Gerrard59: That he did not penalise them (which is wrong) does not he should not penalise SW. The way she just concluded using sexism sounds ridiculous. What about when she challenged a diminutive lines woman for penalising her years ago?
Her case didn't start today. The Bold confirms Serena's point about sexism. Selective justice is not justice. The rules should be applied equally to all irrespective of gender or race. |

Gerrard59: That some men do such and get away with it doesn't make it right and cannot be used as an excuse for the insults against an umpire. Then again, if men insulted umpires and got away, was Ramos the umpire? Ramos was the umpire. He's been abused by Nadal and Djokovic and never docked them a game so why dock Serena? |

bonechamberlain: na wa o. who should issue the warning. her coach was going against the rules she was sanctioned, she hit her bat on the floor she was sanctioned, she called the umpire a thief and asked him to apologize, for what. for following the rules, is Serena too big for the rules if she is then she should resign. the question should be did the umpire follow the rules which is yes (if u understand tennis rules). players get away with some critical decisions every time and some don't get away. even in football in all sport. this same Serena has gotten away with some faulty decision in the past.
her coach has admitted that he cheated so what are u defending. she should apologize to Osaka for taking away her shine with irrelevant controversy. The Umpire was selectively following the rules and docking Serena a game for calling him a thief was the umpire trying to make the game about himself. Osaka's coach was also coaching during the game but she wasn't warned. |

bonechamberlain: I knew u would surely follow the insult line, I would not follow u to the mud.
whose discretion is it to issue warnings, what rule did the umpire break. 1) Calling someone clueless is not an insult. 2) There are guidelines to issue warnings. It's not at the umpire's discretion. 3) The umpire docked Serena a game for her calling him a thief and demanding an apology from him. This same umpire has been called far worse by Male players and he didn't dock them. The question is why is it ok for men to say terrible things to the umpire but women are punished for saying less terrible things? If that's not sexism then what is it? |
Sports › Re: US Open Final: Serena Williams Accuses Umpire Ramos Of 'Sexism' by AZeD1(m): 3:27pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
bonechamberlain: is Osaka a man? its just like saying a refree in a football match gave a player a red card in a match and in another match of similar offence he gave another player a yellow card. its at the discretion of the refree or umpire to issue whatever warning he deems fit. 1) The fact that you are asking if Osaka is a man show's how clueless you are. 2) It is not at the discretion of the umpire to issue warnings. There are rules and the rules should apply to everyone equally. |

bonechamberlain: Williams calm down, accept the loss. Its appalling when women play the sexist card when decision don't favour them, and she played against another female, not even a male. fighting for women right is Osaka not a woman.
She's not playing the "sexist card", the umpire is sexist. Male players say far worse things than "thief". And by the way, Nadal and Djokovic have accused this same umpire of being selective when it comes to enforcing rules. http://amp.idahostatesman.com/latest-news/article218060590.html |

We keeping doing the same things over and over again while expecting a different result.
For the BRT to be successful, you need the bus manufacturer to have a factory in Lagos. I don't care if its Innoson or a foreigner.
You also need to have strict inspectors. If a bus leaves and comes back with its mirror broken, the driver has to file a report and if the issues was caused by driver recklessness, then they pay for the damage. |

Politics › Re: Ambode Spends Over 100mn Euros On Lagos Light Rail Project by AZeD1(m): 9:26pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Abeg, stop comparing apples with cocoyams. You just said that Ottawa's light rail is expected to run underground. This means drilling, excavation, concrete tunnels etc, would be prevalent in the Ottawa design. Did any part of the Lagos light rail run underground? How much excavation was done, down here? The Ottawa Light Rail is expected to include a 3.2km-long downtown tunnel, unlike the Lagos light rail.
Secondly, the type of trains to be used for the Ottawa light rail system, are quite different from the Tokunbo models that would be deployed on the Lagos light rail system. They are brand new swanky Bombardier bullet trains or Bombardier Talent multiple unit trains, not the same type as those proposed for Lagos LRT.
Thirdly, the Ottawa light rail is expected to span 6 years for the entire project, from inception to completion. Lagos light rail has been under construction for how many years again....remind me? Ottawa has underground, Lagos has bridges. The fact that Lagos is taking long also adds to the cost of the project. My point is LRT's are expensive and 100M euros might not "sooooo" inflated like that. |
Politics › Re: Ambode Spends Over 100mn Euros On Lagos Light Rail Project by AZeD1(m): 9:09pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
LaudableXX: Guy, which other light rail project in the world is as expensive as the one that Lagos has embarked upon? Over 100 million Euro has been spent, and yet it is unfinished. Instead of trying to do a root cause analysis, we are giving excuses of topography and swamps? Haba! If the same topography and swamp existed in another country, the light rail would have been completed and put into operation, since! How many years have they spent building that thing, and yet it is still uncompleted? Ottawa's LRT is costing $2 billion for the first stage. Its 12.5km in Length with a project timeline of 6 years. Its way shorter than that of Lagos but a large part of it runs underground. The 2nd phase which is 11km is expected to cost $1.8 billion. So the city of Ottawa would be spending about $4B on a 24km LRT while that of Lagos is 27km. I am not saying Lagos is transparent or not inflated. |

