PoliticsRe: I May Run In 2015, Says Buhari• He Is Upright – Obasanjo by brabus(m): 10:41am On Jun 01, 2012
Genbuhari3: i dont think i have commented on Nairaland since the end of 2011 elections in which i supported General Buhari, financially, and campaigned vigorously.

But his present declaration has chased me out of silence. and i think he should not contest. terribly disappointed.

we do need him if we must chase PDP out of power in 2015, based on the support base of the North. but he needs to just groom and endorse a young man now, and with the ongoing talks with ACN, a fashola as vice presidential candidate. Buhari raising the hand and campaigning for a El Rufai in the North will secure the North for us, and A fashola as vice president from the south will do the magic from the south. and PDP will be a goner.

but with this Buhari declaration, there is trouble for the opposition. Buhari is far more unelectable in the south than he was in 2003, 2007, 2011. the stigma against him in the south is beyond deliverance!

i do hope God will make him change his mind.

and the question is why has Buhari been the most talked about opposition figure in Nigeria? same as Obafemi Awolowo who contested 1983 elections in his 70's. give to him please! it is only Buhari that talks and PDP starts opening their mouth in self defence. and he remains the most feared man by the corrupt few killing this country. i adore Jerry Rawlings who changed Ghana as a die hard Military Rule, I respect Sankara who almost did same in Burkina Faso. for Buhari almost doing it for Nigeria, I will always respect him. until we crush corruption and the corrupt in this country, this country goes no where.

no country develops without social justice! and Nigeria will not be an exception.

as for Jonathan, my silence in the last one year is always troubled by the thoughts of 'how did Nigeria get this man elected?'. it is absolutely shameful.
@GenBuhari, Buhari is doing the right thing.

This is what we call Politics. First, it was a close door meeting with Tinubu. Now, its Obasanjo.

PDP is in hot soup in 2015 except they can get a better candidate than GEJ that will be accepted by all, which I doubt they can.

Buhari is not going to run but he's going to amass support in the North for ONE candidate that will be jointly presented by the 2 regions.
Tell me who had Buhari's followership in the north.

You better join the winning team!

Mr. Globe:
Dbanj this and that on every Nigerian site doing this and that in the UK and its still one oliver twist. Its all paid publicity. If he can do it without donjazzy then let him drop another song, lets see how far it goes. And the people who say oliver twist is playing on a 'whites only bar' must be whites themselves to know. Nigerians and hyping self. *leaves the thread*
Let's agree or assume that Don Jazzy is the best producer in the world, D'Banj will pay him off for his next hit. If he cannot afford it, we the FAN will raise the funds.

I can understand that of the first woman to fly a plane because planes were very few in the country at that time and people would definitely notice if one flew a plane. Especially if it's a woman.
Eventually, you made frontpage with this thrash. Well done!

But if I may ask, "who is the first man to drive bicycle in your village?"

ogugua88: Because Snoop featured on his track doesn't mean Americans heard it. All of that is relevant to us. There wasn't any American promo for that apart from filming the video here. D'banj fans, till date, cannot admit that the Endowed Remix was overhyped and ended up being lackluster.

"Oliver Twist" is D'banj's first music video to score 1,000,000+ views since the release of "Fall in Love", and that has little to do with who featured on the track and everything to do with how he and Don Jazzy promoted that song. EXCELLENTLY. They literally got the world involved for that song.
Thank God D'Banj moved on early enough. Oliver Twist would have ended being lackluster (borrowing your word).
Don Jazzy has always been with him from inception, so if D'Banj is recording huge success after separation that should prove something is wrong somewhere.

Maybe its because 'Oliver Twist' doesn't have the usual 'its Don Jazzy again' grin

I still don't believe 'Don Jazzy' is the best producer in the world. There are millions out there who'd like to associate with success.
I mean the ones who really mean business.

ogugua88: How big is this UK you're talking of? As unfortunate as it may be, artists can't reach monumental success or popularity until they've scored big points in the US. Ask Adele and Amy Winehouse. No one is singing Oliver Twist here. but trust D'banj. Once he has conquered all populations of UK, he'll branch out again.

@OP, huh? Lol, if D'banj found success partnering with Don Jazzy, why can't anyone else? If anything, Tiwa has a great chance of being successful with Don Jazzy as she's actually talented. She's a great Grammy-nominated songwriter and a superb vocalist as well. Everyone flipped when "Without My Heart" featuring Don Jazzy was released. She's versatile. She has no album under her name, but I have high hopes for her because she's one of the few talented musicians currently in Nigeria's lackluster music industry. When she releases an album, I'll be bumping this thread lol.
Snoop and Kanye are not Naija or UK musician, they are from US.

