Much respect for Osinbajo. Nigeria missed out. Nigerians truly deserve the leaders they get. The south has been expertly played by the Northerners again. Watch how they support Atiku to win. My vote still goes to Peter Obi |
Family › Re: What Marriage Advice Would You Give Your Younger Self? by Arielle: 11:05pm On Jun 06, 2022 |
Was married for 12 years, been widowed for 5 years. This was advice I had drummed into my head even before I got married. 1. Give him peace. Be the sanctuary he needs after he's been through all the world throws at him daily. 2. Pick your battles. Learn to ignore a lot of things. Even when you've caught him at it, sometimes it pays to let it go. 3. You are not the man. Embrace your femininity, your softness and womanhood. Never give that up trying to be equal with him. You are different. Own that. 4. NEVER put the children before him. He is actually number 1. God gave him to you as your partner and gave your children to you both as care givers. Together you are a team who temporarily put the needs of the children first when they are young and dependent. But never forget that he is your partner and he is the one that will be there when the children have grown and gone on to have families of their own. So don't neglect him. Work on building and nurturing your relationship. 5. Words wound. Watch your tongue. 6. Listen to your mother. Watch how she treats your father and apply it. So spoil him, cater to him. Be his biggest cheerleader. Praise and appreciate the littlest thing he does. Create a loving comfortable home for him to come to.
Advice I got from my mother and it worked for me. Good luck to you young'uns. |

You entitled, crazy, Nigerian ladies deserves zilch from men. Not even Indonesian rupees. What money? Look at this dirty creep. How many women do you know who sit at home and idly wait for money from their husbands? Most women I know work damn hard. At the very least as hard if not harder than their husbands. You need to change the circle of females you know. But as they say, like calls to like. See who is talking about entitlement. No money or ring or d^ck entitles any self-respecting man to crawl into his woman's bed reeking of dirt, sweat and ho and expect her to fling her legs open just because he's a man. Since you support that kind of behaviour, you are a dirty man yourself. So go take a long hot shower and scrub that rancid d^ck. |

DOTian: Buhari can install a gorilla as his successor if he so wants! You are right, he sure can do it! He controls INEC, The Army, The Police and a reasonable amount of the political class up North.
What Buhari can not do is to control the aftermath of such a dangerous decision, because surely, there will be a reaction and a pushback and you know what? Buhari will be in daurra, far away from power to handle that. Perhaps that would be the catalyst the south needs to come to its senses and break away from this accursed union. The East, West or Niger Delta cannot break away by themselves. We need a united south to stand against the north. Then we can agree to go our seperate ways thereafter. Sounds simplistic but it can be done. |

WisdomCanada: Una never see anything. Tinubu just bit the Tiger’s tail the moment he said he made Buhari the president of Nigeria.
Boldly saying that it is ‘his turn’ to rule Nigeria, as if over 200 million Nigerians signed the agreement between him and Buhari’s faction of APC.
Tinubu is greedy, power-drunk and irredeemably corrupt. His leaky pampers will soon start leaking uncontrollably when EFCC unleashes mayhem upon him and his camp. TINUBU CAN NEVER BE THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, THE BLOOD OF THOSE HE KILLED AT LEKKI TOLL GATE WILL HUNT AND HAUNT HIM FOR THE REST OF HIS GREEDY AND SELF-ENTITLED LIFE. Its as though people have forgotten the role this man played in the murder of those kids at Lekki toll gate. For that fact alone, Tinubu will NEVER rule this country. And he compounds it by demeaning Buhari, whose vindictiveness is only matched by Obasanjo's. I'm almost sorry for him. |

Nothing good can come out from him.
Self Determination is the only thing that matters in Nigeria. We have very short snd selective memories in this country. |

