use naija own na as that shows child has permit to reside in naija. If you prefer to use US, scan and upload naija while you submit US passport

The funds can either be in the main applicant or partner's account. The only clause is, if she is applying alone, the funds must be in her account. While funds for dependants can either be in the main applicant or the spouse.

You can either request info from UKVI (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/requests-for-personal-data-uk-visas-and-immigration/request-personal-information-held-by-uk-visas-and-immigration) or give consent to the uni to obtain the info they need.

If refusal no be biggie, ask uni you are happy to give consent. If you however prefer to have a copy, go for the former

Great Minds here, I have been following this trend as a guest for some days now. I got an unconditional offer at Ulster university, made 50% payment, sent my TB cert but at the point of issuing my CAS, i was asked to send copies of my UK and US refusal letters, I have for US but my UK had been thrashed since i never knew it would be requested for at anypoint in my life.

I sent that of US but I was told to present that of UK even though I told them during CAS interview that I thrashed it long ago. Now I got a mail that CAS will not be issued without that.

Please I need assistance on how to get out of this quagmire. I need help right now. @justwise, Lagosismyhome and other great minds please help

The only document to show is proof s/he was resident for 6 months or more. And best you state this in 'Additional information' part of the application form

One of my dependant recently returned from the UK where they lived as resident and by such is exempted from IOMs Tuberculous test. What if pregnancy was during school, what if one gets hit by a bus nko? You making it sound like re-sit is terrible and CAS cannot be issued.

You are miss-applying that rule, if you came to the UK pregnant and during your studies you gave birth and as a result you failed one or two modules or unable to finish your course then that got nothing to do with covid, if you tested positive or school activities got affected because of covid then the rule applies.

Giving birth is not part of your academic program and it got nothing to do with the school

You are right but this exactly proves my point. UKVI exempted because there's a global pandemic where students are impacted financially, mentally, medically, psychological you name it. What then happens to for instance giving birth during school. Are you saying they will discriminate against her when the uni knows quite well they can extend her visa using the re-sit option and can prove academic progression? And don't forget that the bolded was implemented because of those who purposely fail their module. You and I know quite well that if it can be proven beyond doubt that it's not the case, UKVI wouldn't have issues extending.

I don't know anyone who's re-sat. I am certain some students have gone through the re-sitting process with no impact but you cannot say they will not issue CAS. Plus as it stands, this temp rule overwrites the current rule as the impact of covid on individual cases are different.

Let's just hope no one repeats or have to re-sit a module

Your screenshot demonstrated that, Its says and i paraphrase ... If a student was unable to complete his/her course because of covid then an exemption can be made... but with the lockdown over, legal rules and restrictions removed and Vaccine available your chances of using covid as an excuse is diminishing gradually.

Academic progression still remain the same...moving from one level to another or changing course at the same level.

This is not what Academic progression means. Decided to look it up UKVI site and hope this clears it. New rules seems to have exempted from demonstrating academic progression.

How many students have the money to go through this process and still return to complete the course?

This is mentally and emotionally exhausting for any student.

Obviously no one is planning to fail any module but in the event that sh!t happens (eg medical emergency), what steps will one need to take.

I applied for my PSW in Naija @bolded is new to me so basically 'Resit without attendance' wouldn't work in this case.

Hmm better dont plan to fail any module. From what I saw happened on facebook, this guy had a resit and because of that, he couldn't do his research or rather he was not allowed to do his research at the time.

Now he is ready for his research but he has few months left. There is no way he can complete that research within the stipulated time. He asked for visa extension but the school turned it down saying he can do his research from his home country. Meanwhile psw issupposed to be processed before the student visa expires while still in the uk.

Obviously, once he goes back to his home country he wont get psw again.

Yes they are. You also need to proof that that you're in a genuine and subsisting relationship by submitting additional documents like pictures, joint accounts, exchange of communication etc

'Resit with attendance' may have some implications like academic progression but will not affect PSW and the issuing of CAS shouldn't be a problem. There is a reason why CAS has the resit option so as to issue CAS to such affected students.

'Resit without attendance' will have visa curtailed but has the option to apply for a short term study visa to write the module. At the end of the day, it's all about successfully completing ones course and be eligible for PSW.

Repeating a module has implications, if you are repeating a module during the final year and your visa runs out some schools will not issue you another CAS to extend your visa, you have to leave the country and apply for short term visa so as to resit the module.

This policy varies from school to school, so people should check their university's policy regarding this because it can be very hash if you are unfortunate to fall into this category especially if you are repeating 'without 'attendance'


The little i have written here is not even enough to explain the severity of this subject hence the need to avoid repeating any module.

I've met 2 mums who had babies while in school and successfully completed their courses. They had additional support (family members) so as to attend their classes. It can be really expensive if you do not have that kind of support.

I don't know about airlines but usually visa wouldn't be an issue

I am about to submit my application for Jan 2022 session to Salford University, however, I am in a dilemma whether to go ahead or not. The reason is that I am currently pregnant and will be due in January 2022. My concerns are:
1. Do I stand a chance of having my visa approved before November (all things being equal) to enable me to travel before I reach 36 weeks as most airlines don't allow pregnant mothers beyond 36/37weeks to board?
2. Being a new mum and attending schools, how does this work out for whoever has gone through this path before?

Repeating a model doesn't make a student miss out on PSW. Eligibility is as long as the course has been successfully completed

You will struggle to juggle pregnancy and full time education, you are going to miss second semester and probably repeat a model..missing out on PSW as a result..think about your decision carefully.
