ityP: 2014, I got admitted to study Medical Lab Science with connections from the provost of Federal Med lab school and many well known lecturers in the university even though my waec and jamb were excellent (2 As, 5 B3, 1 C4 and a score of 246 in Jamb).
I don't even know who or what was directly involved. . But when I started, I was very unmotivated. I really can't tell why. Maybe wrong associations, maybe cos it wasn't medicine, I don't know.
After the first semester of 100 level, I left the university. One of the lecturers who aided my admission begged me to rescind my decision or at least to defer it. In her exact words, 'I'd regret my decision'. Still I left without deferring.
My widowed mum was terribly heart broken. I was hers and my late dad's pride. I was the most intelligent of her three kids. I remember telling her that 'School na scam, if I do business, I go make am quicker'. She always told me and my siblings that we weren't cut out for business life. Still I ventured into photography. Spent 6 months in training to become a pro photographer. In 2015, I bought my own Nikon D3200 camera and a second hand hp laptop. I started meager jobs. I was earning small cash here and there. To be a top photographer tho, I needed equipments; a good Speedlite, good zoom and prime lenses, not my ordinary 18-55mm kit lens, soft boxes, and so on. And these would cost money. Money I didn't have. My camera and laptop were the only thing I could afford then.
Few months later, I started regreting my decision of leaving school. I would see my former coursemates in town and they'd ask questions on why I left, but I really couldn't provide any tangible reason for leaving. One even showed me some of my first semester grades and I was almost in tears 'cause I did very well. I was almost getting depressed late 2015. 2016 came and it started just as dull. But just before the closing date for Jamb registration was due, I bought a form. Same course (Medical Laboratory Science), same university. This time around, I would do everything low key without asking for anyone's assistance. I wrote jamb and got a score of 259. I checked on jamb portal when admission status began to be checked and lo and behold, I was admitted. I called my mom and even though she was happy for me, she told me, she wasn't gonna sponsor my admission this time. I was heartbroken but I can't blame her to be very honest. But then, we started hearing news that our admission would be cancelled because of accreditation issues. In fact, our names weren't included in the school's admission portal. School started and still, no news. But I was convinced God was giving me a second chance, so I started attending lectures even though we didn't know our fate. Two weeks before exams, our accreditation issues were resolved and our names finally appeared on the school's portal. Medical lab sci, biochem, and slt had this problem. So two weeks was added for us to receive short additional lectures, while others were writing exams. That was how my second chance began.
I'm presently in 300 level. Today, my former coursemates would be inducted as MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS. I couldn't sleep at all. I would not go to the induction as I may not be able to control the tears. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN AMONG THE INDUCTING STUDENTS, BUT I THREW IT ALL AWAY. The most painful words anyone can utter in life are, "HAD I KNOWN". Don't make costly mistakes that would make you say these words!!! We all have one regret or the other in life. It is good that you have been able to return to school and are now almost through. That is all that matters now. That your former mates are getting inducted does not and should not matter to you. Life is a personal race. No be who finish school first go first make am. |

You are watching it firsthand with no part missed on DStv or GOtv You are forgetting that even with GOTV and DSTV, you still need electricity to watch matches. The last time I bought fuel to watch a Super Eagles' match, I was disappointed. It was a match against Egypt where Salah scored an equilizer against us to end the match 1-1. It was a crucial match. I will only buy fuel to watch an AFCON match if it is the final match and Nigeria is involved. |

With 120k you can get a bike and use it as okada. Even if you can't ride, you can learn. You can become a home tutor. You can start a small church for a start. Hustle is hustle.
The man may not be lazy, he may be one of those guys that select work. And because his wife footed the bills, he was further encouraged to be selective. If his wife was unemployed and hunger wired him, no one would teach him before he goes out to hustle.
That is why I like myself. I have a job but I am not comfortable because there is no job security. There is nothing I cannot drive (keke napep, okada, trailer,). If worse comes to worst, I will buy keke and go and register at that garage around Airport Road in Lagos. |

