Demdem: MKO was definitely a great man however i do not like this idea to be honest. we now have Moshood Abiola University Lagos. wait a minute, i think there is one Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in ogun stateGEJ: What should I tell them? Abati: Immortalize MKO Abiola by renaming UNILAG after him. GEJ: I thought there's Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Ogun state, which the state governor is planning to upgrade into a University. Abati: That was in Ogun state. Rename UNILAG ~ Moshood Abiola University of Lagos, Lagos. GEJ: I got it! Next year, we can rename OAU ~ Moshood Abiola / Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. Abati: Sir, Abiola is not from Osun state GEJ: Neither is Awolowo! |
Baba Suwe should sue this man for defamation of character. He should also disregard any result or statement released after his 21 days in detention. The NDLEA guys had enough time to doctor the report and turn 'unidentified substance' into drug. No be Naija we dey! |
Politics without Democracy = Democracy without Dividends |
In fools world, machines would detect your belt, phones, key holder, wristwatches... It won't detect bombs, gun, explosives... Happy Democracy! |
ZUBY77: As an adult, the only way to live a free life is to chose what to believe. I personally believe baba suwe ingested drugs. I have been through this same machine many times and nobody ever stopped me. Why would the ndlea want to disgrace or arrest baba suwe if he was clean. I believe baba suwe bribed his way into removing the stuff. He he realy want us to count him lucky, he should just abandon the court case and move on. He got lucky because he had people who move things.Bros, where and when was the drug removed. Another dumb post! |
Mr. Globe:What's the name of the drug? If Me-Cure cannot identify the substance. You can continue to attack him as if you're the substance ingested. Oga, make una dey use your brain when u wan comment. This is like saying "we found an item that looks like a gun, but we don't know what it is, on the suspect". Na big problem in fools paradise! |
egift: We Nigerians are also traumatized by Jonathan and his political gang.We can see what inexperience could wrath on a nation in transition. So far, with the signals reaching us , Mr. GEJ lacks capacity and experience to rule a community of 150,000 people talkless of a state like Lagos. |
collins123: PLS FOCUS MORE ON ELECTRICITY.Mscheeeeeew! Dumb post |
GEJ’s stance to root out corruption has inadvertently turned into a sing-along tune which is reminiscent of a toothless bulldog – all roar but no bite. While the antigraft body preyed on small time thieves who pocketed petty cash, the big fishes that have been fingered in multimillion naira frauds – or at times even billions of naira – were left to swim free. Poor governance remains the most potent threat to the quality of democracy in Nigeria. And it is a great pain to the citizenry. |
Each year, we celebrate Democracy day. This is the time we take a comprehensive look at the gains and losses of democracy over the previous year. Democracy is much more than just holding free and fair elections. It has to be underpinned by a civil society governed by the rule of law and supported by a politically neutral civil justice system free of corruption. Also required are a free press; respect for minorities; public accountability; business transparency; and the presence of educational, cultural, scientific and religious institutions and NGOs. Are we likely to see any gains cited as achievements in the democractic scorecard of President Goodluck Jonathan in the next few years? ________ For me, it is an unending pain for the poor. How do poor families spend so much more money than they earn? Let's discuss. |
nas 00: U guys are missing one salient nigerian indication for using hazard lights:Talk true, na your style be dat ![]() |
Pls, can you kindly assist in repairing my broken Macbook Air 13". My son broke the hinges and it can't stay on its own again. Regards. |
xreal: I see many drivers put it on for various indications. The one that amuses me most is that some drivers uses it when carrying dead body. |
Give it up to Fashy! He's still the best among the rest. OBJ would have been my preferred choice but Ogun state cannot boast of any achievement during his tenure. Except I'm in the dark. Charity begins at home. |
Gov. Goodluck Jonathan of FCT takes the crown. |