Sheuns: Some people made it possible for you to be governor in 1999 too. You didn’t do it alone. Baba leave story.
You played a role no doubt but do not take credits of members of the nPDP that collapsed PDP structure then. The total votes from the south west for APC was less than 2.7M, Kaduna and Kano had more than the entire votes of the South west for the APC.
I just hope we the younger generations are learning from our elders mistakes. The closest neighbors to Yorubas are the Igbos, most of us born here have known Igbos all our lives because we’ve lived in harmony, but when it comes to political alignments Yorubas and Igbos suddenly hate each other. Our elders planted these seeds of enmity in us for I don’t know why. If you ask them, they’ll say “Igbo o da” without giving any concrete reason why they said so. The same thing goes to Igbos they don’t like Yorubas for reasons I still do not understand.
The Hausa/Fulani that we keep aligning with keep playing us and we still continue running back to them. A United South will send shivers down the spines of the entire North; they know that and pray it never happens. I just hope the new generations abolish all these bullshit hate and come together as one. Maybe we should be called Yoruba/Igbo Best response i've seen here |

ybalogs: Doyin Okukpe made an analogy on Arise TV that has stuck in my mind since I heard it. It captures the disconnect between our rulers and the situation of the common Nigerian.
He said that the titanic was a big ship with many floors. So luxurious at the top deck that the first class passengers could easily believe the story that it was unsinkable. The lower decks were packed with lower class people that weren't even counted when planning for lifeboats.
And when the titanic started sinking, water started filling up from under the ship. The lower decks where the lower class were
While those in the lower floors were struggling and dying,, those in the first class cabins on the higher floors had no idea that their end was nearby, they were making merry in the grand ballroom with champagne and fine dining, still living the lie that their ship was unsinkable.
As the ship tilted and made irregular movements, they looked around them at all the luxurious fittings and despite all the signs that they were in trouble, they just didn't get it.
By the time they realized the danger they were in, it was too late to save themselves.
Nigeria is sinking, those at the bottom know it, while those at the top think it's business as usual I heard this analogy just this morning and it is so apt. Perfectly sums up the Nigerian situation. |

Politics › Re: Iyorchia Ayu Calls Tambuwal ‘Hero Of Convention’ As Atiku Visits Him by Arielle: 9:29am On May 30, 2022 |
festacman: The conspiracy against Gov. Nyesom Wike was of high level and 'conspirators' came from across the country. It had little to do with the Northern unity. The fact is that Gov. Wike's bully attitude as well as how he threw his weight around brashly as party financier and given his role in getting Supreme Court to retrieve PDP back from Modu Sheriff had become a source of worry and even fear to party bigwigs. They didn't want to take any chances at the primary. So, they prevailed on Gov. Tambuwal, whom Gov. Wike had tagged an ingrate in the course of his consultation with delegates, to step down and openly support Atiku Abubakar. Desperate calls were also made to some leaders to reach out to delegates. It worked.
If you consider the number of votes Gov. Wike got in spite of the 'conspiracy', you will understand that without that intervention, he would have pulled a surprise.
Well, Gov. Wike has himself to blame for his 'Putin-istic' attitude. Recall he disgraced and removed Uche Secondus his ally and brother as PDP chairman and installed Iyorchia Ayu. And things could get worse for him when his tenure ends. He might find himself completely outside the umbrella. Fortunately, Kwankwanso's NNPP is there to absorb Internally Displaced Politicians (IDPs) from both PDP and APC. It has everything to do with Northern unity. The southerners involved are just the willing tools who will sell their souls for gain. If Wike was a Northerner, they would have closed their eyes to his eccentricities and the southern politicians would have, true to type, closed their eyes right along with them. There is always that aversion for Wike's behaviour, but at the root of any reaction to it, is the Northern quest for control. You know that. "Internally Displaced Politicians" (IDP) |

Politics › Re: Buhari Distances Self From Plot To Draft Jonathan Into Presidential Race by Arielle: 9:03am On May 30, 2022 |
CutieKing: Buhari can as a matter of face saving denies this plot but he was in the know probably reluctantly from the onset and he only chickened out when it was obvious that idea is dead on arrival. I think GEJ brought this disgrace upon himself.he was so tactless and indeed very clueless, how he did conceived this idea is even beyond me. Pdp is waiting to treat him as an outcast should in case they win the presidency next year . Thank you. This idea has been hatched since 2015 with Buhari fully in agreement. This is the reason why Jonathan started unobtrusively and stylishly distancing himself from PDP and assuming a toga of international statesmanship. A few months ago, plans started in earnest to start drumming up public support but in a way as if Jonathan was not involved. But he was. And he only wanted concensus. And the only attraction was power returning to the North after 4 years. The idea is hard to sell and that is the reason they are now trying to back out. In the next few days, we will know if they have given that option up or they will bluff their way through. |
