PoliticsRe: How Many Governors Will Wait To Hand Over On May 29th? by Backslider(m): 5:18pm On May 06, 2007
@con9ja

You just wait and see.

THE GOVERNORS SHOULD BE USED AS SCAPE GOATS AT LEAST LET THEM BE GIVEN 20years to 100years so as to tell the young ones that corruption is not the way and put fear in the hearts of the new governors.

The governors must be Jailed at all cost It will be the sign of success.

If the new Governors must Succeed we have to Jail the Old ones. Thank God No coup Happened. Wether You are PDP or not Once you are found to be Liable they must Go to Jail. If OBJ is found Liable Let him Go to Jail.

My govt won’t be different from Obasanjo’s–Yar’Adua

* More Stories on This Section

Only slight changes'' in personalities would happen after May 29, 2007 when the new administration of Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'adua takes over, the president-elect has announced.

Speaking at a meeting of the honorary international investments council at the state house on Thursday, Yar'adua reaffirmed that his administration would not derail from the policies and programmes of the Obasanjo administration.

He said that ``the policies, focus and direction of government will continue with the same determination,'' noting that members of the council should rest assured that he would build from where Obasanjo had stopped.

The president-elect said that he believed that the establishment of the honorary council, being coordinated by a former British cabinet minister, Lynda Baroness Chalker was in good faith and in the interest of the speedy development of the country.

Earlier, Chalker had congratulated the president-elect and commended the steps that he had so far taken to extend a hand of friendship to members of the opposition. She said that elections have never been perfect in any part of the world, including Europe and the U.S, noting that she was also a victim of electoral malpractice in Britain when ``dead people'' voted against her in one of the elections she contested.

The former British minister therefore appealed to members of the opposition to allow the president-elect to settle down so that he would be able to work on those imperfections that he was already aware of. She said that the incoming administration should be given time to carry on with the good reforms that had been initiated by the Obasanjo administration.

President Obasanjo, who was also at the meeting, briefed Yar'adua on the activities of the council, which, he said, was set up by his administration to attract investments to the country.

@Big1 Analogy

Wrong! The scene in ObJ and Yaradua case is very different from what you gave. OBJ IS THE FATHER AND NOT THE SON.

SO if your parent being evil goes to steal and gives you a helpless Child food what do you do?

First of all it is his right to provide food. But when you are matured enough to be able to refuse this evil you can boycott the allowance.

We must move forwad for the sake of the nation.

We should never forget the lives lost they stood for something no matter small Against or For.

A man that can die for anything is a great man wether agaainst or for.

@big1

This is typical disillusionment from a Nigerian.

This is was my beef with Obj to get rid of Disillusionment He needed to have Used "Coreism" Where he can work with core of very young men.

He should have had 2 core

one for street children area boys etc

Another one for students and technicians

Core citizens ONE C1

This would have been USED to provide all manual manpower

Security
Sanitation
Intelligence gathering
Voluntary policing

Core citizens two C2

This will used to do more technical jobs

Teaching
Researching
Paramedical
Voluntary Investigators
architects

He should have provided Them with the basics free

feeding
shelter
Transportation
Education for this core people

He should have ran this as a pet Programe and put an Exsoldier that still have fire in his bones as the commandant of this civil core.

This will not solve all the problem we have but it will help us to get rid of disillusionment.

For me he has done well.

@debosky

i have been checking on Obj for a long time and I can tell you he has the country at heart.

As for corruption he is one of the least corrupt Government we have ever had. If you know Obj you will know that he is very difficult to corrupt.

Anyway we all have our thought but we shall wait and you will see the real truth. I cannot give you the complete info on Obj but you will pray that you should never be his son becuse you never be a big spender and be arround OBJ.

Obj is a firm down to earth guy. He does rigorous cross checking and he will admit if he fails.

he is a Soldiers soldier You will want to serve under his command if you are soldier.

PEOPLE SAY THAT HE DOES NOT FORGIVE OK LOOK AT THIS VERY CLEAR ONE

HE JUST RECENTLY DECORATED THE ARMY AND THERE WAS SON OF ABACHA RECEIVING THE HONORS FROM NOBODY ELSE BUT FROM OBJ HIMSELF IN THE PRESENCE OF MEN AT ARMS. IT TAKES A BRAVE SOLDIER TO HONOUR AN ENEMY. ABACHA DEALT BRUTALLY WITH OBJ AND KEPT HIM IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT FOR CLOSE TO 4YEARS. HE HAD WHIPINGS DID OBJ FORGET THE GOOD AND VALIANTNESS OF ABACHA THE SOLDIER CAPITAL NO,

THOSE THAT KNEW ABACHA AS A SOLDIER WILL TELL YOU THAT HE IS FEARLESS AND HE WAS USED THAT IS WHY MILITARY AND POLITICS SHOULD NEVER MIX BECAUSE THE MUST BRILLIANT SOLDIER COULD BE CORRUPTED.

One thing that his government has destroyed is tribalism and Nepotism. I am a "Yoruba" but check out what those "Igbo" guys are doing in the gvernment OBJ. Mr soludo Was given the best CBN Governor of the world. Dora Akunyili given Audience at the EU

Ribadu doing a good intelligence work ( you guys dont know what gadgets the guys have but atiku got away on Immunity)

DUE PROCESS

We nigerians because we dont know the basic of the rule of law. It must be seen to patient. we must try a criminal suspect by due process. you must bring a case before an accused with all the evidence. So it takes time.