deenee: I always tell people that the problem with our great country is the mindset and mentality of her citizens! We all agree that lack of stable power supply is a one of the major problems hindering the growth of the economy. Imagine how many SMEs have closed shop and many others battling with running cost tied to power supply. Before we start throwing temper tantrums, I would suggest a cursory look at the transaction documents for the privatization of PHCN. The tarrif quotes herein is still amongst the cheapest in the world and is based on a worst case scenario analysis which implies that once the human and capital infrastructure is on ground prices will eventually fall in line with market forces. Besides, we'll all want stable power supply yet we don't want to pay for it. Of course, the PHCN workers will frown at this because it will no longer be business as usual for them and it has been stated that prepaid meters will be installed so we only get to pay for what we use. I was in Nigeria recently and was surprised when I saw a saw a friend leaving his outdoor lights on in broad daylight yet he will complain when he is slammed with a huge bill. In the US, I pay on average twice of what is proposed in the new tarriff, bearing in mind that I live alone and spend not more than 6-7 hours at home daily. God bless Nigeria!Cheapest my foot. Come back and enjoy the cheapest tariff nah! omodapson: This is phucking crazy. Fixed charge will be jumping from N75.00 to N500.00!Save your money to buy GUN! Your people abroad are already supporting it. |
Loskee: Besides, we'll all want stable power supply yet we don't want to pay for itSo what's the guarantee that we'll see uninterrupted power supply after the proposed tariff increase. Should increment be the first thing? What about distribution? Abi na those illegal connections go supply 24/7 power supply |
scribble: South South has to be Akpabio. I hear he subsidizes movie tickets for indigenes in the state when they visit the Silverbird built with State Funds. It is Fashola and the rest. You can only compare his achievements with that of the FG. |
@OP, Infidelity is a blow to trust, but that doesn't mean a marriage can't survive it. If you send her packing, what do you stand to achieve? If you kill her, what's your gain? You need a space right now, and get offline for a while to determine whether to leave the marriage or stay to heal it, or else you might commit murder. Its your choice! But bros, the real tragedy here is that most cases like this end up in a divorce and recovering is very tough. Sorry o. Abi how dem dey greet person wey this kain thing happen to |
Shakara123: Whichever you choose is a function of where you want to be, your career goals, whether or not you are lazy or you like a challenging environment...etc.Never start your career in a shop! |
davidylan: My bros na you biko. My people here are busy quoting bible. Make i quote my own bible for them - 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.@Masterplanner, Peter is a great fisherman, yet Luke 5:5 had it in record and I quote "Master, we've toiled all the night, and we have taken nothing..." We have graduates roaming the streets without a job, haven't they worked. Bros go sitdown and be more realistic with life jare. For those discrediting God, my sister now had a house in Manchester, UK and still kept her family. The same God that asked Abraham to leave his father's land to the land he'll show him. I knew if the story had been that my sister had the best qualification and worked as top manager in UK, you would have claimed she had a better plan for her life. Na God dey do am! Its not my sister. I've never asked the OP to sit down and keep expecting manna from heaven but my point is that she shouldn't lean on her own understanding. With God, all things are possible. |
dayokanu: JK,Nice one bro! Nobody knows what the future holds but we can trust who holds the future. It now depends on who or what holds our future (God or Man). @OP, kindly look toward the future with hope regardless of life's disappointment and circumstances. |
davidylan: I'm sorry but the above is nonsense. So God purposely made sure your sister and her husband are living hand to mouth as a testimony to His name? Your sister's case has nothing to do with God but everything to do with poor planning. So many people think that living in the white man's land is an automatic ticket to a good life... i was once one of those. My uncle had a chance to move his family to Scotland thru his wife's job... bobo was working as a small time manager at the Stock exchange then and he flatly refused despite the tearful pleas of his wife and members of the family. His argument - i am already established in a great job here, why go to Scotland where my degree is not recognised to sweep the floor all in the name of living "abroad"? Today? He had the last laugh! He is a big time manager in the stock exchange today... wifey is a top manager at Addax... has a home fully paid for in the US (comes here more times than we can count for vacation sef) and is living LARGE in naija. That's your view and congratulations to your Uncle. But if I could ask what else could a man with Phd blame if not fate? I've seen people without education making it big in life and some educated professors struggling to make ends meet. The race is not to the swift. Beside, the story is inconclusive cos Abraham was 100 before he got a son. No be say Abraham no sabi b*ng Sarah. Na God! |