Keep bumping, we're coming for you! Its gonna be collabo btw you and D'banj.

Ogun Gov Scorecard.

1. Demolition of Golf resort (personally supervised by His Excellency)

2. Banks shut down for over 5 months (first in Nigeria)

3. Scrapped TAI SOLARIN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (TASUED) due to the fact that much funds was needed to effectively run the institution annually in #732 million

4. EXPAND the existing 4-lane Totoro-sokori road to 6-lanes with N1.3 billion! Waoh! Expand 2.4km (4 lane) road to 6-lanes for N1.3 billion.

5. Purchased Armoured Personnel Carriers N4 billion to fight crimes in the state. Yet, Banks remained shut down and robbery didn't reduce.

6. Convert one of the 7 Cargo Airport, approved by late President, Umar Musa Yar’adua, to a dump site.

Gov. Amosun spend N1.3b to EXPAND and not construct a road of 2.4km

Take Note of this!

(a)  The road itself and the desirability of its expansion vis-a-vis its socio-economic significance.

(b) The number of kilometres involved in relationship with the cost of contract.

The stretch of road has no concentration of medium or big businesses. No concentration of Banks, Petrol Station, Government office, Hotel, entertainment outfit or edifice of note, and importantly, the road does not experience any major traffic gridlock to have warranted this luxury expenditure.

This is to say the
expansion is a waste, undesired and a self serving initiative to siphon state funds; suffice it to say that his uncompleted mansion is located within the area.

Mathematically, Amosun is constructing a kilometre for N500million!

aasog1: @OP

Are you sure you ever studied economics?
Do you even know the meaning of fixed asset?
Your fish pond is a permanent asset that would serves you for years to comes. Its not like you want to hawk gala or purewater.
@aasog1, double salute sir. I no fit insult my oga but I beg to differ on this.

The turn-around-maintenance of ponds pass that of some refineries. Correct maintenance is the key to successful fish farming, ensuring that your fish remain in the best possible condition. No be to just dig pond and start counting your blessings!

Most fish farmers don't know they should check their pond water for ammonia, nitrite and PH every week throughout the year (or at any time the fish look or behave differently). All this comes at a cost.

Even minus the above, fish farming is still not lucrative as people think.
Cash flow is the amount of money made on a business versus the amount of money you must expend on the business. When your net income is positive (income minus your expenditure), then you’re doing fine. But on the other hand, if you’re unable to meet your expenses (maintenance inclusive) with the current income you’re generating from your farm or have to foot some bills with your personal fund, then you’ve got a negative cash flow. This projection assumes all is well

mekaboy: THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE BUT SOME DETAILS ARE STILL MISSING I WANTED US TO US THE 1000 PIECES AS AN ESTIMATE TO DO THE CALCULATION, WHICH YOU SKIPPED .

FROM WHAT YOU SAID, YOU DID NOT STATE THE PRICE OF ANY POND TYPE.

ASSUMING ONE FISH COST N30 THE 1000 = N30,000

THE FEEDING AS U SAID IS = N250,000

THAT IS 280K ALREADY

ASSUMING ALL THE FISHES ARE SOLD AT 400 *1000 = 400,000

400K - 280K = 120K

I WILL NOT CONSIDER 120K AS PROFIT YET BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE DETAILS OF THE COST OF THE POND WHICH WILL STILL BE SUBTRACTED FROM IT, AND THE COST OF MAINTENANCE FOR THAT 5 MONTHS.

FROM WHAT I SEE, ASSUMING U SPENT 100K ON POND- 250K ON FEEDING- 30 FOR THE FISHES - OTHER EXPENSES 50K =430K

IF THE FISHES ARE SOLD FOR 450 EACH *1000 = 450K

SO U INVESTED 430K PLUS STRESS -- GOT 450K FROM SALES AFTER 6MONTHS --PROFIT IS 20K IN 6MONTHS .

You've said it all! Fish farming is not a lucrative business. Based on your projection, you only make at most 25% of whatever sum is invested.

Well that depends on our people's definition of 'lucrative business'. As far as am concerned, you're only working for the feed seller and the buyers.

I can only do backyard fish farming for family consumption.
