[quote author=ochukoccna]For those of us who have taken fight already, which airline offers the best baggage allowance vis a vis comfort
Emirates quotes 30kg while Airfrance, Lufthansa and KLM quote 23kg*2 [all for Economy class]
Did any one make excess baggage allowance payment [I really see some crazy prices per excess kilogram]
?

[b]Seems you are numb to the fact that your sponsor's license number is unique?

Emirates is actually 40kg but don't exceed it, and their service is world class. They state 30 but its actually 40. My advice don't go with too many clothes,, u gEt nice and more fashionable ones here.but buy warm clothes in naija oo its cheaper and its Chilly here already.

....and i'm guessing that your solution is to connect him to that law firm?

Hahahhahah Justwise Oga justwise abeg just leave this issue, the guy didn't even collect the phone nos of the guy he saw, so there's no way further info for confirmation can be obtained. If am that guy who was refused I think its better to just reapply and clearly state out the error that was made by BHC in the last applcation. They wld speed it up.

Ah! Mr Justwise, I was beginning to consider the Administrative Review Option but this statement of yours is making me have doubts. Please, do you think it's not possible to have a reply to an administrative review in 10-working days? You probably saw my case, do I have a chance at having my refusal overturned too?
I think u shld send a Pm to that guy who reported the story mayb he can shed more light to u on exactly how the review took place. If u hv enof dough to spend mayb u cAn try both review and reApplicAtion.

Thank you very much Be+2012. Please, 1) Do I need a new CAS really as the CAS is still valid? 2) Can I write a letter and attach it to my new application explaining the error that led to the refusal? Thanks once again.

humble_dove: Hello Justwise and all posters on this thread. Well done! I just registered on this forum though I had read through this thread before. I got a refusal today due to an error of some sort. The refusal grounds: I submitted a bank statement which shows a period of 24th July to 21 Aug (28 days) and the money I needed for the application got completed on the 23rd July so did not reflect as a transaction on the statement. The next transaction after that 23rd was 31st July. Now, the BHC didn't consider the period as written above the statement but started counting from first listed transaction i.e. 31st July, hence making the period only 21 days.
My questions goes thus: my school resumes 23rd Sept and I may get a week extension. Do I apply for an Administrative review with a re-printed Bank Statement or I should re-apply? (I'll book an appointment for Monday, 09th Sept if I apply today.) If I re-apply, what references do I need to make in the new application about my refusal? I await your prompt response Mr Justwise and other experienced posters. Thanks.

A rteview will take longer than a reapplication though cheaper. Also I think u shld first pursue ur new CAS b4 any other thing cos getting one may delay longer than u expect. The reference u shld point out in your next application will be to print out ur statement from 22 to the present date. Underline the transaction tht was made on the 23 and explain why it didn't show in ur previous statement. Or
Include the same statement u used, and now underline the period covere 24 jul to aug. Which clearly showed a 28 day period but was overlooked.
I hope this helps

marcdeco: @ Don Oms and others

FYI i want to apply for a tier 4 student visa, that "Points based system: 10 for CAS and 30 for the entire money"
I understand that if i apply on the same date than the beginning date of my courses i will be refused visa.
What about applying 2 weeks before with the entire money in the account but breaking the 28 days rule; as just part of the money was there more than 28 days before and the other will have been there 14 days before?

There is still a very high chance that u will be refused if u break the 28 day rule. Why not apply for an extension or deferment.

Thanks for your prompt reply

lamie505:

The fact that am an applicant doesn't mean I don't know the right thing I used PFL education and travelling experts they told me all the informations am giving and I paid them money cos they arranged all my documents for me.. Little things count if you like don't do any transaction on the 28th day no problem.. But the last transaction can just be a little amount cos BHC will count from the last day upward so bro no one is giving wrong info...
IF u believe so much in PFL that u r now shooting advice even though ur visa aint out, What are u now fretting about on Nairaland. That u paid money for an application u could hv done on ur own doeant make ur agent an expert. Last year I used agents for my Canada Study and I didn't get it after expending abt 200K. So don't be quoting ur agent here until he has proven over And over again.
About Bank reference its not necceassary, cos BHC would still check with ur bank!

