King44: bro the earlier we stop blaming past leaders and hold the present responsible for his action and inaction the better
4 years is not enough to at least give us a sense of direction abi, have you forgotten he spent almost all of that four years touring UK and other countries either for treatment other things, while Nigerians were complaining of how things were getting bad in the country but he showed less concern until it got to this level
bro, be realistic if you have a new boss at your work place and after four good years things are either stagnant or getting worse, even though you can't voice out won't you wish he quits before his incompetency start affecting you?
be realistic, what if you have a brother in the village and he was murdered by herdsmen and confirmed won't you hold the govt responsible?
while other African countries leaders take a bow when their incompetency is obvious ours thinks if he doesn't rule for 8 years it is a disgrace thus held on to power with his teeth and fingers
bro don't be sentimental because you are making it under buhari The reason why I am having this argument is because someone decided to hate only Buhari for underperformance while the other leaders are merely to be criticized. That is very unrealistic. |

I think he is presently the highest goalscorer in this tournament. You tried. Perhaps, that was your own ambition.
However, I must lament our poor sporting culture. With so much emphasis placed on football, it is really painful to see that we are not dominating the game in Africa, at least. Look at South Africa, they have a strong Rugby and female netball team. The netball team is ranked 5th in the world. They also have a strong presence in cricket, long jump, and swimming. But Nigeria, football is our major sport and yet we can't even maintain consistency over at least 5 years. This is sad.
The sport ministry should invest in other sports, especially cricket which I played back in university. Then swimming, we have a lot of Ilaje and other Niger Deltans who practically live in water and can swim naturally well. Why are we not harnessing these potentials? Must every spare change go into football with no warming results to even show for it? What are we doing with foreign coaches for our male and female national teams? What have foreign coaches done for us? Aside Westahoff, we went to France 98, South Africa 2010, and Russia 2018 with foreign coaches but couldn't even reach a quarter finals all those times. Why are we wasting funds unnecessarily? |

CAN says it is with the Church, not with Biodun.
People should be able to see that a fight against a pastor is not the same as a fight against the church. Biodun stepping down should not amount to COZA crashing except if my fears are confirmed that COZA is all about Biodun and not Jesus.
A true Church should be able to hold firm if a pastor goes off the pulpit indefinitely. But many of these Pentecostal churches are all about their Daddy GOs and senior pastors.
I support CAN in her solidarity with COZA members. However, they must ensure that the rape allegations against Biodun is given the full attention it deserves. The body of Christ demands an explanation. |

Rohr should not be allowed back into the country. If Pinnick likes him so much, he can go with him to Germany for all I care.
As for Akpeyi, one would expect a goalkeeper with years of experience under his belt to exhibit a level of confidence befitting of such years of experience. I mean Akpeyi has been around a Nigerian team since 2005. He was at the Olympics in 2008. It is no wonder he was second fiddle to Vanzekin on both occasions. Akpeyi is better off catching aparo in Igbo Irunmole. |

Bye bye Nigeria
I go off my TV That is not the starting lineup. Rohr maintains his starting lineup from against the South African team. So Chukwueze is starting and Mikel would be on the bench. |

Xmen149: you sabi ..Algeria has weak deference and has been looking great in front of weak attacks ,Côte d'Voire proved it as they were consistently in their 18yrs box mostly through the right wing.
our concern should be the center backs as the Algerian attacks love attacking through the CB mostly
if we can cut off their the supply from midfield and tighten our defense...clinical finishers will be needed in the box to make all available chances count....
i believe they will look to cage iwobi and stuff ighalo out
so i believe employing the last tactics against soutafrica will work with a little bit of surprise (like a striker they dnt know well to be able to cage he will even switch play with iwobi when caged filling them up with confussion ,then bring in ighalo later).
"for us this a clear game of massive defend and huge attack" You made absolute sense, bro. |

Atiku is a more liberal person that is open to people, tribe, religion tolerance... Igbos massively voted for him cuz he is an avenue to remove buhari...
For me, I personally hate buhari with serious passion for disunity of Nigeria that was beginning to experience unity...
I hate tinubu soo much cuz..he is very corrupt, deceitful and corny...
Don't be surprised : tinubu will become president and in his campaign promise to un proscribe IPOB as terrorist...just to look like peacemaker...while he is the architect..of "Igbos must leave lagos'....
Same way...I hate obiano...for being a mediocre...he does not to nothing as a state governor....only eye service....stuffs Are you trying to say that Yar'Adua was more popular than Buhari? Did you know Yar'Adua before 2007? |

beetown: Suarez is a thief. A real football villain. From catching a goal bound opportunity against Ghana in 2010 world cup Biting Ivanovic in 2013 Biting Chiellini in 2014
But how can someone shout for penalty because keeper saved ball with his hands in the penalty box? Suarez has APC blood The bold was a very smart thing that Suarez did. Better a penalty than a goal. Penalty can be missed but that ball was going into the net. If Suarez had not sacrificed himself, Uruguay would have been beaten. As you know, the Ghanaians threw away the penalty. So, Suarez was a Uruguayan hero on that day. |