ericmor: Did you listen to the commentator? Yes the rule was there before but now one of the keeper legs is to remain on the line why the penalty is been played. Like I already said, they had 22 goal attempts why we had 2 with no goal on target and u are talking of bias and France are the host nation you know and you know the advantage of any host nation if you watch football very well. France deserve to win the match and they didn’t cheat us cus the ref followed the rules of the game. If it was like the game between esparance Tunis and their opponent in the final second leg which the ref refused to use the var which they claimed was not working, that is a cheat All those goal attempts don't mean nothing, same as ball possession. What matters is game plan. We have seen teams lose in spite of impressive match stats. Some teams sit back and attack on the counter. Teams like this hardly have impressive stats but always have many victories. If the French ladies were so deserving of victory, they would have scored a clear-cut goal rather than wait for a penalty to save their ass. Nigeria came with a game plan to be defensive, rather than offensive. They wanted a draw at best. France wanted a win and so came in offensive. That is why the stat reads that way. |
Sports › Re: Reactions To France 1-0 Nigeria. by BluntBoy(m): 7:28am On Jun 18, 2019 |
ericmor: What did the referee do? It was a clear penalty which the referee didn’t bother to call till she was called by the VAR officials and yes the penalty needed to be replayed cus the keeper legs were off the goal line and is also a yellow card offense. That’s just the new rule of the female World Cup and beside our girls were just defensive today which made France played all the game but couldn’t score. We should have been beating 5-0 or more if not for the defensive game we played The officials were obviously bias in their bid to glamorize France. The rule of staying on the goal line during a penalty is not a new one but they are randomly enforced. In men's football, keepers go off their lines many a times and the penalty stands. Once in a while, the referee wants a retake. In this case, it was enforced to give France a maximum 9 point and raise their profile. Decisions like this are better given early in the match. But when a team has struggled to keep a clean sheet, and you now make a call against them and even want a retake, you are not being fair. Refereeing is not totally about the rules. Sometimes, it is about common sense and personal judgment. |

lexy2014: According 2u
We have agreed that ur Mr. C is buhari & here u said buhari probed d 1993 elections but later u said
So we c how u are jumping from pillar to post. Making claims at one end but when I confront u run to another end to try to change what u said. Since u said Mr. C(buhari) probed d 1993 elections, I asked u several times
U are yet 2 answer d question. Who is now ignorant?
U are d one who brought 2 words into d discussion: "stole" and "robbed". It wasn't me. These words have implications which u couldn't defend. When a person is robbed& his property stolen, what do they do? Am sure u can't even answer that with all ur "democratic expertise". U will avoid d question.
Since u said this:
So pls when did Abiola report his mandate stolen? Was it in 2019? Have u ever heard of what they call a cold case? A cold case is a crime or an accident that has not yet been fully solved. By this definition, does June 12 fall into that category? Am sure once again, u will avoid answering this despite being an expert on d subject matter.
I believe my English was very unambiguous
Pls look at this below& c whether it is d same thing with d claims u made above
When someone says d point u made is irrelevant 2d discussion, is it d same as refusing 2 accept that power isn't static? 4 someone who is so knowledgeable, am surprised that English language & comprehension is a big problem here
I also asked u these below but u are running away from it like Usain bolt on a 100m Olympic dash
According 2u
Here u are again using d word "stolen". Now if ur property is "stolen", what would u consider 2b justice? What is d ideal thing 2b done 4 someone whose property was "stolen"? I have asked u this several times& am sure u will still avoid answering it.
On d one hand, u say it isn't "Buhari's responsibilities to retrieve stolen mandates" but u have been saying "buhari righted d wrong of June 12". How has June 12 been righted when what was stolen wasn't recovered & returned 2d owner? How was d wrong righted when d people responsible 4d "stealing" that u talked about weren't apprehended & punished? If ur property was stolen would u not expect that it will b recovered & returned 2u or at least d culprits dealt with? Bro, I really have a very tedious job, so I am going to make it as simple as possible. Buhari cannot step down and install Kingibe to begin exercising MKO's mandate. Democracy does not work like that This is my last post to you. If you like reply. That is your headache. How can I be schooling you on democracy free of charge Unfollows thread |

