give a response. With LG, response was immediate.
Thank you. |

I am grateful for surviving all the challenges throughout the last 365 days.hbd to me nairalander show me love u can call me check my signature for my contact I don't agree. I think ugly girls get more temptations because many guys see them as available or within reach. And once guys approach them, they might give in quite easily because of esteem issues. I remembered there was a guy then dating this unattractive girl. They were not really dating, it was just the girl forcing herself on the guy. One day, while in his room, I asked him if he was serious about the girl. He said, "For where, that ugly thing?" We didn't know the girl was outside the room eavesdropping. That statement really hurt her. She swore she would bag a man before night. Her words were like "shebi I am ugly to you, you will see." Alas, she got a man o. She even got pregnant at a point, for another man, because at a time, I saw her pre-wedding photos. She was still as ugly as ever, even with heavy makeup. |

Yorubas have a saying "Ai tete mole, ole moloko" If you had been patient and more tactically about it, you just might have caught her in the act. But by rushing to react based on that erotic message, you have given her the opportunity to turn the tables on you. When I was in the university, I had a friend who liked this girl. One day, he saw a suspicious message of "I love you" sent to her. He reacted violently. The girl used the opportunity to break up with him. It turned out that she had actually even cheated on him with that guy. But then used the excuse of my guy's violence to play victim. |