King44: reason why I can never hate those passed leaders but only blame them is because non of them was as worse worse as buhari, yaradua no complain at all, obasanjo the country was in peace cos he is an action and wise man, gej has good intentions but surrounded by hyaenas bedside he could not manage the killing in the north by Boko I blame in n major reason he lost his election against buhari but at least in return he gave us true democracy fast forward buhari that I had much believe in o under him snake dey steal money, monkey dey swallow money, rat dey chop money, traveling out on a daily like a slay papa, using the countries wealth to teat himself medical expenses he can't afford before he got to govt besides I don't blame him for that he has to be healthy to rule, he did a quite a good job with boko but replaced with Fulani herds men who we now see as legitimate killers, robbers, rapist etc cos of their atrocities, buhari can't do anything because they are is family member instead he said it is ...... I can't remember the name he called it, he could not condemn the atrocities and discharge dss, sss to fish out the bad eggs while trying to persuade the elder to talk to his people to be peaceful as they were before instead he brought Ruga which proved the theory of islamization of the nation kind of true even if the theory is false but with the way he has been acting recently it shows.... probably there is an hidden agenda, I don't feel we have a president anymore in this country
be sincere are you happy with the killings?, are you happy that under his watch the country looks like a jungle? where one can die by bullet, illegally arrested etc if no then give me a reason why I shouldn't hate home
if you are not competent to run are country or the people don't like your system of governing, change the system or take a bow n leave it won't kill you You don't have any point. How do you prove that Buhari is worse than Obasanjo? Buhari has only used 4 years and you already think he is the worst and should be hated while the likes of Obasanjo were there for 8 years but did nothing to manage our resources well enough to even make us an industrialized country. Tell me how Obasanjo, Goodluck and even Yar'Adua are better than Buhari? Did electricity improve and then depreciate under Buhari? Was Nigeria industrialized and become a Third World Country under Buhari? If I remember vividly, Boko Haram grew under Obasanjo and became a terror under Jonathan. Under Jonathan, the Fulani milia became one of the deadliest terrorist groups in the world. As for human rights abuses, was it not under Obasanjo that Odi people were massacred? How many Senate president were hurtled out of seat in the most glaring manipulation of the NASS in the history of our country? Buhari may have underperformed in the books of many Nigerians, but to hate him on that score while merely criticising our other failed leaders does not only reek of hypocrisy but is also beyond reasonable. |

King44: in as mush as I agree the east doesn't like Islam I think the major reason why east hate him mind you not only the east reasonable population in SW do is because of his incompetency, backwardness, clueless nature, I don't don't care attitude to be sincere when he first entered for the first 3 weeks we felt he is the right one who would change things for good there was stable electricity, killings and crime reduced everything just seems perfect no easterner or anybody complained nairaland forum is my witness you can check if you have the time, everything seem perfect the way it should be, just when we thought the saviour is here booom !!! in our face body language finished thing started getting worse herds men that were seen as peaceful became killers and one idiot in the north said it is vengeance bla bla bla vengeance for what the entire country o only one tribe that entered the country tru d backdoor is now holding millions of pple hostage bubu kept quiet no action no talk, to make the matter worse he rigged himself n introduced Ruga n u expect people to be silent, I dislike every bit of buhari with passion I am a SWesterner You say you hate him because of incompetence, backwardness and cluelessness? But facts show that the hate was there even before Buhari had the opportunity to display his supposed incompetence. If you say you hate him because of incompetence, how come you don't hate the other leaders we have had. If the other leaders were competent, Nigeria would not be in the position we are in today. None of these leaders from 1999 could provide us stable electricity and you think it is wise decision to mark one of them out for hate because of poor performance? The obvious fact is that the hate for Buhari is baseless. If it is a sincere hate, then all the leaders we have had since 1999 should be equally hated for obvious nonperformance. |

But somehow, they always manage to score. Their defence is not anywhere good too as the Ivorians kept splitting it open with fun. They are not great in reality, but they have managed to score in every game. And considering how jittery our goalkeeper can get, I can bet on Algeria getting at least a goal against us. However, I am very certain that they can't beat us in regulation time. |
