Look for internships, mentoring programmes to help with networking, etc. The key is to know someone who can help you.
A good school has all this especially those with a Co -Op program.

Well from your link...the contract was suspended till it was rescoped funded and completed by GEJ government...using Lagos-Ibadan railaway as example PMB will get the credit if completed no matter the feasibility studies ,project design etc done by GEJ/OBJ .....

If you read the person I replied to, you'll see I said OBJ started and GEJ completed.....

We need to give GEJ some kudos in the whole power stuff... his govt brought so many power stations online and I never knew till he left
Like I said earlier OBJ started GEJ completed. I am not taking anything away from him. In fact, OBJ takes most of the blame because the projects were sited in places with no gas infrastructure.

Its why most of them are either non operational or working far below capacity.

FYI...

Omotosho power plant phase II was started in 2010 by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). It has four units with a capacity of 500 MW, and the plant came online in May 2012. The cost of
the restoration of 4 Plant units and balance of plant at Omotosho Power Plc. was the sum of USD 10,092,771.15 payable at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of payment, plus N78,753,893.30 (528,898.40 USD) for 5% VAT with a completion period of 6 months. Deborah Brautigam wrote that China Eximbank did not provide financial support for this expansion, which was apparently scaled back to 500MW instead of 750MW, because Nigeria's government defaulted on financing after paying a downpayment. Another source reported that the plant was currently co-operated by CMEC and SEPCO III. The power plant began full operation in December 2012. Phase one of this project is project ID#27948.
This is Phase II which tells you there was a Phase I.
Also it was started in 2010 means the project, design and feasibility studies had had been done before that.

The contract for the construction of this second phase development of the power plant at Omotosho (Omotosho II) was initially executed with the contractors Messrs China Machinery & Engineering Corporation (CMEC) in April 2007 as a combined cycle power plant with 4 GE Frame 9 gas turbines and additional 2 steam turbines powered by the gas turbine exhaust heat recovery boilers. However, work could not commence on the project because NIPP funding was suspended immediately the contract was awarded.

The project was re-scoped to only 4 gas turbines operating in simple cycle mode following the wise counsell you represented and partly captured above. Construction works commenced on site in April 2010 and progressed rapidly according to schedule. The first gas turbine unit plus the common systems went into full commercial operation upon the conclusion of final completion tests on 14th July 2012, while the other three units were completed and put to commercial use in quick succession on 24th September, 30th October and 15th December 2012 respectively.

Just so you know, I'm also sure OBJ started most of them while GEJ completed them. I don't think GEJ started and finished more than 2.

And the reason why he couldn't make noise about it was because of the '$16B no power' brouhaha he's goons were using to demonize OBJ.

Tambuwal is the Fulani presidential candidate chosen and annointed by Wike.

Unfortunately, no politician (dead or alive) can beat that man called Buhari in the North. Not happening....
Buhari won the North 3 times and still lost the election.

1) You don't need to beat him in the North
2) Lots of Northern people who felt Buhari was a messiah and things would turn out better for them if he became President now know better.
3)Buhari beat GEJ by 2M votes with about 80 turn out in the North and 40% turn out in the SE. Taking the SE from 40% to 60% coupled with Buhari's loss in SW and NC, there's a big chance he would loose in 2019.

Dear Seniors, trust you are all doing fine.

Please would you advise a non-french speaker to reside and work in Quebec? What are the prons and cons?

Also, if one gets to immigrate to Quebec via PNP, can one leave for another province after staying in Quebec for a while and for how long can one stay before leaving?

Any thoughts please?

cc: Salford1, maternal, azed1, 40manlappy et all
This is personal decision and it depends on your outlook on life.
When I moved to Ottawa, I applied to jobs in Montreal and even had interviews there. If I had gotten any of the jobs, I would have moved. Would it have been easy, no but I would have been forced to learn French (which is good in my own opinion). I would never let a skill I can acquire stop me from reaching my goals.

Can you move to other province in the future? Yes

Most of them do encourage themselves in their own folly saying that certificate is just paper but skill is major. Although their is an atom of Truth in it but no good company will ever give you the chance to show your skill if you don't have good certificate
This is not true.

As at 2016, Ernst and Young in the UK stopped requiring degrees. Lots of Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Apple engineers don't have degrees. The world is changing fast and very soon, the no degree required will get to Nigeria.

"One of the UK’s biggest graduate recruiters is to remove degree classification from the entry criteria for its hiring programmes, having found “no evidence” that success at university was correlated with achievement in professional qualifications."

Lagos state has the smallest landmass but the most people which means its road will be used more. For Lagos to have the best roads, it has to spend as twice as much as any state.

Lagos state is not rich but its funds are not used effectively.

The UK allows tattoos expect those on the neck and face.

This is not true. I have gone out with different ladies to movies, dinners and the likes and nothing happened. Same way my fiancee goes out with guys and I don't care, heck half of the time I encourage it.

Stop hanging out with broke people. When you go out with real ladies, they'll foot their bills. They make their own money.

I reiterate, Christianity and other religions in the world abhor and preach against terrorism and killings. Can the same be said of Islam?

But its ok to brandish Muslims because of a few?

There have been terrorist attacks by Christians in India, Central African Republic, China, Myanmar, Uganda, Lebanon and so many other places.

Ok, granted that you are right about parents being Nigerian however, this in no way affects the indigenous tribes in the South of Nigeria who aspire to Biafra.
It does.
1) Citizenship can be revoked
2) The constitution can be changed to disallow dual citizenship. So the moment you become a Biafran you automatically loose your Nigerian citizenship.

You are free to continue your campaign for Biafra but this theory you are pushing won't fly.

Stop making a fool of your self and read section 25 of the Nigerian constitution (citizenship by birth)
Section 25

The following persons are citizens of Nigeria by birth-namely-
(a) every person born in Nigeria before the date of independence, either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents belongs or belonged to a community indigenous to Nigeria; Provided that a person shall not become a citizen of Nigeria by virtue of this section if neither of his parents nor any of his grandparents was born in Nigeria.
(b) every person born in Nigeria after the date of independence either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents is a citizen of Nigeria; and
(c) every person born outside Nigeria either of whose parents is a citizen of Nigeria.

Can you see the "parents" and "grandparents" in all of it?