linearity: Read 1 Tim 3:1-.....
What you stated above about not divorcing is, the same thing I stated about God ignoring the time of ignorance.
The Bible warned believer about not marrying an unbeliever, but if you are already married to an unbeliever, you cannot divorce them...but you can’t be a Bishop as per not been a good example, read 1 Tim 3. Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. No where was it stated that the spouse must be "born again". |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Ordination Of Remi Tinubu As Pastor - Is RCCG Compromised? by AZeD1(m): 6:46pm On Aug 07, 2018 |
linearity: You clearly don’t understand the Bible you preaches...what you have just said is addressed by the Bible under...
“...in the times of ignorance the Lord overlooked, but now commanded everyone to be born again...”
Bible commanded that, the spouse of Bishops to be must be born again and gave the qualities of a Bishop and even went ahead to state that, if a Bishop find themselves wanting of any of these qualities, that they should resign and go fix the issue.
No one is preventing her from running her race, she can a practicing Christian and believer and can still be nightly used by God; but once you want to ordain her as a leader and Bishop, references have to be made to the Bible, which has clearly lay out the qualities such a person must possess. You want to point out that part of the bible? The below is also from the bible OP And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. |
Romance › Re: Rude Questions Not To Ask A Lady In Her Twenties by AZeD1(m): 4:36pm On Aug 07, 2018 |
gimmehear: Articles 5 RUDE QUESTIONS TO ASK A LADY IN HER TWENTIES. Posted on August 7, 2018 AuthorTemi Badmus Comment(0) 5 RUDE QUESTIONS TO ASK A LADY IN HER TWENTIES.
Please don’t ask me rude questions!!
Fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen are for some shit you don’t wanna practice in your twenties, the moment you clock twenty, everything changes.
You don’t wanna do a lot of things you used to love doing in the past.
At that moment, the twenties attitude is taken over.
Meanwhile Someone reading is saying, but not every one gets to behave like that in their twenties, but I’m writing about those ladies with purpose, those people who know that twenties are for achievement not playing.
I will be writing about questions which are rude to ask any lady in her twenties .
1. Have you broken up?
A lot of people don’t know that ladies in their twenties really find this question rude and irritating. We all have this set of friends who feels we ain’t supposed to stay in a relationship for a long time, so they keep asking if you have broken up with your boyfriend even when you are trying to put all your trust and love in the relationship to make sure it leads to a fruitful marriage.
The goal of every woman in her twenties is to finish school, get married, build good home, and raise good kids.
The goal of some women. I have met women who don't want to get married/ have kids
So asking them if they have broken up with their lovers is annoying and rude… They won’t tell you… Just watch their reaction the next time you ask.
2. Can we have a fling?
Honestly, years before twenties are for relationships that has no destination, once you are in your twenties, the last thing you want to do is having a fling.
Says who?
Sorry, in case you don’t know what a fling is.
A fling is a casual relationship where people meet and have sex, then boom! The relationship is over.
Let me say it’s more like keeping friends with benefits attitude. Twenties ain’t for such shit.
3. Can we get drunk?
I remember when I was seventeen and my cousin came home all happy and he asked my sister if they could get drunk, my sister was about twenty then, she was in a serious relationship that ended in marriage.
She gave my cousin this very hurtful look that I felt so bad for him and I told him we could get drunk.
We did got drunk and later on I understood while my sister wasn’t ready for that shit… Ladies in their twenties are always trying to maintain a healthy personality since they might not really know who’s watching or studying them.
In your free time go to a hospital or old people's home and talk with them you will realize that life comes at you fast and hard. Have all the fun you want because one day you will die.
4. Let spend anyhow?
Before my sister clocked twenty, she always spend on me and buy things anyhow.
But the moment she clocked twenty, everything changed, she started acting like she’s got a lot of responsibilities to handle, it was then I understood the questions to spending anyhow, buying anything anytime would get her angry.
Your sister sounds like someone who lives to please others not herself, always concerned about other peoples opinion. Age is nothing but a number.
http://gimmehear.com/5-rude-questions-ask-lady-twenties/ Age is nothing but a number. People should do what they are comfortable with and bear the consequences of their decision. If having a fling is wrong at 20, then its wrong at 16 If getting drunk is wrong at 20, then its wrong at any age. |
