Stop focusing on personalities. That is how you ended up with Buhari!

Nigeria's problems are not really about the personalities, it's about the stucture. The overbearing and over centralized center, being the prime problem. Untill this is resolved it does not matter if the pious holy men from the Bible and Quoran come and rule, the country will remain a mess.

This one that wants to employ 30 million people into security outfits and feed them with cassava! I beg don't finish me with laughter this afternoon. Tinubu's candidace is DOA (Dead on arrival) He can't even carry the whole SW, let alone any other region. He should go and sit and rest.

These Aboki people think they are clever. They want to allow Biafea, but just the 5 SE states. The South will then be diminished leaving them to dominate the SW and SS and control the oil wealth. Sorry Aboki we in the SS will never allow that. 8f Biafra go, then that's the end of Nigeria, everyone will go their way.

Igboid:
Nope.
They are not sympathetic to Biafran cause
Opportunistic is a better term.
Most of them are Igbophobic, but they secretly wish we fight for Biafra. They irrationally reason that once we get BIAFRA, they will automatically get their own mini republics off our sweat and blood without having to face the Hausa-Fulanis directly and if we lose they can renegotiate with Hausa-Fulani and seize more of our lands for their minority states as happened in Obiigbo.
They are jokers.

Dafur people and other minorities in Sudan who never joined the South Sudanese to sacrifice for independence were hoping for same thing too.
You know how it ended? They are all still in Sudan today.
If you are hoping to get your republics by being passive and letting Biafrans take the bullets now.
You would 100% have to continue one NIGERIA with the Hausa-Fulanis like those minorities in Sudan found out bitterly.
Please try and restrain this kind of attitude. Biafra will need the good will of other groups in the South to thrive. Best to be strategic. There is nothing to be gained by antagonism your neighbours.
Politics › Re: Reactions: Igbos Are Not Forcing Niger Delta Into Biafra(pics) by bjdon: 9:59am On Jun 06, 2021
It's good to see some Igbos are now thinking strategically and not emotionally. Most of the minority groups in the Niger delta are sympathetic to the cause of Biafra, they just dont want to be part of it. Best to focus on what is achievable now, which is a Biafra of the 5 SE states, and make a success of it.

When it comes to 2023 Igbos will say "Only SE can produce president:

When it comes to Biafra " All SS are part of Biafra "

The North imposed a food blockade on the south. Buhari remained asleep.

Ipob attacked govt installations in the SE. Buhari woke up and found his voice.

If you were given a choice to have your independent state, then why wouldn't you want your own state to yourself? it's like saying Delta became a state because of they were being oppressed by the Binis.
Please dont come and attempt to rewrite history. Iam an Edo man and Iam very well acquainted with our history. The people of the midwest know what they went through in the western region and the have educated their kids accordingly. Edo and Delta will NEVER be part of any Odua nation.

As long as your plans dont include Asaba, Oshimili and Aniocha then no trouble. These three areas have never denied being Igbo
I dont know why Igbo people keep thinking Bini want Anioma. For goodness sake Anioma is not even in Edo state. Trust me we Edos know our borders. We dont go land grabbing like some other tribes
Politics › Re: Deltans, Edo Will Form A United Kingdom With Oduduwa If Nigeria Breaks Up. by bjdon: 8:50am On Jun 03, 2021
This is just comedy rubbish. The people of the midwest voted in a referendum to leave the western region due to Yoruba oppression. We will never be in a Yoruba nation. If Nigeria splits The old midwest will form it's own nation. If the Anioma Igbos decide to join Biafra in a referendum they will be free to do so. Edo and delta people are intertwined culturally and can form a stable and viable Bendel Republic.

Actually, immediately, Ikwerre, Okirika, Kalabari, Ogoni says no.

Biafra is dead in Rivers state, they can't take Bayelsa, Akwaibom, Cross Rivers and Delta cos Urhobo and Itsekiri people will always vomit them out, I wonder why they can't focus on their five states
Maybe its because they know their 5 landlocked states are simply not large enough for them to have a viable nation.

If you conduct a referendum now for Rivers state people to join your Biafra agenda,j bet you you will have a 80%(No) and 20%(yes)

You don't force people to be with you in a relationship, the same way you lots claiming that you were forced to be part of this country is the same way you guys want to force other states to be part of you.Hypocrisy is in total display here
You have said it all. I find it amazing that many Igbos on NL dont seen to appreciate the damage they are doing there own cause with the constant chest beating about how the SS must be part of their Biafra.

Atiku Abubakar may be a crook.
But, I think he will make a better president than PMB due to his liberal views.
He is not a fanatic.
He is abreast with the sociopolitical developments
When will Nigerians learn? How much suffering do you people need to endure before your eyes open? It does not matter who is president, the current structure of the nation is totally unworkable. Atiku, Tinubu, Peter Obi,....it really does not matter, all would preside over the same ship of decay. The focus of all progressives North and South must be on restructuring the country before 2023, else that election will be nothing more than changing the crew on a sinking ship.

All these Edo guys trying hard to annex Igbo speaking groups of South South as one delusional bini descendant is nothing but laughable.
You can get all your sponsors from your Oba palace, but know this, your effort is in vain. The Midwest you are banking on, was made possible by two Igbo sons, Zik and Osadebey, with the later becoming her first Primer. Anioma is a conglomerate of Igbo speaking groups found in Delta North, which a bini man cannot communicate in any basic format; and very soon, she will have a state of her own, joined to South East, then we go see were this una mouth and gragra go end.
Abi no be this Nigeria? we go cruise am to the end.
Very greedy fellows that cannot stand on their own but looking on whom to latch on, in the name of fabricated bini descendant. mtcheeww!