You people confuse choices with tribal and religious sentiments and pure hate which is what these people have for Buhari. You can find two Yorubas divided between Buhari and Atiku but it would be hard to find two Igbos that way. They are more likely to be heading in the same direction and anyone heading in a different direction is very much likely to be ostracised. It is the very reason why PDP has become a sort of an Igbo national party even though I wonder what this party has done for them since 2003. I am sure if the devil contests under PDP against Buhari, the devil will get block votes from the Southeast. |

lexy2014: If Abiolas mandate is actualised as with d analogy, is that d same thing as replacement? Replacement means that Abiola or Kingibe will have to present himself again to seek 4 another mandate which is what u suggested earlier. How in d world do u "replace" June 12? Pls here's my take on ur "replacement" theory.
Once again if u are "robbed" and all d police does is to designate d day u were robbed a public holiday, would u say d wrong done u has been righted? When u use d words "rob" and "stolen", then everyone whose property is stolen expects recovery by d police. That's y I asked u earlier if u are aware that Abiola was offered a "replacement" b4 he died. To that u have remained silent.
If u were "robbed& ur property "stolen", u will expect that even if ur property isn't recovered, but that d culprits who robbed& stole from u are brought to justice. That is what righting a wrong entails with regards 2a person being "robbed"& "stolen" from. If that is d case, then how did buhari restore d June 12 mandate and how has he brought d culprits that were responsible 4 "stealing" &"robbing" Abiola of his mandate to justice that u now say he has righted d wrong? Except u are telling me that d meaning of "stolen" and "robbed" has changed or that d expectation concerning justice as regards these wrongs have changed.
All ur grammar about power not being static or whether it is in continuum is irrelevant. Pls read below my take on ur Mr.A, Mr.B& Mr. C analogy & get d points raised.
Also asked u this but I don't c an answer
Can u show me where I told u this below. What's d relevance of this?
Once again if we assume Abiola is Mr B is Abiola & Mr. C buhari, at what point in d history Nigeria did Abiola get "legitimate power"?
If u have been robbed, what should b done 4u? Would u say justice has been done by an official announcement acknowledging officially that u were robbed? Is that how to right a wrong with regards to robbery?
Once again, u seem 2 have lost ur voice on this point Bro, your argument is laughable. You refuse to regard the fact that power is not static, so, how can you even understand what is happening here? Your police analogy was wrong, but I indulged you just to see how far you would go with it before goofing. First of all, the analogy is weak because Buhari is not the police. The police is responsible for retrieving stolen properties, but Buhari is not responsible for retrieving stolen mandates. Second, you cannot lose your car in 1993 and report in 2019 and expect the police to open an investigation. So, your analogy falls on its own head and supports my notion that power is not static. It is not one of Buhari's responsibilities to retrieve stolen mandates. With every argument you make, you expose your ignorance about democracy. Supposing Buhari decides to even open a full-scale probe on those behind the June 12 annullment, it is still people like you who would complain that he is wasting money on a probe when he should be improving the economy. Like I wrote earlier, Buhari has righted a wrong by commemorating June 12. Perhaps, he can decide to probe the issue but to what ends? With the myriad of problems facing the country, you are demanding that time and money be wasted on something that is not even among our most pressing issues at hand. |

