Children have he capacity to learn multiple languages and operate in multiple languages if they are trained in them from young.

I grew up going to public school and speaking 2 languages (Yoruba and English).

I still got A* in English in exams provided by British examing board and went home to eat Eba & egusi and watch Fadeyi Oloro and Akere.

Many European kids grow up speaking 3 languages and can attend lecture in English that is not their mother tongue.

Good points. I will say that all the languages are not sparsely dispersed . They are in population clusters . Getting teachers for them will be a localized affair . Of course there will be challenges . The idea is a good one .

If we so hate the colonizers, then ditch their language and make yours the official language but we can’t because there are several tribes in the country. Compelling people learn a regional language when the official or national language is something else doesn’t make any sense.

Lol. You can’t rewrite history. There are native Canadians and Americans whose native language isn’t English. Today these countries are what people call English Speaking Countries. People in Quebec still speak French because France colonized that region. Ya’ll keep fighting what’s not fighting you. It’s not anybody’s fault people can’t communicate with their mother tongue. Thanks for your write up and the perspective. Those natives you mention are still fighting for their rights to be recognized and for their language to be recognized. Years back, my Nigerian English lecturer told us of how some Nigerian languages in Nigeria I slowly becoming extinct, but implementing them in your scools as compulsory subjects will help preserve them.