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this wonderful thread. @OP, this is the time your husband needs you most. Be there for him and God will see you through. @all, In life we often make plans for future and we foolishly assume that it is we who can decide and control our future but one thing I do know is that God upsets our plans so that we can put him first. I have a story to support this. My sister only worked 1 year after her youth service in Nigeria as a Lab Technician and was able to genuinely (she's a born-again christian) save money to finance her husband relocation to UK and put up a house and roof it. Her husband came to relocate the family shortly after to the UK in search of greener pasture. It is 8 years after they'd relocated to UK (even with higher qualifications and better job in UK), the house hasn't been completed. And the story is not different from what I read above. They can barely survive. It was another story of 'had I known' The moral of this story is that God laughs when we make plans. Proverbs 16:9 |
I've been a songwriter and a producer b4 and I used to play in-progress works (embolden for those who doesn't understand what D'banj leaked) for anyone and everyone nearby but I've found that most people don't tend to give very detailed criticisms. When I did get criticisms, they tended to be about faults that were there because I had played a rough mix. The problem with a helping ear is that everyone has different taste, and very often the advice will not be neutral. Not every song is supposed to have that big chorus, or please everyone. Going to critique sessions is great for someone starting out ~ D'Banj is starting afresh. Comments and feedbacks should indicate pieces that needed fine tuning or might be better considered in a different order. It should delve on the following: - Length - Listenablity - Composition - Images and feelings evoked - audience this piece might appeal to - Lyrics - other feedback... And not some benz vs mercedes argument. ________ Now, this is for those who felt D'Banj is doomed for moving on. The more help you have with your garden the less it belongs to you. MJ left Jackson 5 to become great in life! Don't know why Don Jazzy shelved the song because this production is more like 'the D'Banj' I want to see in the future. |
igbsam: wow....d'banj is really going down. Wat kinda crap song is this ? y'all would notice something is definately missing and dats Don Jazzy's voice in the background. u know, dat voice dat u would just notice. Damn!!! Dis guy is beginning to loose it. Am ur fan D'Banj, but sorry, dis track no be am at all. This is total rubbish and waste of instruments time. You're the one missing it totally. Imagine a Snoop Dogg rap in this hit. I expected DJ to give us something like this to feel before rushing to release Solar Plexus. Beside, its unfinished work.. |
2 bottles down already, more to go... Club Banger!!! D'Banj is a born again now |
jaybee: I wish all these raining curses on buhari heard or read his comment directly; and then attempt to comprehend it. rather, they are reacting to abati's distractive diatribe. why can't this government and her cronies address the issues raised by buhari instead of attacking him and calling him names? Most Sensible Post So Far! GEJ is slowly establishing another terrorist hell like Afghanistan and some f**ls are here clapping. |
Businesstools: You can look for a good location and establish a retail store. Before you do that, spend some time at potential locations to observe the traffic that goes by.Make sure it is in a residential area without plenty of retail stores.Open a Retail Store - it is 100% Risk-Free Business! |
Welcome to the Scientific Animal Farm! We have not fully exploit mechanized farming, our Presido is talking scientific farming. Is this the best 'Bayelsians' can produce? |
Beaf: The old style bulbs are being phased out the World over anyway. I don't see what the fuss is about.Oga softly on the OP now. I have over 30 energy saving bulbs in my house but they are useless whenever power drops below 110v. So what's the goodnews about the government freebies. We want power and not some cheap solution borrowed from 17 year old college student. Will the incandescent bulb iron my clothes? Have they ever thought of the health hazards of the bulbs? Argh!! |
Babamide: Are the bulbs solar powered? Abi wetin we wan use them do?We had it coming but we were too blind to see the disaster. GEJ is a disaster. Wetin go power the bulbs? Matches abi sunlight? |
