Nice and motivating story. But i taught a B2 in all module would give an additional 45points. Seems i am wrong. Can you please shed more light on this?

Kennyyo:
I guess I should give an update on my journey to encourage someone. I am not a regular contributor and I really don't talk much so most people wouldn't know my story. But seeing that I got some help following this page I have decided to share a few lines on my journey so far. P8lease manage it as it might not be very coherent.

It has been a long and deliberate journey that started in 2016.

So when my mates were processing in 2016, I was at a disadvantage because i did not have a master's degree. So the first step was to enrol for a Master's programme in Unilag. It had to be part time so I had to wait for 2 years to earn same. Following the trend of scores in 2017 I had envisaged that scores might not be as low as they were then so I started looking for options to make sure I have high enough scores by the time I was done with my Masters programme. So I decided learning french was the route but combining this with a masters programme was going to be tough. So I couldn't immediately start learning french. I eventually started learning french in March 2018.

Let me fast forward here. So I got my ECA done through ICES (took 7 months- 3 months delay from Unilag and ICES took 4 months), wrote IELTS in July 2019 and got LSRW: 8,7.5,7.5,7 (single attempt). Wrote TEF in October 2019 and got LSRW- C1,B1,C1,B2. My CRS score was 403 and i was already planning to rewrite TEF when New Brunswick organized the Information Session in February. Luckily my NOC was listed so I was able to apply and got invited to attend the session. But more importantly, the fact I could speak french coupled with a TEF result played a huge factor in being invited

I eventually got a nomination from New Brunswick early this month and then Federal ITA on Wednesday. The journey is not completed yet but a lot of progress has been made.

I hope someone finds this encouraging and continues to push. Things might not all work out as you are thinking in your head, but hang in there and keep pushing. It will end in praise.

big congratulations. I'm happy for you. It's truly been a journey of perseverance. May the rest of the process be smooth and fast

I shall be posting examples of well-written fait divers (based on other members' positive comments from the facebook group "comment se preparer au TEF). This was what i did while preparing for TEF. I studied such writing samples and replicated each and everyone of them.

I plan to do this on a daily basis. I pray i would be consistent undecided

Tip of the Day

It's probably something for beginners but double "l" is pronounced as "y" as used in "fille" or "guillemet".

Talking about guillemet, the guys on Radio Canada are always saying "entre guillemets" meaning "in quotes" or quote & unquote as we say here.

Use it in EO and blow the examiner away!
hmmm, mamaroon with the spices. Now i know guillemets. Thanks

I am wondering..U dont need to parboil the rice after several washing with water.

Olopo no get dat time and their food still comes out nice. embarassed
exactly. Olopo that wants to cook 2 bags of rice will never parboil it. Like the op said, the secret likes in the stock, the pepper combination and frying of the stew.
One more thing. The fried stew should be "near salty" from the combination of seasoning cubes(i prefer knorr chicken) and salt.

Your jollof rice will burn. That's normal.

From my experience, I'd advice u submit both to avoid long thing. Also, if you have an existing mutual fund account, it's best you use it instead of a regular bank statement. If not, a bank statement and letter from your bank should suffice.

I have seen where ADR was raised for someone cos the account statement he submitted had transaction history from betting companies... They asked him to provide tax history cos in Canada, as a gambler, you pay tax. However, this kinda scrutiny is all dependent on your case officer
thanks for this. If one is showing treasury bill certificate, is the certificate sufficient or a bank letter should still be added.

Wes is not forcing any organisation on anybody... It's clearly stated there...it you don't want to use etx then wait and use courier...anybody could have created a school email and uploaded transcript to etx and etx sends to wes or creates a transcript and send via courier to wes,it's only logical that wes writes back to your school to confirm. Am not even getting your point at all...i just showed you the mail and explained to you why the verification is done and how even if it's the school that sent it they still verify how much more a third party,it is a standard procedure every school/institution passes tru so why would covid make it any different?if you don't want to get involved you can relax and let your school do their job..i only suggested you follow up because of how the Nigerian institution is (they barely check mails or even reply)...i didn't pay my school any extra money asides normal transcript money which I believe is the norm for every other school... If you went via etx it's clearly stated there they have their own mobilisation fee + delivery fee + transcript fee.. Meanwhile if you do it yourself you pay the normal fee for transcript to your school and 5,050 for delivery to etx..thats what I did and am almost done.. VERIFICATION IS/SHOULD BE FREE...Goodluck to you.
thanks for this post. Please help clarify this. The school sends hard copy transcript to etx. Then etx sends to wes by email. Is this how it's done now?

In view of WES insisting on the use of etx-ng for sending transcript, my friend is contemplating using IQAS for her ND, HND (accounting) evaluation. Do you think using IQAS would be better? What équivalence does IQAS give for ond/hnd ? Thanks in advance

N.B She already did evaluation of her MBA (human resources specialisation) with wes but needs the ond/hnd evaluation for SINP as they require that éducation match work expérience.

walk up to any pharmacy and ask for sulphur cream. On the pack, it's written "sulphur" in bold letters. Apply morning and night after bath.

Travel / Re: Have You Ever Been Stranded While Travelling? How Did It Go? by ayandee: 10:24pm On Apr 26, 2020
While serving in Taraba, i was once stranded at Makurdi. I was travelling with Benue links bus from Lagos. My plan was to board another bus to Gboko when i got to Makurdi and from there, continue my journey toTakum in Taraba. We left Lagos early but we didnt get to Makurdi unti 9.pm. However, unknown to us, there was a curfew in Makurdi. No cars, no buses, no bike. I thought of passing the night at the NCCF lodge but with the curfew, there was no means of getting there.

I had never been so stranded. Everyone else seemed to know where to go as they carried their luggages and went in different directions. I just stood there. Then suddenly, one of the passengers who had gone a few mètres turned back and saw me. He asked 'sister why are you still there?". Then i told him straightaway that i was stranded and explained i was a corper heading for Taraba. Then he said in pidgin "And you no talk since. If i no look back nko?" He helped with the heavier bag, then made a call. Some minutes thereafter, à military bus arrived and we got in. He then explained he was a student at College of Engineering of the Nigerian Army(cant remember exactly the school's name but i saw College of Engineering at the gate).

We met his fiancé at the hostel. She was a very pleasant lady. I passed the night there. The following morning, he arranged for a bike to take me to the park. It's been many years ago (2007 i think) but still cant forget that act of kindness. That explains why if i see a soldier needing a lift, i would always stop.

I blame the husband. Don't let your wife get a househelp if 1. You are managing 2. If you can't treat them like part of the family. Yes, househelps can do annoying things but no excuse to beat them in a way you wont beat your child,

Even I know of rich or maybe government level rich people who get people to live with them as househelp and treat them like slaves.

Househelps are a necessity in some homes but the FG needs to have a registration for all househelp agents and workers because it is turning to modern day slavery.

God have mercy.

The law is no one should engage anyone less than 18 as househelp. Govt should enforce this law. A child of 18 can stand up to any abuser. If you beat her, she beats you back