lexy2014: What is d physical something that has 2b given in order to appreciate someone?
Once again, ur analogy is way off. If we assume Mr. C is buhari, at what time in d history of nigeria did he "probe" d 1993 elections? Can u pls enlighten us on when that happened? If we also assume Mr. B is Abiola, according 2u he was "robbed" & u say his mandate was "stolen".
If u were robbed and ur car stolen & then u go 2d police 2 make a report, u will expect d police to investigate ur complaint. U will also expect that ur car b recovered and returned 2u& d culprits caught& prosecuted. Even if both can't b done, u expect at least one of d above 2b done so u will have a sense of justice. With this in mind, how has buhari "righted d wrong"? If d police just acknowledge that u were robbed& that ur car was stolen, does that amount to "righting d wrong"? In d case of Abiola who was robbed& his mandate stolen, what was returned 2 him& who was punished for robbing him?
I didn't tell u that Abiolas mandate can replace buharis mandate. Earlier u said that "they should "devise' an act 4d purpose of actualising June 12". That was ur suggestion not mine and buhari had enough time 2 push for this long b4 d elections since it was him who brought up d issue of June 12 last year.
U keep saying buhari righted d wrong by making June 12 a public holiday but d question u have refused 2 answer is did Abiola die, loose his wife, businesses & access to his kids just because of a public holiday? Y did Abiola die?
Also, has buhari righted d wrong he did in 1983 that he now wants 2 right d wrong that was done by IBB in 1993? If my car is stolen, I expect it to be recovered, but not from someone who was not the one who stole it. If my car is never recovered, but given enough publicity and search, I cannot ask the police boss to give me his own car as replacement. Buhari did not steal MKO's mandate. Analogy is not to be taken literally. If you can't get the essense of an analogy, then it is not my fault. The essence of that analogy is that power is not static. It happens in a continuum. Mr C has a legitimate power just as Mr B got before he was robbed. Mr C was not the one that robbed Mr B of his power. However, Mr C rights a wrong by acknowledging officially that Mr B was robbed and so he makes the election that Mr B won the real election marking a transition into democracy. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Renames National Stadium Abuja After MKO Abiola by BluntBoy(m): 4:48pm On Jun 16, 2019 |
lexy2014: D definition u gave on mandate, is it only applicable to buhari and not applicable to Abiolas election of 1993? If u are saying Nigerians gave their mandate to buhari in 2019, then who gave Abiola his mandate in 1993? Was it aliens from planet mars or was it Zimbabweans?
So if u say Abiolas mandate was stolen, then what exactly has buhari done that u say he righted d wrong? If stealing was d wrong done 2 Abiola according 2u, then a restoration of what was stolen should b d logical course of action in righting d wrong. So what did buhari restore to Abiola?
If u say that "in democracy government is installed through voting", u are invariably saying Abiola govt should b installed because he was voted for. So u are only corroborating d point I have been making.
When u say "Buhari did what the likes of Obasanjo and GEJ did not do", its quite funny. because am wondering how buhari has become a hero over other heads of state because he made June 12 democracy day when he was d same person who truncated a democratic govt in 1983, arrested virtually all d politicians in d 2nd republic (some of who later died like Ambrose Alli of Bendel State) & up till date, he isn't remorseful about what happened in 1983. Shehu Shagari died without Buhari apologising him. Y didn't he right his wrong he made in 1983 if u want 2 begin 2 compare him with obj& GEJ?
Lastly, did Abiola loose his life, loose kudirat, loose his businesses & access to his children just so that June 12 will b made a public holiday? Buhari has righted the wrong by acknowledging the authenticity of June 12. To the carnal mind, everything must be give and take. But to the deeper mind, you don't need to give something physical to appreciate someone. Acknowledging June 12 commemorates the struggle for democracy which was achieved in the elections of June 12. A mandate is the same but given to a person at a particular period in time. That is why a Buhari mandate cannot be replaced with an MKO mandate. There is no such transfer of power (mandate) in any constitution. MKO got power from the people through an election but the military administration at that time stole this power. Buhari has also got power through an election. He can only transfer his power to his Vice either through delegation or resignation. He doesn't have the power to reinstall MKO's mandate. Between the time MKO got his mandate and Buhari got his, we have had two military rules and 3 civilian rules. The present government decides to commemorate the struggle for democracy by recognizing a vital actor, and you are asking that this government throw away its own mandate. Let me give you an analogy. Mr A and Mr B contest for an election in 1993. Mr A wins. However in 2000, there is a new government headed by Mr C who probes the election of 1993 and sees that Mr B was robbed and should have won. According to you, Mr C should hand over his own hard earned mandate to Mr B? |