Cavenchy: Advice to the new lads coming into the uk to study in this academic year, Uk is full of clubs, shopping malls, skydiving, ocean diving, carnivals, paintballing, bowling, ice skating rinks and yes pretty girls/hot dudes. Loads of fun stuff to see, do and enjoy. But do not forget that you have spent a lot of money coming here to excel at your studies, trust me there is no greater joy than knowing you've got very exceptional performance and your knowledge can be useful to any organization with loads of cash in return. You don't start to feel the pinch of not being serious with getting the best out of the school process, till you find out those who have, are extremely happy and will still have time to enjoy those fancy things after their studies, that you couldn't wait to explore to the detriment of your own success. Its not enough to just get a masters degree from uk, you know where you come from, your performance matters a lot, the greatest thing is..The world will be your oyster if you are the exceptional one. Take a clue from this and make a big impact on your life from this opportunity. Trust me there are many advantages of doing so. I know people who spent all their nights in clubs during our first semester and slept in class the morning after, today they have seen how successful the hardworkers have become and they say 'had they known'. An opportunity once lost can never be regained with the same vigour. Be wise mates and strive for nothing less than excellence. These are the things no one tells you but most people figure it out when its too late, so here you have it...what you do with it is entirely up to you. Cheers.
CAvenchy gud advice for those who know what they want in life.Well if u know u don't a godfather to fix u up ith one parastal or business outfit then u won't be clubbing. I believe those who do that already hv jobs waiting for them somewhere thts y they so callous.

draustin: Hello house,
I have been following This tread for some time now and I really commend all have contributed positively.
I need the candid advice of the house on the ffg issues.
1. I will be starting a MSc in Public Health This September in Anglia Ruskin university (Chelmsford campus), I have made d visa application and I'm optimistic. I however want to take my family along and will apply for them as soon as I have my visa. I have more than d required amt for maintainance. How soon can I apply for them, should I do so before leaving or after getting to UK

2) What are my chances of getting a decent part time job. My 1st degree is in Medicine.
I am already working on getting a licence to practice my proffession in UK after my MSc. What are my chances.
Looking forward to good and practical response.

N.B I have paid 50% of the tuition and have the balance and maintanance for myself, wife and son.

Why Didn't u apply for the visa for ur wife and son @ the same time as yourS? Anyways u can apply before or after u leave any one tht suits u best.ur chances of getting pArt time work as a care giver is high but u can't practise yet as a doc until ur license iS tru.all is in Gods hands getting a job after ur Msc is a 50 50 chance. Just face ur books first and come out tops @ ur class am Sure doors of oppurtunities will swing open

A well anticipated response (clap for yourself). But for the sake of posterity i will advise you if you are asked a question that you don't want to answer just ignore it or better still be blunt to tell the person you do not want to answer his/her question(at least a nairalander just confirmed you re very blunt) rather than attacking his person.

Note: I wish not to discuss this any further as i can decipher ur tone from ur response as a person living in his own fantasy where he is king and every other persons re his damn subjects, but in life bro things are not the way they seem, i will however implore you to go back to ur philosophies and dispositions of life i think it will save you a whole world of doom.

Lord beans how and what do u call a verbal attck?? As far as I am concerned u r the attacking Justwise.I think this ur post shld be deleted honestly. If justwise does not answer a qstn directed @ him ppl will be like just wise answer me naaa' and now u r suggesting he shld get out of this thread?? Do u know how many threads this guy is coordinating. No problem if he stops I hope u will be the one to take over and be answering qstns all day and not getting any thanks or appreciation.
Pls before the whole aim of this thread is lost let's stop all this bashing. The lalla guy who caused it all has even kept mute! Abeg e don do. Kolu kulu temper.

I don't moderate this section for any agency, all possible advice has been given to him, if he can't read and understand this how then can he cope with studying in the UK?

Agency promotion is not allowed here and i'm pretty sure that you know that.
I strongly support Justwise, some ppl ask qstns that hv been over 10 times on this thread, and justwise wuld still hv the patience to respond. We r young Nigerians and I believe we can and should use our abilities to the maximum. If u follow this thread from page 1 to end u don't need any Agent to package any thing fr u. U won't even need an agent to book flight or train! Even if ur parents hv all the money to spend help them save it by not engaging an agent. U CAN do it urself esp if its UK u r going to plssssss.when I submitted last week I was so shocked to see Agents escort their client who were goin for MSc in UK to the VFS office. Haba!

Note that there charges are free.