Note:
Bring a man from Ika, and bring a man from bini and Igbo, let them speak to each other, and let see among the three wich will understand each other. This experiment will lay to rest this irrational claim to a people that are different from you in all ramification, except may be, a few imported practices.
What are you smoking? When has Edo every tried to annex any anioma Igbos. If Nigeria breaks up tomorrow it's my prayer that everybody returns to the tent O Isreal. Edo will be a small nation of people with a common ancestry. No true born Edo man, wants to have an Edo nation that contains any midwest igbos. Trust me we are not interested.

Edo state will join Niger-delta or the Oodua Republic...they don't have what it takes to be alone....oshimole and Obaseki has finished the State
Is that so? It's always funny to see people come on the internet and type out absolute crap. Here are the top 10 richest states in Nigeria:
Table of Contents
1. Lagos State ($33.68 Billion)
2. Rivers State ($21.17 Billion)
3. Delta state ($ 16.75 billion)
4. Oyo state ($16.12 billion)
5. Imo State ($14.21 billion)
6. Kano state ($12.39 billion)
7. Edo state ($11.89 billion)
8. Akwa Ibom region ($11 billion)
9. Ogun state ($11 billion)
10. Kaduna state ($10.33 billion)
11. Cross River state ($9.29 billion)
12 Abia state ($8.68 billion)
13. Ondo region ($8.41 billion)
14. Osun state ($7.28 billion)
15. Benue region ($6.86 Billion)
16. Anambra State ($6.76 Billion)
17. Katsina State ($5.99 billion)
18. Niger State ($6 Billion)
19. Borno State ($5.18 Billion)
20. Plateau State ($5.15 Billion)

Edo state is at number 7 is above all the SE states except Imo. Edo has a population of approx 5 million, with numerous untapped resources. We will be fine. Igbos should worry about their Biafra and leave the rest of us alone

Madam Ngozi managed our economy and grew it to the biggest in Africa. Aunty Kemi kept things running smoothly. Now this Aboki woman is in charge she is borrowing left right and centre meanwhile the currency is collapsing, prices are skyrocketing and the people are dying. Aboki in charge of security, the nation is not secured. Aboki in charge of the economy, the economy is crashing. Anywhere you put Aboki in charge you will always see failure. They are all products of quota system, lacking fundamental intelligence.
Politics › Re: Problems Envisaged With Secession By Qaasim Lawal by bjdon: 9:05am On May 28, 2021
chidubem20:
Problems envisaged with secession.

Some people have been clamouring for secession lately. Personally, I see little chance of that happening. While I am not interested in joining issues with anybody over secession, I still feel pressed to highlight some dangers I foresee. In the Nigerian context, there are some problems I envisage in the event of any region secceding. Pls read through, I've made it concise.

a. Any such region will struggle to achieve recognition from the major powers. I mean members of the UN security council, EU, AU and even the non aligned movement (NAM). Don't be deceived, no country would rush to accord recognition to such an 'emergency state'. There are diplomatic risks for any country contemplating such, because Nigeria is not a lightweight in the diplomatic world.

b. The journey to real democracy would take another eternity . This point is self explanatory. We have the Nigerian blood running in us. With the usual sit-tight syndrome and corruption, real democracy would not take hold. It's safe to assume that a dictatorship disguised as a democracy, like in Syria, would be the result.

c. Discrimination and marginalisation would still be a problem. We would still discriminate amongst each other and some would be marginalised. Because each region isn't strictly homogeneous but comprised of different ethnicities. Definitely, there would be winners and there would be losers.

d. It's highly probable secession will be an harbinger to bitter ethnic wars like is happening in South Sudan.

e. Religious crisis : This is a silent danger lurking in the shadows especially in the south.....region, if it were to succeed. It's lurking in the shadows of secession.

f. Secession basically, would translate into embarking on the arduous Nigerian journey, starting all over again.

g. Engender racism: Northerners won't be welcomed in the south. And vice versa.

h. Lastly, wherever you go, you will still be identified as a Nigerian and TREATED AS SUCH. If you like, call yourself a Biafran or Oduduwan, it would make no difference.

Secession has some serious negative fall-outs. Let's pray we are able to work out our differences and continue to remain one.

Qaasim Lawal.
Why would the UN not recognize a sovereign nation? That makes no rational sense. Yes there will be other problems as typical of any African nation, but at least the issue of being dominated by Fulani jihadists with a history of wiping out other ethnic nations will no longer by there.

No more threat!
No more insistence on forcing every Nigerian to accept their normadic life

The North will be fighting tooth and nail and scheming to distupt the apparent unity. I hope the south in general continue to hold onto that belive that their common enemy is the North lording abominations over the country as a whole and the need for such to stop for the country to move forward.
We must all do our bit. When we see any threads on social media where southerners are attacking each other, let's all endeavour to step in and remind them who the REAL ENEMY is.

In the past SW governors would say one thing, SS governors say something else and SE governors another thing. Now on this topic the South has spoken with one voice and the North has trembled.
I hope all those of you cyber warriors who come here to shout 'Afonja this' and 'Ipob that' can see the power of UNITY. We in the south need to bury the old arguments for now. SE, SW, SS and middle belt all have a common agenda, if we unite we can achieve it. The only power the Fulani have over us is our own disunity.

I am not Igbo, but I fully agree with your post. Too many Nigerians simply lack strategic thinking ability. There are tiny countries in Europe that are quite wealthy. Szie is not a an essential pre-req for development. A highly educated and industrious people can build a rich and wealthy country.