We must have due process.But you must also have due Dilligence this takes time.

What is your solution to this problem as any attempt to increase the Petrol price will bring in labour unrest. How do we go around this.

PoliticsRe: Atiku Is A Disgrace To Nigerians by Backslider(m): 10:52am On Apr 20, 2007
@Rawlings

Rawlings was a conscientious soldier. He never sought power but the right thing to be done. He has similarities with OBJ I can tell you for a fact only that OBJ has more intelligence than Rawlings. Rawlings was too PURITAN in his approach.

You must know that Rawlings was not the one that Ordered the Killings he would have been killed It was an uprising of the people that and Rawlings was the Pin head of the uprising and he did not believe that people should die. But since he left power he have been betrayed to his face by his friends.

The Junior rank in the Army that Rawlings Belonged to had a view/notion of the Senior officers as corrupt men and if Rawlings had not played along with these the Junior officers they would have immediately seen him as a collaborator. So now that Rawlings is not in Power his friends are defecting to the other party because there is nothing to eat but the conscientious ones are still there. The Npp( ruling party) are also making wedging Media war against the Party that Rawlings is the founder of. The Media is dealing ruthlessly with NDC( opposition).

A LEADER SHOULD HARDLY LISTEN TO NEWS BECAUSE HE IS THE NEWS.

Obasanjo knows very well that his friends are corrupt and I know that he will deal with them ruthlessly as he has set a fast track court what will prevent this is

1) The Country at war
2) Atiku in power
3) The country breaks up

Look very well at the political scene you see all the above have been tried.
PoliticsThe Politics of Kettle And Pot by Backslider(op): 10:22am On Apr 20, 2007
I have noticed that politicians have had a way of CORRUPTIONALIZING NIGERIANS. By this i mean when a corrupt person in power embezzles money he makes this statement If you get here you will chop.

The followers will also say yes if we get there we will also Chop. So that it is very difficult for some people to that there can be any honest person in government.

I read through some of the post on the issue raised by Oprah and you Just need to see how patriotic we were. If a sin is committed it must NEVER be generalized. We are can do all to label our tribes evil corrupt or whatever we can not rule out that we are all Nigerians.

Our Sins as Nigerians is personal we have all said that no one can be righteous we sentence a Whole tribe to the Condemned Jail of CRIMINAL PROPENSITY.

SO THAT IF YOU SEE AN

IGBO MAN HE MUST BE A 419er
IGbO MAN HUMAN FLESH EATER ( I HAVE HAD TO ARGUE THIS ISSUE IN GHANA)
YORUBA HE MUST BE A FEARFUL LAZY BRAGGARD THAT CANT FIGHT( NA ONLY MOUTH THEM GET)
HAUSA MAN ( MUST BE AN ILLITERATE THAT STEALS MONEY OUTSIDE NIGERIA)
IJAW MAN A LAZY MAN THAT ALL HE KNOW IS ALCHOHOL

we are guilty in our hearts in this OBJ Government we have seen that all the tribes have done extremely well. We are not perfect yet but we must work towards a better Naija.

We cannot Say our all our leaders are corrupt Because the Presidency Is not a Human being it is an institution. when we teach ourselves that we are evil and we condemn ourselves our Kids will pick this up and there is no way we can Erase this from their heads.

SOME THAT ARE CORRUPT WILL WANT EVERYONE OF TO BELEIVE THAT THERE IS NO HOPE FOR ANYONE NOT TO BE CORRUPT, THIS IS A VERY BIG LIE COMING FROM

@OMOGE

WE DONT NEED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUYS THEY NEED US WE ARE THE GOLDEN EGGS THE PEOPLE ARE THE GOLDEN EGGS.

THE ATTACK IS TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT WHEN WE FIGHT, THE RESOURCES WILL BE GIVEN TO THEM ON A PLATTER OF GOLD. THAT IS WHY WE MUST HAVE RESPONSIBLE FOLLOWERSHIP.

THEY ARE IN IRAQ MAKING ALOT OF MONEY. THERE IS A LOT OF UNEASE IN THE MIDDLE EAST BUT THERE IS A LOT OF DEVELOPMENT IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

WE THE PEOPLE MUST NEVER AGREE TO HATE OURSELVES. WE JUST NEED TO LOVE OURSELVES AND SELECT OUR LEADERS YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY WILL RESPECT.

BLACKS IN THE USA HAVE NO SENSE OF LEADERSHIP AND THERE IS NO CENTRAL IMAGE FOR A AFRICAN AMERICAN THAT IS WHY YOU CAN SEE A BLACK MAN IN THE USA BUY A PLATINUM CHANGE COSTING $300,000

THERE IS NO TRUE BLACK TRUE HERO THAT HAS EVER LEAD A STATE.

WE DON'T NEED TO BEG TO DO BUSINESS WHY?

Oil is energy. There is no alternative to energy. We are blessed to have it on our shores. The world is sustained by energy. Slavery was energy. The slave dealers were looking for labour to drive production. Energy and oil or gas will always be there whether we have it or not. It shouldn’t be the fulcrum of our economy.
