A degree in the UK already meets your English Language requirements. It's always been a requirement. Fynebouy: Dear E-fam,
Una well done. Good work you are all doing here. God bless you/us.
I am putting together my documents for externsion and I am very confused over this proof of English competency. When I applied for the visa in 2016, it wasn't a requirement. Or was it? As I did not write the English Language tests. Is it compulsory? Are there routes to exemption I might have used then? Please help me out.
By the way, I had my first degree in Nigeria, and my MSc in Aberdeen. I look forward to clarification. |

You already know the answer but looking for a shortcut . I'm afraid you have to leave the UK and apply from your country of origin. Tier 4 to Dependant visa doesn't have to. cerezo: I need info from experienced folks. Is it possible to convert Tier 4 Dependent into Tier 4 General without leaving the UK. By this, I mean after a spouse must have stayed in UK as a dependent, and then try to enroll in school after the other spouse must have rounded off in school. I appreciate your responses. |

Assuming you uploaded and submitted yourself, it would have generated a checklist of documents to submit. The exact same solicitor go use. It's not really about wasting money. It's just a simple and straightforward application. If to say application get comma, solicitor will def be required. If you wan do next application, read guidance and this forum with questions. There's immigrationboard as well. I'm sure ppl will be willing to answer your questions/queries. If you still wan use solicitor, just hire me . wallg123: Thanks for the quick responds ... Na my wife wey dey ginger me solicitor oh... Uno Naija no dey want waste money, but e be like say this solicitor head dey inside house... |

1. No you don't need to take photocopies. 2. I don't think you will get an acknowledgement letter cos you using the 24 hours priority service. You will get approval email / letter within 2 days. Your company no get chills ni? If not, proof of appointment and/or payment ideally should be fine. Why you dey waste kishi on solicitor na? Anyways, all the best wallg123: Hi Good Evening Everybody and congratulations to those who recently succeeded in the renewals Just a quick question....
I'm renewing my spouse Visa FLR(M) this week and would be using the priority/premium service (To avoid go slow)... Please my questions are; 1. Do I need to make photocopies of my documents before taking it to the UKVCAS centre? 2. How long does it take to get an acknowledgment letter since we submitting the application online through a solicitor? As i need to send the acnnowlegdment letter to my employers ASAP......
Thanks |

Whether the agency decides to employ a supply teacher on a T4 visa or not is down to the agency. I knew a student on T4, had he's ACCA well before graduating but not to lose him, he was offered a temp role in an auditing firm. It might be difficult to get on a T4 but definitely not impossible. The option to be employed is also available. LaaJiblik: Part-Time TEACHING jobs are almost exclusively an Agency thing. I really doubt if any agency will ‘employ’ you as a Supply (part time) teacher on a T4 Visa.
Remember: T4 Visa does not allow you to be self-employed. |

You need to ask yourself .... Did you care to really read Bullet point 6 of section 319 that I screen-grabbed and fully digest it? It's common sense!!! If any job is advertised on full time/permanent basis, Tier 4 students cannot work. Thankfully Stenon as come out to say there are PT roles in teaching LaaJiblik: You write as though the UKVI guideline is cast in stone. Based on what you are saying, it means a Tier-4 student can apply (and be employed) to join the London Metropolitan Police (which are currently recruiting) or to join the British Army (which are really looking for folks to join).
Because the screenshot you captured did not mention those. Or did it?

Not sure what part of Google you looking Doesn't say no teaching on Ukvi guidance mrkossy: Hey, your people aren't wrong per se.. I'd be very careful taking a teaching job cos just before I started typing this reply, I was researching on prohibited jobs for tier 4 students. I have to tell you, teaching did come up as one of the prohibited ones.
If I was you, I'd go into Google and search "jobs you can and canNOT do on a tier 4 visa.
On a good note, teaching is a very good job here and if you are allowed to take up teaching, securing a teaching job should not be too much of a problem as long as you pass the Professional Skills test, which is usually in literacy and numerical form.
Good luck....

Your "people" are wrong lol. Restricted work usually applies to no employment as a doctor or dentist. Your plan works out when you get the role. All the best STENON: Thanks bro. I am on long vacation at my Uni here from may till september so I can work for full time. I am working as a private home tutor with a tutoring agency here and they also assisted with the GCTS certification. The plan is to be a Physics supply teacher to school and be on 20 hours contract as from september 2019. But my people are saying its against the immigration law to work as a Teacher. |

The IT world is evolving towards modern workplace / automation. Those courses doesn't even cut it at all and forget experience for uni in naija as it's a different ball game entirely here. Concentrate on the world of cloud computing and do certifications relating to the cloud umarwy: Thank you for your comments.
I actually am doing A+ and N+ just because I have lots of experience on it from when I was in uni in naija but I have no experience in a proper working environment for them. That's what made me decide to go for them. And I think these certs are actually a good place to start for me to get used to self study and exams etc. |

Why don't you start with a shared house/apartment (usually half the amount) then move from there. As times go on, you will have adjusted, understood your way of living and how London works. sgtponzihater1: How would I survive North London. The cost of accommodation in the zone I am going states 1200 minimum on Zoopla. That nearly half my expected pay |

Na you chop all my money for ultimate ehn and you're just within vicinity. See you next season lol nihilistjnr: You can't beat spending that money, you will have to spend it either on accommodation or on travel.
I live in the east Midlands and commute into central London everyday.
My train journey in to KGX from Newark takes around 90 minutes, and a monthly pass is £1044 with another 179 spent on parking.
We own a generously sized 4 bed, and our monthly outgoings (mortgage, utility bills) just shade a grand.
So roughly 2k per month. I would have paid that on acvomadtion in London anyway for a smaller house than we live in now. The only difference is that the quality of life is better when I actually get to experience it lol |

Makes perfect sense KoiceReloaded: High emergency response aren't very expeditious in real life, as opposed to movies, esp when you take into consideration that India was a 3rd World country. Like you would expect from any developing country, the bureaucracy and the red tapes can be frustratingly slow.
Furthermore, it's important to note that India's elite NSG commandos during that time weren't well funded, and had had to be mobilized from scratch. When you line up this infelicitous delays side by side, it's only natural that it took the commandos more than 7 hours to get to Taj Hotel when alternatively, it would have taken them less than 3 hours |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Bourne007(m): 5:56pm On Jun 09, 2019 |
But it was a national treat/security, it would have taken 2 hrs to fly na. . KoiceReloaded: It's very unfortunate. A massive city like that has no business not having an elite security force nearby.
Meanwhile, if you line up the equidistance from New Delhi to Mumbai, you'd realize that the special forces made it to the Taj hotel in record time. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Bourne007(m): 4:34pm On Jun 09, 2019 |
Just watching. Mumbai doesn't have their own special force and would take 800 miles for New Delhi forces to arrive. This got me and I was like wtf KoiceReloaded: Hotel Mumbai
Brutal, compelling, and astronomically puissant. This movie didn't hold back. I appreciated the fact they didn't dramatize the whole situation by giving us a happy ending, esp in Armie Hammer's case. It just shows that in a situation like this, no one is safe or special in the eyes of terrorists.
Overall, it's not the easiest to optically canvass, but at the same time I believe it shouldn't be. This is a consequential real life event, and people should know that terrorism is real.
